The claim of an "eternal spirit life" only feeds into the idea of the earthly flesh life being a sin. At the vary least you could admit that your predisposition to see the flesh world as sin is what makes the argument for a world beyond flesh life some goal to seek. What if there is no life beyond flesh and your belief of the flesh world being sin isn't true? Selling people a spiritual heaven life beyond life just because you consider the flesh world a "sin" will not be made up for if you are wrong but sold them how better it will be after flesh life. This type of reasoning is a con that will not apologize if all humanity left life into non existing infinity under the impression they were getting some greater spirit life beyond. This is about particular morality peddling, not the eventual if ever finally proven truth of these beliefs.
The concept of the spirit dying off by feeding the flesh is not a claim to a tangible happening but a euphemism for some sort of moral "soul" decay by feeding the flesh. The truth is that modern religion is an anti/post life movement, if all you have to sell is getting to beyond flesh life then how isn't that a warped belief sails pitch?

Probably because Ozzy was off getting drunk somewhere. You can clearly hear and see the lyrical difference when RJD joined Sabbath. Listen to Holy Diver or Last In Line or Sacred Heart and it is def that same DIO D.N.A .
Ha ha, no it was because Ozzy can't write lyrics or music to save his life, drunk or straight. He takes writing credits on his solo stuff, mainly due to his manipulative bitch wife Sharon, but if you watch interviews with different people he's worked with he didn't write shit.
Yep, totally agreed. Bob Daisley wrote and got screwed over on writing Ozzy’s lyrics for years. And don’t even get me started on what the Osbournes did to Jake E. Lee!
@@coinraker6497 Yeah. Ronnie always wrote the lyrics. Nearly always. I remember on the back of the vinyl album covers of the albums RJD did with Black Sabbath, it always said: "All lyrics and melodies written by Ronnie James Dio." Because he wrote the words to the songs he sang and the vocal melody lines he sang as well. I believe that was true of his albums with Rainbow, They all said "All lyrics and melodies by Ronnie James Dio." In some cases they said "unless otherwise noted" because, at least on Rainbow On Stage, Rainbow played at least 2 songs Ronnie did NOT write the lyrics for: Deep Purple's hit "Mistreated" which was written by Deep Purple's then-lead-singer David Coverdale and Ritchie Blackmore. Rainbow's cover of "Still I'm Sad" was written by Paul Samwell-Smith and Jim McCarty of The Yardbirds. Rainbow/Blackmore also interpolated B.B. King's blues song "Rock Me Baby" which was obviously not written by Ronnie James Dio.☺ (Ritchie did an interpolation of "Rock Me Baby" while he was still with Deep Purple, too, if I remember correctly. I think they did a slow blues jam on Made in Europe, I believe during the song "Mistreated" because I seem to remember David Coverdale singing the words to the song in his bluesy baritone. Don't believe Ronnie sang along to "Rock Me Baby" with Rainbow, the way David Coverdale did with Deep Purple...)
@@krytenLister well, if you think that is the only message it brings... OK then... But, by "deep" I mean not only the lyrics, but the instrumental as well
I beg to differ: it is deep. Why do we build "up"?. Then even deeper is the person thinking originally it will improve the world and then realize rhis was not the answer. How many times have we built towards the skies and put a mere human in mythical esteem. Science aside. It had to start somewhere. Waaaay deep
Don't forget Tarot Woman or Light in the Black. The solo is worth that one alone. Then move on to the long live rock and roll album. Kill the King, LA connection. Gates of Babylon.
Great reaction man! I think this is Black Sabbath's greatest song, and one of the best songs of all time; of all genres. (and Black Sabbath is not even in my top 3 bands)

