So here is a fact for you. The lead singer, Kevin Dubrow has a younger brother named Terry Dubrow. He is one of the surgeons on the show Botched on TV. When Kevin would go on tour with Quiet Riot, younger brother Terry would watch his pet cat. He would get paid $5,000-$10,000 each time and that's how Terry paid his way through medical school. I saw Quiet Riot live in 1983.

I'll never forget how she was ahead of me and Kevin DuBrow's eyes followed her backside all the way out of the store before he even noticed me (disappointingly). Glad I got to tell her the story at a reunion years later.

Quiet Riot was Randy's band. When he left to play for Ozzy, he gave Kevin Dubrow the rights to the band name at no cost, or so I heard or read somewhere.
Kelly Garni is the original bassist of Quiet Riot that played on the first 2 albums with Randy that were released in Japan. Rudy is pictured on the cover of the second album but he did not play on it.
Quiet Riot was the first metal band to hit #1 on Billboard's hot 200. That started the metal craze of the 80s. Heavy Metal got huge for the rest of the decade.
Kevin Dubrow is the singer. This album "Metal Health" was the very first heavy metal album to be #1 on the billboard 200 charts in November 1983. It was the catalyst that opened the door for the hair metal/glam metal popularity in the 1980's. "Cum on feel the noize" and this song were massive hits from that album.
Outside of the 2 Slade covers they did, this was their biggest original hit song. Slick Black Cadillac is a banger as well. Speaking of Slade you should give them a listen. I think Run Runaway would be the perfect introduction to them.
Kevin Dubrow is the voice ( deceased) Bass player extraordinaire-Rudy Sarzo Lead Guitar- Carlos Cavazo Drums- Frankie Banali ( deceased) great band , great energy, their claim to fame was they were the first heavy metal band to top the Billboard album chart. This song just drives the soul into overdrive….
Watch the documentary “Now you’re here, there’s no way back.” Covers Kevin’s death, & Frankie’s struggle to find a new lead singer to keep the band alive & touring. It was a couple years ago, originally on Showtime I think?
You heard it correct Amber. "Metal Heath will Cure Your Crazy; Metal Heath will Cure Your Mad; Metal Heath is what we all Need. It's like a heart Attack." Such an iconic Album cover.
Kevin Dubrow is the singer. Metal Health is the name of the album. First metal album to hit no. 1! This was my very first concert. I was 14. 11th row center! Wow! Great show!
Hey Jordan and Amber, interesting fact for you: Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, Randy Rhodes, who played guitar in Ozzy's song " Crazy Train" was the original lead guitarist for Quiet Riot, he was offered the chance to return to the band after he'd finished touring with Ozzy, but he'd died in the plane crash and they'd selected Carlos Cavazo to be the guitarist of the band and would record the song6 "Thunderbird" as a tribute to Randy
Did not know the song was dedicated to RR. Sure I have heard it but I would have been around 16 at the time and don't recall. Going to take a listen. Thanks!!!
That is normal Music for me , my start as a Metalhead was 1980 , that is my Song of Life : Bang your head , Today I ' m 56 years old strong love to Heavy Metal Music
Quiet Riot was on everybody's lips in 1983, after their breakout album spawned this song and "Cum On Feel the Noize". Sadly, their second album wasn't as successful, though it did have one hit single "Mama Weer All Crazee Now". After that, they kinda flamed out. All us old headbangers still remember them, though. Ever sadder, we lost lead singer Kevin Dubrow in 2007 at the age of 52.
Actually "Critical Condition" is considered album #4. While the songs on it may have not been as good as those on Metal Health they are still pretty good.
yeah I remember going to an 80s hair band reunion concert in my hometown it was quiet riot cinderella and ratt then a week later I saw where kevin died on the tour bus that hit hard with me cause me and a couple of family members saw him for the last time
🤘🤘 BANG YOUR HEAD!!! Lead singer is the late Kevin DuBrow. This was their biggest original song. Cum on Feel the Noise and Mama ,Weer All Crazy Now were both covers.
