I was taught 8 years, age 5 through 11 at an elementary school in Louisiana,USA, taught by Irish NUNS. The most amazing educated and spiritually wise women I ever knew. I thought the whole world would be so educated, speak English in this perfect manner, and I have weathered the storms and temptations of Satan and his minions and have survived until today, my 77TH birthday, and love GOD EVER MORE. I only sometimes wish I’d stayed in the monastery later in life, but three years was a great gift in my life.
How wonderful that they take older candidates! I saw several older ladies with the white novice veil on. I applaud these Trappists for not restricting this beautiful ministry of prayer to younger women.
Yes. I wish they would allow older women into these contemplative orders. I don't understand why many do not.
@@a.mazzaferro2701 I think monasteries are age restricted as a person who has been on her own for a long time may not be as pliable in being obedient to the superior AND older people just require more health care and may become more of a burden on the order. Jus sayin
The number of nuns would skyrocket if the convents would accept candidates over 40+.
How wonderful to see them at work and prayer - the peace and love of Christ quietly shines through them. God bless you dear Sisters. Please pray for me. Thank you.

I am discerning a late vocation but have a lot to overcome first
I watch this video and also the Would you Believe RTE programme.
THANK YOU
Please keep sharing more videos. Very calming!
Praise GOD, what a wonderful and full life. I (God Willing) will be entering a Abby to become a Benedictine Monk. Pray for me Sisters.
+Edwin Rivera GOD protect you like the pupil of His eyes!
Wishing you the best. I thought of doing this, when I was 23. Did not feel ready when it came to it, but have some regrets. Go for it.
Edwin Rivera Sehr verehrte Edwina Rivera, sind Sie in ein Kloster eingetreten?
Have you done that? How did you start your journey?
I too wish to join an order but have no idea on how to start
@@nabarun83 Go to your local Church to ask this question. They should know.
God bless your sisters!!!May you'll have many more vocations!!!
Thank you so very much for sharing your message on this video.
Bless you, Sisters! Pray for us!
Beautiful!
From Misión Cruz Hermitage in Somerset, Texas. Blessings to you and your family.
Veni Lumen Cordium...you are light of heart...beautiful...
The peace and solitude of cloistered life certainly has an appeal. Remaining in one place and not being able to attend occasions outside the convent would be tough though.
Beautiful life for God.
Well done video - thank you for posting!
How wonderful it would be to be a nun.
I live 5 minutes from there
You are so blessed!🙏🙏🙏
Amen🙏🏻❤️
It's sad many men's religious communities heavily rely on age. So many able-bodied men get rejected because they're above 35 or even 40. I don't think Jesus asked for proof of age when he gathered his followers. If he had, he probably would have been alone.
With the ageing population and people working much longer, ie. 67 plus, we cannot realistically say, that 35 or 40 is old for a man. I think that the orders will be looking at individuals. If someone of 40 or 50 or 55 is of sound mind, balanced, mentally well, physically well, and really wants to do this, they will welcome them. Many women now enter much later in life, but of course it is better to have a balance and for young women to enter and give their whole life to God.
Larry Martin I’m being rejected from becoming a consecrated virgin because the bishop thinks I’m too young. I’m 22, and I’ve been wanting this life for 13 years now

So do I.....Sigh...

Hello sisters...
I hope they can keep it going. They need some really sturdy nuns to get all that work done in four hours a day. The young girls nowadays don't seem to be interested in this way of life.
Very nice. I don,t think Christ asked for a birth certificate when he invited the apostles to join him. Gods call is between His chosen and Himslef and NO ONE ELSE!. no more need be said!

Re what the vocations director said....i don't see that Traditional Catholicism IS in demise. What I see in North America is a growing and vibrant interest in traditional Catholic pratice esp among younger women and men.
People want to go to Latin mass. They are interested in learning what the 60's generation of Catholic leadership sought to leave behind. The majority of people at masses were born after Vatican II.
What you're saying though, is not the case in Ireland. The situation in Ireland is what the Sister was referring to.
NO PLACE TO KNEEL IN CHURCH, CATHOLIC CHURCH????
"Automation has come to the convent." WTF is the point?

Sisters , Please visit VaticanCatholic.com.We are responsible. Francis is not a pope according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. You must clarify this issue. You are offending God if following an anti- pope.
Are they real cloistered nuns or just closeted feminists?
Monastic life is for depressed people who have given up!
That is not my experience getting to know Benedictines, Cistercians, Dominicans, and Franciscans. They feel a strong call to live in community, to pray, and to serve. Living in community is not easy, but if you are called, you can grow and develop in ways which aren't possible outside of such a community.
You know there's a depression and psychological test that is extremely strict right?
+Yeezy Season You know people do fake it .. Right?
How many monks, friars, sisters, and nuns do you actually know?
+James Griffin only the ones on the news caught child molesting.....oh the irreversible damage they've caused to the trust and faith in the hearts of the laity.
Beautiful!
