I did a comparison with this one their sealed version and the popular rsl 12s. These ported Starke at this price are an amazing deal for sure. I got 4 now and I must try stacking 2 for fun lol
@hatoraidcowboy you are doing a great job. More people need to hear about these subs :) I actually am moving from gigantic psa 21s to 4 of these...or maybe 6 if I decide I want to stack 2 on the back for fun lol
I'd love to have a front soundstage with four subs - stacked in pairs. For the money, this sounds like an amazing deal to get all four for roughly 3k. I'm crossing fingers Starke continues to output more subs like these (see what I did there? 😂).
Any chance you can include rew measurements of the 2 sealed next time you do this stacked setup? Emphasis on the x axis, frequency, down to 5 hz would be awesome.
Starke responded to my question that the sealed and ported version are different products. "Hi, the 15 and 15p are different designs. They don’t share any components."
If I recall right, you stated you needed a second woofer to even out the room. Why wouldn't you pull these apart and go with a front/back or left/right? Seems like the separation could give you a more balanced tactile feel, and make it better for multiple seats.
I was going to do that but since these subs are relatively small and light enough for me to stack I decided to try a stacked config since I’ve never done that before.
It actually does. Years ago I had a Power 300 running a sealed 15 and 2 ported 12s. Deep, powerful bass. Pulled up to a truck that sounded just as deep and full (possibly better) and he had a bed full of small subs. The multiple spread undoubtedly makes a nice difference. Sounds like some fun you're having. Enjoy!
I've technically got stacked subs. I'm running four Artcoustic DFS75-55 X2 subs, mounted two by two on-wall. It's not made for infrasonics, but with a MiniDSP they play down to 20 Hz.
@@hatoraidcowboy it's an older model from a smaller, Danish company. Found them used for about $300 total. They're designed to be wall-mounted. 2x10" Peerless drivers in a roughly 1 cubic-foot enclosure, that's less than 6" deep total. With no DSP they play to about 45-50 Hz in-room before falling off, but with this much surface-area DSP helps shore up the lowest octave. I have them wired in series in pairs, and each pair is getting 450W. Not output monsters, but for a living-room setup they do really well.
Curious to know if you've managed to put these on pedestals in opposite diagonal corners of your cinema and found a difference? Having them in one corner would mean there's going to be room modes that would need to be treated and EQ'd for a smoother response but how well would it work in diagonally opposite corners and raised up?

With regards to why you felt the bass was much more enveloping this time round, disregarding whether you increased the output by 6dB, some of it could be the extra driver being off the ground helping improve a standing wave issue you might have in the vertical plane with subs only on the floor. It might even have been at optimal height for your seated listening to remove a null, much like placing a single sub center of your front wall if you only run one to get the most even bass. Did you measure the single and stacked to compare?

If successful he get a new experience to compare products he hasn't heard before. Whether he like it or not doesn't matter as viewers will tune in to see a more rarely reviewed product than yet another SVS sub or more JTR that comes with a steeper price tag and wait. I would also encourage Rythmic and HSU.
Buyer beware!!!
Purchased 5-31, delivered 6-7, on 7-1 new price dropped by $50.00 from my price, Starke declined a price protection saying it was over 30 days? Umm I had/have in my possession for 24 days, so this company counts days when in transit...😳😳😳
Was and am not looking to return and now it's not about the $100.00, but that company and a countdown that starts at the moment of order as per the email I have in my possession. Well I do enjoy the 🔊🔊 I cannot see myself as a future customer due to this completely wrong policy. Too bad 🤷🏻♂️ so again buyer beware.
Thanks for the info
@@hatoraidcowboy kinda shocked me as well and I thought I had found another long term company to do business with 😶 and these duals are still real nice, but decisions such as that leave me scratching my head. Anyways #rockon and maybe one day they will revisit that "policy".