Rainbow in the Dark is his most COMMERCIAL and poppy song dude. He needs to listen to Sign of the Southern Cross, Don't Talk to Strangers, I, After All (The Dead), Egypt (The Chains Are On), Children of the Sea, Falling Off The Edge of The World, Shame on the Night, Catch the Rainbow, etc)..
The lover of life is not a sinner. Just because you like to have fun and life life to the fullest doesnt mean youre a bad person. Thats what i take from it
Black Sabbath - Into The Void (this song basically created an entire subgenre of metal/rock called doom/stoner) Ozzy Osbourne - Mr Crowley (one of the greatest guitarists ever slaying it and melting your soul in the process)
You missed the idea behind "The lover of life's not a sinner". Those things you say, "the temptations" are actually anti-life. Being drunk, stoned, hating others; all things that take away from true life. Real Joy contains none of those things. Dio was a smart fellow and I am guessing well read.

And with that, Pennywise and Valiant both show me that arguing about religion is annoying. And pointless considering no one knows what happens when we die. And if we pick the wrong religion, we are going to some form of Hell anyway. I'm agnostic and I don't judge others' beliefs, but Muslims and Christians seem to commonly judge. Not all, just some.

@@bryanleonard8008 if you dont believe in anything but a joke at least your walk in life is making people laugh without knowing it your doing what you were ment to do
Those temptations You mentioned are only distractions from real life. Humans suffer and miss out on real "Life" because we continually strive after things that do not give lasting happiness. We desperately try to hold on to, or try to attain things that do not matter... Row to the middle of a secluded lake. Stand alone in a field or forest. Look around you. Smell and even taste the air... Listen to how "loud" the silence is with the nature and all of it's life that surrounds you... THAT is the "Life" (IMO) that Dio was speaking of. In fact this is a riff I want to learn on my 6 string tomorrow at the latest! And Ozzy's vocals are awesome! Please give it a chance to get this song out to more people so they can appreciate it too
It's so cool that youtube has enabled young people who were born after great music came out to discover it for the first time and realize how special and everlasting their voice could be. Rest In Peace Ronnie James Dio, both lyricist and legend.
This was the very first album I bought on my own, with my own Christmas Cash when I was 13 years old. To see you now, almost 40 years later having the same reaction as I did is awesome. After you devour this album you must move to the next one in line - The Mob Rules - the second Ronnie James Dio album and if you want deep meaning some of that album just might bring you to tears - the Song Over and Over, Falling off the Edge of the World and Sign of the Southern Cross will instantly burn their way into your permanent memory - Heaven and Hell is an amazing album - I just think Mob Rules is a little better because the band was more in sync and worked a little better together as a unit so the songs were more intense, less restrained.
After watching your reactions, I feel blessed to have grown up listening to Sabbath and Dio amongst many others of my generation. Glad you enjoyed it and found meaning in it.
What is so great about songs like this is that they require more thought if the listener really wants to appreciate their full meaning. Dio’s lyrics had a lot of deep poetic meanings.
Dio is the Grand Wizard of Rock and Metal, the guy has been around forever. Straight up legend :D Check out his solo band called Dio. Songs like Holy Diver, Rainbow the dark, Last in line and so on :) Maybe even his work with the band Rainbow with ex Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore :)
I heard this song when it was first released, back in the day, and it still blows me away now. Stoked your on board, Dio has a big catalogue, solo, and in various bands, Enjoy!

