Will it work? Patching a mountain bike tire with Duct Tape
Переглядів 12 тис.2 роки тому
Can you patch a bike tube with Duct Tape? Sand the area w/ 120 grit sandpaper then tear a small piece of duct tape and place onto a partially inflated tube. It holds air at least long enough to make it home, probably longer but I'm not going to find out. I set out to answer that question and ended up walking my bike miles back up the trail after getting left with double flats, 1 spare tube, and...
Having a spectacular day on a spectacularly terrible mountain bike
Переглядів 5382 роки тому
The bike did surprisingly well over the rocky and snowy terrain descending from White Mountain Peak in California; that is except for the rear brake wearing down VERY fast. My friend and I had originally planned to hike to the summit of this 14'ner, however, decided very last minute we would try to bike up as there is a road leading to the top. Not having a mountain bike and suddenly finding my...
4iii Precision Crank Arm Bicycle Power Meter, a 3 minute review
Переглядів 5 тис.3 роки тому
A short and to the point review of a popular power meter. I was not paid to create this review nor do I receive any compensation if you buy this product. This is my first power meter (besides my smart trainer) and my primary deciding factor in purchasing this over other meters was price, although this is a very solid power meter. I received my meter brand new on clearance, already attached to a...
Indoor Bike Trainer Setup - 3 things I've learned after 1 year.
Переглядів 2,5 тис.3 роки тому
A year ago I started cycling indoors on Zwift with the Wahoo Kickr Snap smart bike trainer. I had some of the other accessory gear choices such as a fan (must have), cadence sensor, and heart rate monitor. I even setup a smart TV to work with Zwift or show movies, but there are 3 specific pieces of gear I wish I had known about and had a year ago when I got started. 1) A trainer tire: if you ar...

How Accurate is the Wahoo Kickr Snap
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
Let's compare power data from the Wahoo Kickr Snap indoor smart bike trainer to the 4iii Shimano Ultegra R8000 Precision Left Side crank power meter. In this video I will present power data from a few different tests including average power from 1 minute at 100 watts, 200 watts, 300 watts, and 10 minutes free-riding in Zwift. Testing notes (for those who are curious). The Kickr Snap was warmed ...
Fastest method to change bikes in Zwift?
Переглядів 10 тис.3 роки тому
If you know of a faster method please share in the comments! Find out how to change bikes fast in Zwift to minimize time loss during timed events such as Fondos. This is the fastest method I have found for the current patch of Zwift which requires you to be stopped in order to switch bikes. Using the mountain bike for the jungle circuit is 7% faster than using a road bike which can add up to a ...
Zwift's Ramp FTP Test - Overview, Guide, and Review
Переглядів 19 тис.3 роки тому
A screen capture of the ramp test offered by Zwift showing what to expect and how it works. The ramp test is the shortest FTP test currently offered by the indoor cycling app and perhaps most consistent. Unlike the 20 minute tests, the ramp test takes pacing out of the equation; although you will need to achieve a higher power output during the last portion of the effort. Results are calculated...
90 SECOND REVIEW - Pro Bike Tool Torque Wrench
Переглядів 3,5 тис.3 роки тому
A fast, straight forward review of a popular tool for repairing and adjusting bicycles. It is hard to see in the video, but the sizes of the bits are as follows: TORX T10, T25, and T30. HEX 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm.
How loud is the Wahoo Kickr Snap
Переглядів 22 тис.3 роки тому
A volume test of the Wahoo Kickr Snap indoor bike trainer. Since this is a wheel on bike trainer, having a trainer tire will help reduce the volume as will a gym pad if you are on a hard floor. The trainer is not whisper quiet, but you can easily hold a conversation and watch TV in the same room. A lot of the sound is actually coming from the mechanics of your bike; the trainer can be heard as ...
90 SECOND REVIEW - Vittoria Ziffiro Pro Home Trainer Tire
Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
A short and to the point review of a popular training tire for wheel-on indoor bicycle trainers like the Wahoo Kickr Snap. I originally bought this tire to avoid wearing out my road tires, however, it also made my indoor trainer quieter. Please note that the wheelset, green tire irons, and pump that are pictured in the opening sequence are not included when you buy the tire but are useful for c...
ZWIFT - A beginner cyclist's review
Переглядів 127 тис.4 роки тому
Warning: this virtual cycling game is extremely addicting...you've been warned. I've never trained as a cyclist before and I wanted to see how much I could improve after a month using Zwift using their FTP builder training plan. My watt/kg FTP increased by 15% in just 28 days! Even though not required to run the game, I found having these extra sensors to be helpful for keeping pace in workouts...

They're called goat heads
Don't go too far from home
The problem that happen, I think is. When it is patched from outside, the high pressure from the inside will loose the patch outside. If you can patch it from inside with the ducktape, it Will probably work. My car tire is flat i will try to remove the tire and patch from the inside and put it all back in.
From my experience.. Gorilla tape takes some days before it will adhere. I like good old 3M tape.
I used, " Duck" tape and then sprayed over with Rust-Oleum Leak Seal on 2 tubes with holes. "Flexible Rubber Coating". It is drying now. Let you know if it works.
Yo did that work? I'm popping tubes every week riding in the city and I'm sick of buying patches/new tubes.
What a load of rubbish. Duct tape will never work on a bicycle tube puncture. You need a new tube or patch it up with rubber cement by using a piece of rubber. These fake videos should be removed because it's all false information.
So all these people are full of shit? Have you tried it? Do you own stock in a tire patch kit company? Do you ride a bike? Do you own a bicycle repair shop and afraid this might cut into profits? Just curious what your motive for the negative commentary is and why you watched the video at all.
Black Gorilla Tape may work better.
