My late wife was a Carmelite in her youth. It was a life devoted to grueling work and prayer, meditation and silence. After two years as a Novitiate, she declined her final vows. But as long as I knew her, my beloved wife embodied the teachings of the The Little Flower and was a blessing to all who knew her. She did not gossip, kept secrets, was loyal and in spite of failing health, always eager to help and work hard. She remains my only devotion to this day. Bless those that carry on and bless her eternal soul.
PS: These Carmelites are fortunate, they make noise! In my wife's time you were frowned upon if you made noise while eating or if you were working. No idle chatter and TV and Radio were strictly rationed as were newspapers or magazines. Scrubbing floors on your knees and cooking with huge pots starting right after prayers and before Dawn.
Dearest Prof.Kishore Mahbubani,You are my most beloved Husband,I truly appreciate your kind, loving and admiring compliments you have for me. I am a Nun,Female Monk and also your most loving wife. I am your devoted wife. I practice my Nunhood, and I am also your sweet loving wife. You are my sweetheart. I cherish you very much my Divine Darling. You are my special gift from God. I as a Nun was absolutely devoted to God,as a reward for my devotion to God,you are the special reward sent by God to me. I adore you, love you and always will be with you. Thank you for your eulogy about me. You are Husband from Heaven. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH,PROF.KISHORE MAHBUBANI.YOUR MOST LOVING ASCETIC WIFE💛💙💖💚❤
I was raised in the convent by the Dominican Nuns. I cannot compare my life there with others who were raised in a "normal" home, but I can say that I was truly loved and cared for by them. I was educated by them and went on to receive my degree in medicine. I have never missed or wanted what I never had ... Parents. I consider myself lucky and very special to have been loved by these truly wonderful and caring people💕
Nicky Keightley, hello and greetings. May the good God continue to bless you the rest of your days, as indeed he has hitherto. Under his guiding hand may you be Great, Loving and caring in your medicine and your application thereof. Peace.
Do not underestimate the academic achievements of these women. They are sent to the best catholic universities in Europe, they need to master a minimum of 3 languages, they have to finish an academic degree before final vow. They have to study philosophy, theology, and biblical studies like priest before admittance to the professorium. They are not enslaved, ignorant of brainwashed. Monastic people like these women saved our western civilization together with monks.
Norlito Concepcion COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!! Except for the child In Africa who never heard of your god . He goes to eternal hell .. and the child who got molested by the monks he probly will be scared from the religon with severe ptsd and will have to go to enternall hell also for leaving other than that spot on!
I'm not catholic, im an evangelical Christian, but I respect these womens way of life and I can understand the choice to live a life set apart from the world devoted to God. Many might call it boring or pointless but it's not, not when you know Jesus, what a blessing it would be to grow closer to God without having to battle with the world holding you back.
James N Because evangelicals are still human beings who naturally want partnership and companionship with another person. As an atheist who studies science, unless the person is asexual/aromantic, it's a natural human instinct to be social. That's why most don't choose the nun lifestyle.
A classmate of mine went to join the Carmelite sisters after we graduated from high school. I never really talked to her a lot but she was pleasant to hang around with whenever I got the chance. She was always so quiet and was never really quick to anger when something went wrong. Most of the time in our classes she would be reading a book quietly to herself while everyone else was busy being noisy. She was a very strong Catholic. She’s always wanted to become a nun especially a Carmelite one. I may not be a strong believer in God but I know that she’ll find true peace and happiness in the sisterhood. I also know that she’s praying for me in there. She sacrificed a normal life to live this one. I hope to someday see her again. 🙂❤️
A friend of mine joined the Carmelite Order recently and I must say; the Sisters are the most beautiful, fulfilled, God-minded, miraculous people you will ever meet - if you get the opportunity to meet them. Praise God for them! They have more joy, more hope and more faith than anyone living on the outside. It's an strange and wonderful mystery - how God reveals Himself to a person in Secret.
