Sir I don’t have words to express my gratitude my son asked me for a floating bed and I went beyond that with this video I built the exact same thing and the best part is my son and I did it together and now I feel a better connection with my son we are doing a lot of different projects around the house now he is 14 and he was going through a rough patch but after doing this project together everything changed for good thank you so much from the bottom of my heart
Just built this yesterday in a day. You're right, help would've been excellent but nevertheless i got it done in time for mothers day. Thank you for this model and walk-through!
Working on a full bedroom remodel and was looking for bed ideas. Love this look. Thanks for the how to video! Now just to figure out the dimensions for a queen size. Looks awesome brother!
I caught your short video, and found it intriguing. I was soooo impressed with the how to; all the information from how to, to the cost break down, to the materials you need your narration. Really great job on video production and your product is beautiful.
What a fab tutorial. This tutorial ought to be suggested to all new content creators, "If you ever wish to record a Real Tutorial," exemplar to follow.
Were you ever able to get the list of material? I'm still wanting as well and hope @kylerennis is able to help me out with that. I saw the whole cost list but not the amount needed 😪
@@Monroegrow does he have ANY other social media platforms? I will look tonight maybe when I'm off work.... really have 75% of the wood, it's the bigger pieces I'm after now while prices aren't horrific 🙃 they must have gotten tired of them sitting rotting/warping on those boats off the coast...... because the 2x4s I got looked like a mess as always in Menards 😅
My bedframe just broke, and I remember seeing your TickTock video. Doing some searching, I found your TickTock video and came to UA-cam. Will be building this over the next couple days. Thanks
Amazing video and I am going to be building the floating need portion today. Just wanted to let you know that at 11 sec where you have the cut list you have a 45 cut in the foot board and the sides a 45 cut at the head board. Considering that wouldn't work and looking at the frame in the video I believe you mean the have the foot board and the footboard end of the sides cut with a 45.
Love this! I'd want some underbed storage of some sort though, maybe one day I'll do something like this. I definitely would not be able to prebuild this whole thing with how awkward my house is though 😅
Thanks TikTok so glad I found you Kyle , and now UA-cam as well Awesome talent , I really enjoy watching you and the wife and now your beautiful sweet lil girl .
You’re video was really good and I was wondering if you would ad a section within the description section that gave a run down of a written list of materials and total price. It would give a basic layout in written form just like your video did. Loved the over all product.
Who in their right mind would give this a thumbs down? What's wrong with people, you dont like it move on! There is nothing wrong with this video to be disrespectful. Just because you cant do it you will give it a thumbs down?. Good job brother! Here from tiktok definitely will build this in ther summer. Thank you so much for the free detailed information!!
How much did you add to the size of the mattress to figure size of footboard, headboard, and sides? I’m wanting to make this for a queen size 60 x 80. Also, instructions seem to say you join a 45 to a square cut. What am I missing? Thanks bunches!
This is the nuts. I absolutely love it. Thank you for your video. 🙏 Could you tell me what lights you used around the bed please? Also, I'm about to take on making ottoman bed for my static caravan. Any tips would be appreciated. I'm thinking of using 3 ikea kallax units with 18mm ply on top and struggling to find good piston raisers. I love your bed and definitely will build it when I eventually decide to live in the house. Lol. Thank you for any tips 🙏 Please put more videos out there. I have tool envy. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😂
How high to the bed of the floor. what measurements do you for the lower bed/ upper base? , also what measurement do use to secure the two bases together
At the head of the bed, you have 2 corner 2x4's and one maybe 6'? 2x4 going across the head. do you repeat this on the footboard? could you tell me what the dimensions are for these? does the top of 4x5 base rest on this 6' board or is the top under the 12" head? @ 3:39 in the video. REALLY impressed with this bed!
This is old but i still want to do it. I jist want to ask if there is an updated way to do this in case i sell my house and have to move. This will be a nightmare to take apart.
queen mattress dimensions are 60 inches (5 feet) in width by 80 inches (6 feet, 8 inches) in length. The king mattress dimensions are 76 inches (6 feet, 4 inches) in width by 80 inches (6 feet, 8 inches) in length. The length of the two sizes is identical at 80 inches. Theres your formula. You can plug it in XD
Just curious if you could box out the supports to create a “hole” under the bed to where you can add a piece of plywood with a couple hydraulic arms to create storage under the bed by lifting up the mattress? Or would there not be enough room for the mattress to pivot. Just a thought if you are in an area with limited storage space.
The measurements with the 45* cut I’m assuming your marking and cutting on that line? Like the 78-7/8 would be the outside longest part and not the inside of the 45*
The only time they really come into play is when there is pressure down on the 2x12. They’re just a cheap easy install to guarantee no squeaking over time lol
@@KylerEnnis makes sense. sorry, but i need to ask another. How much does that weigh? Im worried that it would tilt from me getting on it. Again, i have no sense of what it must weight, or the balance behind that design.
@@01xSpad3z I wouldn't worry about tilting with the base (acting like a fulcrum) so close to the edge of the bed. It also helps if the frame is fastened to the backboard
Kyler, do you ever have problems with your mattress sliding around on top? We have a bed frame with storage under it that we don't need box springs and the mattress slides around all the time.
Definitely worth coming here from tiktok. I'm going to try this but in a modle scale because I am NOT and expert.
Why? BECAUSE!!!
Model scale 😂 that’d be way harder
I'm no expert either and I eyeballs a bunch of measurements but it turned out pretty solid.

A router would make the edges a lot better, but that is just personal preference.
Thx
You should have run the lamp wires through the back plywood before.
Would you know Wht the measurements would be for a queen bed?

If you miter the plywood for the boxes for the draws what measurements would you use?
Is this a cal king? Or standard king?
You should post a video of dimensions for a queen size
Looks awesome! Can I ask though. why put the joist hangers upside down? Im no handy man, so i was confused when i saw that.
Cause those boards are pressing down on the support board on the floor.
If the brackets went the other way, they'd "Pop" after time.
The only time they really come into play is when there is pressure down on the 2x12. They’re just a cheap easy install to guarantee no squeaking over time lol
