Having enjoyed Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, and sunked hundreds of hours on Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, I have been closely watching Larian Studio's Baldur's Gate 3's development. I have been so hyped then that the game has been getting rave reviews all around! Here's my first time reaction listening to some songs from the Baldur's Gate 3 soundtrack including "Weeping Dawn", "Nightsong" and "Twisted Force".

Just uploaded my own cover of Weeping Dawn, symphonic metal style! Watch it now: ua-cam.com/video/Yz66UMQFbI0/v-deo.html
When ever Twisted Force plays, it gives the same feeling of *_"We in this shit now!"_* as a DM saying *_"Roll Initiative"_*
When the "Yabogavi" hits, its time to lock in!
When Twisted Force plays you know youre in for a fight and actually have to sit up 😂
Everything is allowed. Nothing is to be excluded.
may i add "shit just got serious" music?
Twisted Force is my fave track
Don't forget Sixteen Strikes! Although it plays when you defeat an enemy.
Barrelmancy time
Thank you so much for what you said about my singing in the song! 💗 Huge compliment! And the song itself is one of my favorites of the game.
@@iLona.ivanova You were INCREDIBLE. Absolutely breathtaking.
@@iLona.ivanova we need more alfira in our lives
The Nightsong plays at a super beautiful and emotional scene, its just perfection.
I have just reached that part of the game, absolute perfection.
@@LionmightOfficial Something wrong with me. Just listening to it here in your vid, makes me teary eyed. lol.
Music is magical.
@@LionmightOfficial oh you play the game too? i cried a little when first saw that scene
@@LionmightOfficial Here is the scene this music goes with ua-cam.com/video/xUPTgI-756Y/v-deo.html starting at ~03:32 for Nightsong
The Weeping Dawn was the last song my partner played before he passed away. It seemed perfect that it will always remind me of our 26 years of friendship.
That's intense.
Aw man I cried reading your comment, I hope you're okay...
My condolences, I hope it will remain a beautiful reminder.
Thank you all. It's been tough, but I have support.
🤩
The weeping down gets more credits because in the game, when the singer trying the "create" this song, she song it terribly, then after you help her with her pain she finished the song and it's beautiful...
Yes, I have seen the cutscene when playing it. Perfection.
I would also advise to speak with the squirrels nearby for some funny comments/interactions.
@@KaitN9 Yup, this is a Larian trope I already know of.
You also can help her with the lyrics/instruments if you play as a Bard, which was really cute to me
@@attonrands
Even without being a Bard actually.
It is how I got proficient with Instruments on my... Rogue X)
twisted force is such a piece, so oppressive and ominous, completely in love
Truly. It actually reminds me of the feel I got the first time the halo battle music played. Just much darker/ominous. One part scared, one part pumped, but I don't think I can think of another piece that made me have THAT type of feel.
The whole sequence in the game where the bard sings weeping dawn is stunning.
Facts
Can't believe I finally found someone who feels music as intensely as I do. It fills me with so much emotion that it feels like my small human body can't contain it. It was wonderful to watch you experience these emotions. The pleasure you feel is almost palpable.
I feel the same way! No shame in admitting I've cried to a majority of Baldurs Gate Songs lmao
I cry to a majority of them every time I hear them. They touch my soul and my heart in a way that few things do.@@wlpxx7
It's also interesting to note how The Weeping Dawn and Harpy Song have similar notes. The bard is composing her song in an area nearby to the harpies, and they probably mimic her notes in their singing.
A video game hasn't had this effect on me ina while, especially the music... Such a good soundtrack; gives me goosebumps, glad you enjoy it!!
Couldn't agree more!
The entire OST of Baldur's Gate is a masterclass in soundtracks!~ So glad you're exploring the tracks, and I hope to see a part 3~
Twisted Force literally plays whenever Larian has an encounter that's going to be monsters or hard. Same with Legacy of Bhaal
When i saw that "Nightsong" Scene in the game for the very first time i was speechless. Without noticing my eyes' floods were all opened. This rarely happened to me in music before, but it did during that scene... over and over again, no matter how many times i have played through the game thus far!
It still stuns me to this very day, how absolutely Precise you were with the Analysis of the "Nightsong" Melody, A Call to arms, with a ray of hope.. way before you even reached that point in the game yourself. It is crazy how even without understanding the vocals, Music can convey stories and emotions without any hindrance.
