When I was in high school in 1984 this song was HUGE. On the school bus there was a stereo system, and our bus driver was a really cool lady in her 40’s that would play the Accept cassette this song was on and blast it. It was hilarious to see some of the parents outside when the school bus would drive down their street with metal and hard rock blasting from a huge yellow school bus full of teenagers.
Our bus driver did the same thing for us! Loved those guys! We had a sub once that was wearing a biker vest and had a long pony tail And none if us knew what go think of him. He hit a huge tree root backing up to turn around at the first stop and the whole bus rocked back and forth causing all of us in the back to let out loud WHOAS!!! He looked back in the big mirror at us was and yelled, hey man its only rock and roll! Then threw it in drive and took off with the music cranked. 😂 We knew this guy was going to be cool after that
I was 13 & saw them this tour open for somebody? Anybody remember? I was a fan of "Fast As A Shark" before this album hit. Then I heard Slayer!😅 Rock On! 🤘🌎❤
I always say that Udo Dirkschneider's voice is a cross between Bon Scott and Brian Johnson! Also, never expected this reaction to happen and I am glad that you guys did. Accept and U.D.O. gets so slept on. They're such underrated bands that I have loved since a kid.
Disagree. Udo was his own thing. I don't think he sounds at all like Bon Scott. He screamed a bit like Brian Johnson - after he lost his vocal range - maybe. Udo's voice had more in common with 80's comedian Sam Kinison.
Considering the title of this song, this would be a very appropriate time to recommend the hilarious and double entendre filled "Big Balls" from the one and only AC/DC!!
Amen to that. I don't listen to a lot of Heavy Metal but my husband and daughter who is almost 16. She's been listening to that music since I was pregnant with her.
Their 1982 song "Fast as a Shark" had some of the fastest double bass drum of it's time. It was a very influential song which paved a new way for the entire Heavy Metal genre.
In college my downstairs neighbors were jocks, who partied late into the night. I had a pretty good stereo system, and would lay the speakers face down on the floor and play Fast As A Shark at full volume…including the German hi di hi do intro. Usually they got the point and would quiet down.
I had this cassette when it came out in 1984. I stayed with my grandparents for the summer to help them out as my grandpa was legally blind due to diabetes. One day we went to the store; my grandma went in to get groceries while grandpa and I sat in the car. I popped this cassette in the tape deck and this song came on. My grandpa was sitting there listening to that heavy, epic Accept sound . . . especially that chorus. He loved music and had been a member of a male a cappella choir. All the sudden he starts singing that anthemic chorus in his soprano voice like he was singing with his choir, "Balls to the wall . . . You get your balls to the wall man!" It was so awesome! I will never forget that. He passed away four years later. Thanks J and Amber for bringing back that good memory again!
Accept is iconic as a heavy metal band from Germany... By coincidence, they were fans of AC/DC and even recorded a song that AC/DC demoed in the 70's w/ Bon Scott but never recorded, written by Angus and Malcolm's brother Alexander Young - "I'm a rebel" 🔥 Strangely, AC/DC released the 'Ballbreaker' album in 1995 ('Balls to the wall' was in 1983) and had a similar concept of a wrecking ball w/ Angus Young riding it 😲
Omg finally!! Thank you for reacting to this. I’m glad y’all enjoyed it! I recommend to listen to the whole song with the lyrics. Thank you and have a bless day! 😊
German band Knorkator is really good too. The video for "Komm Wieder Her (Come Back Again) is hilarious. I've made a translation, a while ago. I put them in the comments.

Metal Heart has two classical pieces covered in the guitar solo. One Tchaikovskiy's Slavonic March (intro) and Beethoven's Fur Elise (main riff and solo)
i love you. This song is pure love for all metal classic lovers. You Konw the "Helix - Wild In The Streets" a group metal classic of 80's! Great vibes!

As a teen in the mid 80s this song was my intro to Accept. However, my first a album was "Restless and Wild". The very first song on the album is "Fast As A Shark". What an intro to an album. I saw Accept in 1985 opening for Krokus (Swedish band) at the Lloyd Noble Center. We were on the floor about 15 feet from the wall of speakers off stage left. I couldn't hear well out of that ear for about a week. This video is the short version of the song, typical of the era. Midnight Mover is another good, fast paced video of theirs.