I think it's horrible that so many people have such mean things to say. To live in such a way that brings pure joy to your heart and peace to your mind is a beautiful thing in this crazy and chaotic time we live in! May the Lord bless others through your devotion to Him in love and prayer! I got the calling when I was young but life took me on another path and now, as a married person I am falling in love with Jesus and contemplative prayer all over again!
I just want to thank you Carmelite sisters for all your sacrifices and prayers for all the people in the world. May God bless you sisters. Much love from Philippines ♥️
I remember going to visit some sisters in a carmelite convent a few years ago. It was my first time. They were beautiful. The light (Holy Spirit) shinning from their faces was incredible.
These nuns are great. I have met and spoken with some of them. Really nice considerate down to earth spiritual people who demonstrate true care, love and attention, along with prayer and good will for everyone. Pleasant, sincere, prayerful daughters of God. May Jesus bless and assist you in all your works and prayers.
Thank you sisters for hearing your calling from God to a contemplative prayer life. You are a part of the fabric that holds the world together. The only pity is that they're are not more cloisters over the globe doing these heroic acts of prayer. A sincere Thank You!
To all the people who can't understand why they want to stay away from the world, think about it like this: when you fall in love with someone, I bet you want to spend all your time with them. They are the centre of your life right? These nuns are in love with god. They want to talk to him. Be with him. Read works on him. His voice is clearest when they are in silent contemplation away from the world. They have a desire to know God, speak to him, to understand him. I think to a certain extent, most intorverts will be able to relate to the idea of being by yourself in the quietness. Some people enjoy it. It doesn't feel like a punishment.
True, when you have a relationship with God, the one who is the source of everything, you have everything in the castle of your heart as Saint Teresa of Ávila used to say.
It's not people behind phone and computer screens to judge what is a waste of life, and what is not. Thank you for providing insight into a different way of life.
After a crazy, long, hard day this brings me peace, and reminds me of God's love. Peace be with you, and all those who left hateful commets - peace be with you
A life of love and peace. The nuns do their very best, their faith is strong and they are to be admired. A non intrusive look at the Carmelite nuns and their lives within the cloisters of the abbey. It takes a very special type of person to become a nun, and I envy their tranquility and the pure love they have for God. In return, God blesses and supports them in their journey of life. God Bless these gentle ladies.
Instead of arguing, why don't you all just accept this video for what it is--a rare and beautiful glimpse of a community life of total self-offering to God.
I think many of you are forgetting that this is their choice. They want to do this. They have answered God’s call. I truly admire their sacrifice and dedication.
Embracing such kind of life is trully the grace from God cause no one could stay long to sacrifice of oneself for JESUS, it’s an extra ordinary gift which really i loved to those who are called with this kind of simple and holy life...God bless you Sisters continue to be the prayer warrior of the whole world ❤️🙏
My Dad's sister was a Poor Clair Nun in Manchester; yrs ago. They used to take when I was young to visit. We could only see through a wooden grate or cage. But they always made us refreshments with wonderful apple pies.
The elderly nun’s laugh is priceless, so full of pure innocence, joy and contentment. I’m hoping that the Lord will protect her and put her in safe hands, and when the time comes for her to meet him, that he and all the angels and saints will keep her in their loving arms forever. Amen
I had always wanted to be a nun. Im not catholic, but was struck by the devotion. When i was in first grade i would fast and read my bible during meal time to focus. I am so happy to find this...
I am personally not Catholic but these ladies are beautiful. When the sweet old lady with the hearing impairment said there’s only one thing we need to remember and that is that God loves you and wants you to love him back... truly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed.
So beautiful! I'm thinking about becoming a nun but I'm not sure if it's my path, so I'll just keep praying until it's clear what path God wants me to take.😊
Ask to join them for a little bit. Sometimes God just wants you to take action and Trust Him. Don’t get stuck in your head “thinking”. Living the life can make things clearer and you will quickly discover whether the life brings you joy.