Wife here...Quiet Riot really doesn"t get the credit they deserve as one of the very first extremely popular 80"s metal bands.. interesting fact: The lead singers !brother is one of the very famous doctors of the original "Botched" reality show!! Awesome reaction!!
A little history fact about Quiet Riot is that the late great guitarist for Ozzy Osborne.....Randy Rhodes was the co-founder with lead singer the late Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot when they were in high school together. R.I.P. Randy and Kevin.
Saw them in Germany, 1984. They opened for they opened for The Pretenders. It was an awesome concert!! They sold the sleeveless black and white t-shirts that the lead singer wore at the venue. Everybody was wearing them, including me!
At a Quiet Riot concert in San Diego (the last tour with Kevin Dubrow before he died) I had my greatest pickup ever. Short story, I was at the front of the stage and this gorgeous woman I had been making eye contact with for awhile, made her way over to me, tapped me on the shoulder, and when I turned around, instead of kissing me, she gave me a little headbutt right on the forehead. I thought that was the coolest move ever. She then walked back to where she was before. When I turned back to the stage Carlos Cavazo (the guitar player) was looking at me like "what tge hell just happened?" After the show was over we walked up to each other and left together. Great night.
Jay's expression when they went into the break, was a "riot". Pun intended. 😂 Great reaction guys! Quiet Riot is definitely a fire band! Next up could be "Slick Black Cadillac". "Mama, we're all crazy now" or "Party all night". But; to hear their slower side, check out "Thunderbird". 🤘😎
The 80's was the best decade for music, hands down! It had EVERYTHING...., borrowing from what came before, creating new genres and sounds, and setting the stage for all that would come later. So fortunate to have been a teenager in the 80's....hanging on to that forever!
Nah, musicianship had dropped off by the 80's. It was getting too hard for kids to play, keeping up with the Jimmy Page's, the Clapton's, Frampton's, Van Halen's, it was drift into simpler music. I love the 80's but the extreme virtuosity was for the most part gone. This song is indicative. My 12 year old can playe this, he isn't going to learn and jam through Sultans of Swing in an evening.
This was what started the early 80s metal scene for me. Moved to Saudi Arabia in 1979 (at9yr) moved back to Texas in 1983 and this was the hottest sound going IMO.
For any “Real Housewives of the O.C.” here, Kevin Dubrow’s brother is Terry Dubrow who is also a famous plastic surgeon on the show Botched. Wild the different paths they took. Amazing band and reaction!!
After all these years, this song NEVER gets old. So excellent to see your reaction to this! I don't know anyone who was a teenager in the 80's who didn't love this song, and of course we reacted in similar fashion. Thank you for keeping the music of my youth banging on. 🤘
This song, this album paved the way for 80s metal. Before this record companies thought that rock was dead. When this album went #1 that's when record execs started sending people to the clubs on the Sunset Strip to "discover" bands like Motley Crue, W.A.S.P., Van Halen, etc.
@@opencarrier8607 Van Halen debuted in 1978. They, along with AC/DC and ZZ Top carried hard rock through the "easier listening" (Air Supply, Kenny Rogers, Juice Newton) early 80's but it's WELL documented that this album is what jump-started the 80's metal movement.
I may be 20 years older, but I was brought up soft rock music like Amber. MTV did "Head Bangers Ball" in the evening. My sweet dad who raised me on the Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel would record it for my twin sister and me. My parents were the best!😉
Kevin DuBrow had one of the more unique voices in rock. Frankie was an amazing drummer. Rudy is one of the most prolific bass players around, having played with QR, Ozzy, Whitesnake, and more. And Carlos is truly one of the most underrated guitarists of the rock era. Quiet Riot were a huge influence on me and many other young musicians.
My ex and i used to play this album when the kids were babies and they'd bang their heads with us lmao. One of my fondest memories of early motherhood. Those babies are 20 and 15 now. Ha us gen-x parents really have a different yardstick i think. ;)
I agree , took my daughter with me to her first concert when she was 12 , took her to see the big black Sabbath reunion tour during early to mid 90s. My mother was horrified that her grandbaby was taken to see Ozzy
This is another great one that takes me back. When we moved to Florida in 76, i was 7 and my parents started dragging me to this little church, and all of a sudden i wasn't "allowed" to listen to any good music at home, or see any of the epic movies. This is from FOOTLOOSE, but also, going to the county fair in Eustis Florida, riding the gravitron, and THIS song was jamming. Great memories.