Salut j ai le meme il marche bien silencieux mais il me fait un petit bruit fe vibration de temps en temps avez vous la meme chose
I like my Vittoria trainer tire just fine. I hope you're riding that road bike off road enough to justify those Marathon Pro tires! That's like putting nobbies on a sports car. :>
I have been riding my Snap several times a week since 2020 with all my 4 bikes and FulGaz. It’s real life with no cars to avoid.
Ist das ein Carbon Rahmen? Ich habe mir den Snap gekauft, habe jetzt aber bedenken wegen dem Carbon Rahmen
Where I live is lousy with these goat heads. My only solution is that green slime. You can also use thick tubes. They not only ride hard, but they also ad more rolling resistance.
Ain't no way that HR is accurate. I've only hit 183 on the hardest efforts. If you think hitting 215bpm will make you more fit you are deluded.
Ramp tests are useless.
That's why you always do a complete check before putting the inner tube back in
I got hit by a car commuting on my bike. My commute is only 4 miles. I broke my clavicle and it required surgery. That’s thousands in medical bills. I also put on some pounds because I wasn’t getting much exercise while recovering. I’m getting a zwift to help lose those pounds, as it’s much safer than riding outside, and the doctor also said I shouldn’t run outside to prevent the metal from snapping in my shoulder. $600 seems worth it compared to the medical bills
Thanks for the review! Very well done in a quick timeframe
This power meter IS 100% pure and utter GARBAGE. It will work for a couple days if you're lucky. It will eventually no longer function. 4iii IS A FRAUDULENT company.
Gorilla duct tape will work, so long as it stays dry. I have tried.
Thanks for the review! Short, to the point, and informative 🤙
No rear wheel on wahoo kicker so no tyres needed. Great set up
Thinking of purchasing this or saving for a hub style. Good straight forward review!
brush on crazy glue than put down electric tape.
Is there freewheel coasting or is there always resistance ty
Good job man Thanks for the effort , I got generic duct tape but it didn't hold well then I've added double face tape on the hole then wrap it with duct tape and it's seem that it's working fine , but your method is great sanding with 120 then duct tape is a great idea
220 Hr what the fuck.
Very pleasent video!
Thanks 😊
I recommend using cheap superglue (like a 5 pack of 1ml tubes for 1 euro/dollar) in combination with a tiny patch of duct tape. Like a 5x5mm square. And then press it on and wait for a couple minutes so that the glue hardens. It's funny because these are two of the most useful tools to carry with you. Super glue and duct tape.
Hey there! Just came across your "bike trainer" video and wanted to say how much I appreciate the content you've been putting out. As an e-bike enthusiast myself, I recently stumbled upon a new crowdfunding project called Freebeat's Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. It's seriously impressive! One of the standout features that caught my attention is the ability to charge the bike while using it indoors. That's a game-changer for anyone who wants to stay fit and have the convenience of charging at the same time. The bike's powerful motor and suspension also make it really enticing for outdoor exploration. Keep up the great work with your videos!
Awesome & Thanks :)
Did you use 3m duct tape or gorilla duct tape or both ? I thought you said at the beginning of the video you were using a 3m duct tape.
How did you turn the camera around as you were riding?
Great when travelling to have versatile tape.
Unbelievable when I fixed up my cargo trike with premium tires and tubes that slime tube claimed to be self sealing. Got me a flat rear tire and it is just a pin hole that slime inside the tube didn't seal that pin hole. Now to compound the problem I'm in a knee immobilzing brace on crutches and my cargo trike has a flat again. When does all of this aggravation of trying to live end. Honestly I'd like a some decent problem free days instead of the 3 I've had in 64 years.
Im going to try duck tape as a tire liner! See if that helps
I’ve tried cycling on busy roads and I just can’t do it. In the UK so many drivers are too reckless and hate cyclists. I’ve bought a Zwift so i can get the hours in and improve my cardio. Excited for it to come now!
Introductory ride ???... with a level 12 😅😂😮
I have decision to make will I get all this lovely tech stuff or get married ?
idk whether i should get this or the smart trainer wahoo kickr (the one that you take your rear wheel off). i like the convenience of this since i dont have to take the backwheel off but i also have a pretty loud free hub on my bike and maybe the smart trainer would be quieter.
Get the Zwift Hub, it's a lot cheaper. They just did an offer in conjunction with Strava to get £50 off, but I think you might have missed it.
So I have a AT-650 bontrager rim and I have a 29x2.0 tire on there right now. Can I use a 700x23c Trainer tire on there?
Dude I’m trying to figure that out to .do you have any up date. I was going to epoxy go pro mount to my helmet
Hi, may I ask what tube pressure you apply? I have the same tyre and got the inner tube bursting twice within one week. I had around 110 psi, is it too high?
I use 100 psi for this tire size and check it before every ride. Strange to burst it so often, almost sounds like it is being pinched between your tire and wheel or maybe the tire has somerhing inside it
I got two flats on my trainer rear tire in short order. I discovered that I'd forgotten to install rim tape. My bad. No, I didn't notice that while changing the first flat.
Great video! I have tubeless on my road bike and there will be some holes that wouldn't seal. Would duct tape work as a temporary seal/plug on the outside?
I would never try that unless i was desperate, but who knows, might make for a good video/adventure. If you do then please film but take it easy around the curves
@@socalgravel puncture stopped happening, think they was on to my plan😁
213 bpm?!
Hoe moet ik hem kalibreren met een sigma12 rox gps toestel.
Hi Michael, great video. Think I'll pick one up. One question, if Zwift adapts the resistance, I guess you still use your gears like you would on a road ride as it gets hilly etc? Currently I use a non-smart trainer and the gears are used to add resistance.
Nice concise video. Thank you!
