Thanks for the pointers! I work at a dealer and didn't know about the advanced spindown. Now I can share that info with my customers who keep buying Snaps faster than Wahoo can ship them out! Not to mention, I have just EP ordered one for myself! Great video!
Thanks for the tips! I did perorm the quicj spindown but never realized i need to do the advanced one for braking to be correct. This explains why it seemed way too high for me! 🤣
Paul - great job explaining how to do the spindowns. However, how about a vid showing what to do or how to fix or troubleshoot when either of these (or the Zwift) spindown FAILS!?! I can't find anything that provides any "adjustments" that can be made to correct a failed spindown (other than the standard, check your tire pressure, two full turns on the resistance knob, etc). Thoughts, comments, or maybe a new vid?? :)
I like that idea! I just went to a customers house yesterday to fix this exact issue! He had a Cycleops trainer and couldn't calibrate on Zwift. Well, after some research, I found out that there is an issue with Zwift iOS and Cycleops Magnus. So I unplugged his ipad, (so there was no connection to the trainer at all) then I installed the Rouvy app on his phone and Calibrated there...it worked great. So a video may come soon on that, but make sure that there are no other devices attached to your trainer. That is just one possibility of failing...
Excellent video. Thanks for doing it. I just bought one new from my local bike shop but I don’t know what generation SNAP it is. It’s September 2022. Do you have a video where you explain how to subscribe to Zwift and connect the trainer to it?
Should the gears be used? I dont use them, and I dont used third apps like zwift. I use the trainer and change the % on the app manually. Similar question: Which gear should it be on? (I left the chain in the middle so it goes straight to the gears).
You def can use gears and I prob would change the gears once in awhile. The issue is you’ll just wear out that one cog a lot quicker by not changing gears.
PK's Bike Shop LLC I Bike Sales, Service, and Rentals You are most welcome. Your video as short and to the point. I watch it when my kicker does strange things. Power was jumping from zero to 200 plus. I started over did 2 full turns on the roller, pumped the tire. Back in gear. Thanks. I'm almost 70 tech stuff can be difficult at times.
Have you had any issues? My snap is junk. It does whatever it likes. Change screens it brakes. The app closes mid use again the brake. It's like it isn't communicating with the trainer, total junk. Been trying since Dec to get it fixed . Wahoo has stopped responding. Ticker heart monitor lasted about a month. Second one just quit. Uninstalled , reinstalled nothing helps.
I get the option to perform a spin down, there is nowhere in the app to suggest an advance spin down, running the latest software, is this something that has been changed?
what if you don`t double knob and only touch the trainer wheel slightly but good enough that it does not slip. Does it affect the power? Also, is this still legit in 2021?
@@paulpisanitv Thanks i have noticed an interesting thing. my garmin hear rate monitor somehow messes up with wahoo trainer and my power went down by100. When i unpair it all was good and then i switched to wahoo hm it`s back to normal.
@@paulpisanitv Thank you for a quick reply. I found the root cause it was my tire/wahoo snap knob. I haven`t turned it enough. not really 720 degree but more than 550. Everything works as normal and power is back to how it was. It`s not down by 100 watts anymore.
Couldn’t you just make sure your bike has the same pressure every time rather than doing the easy and advance spin down each time? Also, do I need power meters or cadence/speed sensors? Is so, can I get away with just speed and cadence?
The did not entirely remove it. When you tap "spindown" in the app, there is a message explaining the process of the spindown. Tap the message 5 times, and the Perform Factory Spindown option will appear at the bottom. I had to do this as my Kickr Snap was reporting about 60 watts under, now it finally works as it should after doing the advanced spindown.
@@Dix0rI am not sure, it's summer where I live so I have not been on the trainer in months. Also, I spoke with Wahoo support team and they said it is not necesary to do a factory spin down more than once, so I won't be doing it again.
No wonder I was able to fly up Box Hill with relative ease the day we came up. ;) Cant wait to get our Kickr and make it make back up to Yulee to visit you guys again. p.s. check this out facebook.com/DavidBondPhotos/posts/1585418424839300
Yes exactly!!!! Kickr does not have these issues at all Dave! Looking forward to our next meeting for sure! Kickr should be arriving soon....fingers are crossed! Thanks Dave..say hello to Marge!
Best video on this trainer on the internet, thank you
Short, sweet and to the point. Thank you guys!

