The fact that this cop said they have the right to deny public record requests of their videos is EXACTLY why our right to record in these buildings needs to be protected. We know they will fight tooth and nail to deny transparency if it makes them look bad or they have broken the law.

I also find this to be impossible. I was watching another UA-camr whose channel is over a completely different genre, think sensational town visits, and some random old man even said to him while filming "you wanna them frauditors looking for a response". Everyone has at least some idea.
Within a year, it became difficult to get servants to go nuts over a camera in canada... but in America its been 5+ years and still going strong with the disdain...

@@dranderson6071 One can assume bad intent until the cows come home, but doing so toward the public doesn't foster trust. Signs need to be clear as well, and that sign with the arrow was vague. Restricted area 'down that way' is what it seems to indicate.

Last time I was in Decatur, I went to a church. The town was cool. The cops weren’t so nice when I got pulled over for stopping at a stop sign. Literally. …and I quote, “most people don’t stop at this stop sign, so it was suspicious that you stopped when there was no traffic.” I remained silent, until I was “free to go.”

Our eyes don't have a zoom capability such as camera's have. Auditors often zoom onto things that they cannot see very well with the naked eye.

They need to be taught to take orders rather than give directives to law abiding citizens
The reason they do it is to assert the illusion of authority over you. And they do so by exercising THEIR 1A right to freedom of speech. So it's just a catch 22 and it is unnecessary to get annoyed by it. Just expect it, and have a canned response ready to talk over them with ("don't b**t your wife, don't run with scissors, don't eat yellow snow," etc.) No need to allow it to get under your skin. Come up with a unique response that stings and you're good.
Honestly, since I grew up 30 minutes from Decatur, that went much better than I actually expected it to. Huntsville, AL might be a different story. Some of the most hateful public employees and police I have ever met in my life.
In America anyone can watch a trial in a courtroom - space permitting. Some goof saying you can’t visit a courtroom unless you are appearing in court is nonsense.

I live here in Northern Alabama and I appreciate you coming and doing these audits. I hope you come to my Hometown of Huntsville. Alabama and go to the Madison County courthouse and Madison County jail and even the library. Because I know you will probably find some tyrants. In those buildings man.
