Reminds me of J.K Krishnamurti, the observer is the observed and there’s no separation between. Thinking and they are separate creates all kind of dysfunctions. Prof. Sam, since you are also into literature, philosophy, physics, psychology, would you be interested in making a video which combines the works of people like and not limited to Krishnamurti, Alan Watts, Lao Tzu, Suzuki… with your work and modern psychology and some other insights of your own? Thank you for your consideration
I know it’s just semantics, but I think of my “self” as the one conditioned by the past and genetic tendencies and the “observer” as more neutral and less judgmental. But hey, that’s just the soup I cooked up. My observer feels more authentic and open, like child
Wonderful, Professor. This is absolutely right. Ancient Indian philosophy. Please see the confirmation of your ideas in these texts: Amritabindu Upanishad and Ashtavakra Gita.
What is your take on transexualism and body dysmorphia according to your model? I would like an exploration on mismatch between the visual perception of the self, and the physical aspect of it. Some even claim to be animals trapped in human bodies (although it is socially acceptable to mock such statements).
I’ve listened to hundreds of hours of Sam’s videos.
He is brilliant, and his information has helped me significantly.
Please make more videos with this recording setup! Camera and microphone quality’s very clear so I can follow along much better 😄
So good, as always!
I love these videos!!!
You and me both! 😃
This lecture series is very helpful ❤

I had a look at Jacques Lacan, and indeed you might as well be his reincarnation !
Thus..I sleep with a 30lb. Weighted blanket..It works wonders for deep sleep as well as giving a sense of security and safety.🎉

I've learned to self censor, so my 'reality' comments and observations won't offend. Living my life with tongue in cheek most of the time.LOL😅