First time I ever heard this song (1983), I was sitting in my car with a few of my buddies, in the hills overlooking the SF Bay Area, with a fantastic view of Oakland and San Francisco, snacking on chips, salsa and cheese dip. ALL OF US thought (wrongly, obviously) that it was a brand-new AC/DC song!

That would be great - I would just be happy if they would do Felder's title track. There are several videos set to movie clips. Sammy Hagar's version isn't bad either.@@markv1113
That was great, 100% a legendary metal classic for sure 🤟For another German band you have to do *Warlock.* Female lead singer btw, and she's dope. Queen of metal. Give _"All We Are"_ a try 🙏 Btw *Scorpions* are also German
Perhaps the ultimate "banger." Saw these guys with Motley Crue and Ozzy back in 1984...GREAT triple bill! UDO stalked the stage in his camo like a caged tiger, yelping out Balls to the Wall, London Leatherboys and Princess of the Dawn!!
So cool that you did Accept. I had all their albums. Probably the biggest fan in Canada. Udo, the lead singer has a classic heavy metal voice. You have to listen to his duet ballet with Doro. Dancing with an Angel. Hilarious to have a ballot song with that gravel truck voice.
Ya'll have done the Scorpions. They are German as well. I suggest "DA DA DA" by Trio( not metal) but a German group(1982) Would love to see ya'lls reaction to that 😂
I'm thinkin' it was around 83 when I seen Accept and Def Leppard open for Judas Priest, it was in Rüsselsheim Germany. Oh and it was a heck of a show it's in my top 5!
Saw Accept perform "Balls to the Wall" at the Monsters of Rock concert at Karlsruhe West Germany in 1984. It was an awesome concert with a long list of top bands.
If you didn't know this I thought you folks might find it interesting “Balls to the wall” is an idiom that refers to a maximum commitment or effort, such as going full throttle 1. The phrase originates from aviation, where the throttle and fuel-air mixture controls were shafts with balls on the ends to serve as handles. Pushing them toward the firewall (the “wall”) resulted in maximum fuel flow with a fuel-rich mixture flowing into the engine 12. The phrase would appear in slang during the 1960s 2.
Very cool of you to react to this great track! Not one that one would expect to be played in this format. Jay and Amber you and the RSR family have made my day! Big smiles, Thanx so much!
I was the only kid of color bi racial in my rural Wisconsin school district K-12, this was one of my favorites, I got the full experience 1976-1989 😄🤘👍🤷♂️ all love to my small town 🥰
Classic rock!!! I saw them in concert in 1984 at Timber Ridge in Kalamazoo Michigan. 7 total bands there. Accept, Ratt, Motley Crue, Night Ranger, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne and Triumph. All day concert for only $20. Those were the days!!! You should check out another song by Accept. Too High To Get It Right.
When this singer, Udo Dirkschneider, left the band they hired Mark Tornillo from New Jersey. Mark was in Jersey Shore mainstay band called TT Quick for many years. Mark’s voice is very similar to Udo’s and they’ve been putting out albums fairly regularly with him.
David Reece from Bangalore Choir was UDO's replacement on the "Eat the heat " album and then he got booted and they went their ways for years , UDO went on to release the classic Animal House album after he left .
When metal/rock/punk fused were my favorite period of music. Judas Priest, Pink Floyd, AC/DC etc just spreadout their wings and took us to place you could only visit once. We got to be young then, so we can enloy it now with our youth. ❤
Met a girl on Heavy Metal Night at a local bar while this was playing. Made her my wife 34 years ago and it drives her crazy when I tell people this is our song!
This is a real 80's heavy metal song because it's difficult to understand what he's saying. Probably the best part of the song is when the 3 guitarists are playing one after the other. Or when the lead singer says: "You'll get your balls to the wall!"
A really good head banging, fist pumping song by Accept is "Teutonic Terror"! Other good classic power metal bands are Manowar, Malice, T.T. Quick, and Sanctuary.
When I was in high school in 1984 this song was HUGE. Hell yeah! Also Princess of the Dawn, Flash Rockin Man, Fight it Back
Fast As A Shark is a must hear from Accept.
“Restless and Wild” is a great Accept song, but I think “Princess of the Dawn” is my favorite.