You would’ve be able to watch Lord of the Rings! ;-) You could always be one of the non-cloistered nuns though, that out in the world. It may be less hard on you
I love the sisters, they are a shining light in an ever darkening world. I will pray for them as they pray for us. GOD keep them and protect their precious souls...+++
The elderly nun, what a character and what precision of thought! Profoundly deaf and immobile yet intellectually sparkling. You feel that she has lived to the full. No surprise that her young colleague sat at her feet, so to speak . . .
The sisters are laughing and talking to one another is the best part , they are people who choose to pray and loving god . By watching this video. i find peace in my heart!!
This is very graceful and beautiful to watch, thanks for this documentary. It brings peace to me, and it doesn't matter which religion you come from, the concept of having strong faith upon something much much more superior and benevolent than us and our knowledge will always bring comfort as an answer and something to grasp of the unknown.
I went to college in Loretto, Pennsylvania. US. It was a Franciscan coed college with a Carmelite Monastery nearby. I am thankful for this closer look at the institution and pray for the sisters there . God Bless you for showing us your world.
Why criticize, it is their personal choice for their own personal feelings of a greater good. Never had an insight on their lives. Much respect to these nuns.
What fullness of joy & life these sisters hold. The joy inside them is infectious. Love that gorgeous old nun with her mess comment & passion! What a blessing Christ’s Church is to this lost world. Pray for me sweet sisters!
Beautiful sisters! With love and respect! I hope that those with a misunderstanding of our faith can realize the beauty and simplicity of true life. God loves us. That’s powerful
These women are an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing this special and intimate part of your life with the world. God Bless each and every single one of you. You will always be in my prayers. I encourage you to continue on this journey of commitment to God. It must be such a gift to be able to spend so much time with the Lord and devote your entire being to Him.
I once went to school across the road from a Carmelite brotherhood building and I never thought of them. I used to sit early each morning in another building next to them (on the same side of the street) and never thought of them, but here I am nearing forty seven years of age (some thirty two years later) having failed at all I have turned my life towards and only now am I beginning to ask for guidance. I am thankful my ignorance and the ignorance of so many others (distracted by the mechanisms of society) does not have a negative effect upon such quiet and unimposing society, else they of commerce’s wheel with their ability to refuse us inclusion would mean an end to our inclusion in life’s path. Thank you for your remaining presence in our lives, even though we at times forget to pay you the proper attention. God bless LM
thank you Carmelite nuns for all your sacrifices along with all your prayers inside the monastery ❤️ i have 3 carmelite aunts and i appreciate all that you do. Godbless us all.
This is a lovely vocation, they live their lives in service to others through prayer! May God bless these women with continued joy and love. I admire how the elderly woman repeated the truth that, “God is Love!”
Bless you, Sisters, for your life of humility, self-sacrifice, and devotion. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf, and for your example of faithful service to Christ.
I am not Catholic but I am a Christian and enjoyed this very much. I have a good friend that is Catholic and have attended novenas by our local Carmelite nuns.
I watch this video at least 3 times a day. It has helped me so much with my discernment. Life at Carmel is truly beautiful! It's amazing to see God work through these wonderful women!
Dear Sisters, I serve the poorest people with special needs in Sri Lanka. May I request your prayers for God's abundant blessings. Love & Peace to All.
I don’t know how anyone could make horrid comments about these women. They are right that our world is a mess. They share their lives once in nearly 100 and they are insulted and slandered! They are praying, living very simple lives in the name of their God. Why that attracts insults is beyond my comprehension. The film was lovely and peaceful- thank you nuns for the insight.
What beautiful ladies. The world needs more Nuns with love and understanding for us all. I particularly enjoyed the last of the Sisters to talk, who was being helped by the much younger one. What a wise woman. God bless and keep them all. In the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Wow. Why does their seem to be so much hate and judgments for how they are living? This is very much how I would like life in a home to be. It isn't depressing. It is simple. And as St. Therese of Liseaux said, God loves simplicity and the simple.
