I grew up in the 60's, 70's, and adult years after. Heard a lot of great guitarists over the years. Eddie, with his tone chasing, harmonics, finger tapping, and modified earlier amps to his modern. Defined classical music into rock songs and solos. He's got the Wow factor. RIP Eddie love ya
Okay I'm a little bias because I grew up with these guys in socal. But you just watched the greatest Rock and Roll guitar player that's ever lived. Jimmy was great, but sadly gone too soon and Stevie is probably the best blue's guitarist but Eddie takes it all. RIP Eddie ❤
Eddie was passionate about the guitar he built himself....an absolute legend and there isn't anyone who can replace him as a guitar player...four years on from his passing and I miss him....RIP Eddie, you left us a legacy of your genius 🙂
For those not aware, this is all Eddie & his guitar. No peddles No sound effects No mixing board (live or post production) There are many great guitar players, but (IMO) no one else could/can pull off the music Eddie made without the aid of peddles and/or a computer
My 1st concert ever when I turned 13 was Van Halen in 1980. Eddie Van Halen blew my mind and ever since saw them every tour. No doubt the GOAT and missed dearly!
FYI, this isn't the "Eruption" solo. This is his solo from a live show called "Live Without A Net". To hear Eruption, you have to find the recording on the first VH album.
Strictly speaking you're right, but his live solos all got called 'Eruption' after a while since they included the original 'Eruption' parts amongst everything else he would proceed to throw in over the years and it wouldn't have made sense to call the solo '316/The First Bit Of Eruption/A Bunch Of Tapping Shit/The Rest Of Eruption/Cathedral/Mean Streets Intro/Spanish Fly/Fucking around in E minor' :D .
This isn't "Eruption"; it a live rendition of "Eruption", with some of his other instrumental pieces mixed in. You should back and listen to the original (studio) version. Then, you might check out his other instrumental pieces, such as "Spanish Fly", "Cathedral", and "316". Also, I recommend listening to "Sunday Afternoon In The Park", which is Alex on drums, with Michael Anthony on bass. You'd love it, for cruising, if you have good speakers. At this same concert, they play a live rendition of it, during Michael Anthony's bass solo.
It is so fun to watch peoples facial expressions as there brain tries to process it all . Eddie was the first at many new things and a true legend and KING of the hammer ons . I was lucky enough to catch Van Halen twice live in the 80,s and they were SO good ! Just awesome to see younger generations discover this man and his many talents .. RIP Eddie you will be missed Sir ! Great reaction !
Edward Van Halen!!!!!! The king of 10 fingers & 6 strings. Eddie made us all want to be guitar players "THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN" Listen to Van Halen I (1978). This album change music
What is being shared is the solo part from the "Live Without A Net " live in concert video released in the mid-1980's. This is much more than just the solo entitled "Eruption " from the first LP. The title is somewhat misleading. This live solo includes parts of "Cathedral ", "3:16", and other elements of future songs...
Great video!! RIP Eddie VanHalen 😢. Alex the drummer is his brother. Listen to Rush as well. Idk if you've shared this Fantastic 3 Canada band? It's worth it bro!! 🎉
He's one of a few that has a guitar he built in the Smithsonian museum... Check out his life story. There is a great interview with him on you tube. Came to America and couldn't speak English. Never learned to read music
RIP KING EDWARD! Greatest Guitarist Of All Time...he`s not only the GOAT but that Guitar, He built it hisself. He used parts of a bunch of other Guitars and made what He called The Frankenstrat. I was blessed to have seen him do this 3 times. Eddie was the man that Michael Jackson had doing the Guitar work on "Beat It".
Underrated not well known Gary Richraft flying turkey trot live REO Speed wagon guitar solo better shread than Eddy V may not munch requests but you will not believe it mind blowing
Did I hear that right, you'd never heard of Eddie Van Halen? It is not possible, unless you've been living in a cave in the wilderness for the last three years and the last 40 years.....
Just a suggestion. You make the main subject bigger then you.by that I mean, down size your picture and let the video be the main screen. Hope this helps your channel .
the music in the background doesnt stop.....if you have a "music" reaction seems kind of dumb to me to have music playing.... Eddie Van Halen was one the the elite and will never be forgotten
Looks to me like he is new at this, 29 subs, using speakers and it is coming through the mic. No big deal. Headphones or ear buds will fix that. Noise gate filtering also could help. Enjoyed the reaction! You got this. And tom... criticism vs constructive criticism is something you need to learn how to type out correctly. Your comment was less than helpful.
There will never be another Eddie Van Halen. The true GOAT!!!

You should listen to the band. Panama is great.
Wow okay I’m going to have to React to them next, because I’ve never heard of them either 🤔
Do you have an idea of the song I should react to buy that band ?
@@MANMANReactz the band is Van Halen. The song is Panama.
And he was drunk.