Saw these guys open for Loverboy back in 83’. It was a fantastic concert. The 80’ was an incredible time, especially when it was your High School and College years!
Glad you guys loved it. This is what metal music was all about in the early 80s. Banging drums, a pounding bass, a screaming lead guitar with awesome riffs (even better if there are more than one like with Judas Priest and Iron Maiden), and a screaming lead singer. Also, is it bad that I still know all of the words to this song, sang them in time to the video, and even included the screams?
You guys should react to more Quiet Riot… "Slick Black Cadillac", "The Wild & The Young", "Mama, We Are All Crazy Now", "Party All Night", "The Joker", "Stay With Me Tonight", "Callin' the Shots", "Don't Wanna Let You Go" 🎸🤘
The original title of the song and the album was actually "Metal Health." Later you would see the song listed as "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)," then it became what you see today "Bang Your Head (Metal Health)." This song along with "Cum on Feel the Noise" resulted in the album becoming the first heavy metal album to hit number one on the album chart, but many others would follow. Eventually leading to the point where Skid Row's second album, "Slave to the Grind" became the first heavy metal album to debut at the number one position. The title track to that album is one you should definitely react to also. I'd have to go look through your videos to be sure, but I think it would probably be the heaviest song you've reacted to so far. And as always, Sebastian Bach's vocals on that track are amazing.
There were more “metal” bands and songs than Quiet Riot and Metal Health, but to me this is THE perfect Heavy Metal Anthem. And say what you want about their music and lack of longevity, but they put Heavy Metal into the mainstream when this album became the first metal album to go #1 on the Billboard Top 200. And there’s no better name for a metal band IMO.
Metal Health is a fabulous album from end to end. I had this on vinyl and played the heck out of it. Loved Quiet Riot. Too bad Kevin and Frankie have passed.
The lead singer is Kevin Dubrow, who passed some years ago, unfortunately (RIP). This group also included bass player Rudy Sarzo, who also played with Whitesnake and Dio, among other bands. The late, great guitarist Randy Rhoda’s was also in Quiet Riot in a couple of its early years. They were formed in the 1970s but didn’t gain much popularity until the ‘80s…..there was a rumored rivalry with Van Halen as well, mixed in their somewhere.
Omg, LOOOOVE this reaction!!! And I can't help but appreciate your musical evolution, and how delighted I am that you're reacting to this song NOW, as opposed to at the beginning of the channel, before Amber came on board, where I could imagine J might've been like "Nah, too much screaming. Not feeling it." Whereas now y'all are both LOVING it, and I'm SOOOOO happy!!! Which makes me wish you would go back and give a second listen to Radiohead's Creep. J reacted to that before Amber joined, and I totally would love to see Amber's reaction, and see how J's reaction would I'd bet be WAY different!
They burned out as fast as they lit it up. People moved on. This is the epitome of 80's Heavy Metal. They were a large part of my High School memories being from of the class of 1984.
That's because they changed their signature sound to some mellow after this and Cum On Feel The Noize. It didn't seem like they did heavy metal anymore.
just letting u know.. the name of this song is “Metal Health”.. but lots call it bang ur head.. i was in middle school when this album came out and i had it.. i remember their first 3 big hits Metal Health Come on Feel the Noise Momma we’re all crazee now
This is one of the greatest heavy metal songs of all time. Kevin Dubrow sang his heart out on this song, and he sounded the same live. Great band who's two original members left us way too soon. Great reaction!