Fellow Protestants, if you hate nuns and Catholics so much, why even watch this video? There are millions and millions of videos on UA-cam, I'm sure there are a few out there that will fit nicely into your narrow world view. Or, perhaps on the other hand, you might consider the fact that "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved"--and I'm pretty sure that covers most sincere Catholics quite nicely. These are women who have devoted their lives to Christ; and whether or not you agree with their method, you have to admire their dedication and love for Him. Jesus said everyone would know His disciples by their love, and yet what I see in this comment section doesn't look at all like love in comparison to what these women are doing. I'm not calling you unsaved, but encouraging you to search your own heart and ask: who is behaving like the true Christian here?
Having now finished watching the documentary all I can say is: if you're a Christian, and you can't see love for God and Christ pouring out of these beautiful women, I don't know what to say to you.
Lets just pray for those people who curse and persecute us, Because we all knew the true Christianity is not just using a lots of words but it is by action accordingly.. Catholic beliefs represent of God's love, to be holy and saints as what the apostles of Jesus did, and i saw in this video having humbled heart and deeply in love to Jesus,in other term this is the way to remain in his love and to remain in HIM...Viva Kristo!🙏
this is the worst comment section i have ever seen. i am, in fact, sort of surprised to see so many hateful athiests/agnostics. these women are perfectly happy with what they are doing, and why are yall so bothered by it? im agnostic too, but i dont badger others happiness. just because it’s not YOUR type of lifestyle, doesn’t mean others dont find contentment and happiness in it. get your head out of your asses and earn the respect you declare for.
shoji it makes me want to cry.. I’ve never been very religious. But I at least respect others and I wish others would do the same.. these ladies seem genuine and good people from what I’ve seen. Yet nothing but hateful comments towards them... it’s sad....
The comment sections on "save your soul from satan" and "atheist questions" videos are 100% arguments. I don't recommend it unless you want debates but that's about 25%.
They hate those who have proven to have lived a life of peace, serenenity, and camaraderie in the light of Christ because they themselves can't have it. So they debase those who do.
God bless these woman ! I have always felt bad for the sisters outside of st mother Theresa and a few catholic saints seldom to these woman get open praise for their works of prayer , sacrifice , and devotion . I am grateful that there are sisters praying for the world most of their days and doing the work of the lord god bless
Thank you so much for the beautiful video. Especially loved the elderly sister near the end and her incredible simplicity going straight to the heart of the most important matters. Bless you all.
Honestly, this looks like an extremely peaceful, lovely existence. No children, no debts, no stress. Just spend the entire day getting close to God without distraction:-) I think more parents should be saints.
I admire them and could feel entirely homely in a place such as that, some people really don’t understand. Living a full life doesn’t have to be wild nor out there but simply living doing what makes you feel completed and whole. For some that is going out, having tons of friends, vacations, the nuclear family scenario. But as with these women, they found passion in their faith and I think frankly it’s amazing how they found it in themselves to live this way in how I wish I could.
My mother is 72 years of age now, and in her existence she never absent going to the Catholic church, and during 6am and 6 in the evening we all knelt down to do the Holy Rosary ,,,this is how our parents build us,and I am so thankful to my mama and papa for they did their best to guide us in Godly ways, and I believe that we don't need to under intimate or judge any religious groups, just to bring our self up and put down the others, perhaps we should respect each other as the way we spread the love by our understanding and respect , after all God sees our heart not our religion. God bless us all...🙏
@@youtubeuser1432 In your belief and mind that's what you think about catholic, who are you to criticize us, any religion can't save us from sin, can't make u a saint, but in your strong faith and devotion, living in Godly ways sharing the love and blessings to one another it is. I think you know better who speaks the evil words and evil ways. God bless to you...
@Masferlamb 7 thanks 💗 I'm from The Philippines, Christianity here is going stronger, the devotions and church activities are all active, Glory to God that most of the youth are very responsible to the church activities, My the Power of the Lord Jesus will Reign To everyone. GOD BLESS 🙏
have you thoughts about the rampant sexual abuse scandals that happened by catholic clergy throughout the highest ranks? and is still covered up? with nothing substantial done about it? abuse that is most likely still taking place today.. and will continue.. because Catholics aren't supposed to question their religious leaders???
