@@AlexAnder-dh8qz Taking off the sword lets you keep the buff in current patch & you can still use the Deva weapon for huge damage. Again all in current patch.
@@AlexAnder-dh8qz Uh…spell slots have never worked off of character level OR class level, they’re determined by your overall caster level. As far as I know slots are working as intended here. 10 levels of Bard gets you caster level 10, and 2 Paladin levels only get you 1 additional caster level, since Paladins are half-casters. This makes your total caster level 11, hence the 6th level slot.
Bro rolled the worst initiative of all time and still made it look easy. My first playthrough is also a Swords Bard 10 / Paladin 2, this is just perfect.
Great idea but feat economy is already thin with paladins and their stat requirements. Fighter + paladin flourish might as well just have a separate frontline fighter since a single paladin doesn’t have enough sustain dmg with spell slots per long rest
Finished the game with this build too, but dipped a single level in war domain cleric to attack with bonus action without needing the mind sanctuary. Great synergy, no idea why do people recommend warlock/paladin, 2 smites per fight is just not enough
They like that build because you can max out your Charisma and use pact of the blade to use any weapon. Yeah the two smites sucks but the extra attack you get at warlock 5 on top of the paladin extra attack means you're swinging a lot more and have a ranged option with eldritch blast. Two smites per short rest coming back isnt great but they will be level 3 smites.
Getting the high spell slots is insanely good. However, other than "just" the bugged extra attack, Hex alone is a pretty solid reason to go Warlock as it has some broken interactions. It does trigger on both spell and melee damage. So just a normal attack with whatever smite adds 2d6 to your damage already. Now there is Phalar Aluve, which also triggers from both spell and melee attacks so it will procc twice on a smite hit aswell. That's where the weird stuff happens as now both Phalar Aluve hits also trigger Hex twice. So you get 4d6 for every smite hit you do and you happen to attack quite a bit if you go the Warlock double extra attack route. Thats quite some power for being ready every short rest
In honor mode all the cambions have radiant retort (radiant reflect 2x as force). Unfortunately banishing smite is gatekeept behind bard 10 but if your tav is bard you can’t inspire yourself for story. So swords bard6+paladin1->6+phalar is better for support aura+ penetrating sanctuary with tav instead as a vengeance 2h paladin for main dmg
If I did this half the attacks would be critical miss, concentration with advantage breaks on the first hit recieved, then my power goes out as I get him to 25% hp
Its like 0.25% chance to lose conc. DC is 10. +6 from 23 con, +4 from profiecency, +1 happy, so only 20 roll breaks conc, but I also have advantage so its 2x20 roll = 0.25%.
At level 12 you literally have party of gatling guns or even wizard cannon. The paladin has only one problen at this fight - all Raphael's guards have x2 reflection of radiant damage (but not himself, lol).
On fresh start with Bard Id probably have 16 dex 14/16 con 14/16 cha, 8 int, leftover points to str or wis. Id play with hand crossbows + casting spells. Spells - lvl1: Sleep, Thunderwave, Faerie Fire lvl2: Cloud of Daggers lvl3: Glyph of Warding, can even upcast CoD.
Been reading up on a lot of bard guides and haven't seen a single one with the same spell recommendations 😅 Love that the community is still in the experimentation phase for this game
Cool video! They have not patched Raphael to have immunity to Paralysis. Instead it was the poisons that got nerfed wherein if a Creature succeeds the first saving throw against any poison coating the Creature will receive poison immunity for 2 turns. Hold Monster should still do the trick against him. I don't know if Hold Monster is better than Spirit Guardians as a magical secret spell pick up as a level 10 bard though.
You can blow towers with bombs to apply vulnerability, you can blow him with Luminous armor proc to make him -30 to attack rolls for next lol 30 turns, you can hide party under sphere of invunerability, you can stack Purple Work or Thirsobald's Brew poison on him (the only of few poisons that actually stack per hit/failed save, every stack gives 1d10 poison damage per turn), perilous stakes also applies vulnerability to all types of damage. So many ways to actually turn the battle into total domination over poor Raphael. Paralysis immunity wouldn't save him, no, no...