No matter how many times I've watched the cut scene or reactions to it on youtube or how many playthroughs I've done, this scene gives me chills every time.
Running into The Weeping Dawn during my first playthrough was such a blessing. I hadn't played the early access so I had no idea it was there but I like to fully explore areas and naturally ran into it. The conversation and the eventual starting of the cutscene were just a wonderful thing to discover.
I played with my friends on her ps5 and we missed that cutscene. I bought the game and played on my PC and discovered it by myself. I was nearly in tears with that cutscene where she sings it over the grove.
Nightsong is so impactful when you hear it for the first time during its scene.
I just love Twisted Force. Probably the one piece of music in the game that I listen to at least once or twice every day, beyond hearing it when I play the game a bunch too lol
I love your wide-eyed expressions at the start of the songs. Because that's exactly how I reacted and felt when hearing them in-game. 😆
The entire scene with Alfira was so powerful, the sentiment of Weeping Dawn, that lost potential to give back to those who provided for you, it's not something touched on often in media and hit me like a punch to the gut.
Nightsong, complete in the moment of the story where it takes place, completely stunned me.
Incredible.
My heart was racing and I was tearing up. That moment in the game is magnificent.
me too
"I am resplendent!"
chills all over my entire body. especially when she says "I am resplendent." i wanted to cry lol
The best thing about the combat songs in this game is that there are heroic versions that the music can transition to when you defeat an enemy, turning the tide of battle in your favor. Look up Enemy Down, you won't be disappointed.
Just watching his eyes get huge as he really TAKES IN the music is so fun and makes me giggle.
Your wonderful facial expressions here are giving me almost as much positive energy as the music itself :D Very valuable commentary imo
Wow, thank you!
110% agree with this. I love how your depiction of what you think the song is depicting is so accurate to the scene they're playing in.
13:34 always catches me off guard. It feels so unnatural, but in a good way. I genuinely can't tell where the voices stop and the strings start. What a chilling effect.
Nightsong is practically a religious experience when played with the scene its from
considering you're freeing a child of a god, possessed of a shard of divinity, it's not too far off FROM a religious experience
plus, being a sapphic myself, to find out later she's a lesbian and reunites with her lost love, this song means so much to me
I’m late to the bg3 bandwagon, but I somehow managed to avoid spoilers, and seeing Aylin and Isobel reunite was such a moment, it’s so raw and pure
please do a full length version of what you did for Twisted Force I BEG, it sounded SO COOL and gave the song a complete different flavour
I second this!!
@@jcdenton2187 Third!!
Twisted Force has a real vibe of 'you dun goof'd, now pay the price' to it.
When I hear Twisted Force, I always want to hear The Hu start singing with it.
You covered two of my fav pieces in this video. A note for Twisted Force is that the first 50 seconds or so are like a perfect musical display of "descent into madness / battle frenzy" IMO
I'm floored how you describe nightsong without playing it and many of your points are so close to spot on. You sir are amazing and i really hope you play through the game.
When I helped the bard with the Weeping Dawn it became a favorite. This song resonates. I am reminded of my father who passed away more then 20 years ago.
My dad passed in December 2022 so it was relatively recent when I first heard this song in game. It hits me right in the heart. All the things I wish I could tell him but can’t. I tear up every time I hear it.
The Nightsong became one of my most favorite game songs ever and you really managed to make it even a little better than it already is, wow!
twisted force for me conveys danger and confusion in battle. its perfect.
Ein Genuss, as we say in Germany. A real joy! Thanks for assembling, reviewing and adding to this!
ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxImjAqL34l375C-CqXI5D6AyRdCGqxjdE?si=tuZ8k9O-V1xEBOKv
I love how you felt all the emotionality behind the Nightsong-Music without actually knowing, what's happing during it in the game... and your feeling between the lines and interpreting the music on it's own nailed it... eventhough it's not the elven priestress at the front of an army... :)
I'm in tears every time I'm singing along with it...
The power of Nightsong is in combination with what happens in the game it's actually become one of my favorite game moments! That whole track evokes so much
Got to admit, he was pretty much onto it with the Nightsong analysis. It's a moment I think everyone should go through once.
I have to say, nightsong is one of my favourite parts of the game so far ❤ the escene is just... wonderful
Oh and Twisted force is one of my favourite songs too!
