How loud is the Wahoo Kickr Snap

  • A volume test of the Wahoo Kickr Snap indoor bike trainer. Since this is a wheel on bike trainer, having a trainer tire will help reduce the volume as will a gym pad if you are on a hard floor. The trainer is not whisper quiet, but you can easily hold a conversation and watch TV in the same room. A lot of the sound is actually coming from the mechanics of your bike; the trainer can be heard as a hum which gets louder as the wattage increases. Additionally the bike tends to move within the rear axle clamp when standing, this causes a knocking noise. With my setup the loudest thing by-far is free-wheeling.

The quick comparison between other noise sources was excellent. This video helped me make a decision choosing trainer for my girlfriend. You helped me.
If I may offer some advice that will help you: Have your saddle height checked. I noticed another person made the same comment. An expert will observe that you have developed your pedal style around an improper saddle height to compensate.
I noticed three key issues immediately after you began pedaling. (ask me what they are) Correcting this will result in greater power output and comfort and also will improve your pedal stroke.
    Anyway, thanks for the video.

Thanks for the comment! If volume is a big concern definitely get a trainer tire, it helps so much

If you are on an upper floor of a building without a heavy floor like concrete, the vibrations transferred to the floor are quite bad though. Literally shakes my curtains on the wall. Using training tire, and a rubber mat.

Just got the Kickr Snap for my wife. During spin-down I found it surprisingly loud. I'm wondering if all the whining noise could be caused by the standard road tire on the bike, or whether the unit is defective. Should I expect a significant difference in noise level between a standard and a slick trainer tire or is it more likely that the unit is faulty? There is no clicking or buzzing, just a rather loud whining noise.

It is very possibly the tire. I did a review of the trainer tire where i compare the sound of a road tire and the trainer tire. Link below or just search my channel for the trainer tire review. Skip to about 45 seconds for the sound comparison. I clearly hear a higher pitch noise when using a road tire. Good luck! ua-cam.com/video/KoHEvJjxpKQ/v-deo.html

I don’t care how loud mine is. I just set mine up, select something from Netflix and ride baby!

This sounds awful on a MTB, don't buy it if you have one, it will sound like you are drilling a wall.

Please post a sound bite of this! That would be hilarious to hear.