The elderly nun towards the end starts off sounding confused, then talks of God made us to be loved and to love him! She does a better job preaching than anyone I've heard before! 👍👍👍
God Bless the Sisters..especially the elder sister who despite being hard at hearing is the most full off faith, wisdom, dignity, and kindness. mad respect and love!!
The older I get i find these people more valuable.. They have no idea about reddit, google, UA-cam, politics... It's refreshing listening to people outside of it all..
I love Carmelite Nuns.❤❤❤ I'm from the Philippines. Please include me in your daily prayer for my total healing and complete recovery may arrive on me. I am a paraplegic patient.♿
i didnt watch the whole video but the starting 2 mins feels very clam to me..it feels good when people follow their own religion..i belong to sikh religion and m not christian..but i really respect these sisters from core of my heart! 🤗
It takes great courage true faith in God and in your self to be able to live a life like this. So true simplicity gives you truth. I am speechless and I truly admire them!!!
What ultimate wisdom from the elderly, deaf sister, at 16.05 onward. We should all listen to her. Her asides to the camera operator had me in stitches and then tears.

Such beautiful women. God bless every single one of them.
The deaf nun at the end...wise lovely lady..God loves us and wants to be loved back ❤❤❤❤
What fullness of joy & life these sisters hold.
I am a non-Catholic, but I have nothing but respect for these sisters.
Maggie Sue you’re always welcomed home to the Catholic Church.
Gretchen B R- Men to that x
This was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. God bless these beautiful women.
Thank you for your remaining presence in our lives,
even though we at times forget to pay you the proper attention.
God bless
LM

Your words are filled with humility and inspiration. Much respect to you;
and God bless.
Sisters, Thank you for your prayers.the whole world needs our prayers more than ever God bless you, I Love so much
thank you Carmelite nuns for all your sacrifices along with all your prayers inside the monastery ❤️
i have 3 carmelite aunts and i appreciate all that you do. Godbless us all.
Not what I expected at all. Actually quite touching and really beautiful.
All of these nuns will shine like the stars in Heaven. God bless all of you and I love all of you.
Etuale Malelega Amen!
God bless all these beautiful sisters for their hard work and dedication toward God and people. 💓🌻
This is a freaking cult, there is nothing in the bible that God needs women in cults for his glory.
dedication to being a nurse in a hospital ? or singing ?
This is a lovely vocation, they live their lives in service to others through prayer! May God bless these women with continued joy and love. I admire how the elderly woman repeated the truth that, “God is Love!”
Prayer?? Really????
They are our Prayer Warriors. God Bless you, dear sisters!
Bless you, Sisters, for your life of humility, self-sacrifice, and devotion. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf, and for your example of faithful service to Christ.
I am an atheist who is touched by the innocence and deep devotion of these women. The elderly nun is so cute.
I am not Catholic but I am a Christian and enjoyed this very much. I have a good friend that is Catholic and have attended novenas by our local Carmelite nuns.
"I am not Catholic but I am Christian"...
Aren't Catholics Christians?
What is making you hesitant to become a Catholic? Just curious. :)
janice w you should become Catholic. I was Protestant and becoming Catholic is the best thing the Holy Spirit ever led me to do
Thanks for appreciating something different than what you may otherwise experience or know.
I watch this video at least 3 times a day. It has helped me so much with my discernment. Life at Carmel is truly beautiful! It's amazing to see God work through these wonderful women!
Beautiful and touching insight into the daily lives of the beloved Sisters- much love to you all, God Bless xxx
Dear Sisters, I serve the poorest people with special needs in Sri Lanka. May I request your prayers for God's abundant blessings. Love & Peace to All.
Even im poor in spirit hope for getting better , and please pray for me to overcome my disbelieve and sin , please pray for me 😞
God bless these ladies!! true inspirations 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I don’t know how anyone could make horrid comments about these women. They are right that our world is a mess. They share their lives once in nearly 100 and they are insulted and slandered!