Hi SPG! The Weeping Down knocked me out! It's INCREDIBLE! It's so harmonious, so sweet, it really brings out the fantasy world in which the game is set. The song reminds me of a tale told to children, like an old legend guiding the hero and his companions to a treasure.
For Nightsong, it makes me imagine that our heroes arrive in a town that has been struck by a strange disease, and that our heroes are motivated to want to save it and restore it to its former glory.
Wow, for Twisted Force, I wasn't expecting that! The piece makes me imagine a fairly important fight to advance the story, the boss would have several combat phases.
And an excellent video as always!
Nightsong reminding you of restoring something to its former glory is super accurate
@lewd2851 Not to mention, they literally described the plot of act 2 entirely, lol
Amazing analysis of the songs!
"Twisted Force" has so much weight to it that it's my go-to song for serious D&D battles where there are some big, BIG stakes where failure can lead to catastrophic consequences.
I never thought "Nightsong" could be used in a moment other than when I heard it from the game, but the band of warriors led by an elven shaman priestess is such good imagery for it.
I hope Borislav sees this one too!! Another amazing video. You are such a joy to watch!!
Glad to see a part 2 of this, i am absolutely in love with your reactions and analysis of this soundtrack. Ive been listening to it for about 7 days straight now
jesus the harmony with twisted force and your violin sent chills
Weeping Dawn is such a beautiful song, the background sounds building up into an epic piece always gets me. Nightsong is also one of my favorites, very nice video as always :) Hope you've also started playing the game and are enjoying it!
I love the Keyleth statue on the desk :D
The end game of act 2 has to be one of my favorites.
The Nightsong, the Nightsong area, the fights, General Thorm. Just wow
I love your enthusiasm and passion for music. And parts when you play along withe song are always beautiful. There is still a lot of excellent music in Baldur's Gate 3. Hope to see more on your channel!
'Nightsong' really hit me in the feels - so I loved seeing how delighted you seemed to be as it moved along.
The combination of beautiful voices and brutal drums as you called them is so very fitting for Nightsong when you know what it is actually referring to.
I love how that central theme comes back in most of the music pieces - and how it can change character with the changes in instrumentation and key
I am DELIGHTED to see another reaction of yours. It's just wonderful seeing people enjoying the craft that goes into this music. 😄
Twisted Force is one of my favorite battle themes. Ive played a lot of RPGs with some epic music, but this song is something else. I was floored the first time I heard and was like:
What in the hells WAS THAT?! A spectacular piece, truly awesome!
I listened to Nightsong before hearing it in game and when you understand the context and listen afterwards…chills.
After the last video I was hoping you’d listen to Nightsong because your violin add ons are sooo amazing. I was not disappointed.
You’ve got the most wonderful smile my man. Lights up the room. I mean to give credit not come on.
I love watching your reactions. They seem genuine and appreciative from an informed/master position.
Also love your band music-wanted more of your violin!!
Twisted Force: [plays]
Tav: Quaff your haste postions! Ready your weapons and spells, my brothers and sisters in arms! Death or glory awaits us this day!
I love what you add to the soundtrack so much!!! It's just pure fun listening to your additions, def something i always look forward to ♥♥
Yay, thank you so much!
Music is such a powerful tool. You can tell the entire story with it. The solemn but hopeful bliss of Weeping Dawn, the confident preparation for battle of Nightsong, the struggles of Twisted Force. You don't even need to know the game's plot to recognise what's happening in those moments.
Down by the River is an absolute banger that you totes need to listen to
But did you watch Part 1 of this video series?
I still get chills whenever I hear Nightsong.
Awesome video! Also love REALLY good Cazador outfit!
Borislav Slavov simply MUST win "best score and music" award in "games of the year" award ceremony
This channel was in my feed and I love when you add your own sound the musics! So cool! Subscribed!
LOVE seeing your eyes widen at every twist
Your Violin additions..... "Iceing on the cake"... Excellent review.
The weeping dawn. Seriously after only an hour of game time and then finding this. I literally broke down in a mixture of joy and tears. Weeping dawn is amazing. Masterpiece. Takes alit to get emotional over music and this just punches you in the gut
Weeping dawn and nightsong are in my top 3 favourite! Great reaction keep it up 👍
Loved your reaction when your heard the first drum in nightsong 😁
Nightsong touched my soul directly
The Weeping Dawn gets a straight up full Bardcore music video IN gameplay. Sweeping camera movements, the whole thing.