Been listening to hard rock and metal since I can remember, since around 4 and my favorite band was kiss since around 79' I'm now 47 and still love it all
Kiss is one of my favorites besides Aerosmith and Iron Maiden. I'm 49 and I've been listening to rock and metal for a long time . Rock and metal forever!!!😎
Kevin Dubrow waa the OG lead singer of Quiet Riot. He died of a cocaine overdose in 1996 unfortunately. He had a Helluva voice for Metal. I'm 50 and Quiet Riot : Metal Health was the first record I bought in 1983, I was 11,lol
My first concert! Night Ranger was with them. I was on the floor, all the way against a wall, it was about 5' tall, about 15ft of floor seperated that wall from the stage. I was center to the center of the stage. I had taken my Quiet Riot, Metal Health album cover with me, armed with an ignorant notion that I might get it signed by Mr. Kevin Dubrow. I was18 yrs.old & I wore black leather pants. Don't ask me why because IDK, but the people around me threw me over that wall! Security caught me & set me on my feet & faced me in the direction that exited the stage area. I found my way around a corner & to the entrance that was about 50ft back from my original stage spot. I had stood my album cover against that wall in front of my feet. I made my way through so many people & back to where I was because I found my album cover! 2 more times, those arseholes, threw me over that wall, but I made it back, because each time, I returned to the place where my album cover was.😂😂 IDK how & no, I didn't think it would be possible, each and every time. You can imagine how aggravated & frustrated I was! I mean, as soon as, I got back to my spot, they threw me over again! I didn't know who because it was 3-4 guys and they were behind me in a sea of people. 😂😅 I did not get Kevin's signature, but, I guess that album cover was supposed to serve me in a different way that night.💃 Maybe it saved my fabulous spot with an execellent view, that night? After all, peeps tried to pitch me out of it 3x!😂😂 I told my mother that I was going earlier that day. I was so excited! I said, "I'm going to see Quiet Riot It's the Metal Health Tour". Mother: "What"? I said, "Quiet Riot, Metal Health, Mom, they sing, Bang Your Head". Mother:"You were in a quiet riot, banged your head & now you need mental health"? "Never mind, Mom".😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂 I didn't know her version would be so seemingly, spot on!😅😂😅😂😅😂 😂😂😅😅😅
Quiet Riot were larger than life for a while. Other songs that made the rounds on MTV and the radio include: "Slick Black Cadillac," "Mama Weer All Crazee Now," "Party All Night," "The Wild and the Young" and "Let's Get Crazy."
I’d say the next song you have to do from this group is mama we’re all crazy now off their critical condition album. The wild and the Young it’s probably her other big hit as well as slick Black Cadillac is a decent song. But to my knowledge they only had three American albums and then two that came out in the 70s is Japanese only releases. You got to remember they were only signed because they agreed to do a cover of the song come on feel the Noize which when they did it they did not like. This in my opinion is the most underrated band of the early 80s. It’s so sad that Kevin Duvall who is the lead singer couldn’t keep them together but they never would have survived the grunge movement.
Now imagine being 17 and Quiet Riot is dominating every record store, every radio station, and every Saturday night main street summer cruise across small town America.... Yeah it was that head bang'n it was that mental and that dang good! I know, cause I was there 🤯...glad you two felt that soul quake'n body shake'n heavy metal ! It will cure you indeed! Great reaction J and Amber!
How old are you dude? It pre-dates QR by a number of years. It dates back to Zeppelin concerts in the early 70's. That's where QR got the idea for incorporating it into a song
Kevin DuBrow is the lead singer. He died of an "accidental" cocaine overdose on 25 November 2007 at age 52. He was found after he had already been dead for an estimated 6 days before he was discovered. His brother is Terry Dubrow. He is married to one of the "Housewives of Orange County," Heather Dubrow. He also is a star of the TV show, "Botched."
Quiet riot was pure 80s metal which spawned 1 of the greatest guitarists of all time Randy Rhodes which later went on to play with ozzy who sadly died in his prime
The singer is Kevin Dubrow who sadly passed away in 2007. Lots of history with Quiet Riot. It was actually formed by late guitar virtuoso, Randy Rhoads, who would make his mark in musical history with Ozzy Osbourne. But QR didn't get signed to a major record label until Randy left the band to join Ozzy. Metal Health is the classic QR album that broke them into the mainstream, but sadly it was a flash in the pan. Their follow up albums didn't sell as well. Check out Slick Black Cadillac, which is a song originally wrote and recorded with Randy but re-recorded with the Metal Health band lineup. QR released 2 records with Randy but they were only released in Japan.