I thought about requesting this one but I didn't think you would do it. What will Amber's mom think? 😆 Now you need to do Don Felder's "Heavy Metal".
Can you imagine them watching the animated "Heavy Metal" (1981) ? LOL
That is SUCH an awesome film.
That would be great - I would just be happy if they would do Felder's title track. There are several videos set to movie clips. Sammy Hagar's version isn't bad either.@@markv1113
Awesome band
Midnight mover is another banger from Accept
That was great, 100% a legendary metal classic for sure 🤟For another German band you have to do *Warlock.* Female lead singer btw, and she's dope. Queen of metal. Give _"All We Are"_ a try 🙏 Btw *Scorpions* are also German
More Scorpions would be great
When Amber first started coming on I never thought she would be digging some Accept. You go girl!
Princess of the dawn.
Scorpions - "Still Loving You" is amazing. LOVE Accept!
Balls to the wall refers to banging your head (ball) =)
Make sure to check out the studio version! This is the edited version and comes up short unfortunately. This whole album rocks just like this one!
Yeah where was the plug a bomb in everyone's ass ?
Yeah! the spoken part gets left out and then idiots think they are singing about actual balls .
Accept - Princess of the Dawn is a terrific cut from this band! It's EPIC
I am most envious! What a killer bill!
I saw that tour up in Boston Mass. 🔥🔥❤️🤘🏼
@@MikeOstrowski-iq8wf Ace! I live in NH and head down there for stuff very frequently.
You should check out
Greta Van Fleet - Meeting the Master 🙏🏻🙏🏻
So cool that you did Accept. I had all their albums. Probably the biggest fan in Canada. Udo, the lead singer has a classic heavy metal voice.
You have to listen to his duet ballet with Doro. Dancing with an Angel. Hilarious to have a ballot song with that gravel truck voice.
Ya'll have done the Scorpions. They are German as well. I suggest "DA DA DA" by Trio( not metal) but a German group(1982) Would love to see ya'lls reaction to that 😂
They have done Falco as well
I'm thinkin' it was around 83 when I seen Accept and Def Leppard open for Judas Priest, it was in Rüsselsheim Germany. Oh and it was a heck of a show it's in my top 5!
Can you checkout Meeting The Master by Greta Van Fleet! Their new album just came out and it’s awesome!
Funny that you compared them to AC/DC, I always felt the same. I was able to see them open for AC/DC back in 1985. Awesome show. Perfect pairing.
Will you review AC DC's Big Balls?
Oh yes! ACDC's Big Balls, 1976. Please put that one up cause I look forward to your expressions.😂
Original singer, Bon Scott.
Graduated in 84, these guys!! Also, this was when MTV was something!!! They actually played music videos back then. Udo fucking rocks🤘
Yes! One of the best songs of my high school years!!!
Very cool of you to react to this great track! Not one that one would expect to be played in this format. Jay and Amber you and the RSR family have made my day! Big smiles, Thanx so much!
This song is a Heavy Metal Anthem. Lead guy is Udo Dirkschnieder. The song rocks hard to this day!!!!
Holy shit... you have me drooling. That must've been f'ing amazing.
I went to that all day concert on a ski hill in Michigan).
This video is where the term "headbanger" came from.
It was about East Berlin and West Germany! Great band
When i first heard this I thought it was acdc because of the singer's voice sounds so similer.
This is a real 80's heavy metal song because it's difficult to understand what he's saying. Probably the best part of the song is when the 3 guitarists are playing one after the other. Or when the lead singer says: "You'll get your balls to the wall!"
They originated in the 60’s. As “X” or “Band X”. They didn’t start releasing stuff as Accept and kinda changed their sound until the late 70’s.
A really good head banging, fist pumping song by Accept is "Teutonic Terror"! Other good classic power metal bands are Manowar, Malice, T.T. Quick, and Sanctuary.
I graduated from high school in 1985 and that summer I saw Accept open for Iron Maiden. Thanks for bringing back some good memories!
It’s been so long since I’ve heard this I don’t remember if I ever knew this wasn’t AC/DC 😏
This brings me back to grade 11. Loved this band. Udo rocked! Such a great band. Metal music was great in the 80’s. This music kicked ass!!!!!
The old WWII aircrafts had ball like tops to their throttle controls... so " balls to the walls" meant full speed.
