I'm not sure how you're doing it, but there's also a spell that can be unlocked with Gail just by leveling up, which is 3 or 4 spell lvl. It is a concentration spell and gives extra action to the one under the spell (you can cast it on anyone)

You can get even more if you give him a potion of bloodlust. It gives you an extra action if you get a kill on your turn