Lead singer= Kevin Dubrow. They did 2 albums in the 70s with Randy Rhoads (one of the Premier guitarists ever, who became big working with Ozzy), but this 1983 album was their breakthrough
Their drummer, Frankie Benali, said that they were huge AC/DC fans and that when they (he, along with co-writers Carlos Cavazo, guitarist, and Kevin DuBrow, lead singer) wrote it they "wanted something that had a very simple, straight ahead groove at a certain tempo" like AC/DC made their bones with. A bar that I used to frequent in the 80's played MTV videos on a "big screen" projection TV and piped the music through their sound system. Whenever this song came on, we used to band our foreheads on the bar each time they sang the line "Band your head!" It was considered a badge of honor if you drew blood!
I was playing this so loud that my neighbor threw a rock through my window, assuming they wanted to hear it better so i turned it up. I'm such a nice neighbor 👍👍
Kevin lived 3 blocks from my house. Seen him walking to store 4 times in 1998.we talked about music and MTV. Then saw them at hard rock Vegas in 2005.great voice!
The lead singer for Quiet Riot was the late Kevin DuBrow. "Bang Your Head (Metal Health)" was the band's breakthrough hit single. The music video for the song got extensive airplay on MTV. Randy Rhoads was the founding member of Quiet Riot in 1973, and was in the band until he left the group to join Ozzy Osbourne's band in 1979. Quiet Riot, according to Wikipedia, had a number of short breakups and reformations over the years. Kevin DuBrow died in 2007 of a cocaine overdose, at the age of 52. After three years of mourning, the drummer for Quiet Riot, Frankie Banali, reformed Quiet Riot, and continued on with the band until he died of pancreatic cancer in 2020, at the age of 68. Only bassist Rudy Sarzo remains from the classic lineup of Quiet Riot. Quiet Riot is currently out on tour. According to Ticketmaster, the closest concert to your area is for their concert in Kansas City, Missouri on July 29, 2022.
Fun facts for ya: This is a cover song originally by Scottish group, Slade. The original lead guitarist was the iconic Randy Rhoads, who by this time had become Ozzy's guitarist for the first two albums until his untimely accidental death in a plane crash.
You cannot fathom how awesome rock and metal in the 80's were. Big hair, high tops, $17 concert tickets, Mad Dog 20/20, "quarters" (party game), and by far, the loudest, most outrageous music. "Bang your head" was a catalyst song that was uber popular when it came out. Lucky to have lived it..... and survive. :D
Love this song...LOUD !!! I hope the audio is better in your headphones than what I'm hearing from this video. It is weak on lower frequencies, to me anyway...like your listening through TV speakers. Still great video and reaction
I saw Quiet Riot live in the mid-90s when Metal was out of fashion. It was at metal music festival at Midwest Fireworks near Canton Ohio. They took the stage at 1:00AM. Most of the people had left by then...they played for 20 people in a cow field like they were playing for a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. They were freakin' awesome!!
I'm glad you guys are finding some of this stuff. I'm 50 and grew up on this stuff. Way before you guys were born. It's fun to see how we can all enjoy it.
Quiet Riot Bassist Rudy Sarzo's brother Robert Sarzo, and guitarist Carlos Cavazo's brother, Tony Cavazo, collaborated with a pretty cool rock band that really did not get the recognition they deserved. They collaborated in the band Hurricane, and some of their songs: don't wanna dream, dance little sister, I'm on to you, over the edge are a few of their songs.
On November 25, 2007, Kevin DuBrow, the singer for Quiet Riot was found dead at his home in Las Vegas. Friends had been unable to contact DuBrow for a week and he failed to show up for Thanksgiving dinner hosted by his friend Glenn Hughes. According to Hughes, DuBrow had told him some ten days before that he had wanted to make changes in his lifestyle. The cause of death was established to be a fatal overdose by a combination of cocaine, painkillers and alcohol. It was also determined that he had died six days earlier.
Oh the memories :) partying in the woods to this song on the boom box !! I was 15 and a head banger and still am!! Rock on........... RIP Kevin and Frankie The 80's were the best for music!!