They are praying, living very simple lives in the name of their God.
Why that attracts insults is beyond my comprehension.
The film was lovely and peaceful- thank you nuns for the insight.
people with no heart or soul to understand
Haters hate. Pray for them.
They pray extra for those in need of it.
I'm sure I don't have to say more.🙏🏻
+Dottor B l agree whith you whole heartadly
I just loved the Nun who kept saying the world is a mess.
What beautiful ladies. The world needs more Nuns with love and understanding for us all. I particularly enjoyed the last of the Sisters to talk, who was being helped by the much younger one. What a wise woman. God bless and keep them all. In the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Honestly I feel better when I actually pray or attend church to actually listen and pray, it's like a meditation really.
it's not often we get to see this glimpse in the life of a convent. Never mind the negative comments from people. Thank you for this.
oops, I mean monastery!
I hear you about the comments section. This is why some catholic sites simply disable the comments section.
Wow.
Why does their seem to be so much hate and judgments for how they are living?
This is very much how I would like life in a home to be.
It isn't depressing. It is simple.
And as St. Therese of Liseaux said, God loves simplicity and the simple.
So beautiful,so peacefull. They look so happy, they are so loved we all are 💖 God bless nuns
What a privilege to see these sisters in their daily lives. I feel moved and deeply touched by their dedication.
Yet nothing but hateful comments towards them... it’s sad....
uninstall your genomes
Sal C. did that one make u feel big n bad? jealousy is a disease bitch, get better soon xx
Respect and love ,from a Muslim brother, for these honourable sisters❤
Bless you!
"simplicity gives you truth". I love that
Thank you so much for the beautiful video. Especially loved the elderly sister near the end and her incredible simplicity going straight to the heart of the most important matters. Bless you all.
I so loved these sisters. Thank you for praying for us and the world. May the Lord continue to bless each of you with good health & love😍🙏🙏
God bless you all and thank you for your commitment to our Lord and your dedicating your lives to Christ. Please pray for me and all of those in need!
I love the Carmalites, was raised around them. It was an honor👏
me too..I studied in a school run by Carmelite sisters!
May God bless every one there because this is not a waist of time it's something hidden this is something reality and beautiful, wonderful for God
God bless us all...🙏
She didn't build you. She just taught you. Catholicism isnt for God and jesus. It's for the devil himself.
@@laus9953 we do.....all the time you think Catholics celebrate the disgusting paedophiles in the church?????????
The elderly nun towards the end starts off sounding confused, then talks of God made us to be loved and to love him! She does a better job preaching than anyone I've heard before! 👍👍👍
God Bless the Sisters..especially the elder sister who despite being hard at hearing is the most full off faith, wisdom, dignity, and kindness. mad respect and love!!
Truly beautiful video. How peaceful and happy they truly are. The elderly sister at the end summed it all up. God is love😊
Some really meanspirited comments here. This was a really lovely little film
I agree It is sad and distressing that so many have nothing but nastiness to spew on a otherwise beautiful and inspiring film.
@An Easy-Bake Oven Atheists would be better to listen to than these judgmental supposed Christians
The older I get i find these people more valuable..
They have no idea about reddit, google, UA-cam, politics... It's refreshing listening to people outside of it all..
This was peaceful to watch. Thank you sisters and who made this, God bless.
GametillGrave hair is Holy especially pubic hair
It takes great courage true faith in God and in your self to be able to live a life like this. So true simplicity gives you truth. I am speechless and I truly admire them!!!
Life of prayer and service. If only more of us were like this.
Regardless of your beliefs, you can’t help but admire the love, dedication, and sacrifice these beautiful souls give for their god, so beautiful ❤️
This is my favourite video about the religious life. I particularly loved listening to the elderly sister.
What ultimate wisdom from the elderly, deaf sister, at 16.05 onward. We should all listen to her. Her asides to the camera operator had me in stitches and then tears.
