I also made a queen. I will have to go and do some measurements. This video was pretty popular and I made a couple of different versions of the bed. So, I think I'll make a new video to compare the versions and maybe I can put all of the sizes in it.
If you're gonna make your own, you need lips underneath to soften the lights. Lights in the bottom of a 'U' pointing up woulda made the lights 1000x better
You are correct. I'll be back there on Sunday, and I'm going to make another version of this bed without the side rails because one of the bedrooms is kind of small. I'm thinking the bed won't feel so big in a smaller room. So stay tuned if you want to see that one.

@@natrualnene9395 no problem. Yep, those are 1X2's that is what I used all the way up to support the mattress. I just put 3 together at the end so you couldn't see the floor. I actually wish I made it 3 inches small so you I didn't have that gap there.
@@franksoria2602 I would also add, I'd leave a one inch gap on each side and one inch on the bottom and none at the top. I ended up with 4 inches at the bottom because you don't need a gap at the top. You could get away with zero gap, but since it's going to be a vacation rental I wanted to make it easier on the people changing the sheets.
I just put links in the description for the mattress I use and the mattress cover and even the sheets I've to found to be the best ones that hold up the longest for my vacations rentals.

They do have a dimmer on the remote control. I just have it turned all the way up for the video.

what are the measurements for top frame
I left about a 2" gap around the mattress so that I could have room to tuck the sheets in. If I make another one I think I will reduce it to a 1" gap.

I think you'd be good. If you want to make it even more sturdy than I made it just make the base a little bigger.