2 of QR's biggest hits were covers of "70s UK band Slade. you must, MUST dive down into the Slade rabbit-hole. They had so, so, so many fantastic, fun glam-rock hits... like: Gudbuy T'Jane, Run Runaway, Get Down Get With It, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Cum on Feel the Noize, Tak' Me Bak 'Ome, Skweeze Me Pleeze Me, Bangin' Man, Coz I Luv You, My Oh My, Merry Xmas Everybody, etc, etc. Oh and yes the song-title phonetic misspellings were always intentional. Slade were absolutely huge (with something like 6 #1's & 17 consecutive top 20 hits) in the UK, across Europe and also down here in Australia. The US was one of the few places that hadn't really glommed onto them (though they had a bit of a cult following with & influence upon a huge bunch of later rock acts).
Chuck Wright is actually the bass player you hear in this song. Bass player Rudy Sarzo is in the video and is on most of the album, and was also with Ozzy, Dio, Whitesnake, Blue Oyster Cult, the Guess Who, and dozens more bands probably. Chuck left during the making of this album (oops) and has been back in and out of the band over the decades. With the passing of Dubrow and Banali and guitarist Cavazo leaving the band in 2001, Sarzo has rejoined Quiet Riot as its only classic era member remaining.
Quiet Riot is a really good band. The lead singer of Quiet Riot sounds very much like the lead singer of Slade. Slade was a "Glam Rock" band back in the early 1970's along with the Sweet, Gary Glitter, and others. Neville Holder and Jim Lea from Slade wrote; Cum on Feel the Noize, Ooh La La in L.A., Everyday, Let's Dance, You Boyz, Still the Same, My Oh My, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Dizzy Mama, Gudbuy T'Jane, How Does It Feel,. Thay also also recorded songs from other artists. Please find the time in the future to check these out. They will definitely keep you awake! Great reaction, you two!
So here is a fact for you. The lead singer, Kevin Dubrow has a younger brother named Terry Dubrow. He is one of the surgeons on the show Botched on TV. I saw Quiet Riot live in 1983.
"Slick Black Cadillac" is another awesome Quiet Riot song.

So does Rudy Sarzo. They both left QR to join Ozzy's band.
That would explain why Rudy sarzo playing bass for Ozzy Osbourne back in 91
Quiet Riot was Randy's band. When he left to play for Ozzy, he gave Kevin Dubrow the rights to the band name at no cost, or so I heard or read somewhere.

Hey Jordan and Amber, interesting fact for you:
Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, Randy Rhodes, who played guitar in Ozzy's song " Crazy Train" was the original lead guitarist for Quiet Riot, he was offered the chance to return to the band after he'd finished touring with Ozzy, but he'd died in the plane crash and they'd selected Carlos Cavazo to be the guitarist of the band and would record the song6 "Thunderbird" as a tribute to Randy
Did not know the song was dedicated to RR. Sure I have heard it but I would have been around 16 at the time and don't recall. Going to take a listen. Thanks!!!
Randy played on Ozzy's first two full albums, not jut Crazy Train
Absolutely and Randy wanted the band to emulate the band Sweet. That ended whenRandy died and Kevin took over.
His solo on the track laughing gas, is insane
And then lost Frankie a few years ago 😔
@@rebeccarockchik6704 That's right. Of course, we lost Randy Rhoads before QR hit it big. Tremendous loss.
@@Shrykespeare yes, huge loss!
Actually "Critical Condition" is considered album #4. While the songs on it may have not been as good as those on Metal Health they are still pretty good.
yeah I remember going to an 80s hair band reunion concert in my hometown it was quiet riot cinderella and ratt then a week later I saw where kevin died on the tour bus that hit hard with me cause me and a couple of family members saw him for the last time
Our music was and still is the best!! Nothing compares. Even the young ones love our music
What an anthem for us heavy metal kids growing up in the 80s
🤘🤘 BANG YOUR HEAD!!!
Lead singer is the late Kevin DuBrow. This was their biggest original song. Cum on Feel the Noise and Mama ,Weer All Crazy Now were both covers.