6:56 Considering the scene it plays in is you freeing a literal Aasamir from hundreds of years of suffering to kill her imprisoner who happens to be immortal, yeah, "battle drums" was putting it lightly 😂
We all stan the Dame.
I come here for reactions and musical accompaniments. I have watched a majority of your back log since that first BG3 video and have tried to like and comment on all of them (only when I think the comment might be interesting) ... and yeah... I love the improvisation you do with your wonderful violin... and you're obviously as passionate about doing music as I am listening to it. So, thank you for your work and reactions!
I wrote this before I got to Twisted Force... and I actually like your accompaniment with it as much as if not more so than the song (and the song is INCREDIBLE!)
13:54 i love that dissonance you played, it fits so nicely
BG3 music is just amazing. I just played the part where we meet Alfira two days ago and that felt magical. Great playing and analysis of this OST!! 🎉
Thank you so much Fira!
When I stumbled upon Alfira in Early Access and listened to her sing for the first time (of many) I knew BG3 will become something very very special.
I love how after you finish each song, you sauce it up with your own style 🫶
GODS, I was doing fine and then the Nightsong started playing and I INSTANTLY choked up. I'm crying now
I could see you tasting every delcious note. It gave me goosebumps.
Please work with Larain Studios on something. It would be glorious!
Holy shit, when you added violin to twisted force! 😍
I’m surprised how close you were to the scene from just the music alone. Like the description of nightsong compared to the actual scene it plays is very similar.
Guess this shows music is a language that can tell stories or something lol
Twisted Force is excellent for the boss encounters since it passes such a heavy vibe of facing something immensely powerful. But Alfira's song Weeping Dawn is so damn good, specially hearing the lyrics with attention it's a farewell song for her teacher who died, it's such a good mixture of sadness and hope.
When i first heard the nightsong in game, i was just in awe! Its just sooo, so beautiful and EPIC! It really fits the scene. Every time i listen to it, i just get goosebumps! Same for the harpy song and down by the river
Also your take on how you imagine what happens while hearing it is almost perfectly spot on👌🏻 love your explanations
Weeping Dawn is by far the most beautiful song from the game, brings tears to my eyes everytime
Love these reactions dude, you are amazing on those strings. Glad you're playing the game and still putting these out. So awesome.
Raphael's Final Act was by far my favorite, first time in a long time a song in a game not only made me laugh but hyped me up big time.
The Nightsong together with the visuals and the context is one of the greatest gaming moments of my life.
And to think I *almost* missed the Weeping Dawn.
Dude! Your playing adds a whole new level of awesomeness to the music. Subscribing. Now.
I'm glad you like the weeping down. I came up with the lyrics.
i was waitng for house of hope. this one is certainly the one that surprises me the most during my playthrough and i m pretty sure you ll love it if you did not already heard it
Did you check Part 1?
The first time I saw the Night song scene I cried. The song still gives me chills and a weepy eye whenever I hear it after experiencing it❤
I love that in a year of great video games with great soundtracks this game and its music was able to stand toe to toe with all them with how great its music is! thank you for helping us appreciate it even more!
Brother if you havent played it you'll love this fucking game.
I currently have 40 hours on it already so far, but these reactions videos are filmed BEFORE I played.
Love how you can see the chills with the Nightsong well... song xD. Such a great moment !
Nightsong is my new alarm to wake up, best decision in my life ever
Twisted force really works well with that spider fight. Sounds like twanging sounds of web.
Hot damn, that lil diddy ya performed in Nightsong was fantastic. Had to replay that a few times
Nightsong is my favorite so far, really, when it drops, it drops at a crazy time, the context is amazing, and the cinematic is superb.
Wow, you got it so close with the analysis for the Nightsong, ties so well with the scene too.
the descending scale of the lute at the beginning of twisted force threw me off so much (in an amazing way) bc it sounded so similar to a oud in both sound and playing style. i mean it makes sense since the lute is kind of a descendant of the oud and even got its name from it, but i never truly *heard* that connection until this track!
even then, what really gets me is that a lot of people say this reminds them of the witcher 3 soundtrack (and i definitely see why), but i heard some middle eastern sounds in that as well. silver for monsters is probably the best example for this, but both bg3 and the witcher 3 have slavic roots, so it’s insanely fascinating to see them interlapping like this
More of this please!! Keep reacting to Baldurs gate 3 tracks!! I love this type of content