You are welcome Chuck! Glad this helped you out! Let's sell some SNAPS now!
Can find the advance spin down option? Plz tell me where to find. Thanks mate.
Spin down tip has worked a treat thanks
Thankyou for the tips! I needed them.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
Very helpful! Thnx for making this videos!! keep them coming!

Where do you go for the advance spin down?
Can’t find it too
Great video. Very helpful. Thanksgiving you.
Ty! I really appreciate that!!!
Hi. Thanks for the video! Where do you find the advanced spin down?
Great vid! Except you mention having the right pressure several times but never give a specific #. What am I missing?
@@firemigs88 for a road tire I would say 100 lbs of pressure! 23 or 25 mm wodth

Good tips from legend
Helpful video!!!!! What psi tire pressure do you recommend for tires across the board?
I pump mine between 90 to 100 psi. Ride on!
Wahoo recommends 110 psi.
Hi! love the video. Does this still apply to the kickr snap version 2?
I’m sorry to ask this question but what app do we use to do the spin down

Very informative ....
thanks a lot! I appreciate that ! Feel free to subscribe ;)
After performing this calibration, is it necessary to calibrate again with the Zwift calibration tool?
Great video and thanks in advance!
Alfonso Benítez Mora I don’t think you do! I personally just calibrate with Zwift. It’s soooo much easier. Merry Xmas!
The cadiance monitor is not working on my Wahoo Kick Snap, what is the fix for that?
how can i do de advanced spindown? The second test you do? i cant find it ... And i want to do the breakdown system..... Thnx

I have the same question. Anyone know?
Click on your sensor, scroll down and it gives you the option to spin down
@@aliciaharris9972 thanks for responding but there is only the option for spin down, not advanced spin down, and my app is updated. 🤷♀️
I just got the Wahoo snap but when I do the spindown the mph aren't showing on my phone.....
Nice Vlog Sir
It's able to ride in with grave tire 700x42? Or I should buy dedicated wheel?
That should work ! Just I wouldn't recommend knobbie tires!
Your So Cool Bro..Im From Philippines Hope to See your BikeShop
If I do both Wahoo spin downs, do I still need to
do the Zwift spin downs?
That’s a good question. I wonder that too
do you need to do either of these if I have a Stages PM and will use power matching?
Keith Tse if the power numbers are showing from the Stages seen accurate I would go with that for sure.
If you connect your power source to the app or your choice, it will calculate power from that. So no need for the app calibration
Thanks! Very helpful
NorthWind you’re welcome!
I'm not a super advanced cyclist. How hard is it to get up to the correct speed for the spindown? It's got me a little worried.
Phil Gartman shouldn’t be too hard! Is it getting stuck about 80 percent into the spin?
@@paulpisanitv I don't actually have one yet. I'm just worried that if I get one I might not be able to calibrate it correctly.
Phil Gartman oh ok! You’ll be fine buddy. Promise. :)
do you need to do these calibrations on the kickr or the kickr core?
mysteriman9 yes. I would highly recommend that. I do mine 1 time per week
Amazing! Thank you
You BET!
What tyre pressure should I use on the snap? Great video btw
I like to put it at right around 90 ! For a road bike that is... hope that helps! Cheers!
thx for ranges of spindowns
You're welcome Andro! Thanks for watching and if you ever have any questions please let me know!
Is there a recommended tire pressure for 25mm tires?
Hello Bill! Thanks for watching and commenting. I would recommend right around 100 psi’s (+\-) 5 lbs.

Yo Luis! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to smash the notification button!
Take a sharpie to make a mark to go by on the knob. You won’t fell like one when you don’t spin it enough or to much.
I mean... there's also the "Crank it up" text on the knob, not sure why no one seems to use that.
Does the Snap still require this or have they programmed in a workaround?
Quite sure it still needs to be calibrated

Hi Chris...sorry for the late reply. My suggestion is to pump tires up and calibrate every 7 days!
There is no advanced spin down for next generation wahoo snap, they modified the software, regular spin down includes brake strength
Laddie-147 yes! They did change it up and made it similar. Thanks very much for sharing your experience with the Snap to this thread.