I liked the wild and the young and their cover of Schools Out.
@@itsmedino Sometimes I wonder how big they might have been , had they not had their differences that made Randy leave and join Ozzy.
@@chriso6719 so true. It is funny to hear them being compared to Ozzy. Didn't Ozzy clock Dubrow once upon a time?
Drummer Frankie Banali died August 2020.
Wife here...Quiet Riot really doesn"t get the credit they deserve as one of the very first extremely popular 80"s metal bands.. interesting fact: The lead singers !brother is one of the very famous doctors of the original "Botched" reality show!! Awesome reaction!!
They had a good sized catalog as well! Not just the big three, Metal Health, Condition Critical and QR III.
A little history fact about Quiet Riot is that the late great guitarist for Ozzy Osborne.....Randy Rhodes was the co-founder with lead singer the late Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot when they were in high school together. R.I.P. Randy and Kevin.
R.I.P Frankie Banali as well.🤘🏼
Saw them in Germany, 1984. They opened for they opened for The Pretenders. It was an awesome concert!! They sold the sleeveless black and white t-shirts that the lead singer wore at the venue. Everybody was wearing them, including me!
QR's "Slick Black Cadillac" is a jam.
The singer's brother is the doctor from Botched. Hard to believe two kids could come out SO opposite!
Metal Health was the original title for this song, but everybody called it "Bang Your Head" and they changed it so people would know what song it was
At a Quiet Riot concert in San Diego (the last tour with Kevin Dubrow before he died) I had my greatest pickup ever.
Great reaction guys! Quiet Riot is definitely a fire band! Next up could be "Slick Black Cadillac". "Mama, we're all crazy now" or "Party all night". But; to hear their slower side, check out "Thunderbird". 🤘😎
I'm sure you meant...Mama Weer All Crazee Now.
I love Thunderbird.
T-Bird is my favourite off the album.
Graduated in '83, and you are 100% correct
For any “Real Housewives of the O.C.” here, Kevin Dubrow’s brother is Terry Dubrow who is also a famous plastic surgeon on the show Botched. Wild the different paths they took. Amazing band and reaction!!
Awesome reaction!!!! Quiet Riot were the first metal band to get a number one album 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
After all these years, this song NEVER gets old. So excellent to see your reaction to this! I don't know anyone who was a teenager in the 80's who didn't love this song, and of course we reacted in similar fashion. Thank you for keeping the music of my youth banging on. 🤘
The drummer was Frankie Banali ... (RIP) -- You want to hear one of his best, try "The Wild and the Young." ---
This song, this album paved the way for 80s metal. Before this record companies thought that rock was dead. When this album went #1 that's when record execs started sending people to the clubs on the Sunset Strip to "discover" bands like Motley Crue, W.A.S.P., Van Halen, etc.
They should react to Animal by W.A.S.P. just for the fun of seeing Amber's horrified reaction!!
Wrong VH already was BIG.
@@opencarrier8607 again, able to read, but clearly not comprehending what's being said here.
RIP Kevin.
My ex and i used to play this album when the kids were babies and they'd bang their heads with us lmao. One of my fondest memories of early motherhood. Those babies are 20 and 15 now.
Ha us gen-x parents really have a different yardstick i think. ;)
We do and we are lucky for it, I think us gen-x ers really grew up in the best time, cold war not withstanding.....
@@1971tallica i wont argue with you there. We really did have a blast, didn't we?
Hello fellow Eustonian. Quiet Riot played the bike fest one year.
You guys should react to more Quiet Riot…
"Slick Black Cadillac", "The Wild & The Young", "Mama, We Are All Crazy Now", "Party All Night", "The Joker", "Stay With Me Tonight", "Callin' the Shots", "Don't Wanna Let You Go"
🎸🤘
I would also listen to Thunderbird.
RIP Kevin Dubrow and Frankie Banali
Skid Row is a favorite of yours. I highly recommend “Youth Gone Wild” since you’ve done most of their other big hits already
Most definitely!
This one was one of our number 1 Party songs every weekend. Love. Love, love it!!!!!!! BANG YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't ever go wrong with some Quiet Riot!! One of my faves from back in the day. My mom hated it, so that made it even better. 😉😂🤣
Class of 85 here. Amazing decade!
@@LiberalsArePoop Me too.
That's because they changed their signature sound to some mellow after this and Cum On Feel The Noize. It didn't seem like they did heavy metal anymore.
just letting u know.. the name of this song is “Metal Health”.. but lots call it bang ur head.. i was in middle school when this album came out and i had it.. i remember their first 3 big hits
Metal Health
Come on Feel the Noise
Momma we’re all crazee now
The title on the cover of the single (and it's listing on the Billboard Hot 100) is Bang Your Head (Metal Health).
I'm 50 and Quiet Riot : Metal Health was the first record I bought in 1983, I was 11,lol
um dude ... he died in 2007. I am 50 as well.
2 more times, those arseholes, threw me over that wall, but I made it back, because each time, I returned to the place where my album cover was.😂😂
IDK how & no, I didn't think it would be possible, each and every time.
You can imagine how aggravated & frustrated I was! I mean, as soon as, I got back to my spot, they threw me over again!
I didn't know who because it was 3-4 guys and they were behind me in a sea of people. 😂😅
I did not get Kevin's signature, but, I guess that album cover was supposed to serve me in a different way that night.💃
Maybe it saved my fabulous spot with an execellent view, that night? After all, peeps tried to pitch me out of it 3x!😂😂
I told my mother that I was going earlier that day.
"Never mind, Mom".😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I didn't know her version would be so seemingly, spot on!😅😂😅😂😅😂
😂😂😅😅😅
80s Metal will forever rule and never be matched! 🤘
Quiet Riot were larger than life for a while. Other songs that made the rounds on MTV and the radio include: "Slick Black Cadillac," "Mama Weer All Crazee Now," "Party All Night," "The Wild and the Young" and "Let's Get Crazy."
You should dedicate a day of the week to 80's metal, like female Friday. It's such a deep rabbit hole. There's so many one hit bands in the genre.
Hell they could do a female metal week in and of itself , That's a huge rabbit hole too .
I absolutely love that you react to this type of music and have The Bee Gees on your wall.
This has to be one of my favorite metal screams from the 80s I have no idea how he got so high
"She Talks in Stereo" by Gary Myrick. Definitely an 80's easy rock feel, but a one of a kind style.
it was on the "valley Girl" soundtrack, one of the best movie soundtracks ever
This album "Metal Health" is historically significant because it's the very first metal album to go #1 in the U.S. An 80's classic.
Yep. I was there, and it was glorious 🤘
Did u know that the term "headbanger" actually originated from THIS song. No joke.
How old are you dude? It pre-dates QR by a number of years. It dates back to Zeppelin concerts in the early 70's. That's where QR got the idea for incorporating it into a song
Have good black and white photos, and other color pics of them live in 84.❤had front row tickets.😂😂wore this cd out. My work ride cd😂😂❤
I have always liked that one. You guys would probably like The McCoys,-(Hang on Sloppy). Keep up with the good work 😎👍
Sloopy!! 😂😂
love you guys! You are great!!
They were the first metal band to get a major record deal and brought metal into the mainstream. 🤘😎🤘
You're exactly right. And it was fun
The first time most of us got introduced to the guitar genius Randy Rhoads. He passed way to soon. He also played with Ozzy
Seen them Live back in the 80’s, was a great concert, they sound great live just like the studio, authentic head banging music!
Lead singer= Kevin Dubrow. They did 2 albums in the 70s with Randy Rhoads (one of the Premier guitarists ever, who became big working with Ozzy), but this 1983 album was their breakthrough
Nothing better than Blaring this song at high volume on the Harley! Man, this song just ROCKS!
Oh yes ! I can absolutely relate ! Wind therapy !
My favorite song by QR is titled "Love's A Bitch" . Great band
We rocked it freakin hard, in the 80s, man. 🙃
Im 57 and grew up banging my head through the 80's.
My neck regrets it everyday BUT I DONT
Takes me back to my Metal Head days in high school! Quiet Riot was and is a 80's icon!
BANG YOUR HEAD!!!!!!