Preston....I know what you're meaning by the line of "the lover of life's not a sinner", however my view on that is this: So many religions teach that you have to neglect this life in order to get to "heaven". I'm definitely NOT speaking for Dio, but my take is that we should enjoy life as much as possible. No one knows from one minute to the next if you're gonna be here. So enjoy Life while you can because it's just a vapor. Ronnie often said the individual decides what is Heaven or Hell for them in this existence. So for me its be the best fucking version of yourself you can be, and make all the dumb shit Irrelevant! I've said it before man, you're the only Reaction person I'll watch. You're genuine. Peace. That's to fuckin funny! Man on the silver mountain I just got thru listening to that! Then I saw Prestons post!😜
Come and make me holy again
I'm a wheel I'm a wheel I can roll I can feel, and you can't stop me turnin'
🤘 Live is better: Man on the Silver mountain (Live 1985)
ua-cam.com/video/9q9YkXWbxzA/v-deo.html
That song title is on his grave stone, which makes sense because that is what we always called him. The Man on the Silver Mountain.
Dio is/was a fantastic lyricist. Love his era in Sabbath."The moon is just the sun at night".
Did he write that? I know during Ozzy's era that Geezer Butler wrote all the lyrics.
Lee!
@@coinraker6497
Yeah. Ronnie always wrote the lyrics.
Nearly always.
I remember on the back of the vinyl album covers of the albums RJD did with Black Sabbath, it always said:
"All lyrics and melodies written by Ronnie James Dio."
Because he wrote the words to the songs he sang and the vocal melody lines he sang as well.
I believe that was true of his albums with Rainbow,
They all said "All lyrics and melodies by Ronnie James Dio."
In some cases they said "unless otherwise noted" because, at least on Rainbow On Stage, Rainbow played at least 2 songs Ronnie did NOT write the lyrics for:
Deep Purple's hit "Mistreated" which was written by Deep Purple's then-lead-singer David Coverdale and Ritchie Blackmore.
Rainbow's cover of "Still I'm Sad" was written by Paul Samwell-Smith and Jim McCarty of The Yardbirds.
Rainbow/Blackmore also interpolated B.B. King's blues song "Rock Me Baby" which was obviously not written by Ronnie James Dio.☺
(Ritchie did an interpolation of "Rock Me Baby" while he was still with Deep Purple, too, if I remember correctly.
Do you like deep songs? Listen STARGAZER by Rainbow... Dio that sings too
A wizard building a tower ....not really what you would call DEEP ???
@@krytenLister well, if you think that is the only message it brings... OK then... But, by "deep" I mean not only the lyrics, but the instrumental as well
I beg to differ: it is deep. Why do we build "up"?. Then even deeper is the person thinking originally it will improve the world and then realize rhis was not the answer. How many times have we built towards the skies and put a mere human in mythical esteem. Science aside. It had to start somewhere. Waaaay deep
@@diyoung8554 it is a deep song about cult of personality and then realising that they failed.
Don't forget Tarot Woman or Light in the Black. The solo is worth that one alone.
Then move on to the long live rock and roll album. Kill the King, LA connection. Gates of Babylon.
Why Preston is the best reaction guy:
It's totally into it and not just pumping out content for views.
Great reaction man! I think this is Black Sabbath's greatest song, and one of the best songs of all time; of all genres. (and Black Sabbath is not even in my top 3 bands)
Sign of the Southern Cross. You will NOT be sorry, but you will be spoiled rotton.
He will not be sorry? He would be like "hold on bruhhhhhh"
Agreed!
Your selections have been excellent this week!
Death - symbolic
Pretty sure it’ll get a hold on bruh within 10 seconds of listening.
Video with lyrics preferably 🤘🏻❤️
The first reaction to this song that not only did the whole mandolin outro but did it again.👍
Usurper123 That’s not a mandolin. It’s just a nylon string guitar.
It's been 11 years since Ronnie left us. July 10 on his birthday bless us all. Miss you Ronnie. Been 46 years since I heard Man on the Silver Mountain, still my favorite song. Thank you King KTF for giving Ronnie some appreciation. Bless you!
I had these lyrics written all over my notebooks in high school. This whole album is a smoker.
How about doing a Dio song now like Holy Diver, last in line, or maybe even don't talk to strangers or even Rainbow in the Dark
or man on the silver mountain
All the fools sailed away?
@@argantyr5154 it's a good song I was thinking more of hit just his solo stuff rather than rainbow or even Black Sabbath
Or straight through the heart
Rainbow- Stargazer
P. S. Amazing vocal performance
Excellent review! I've been listening to this song since 1980 and your breakdown is spot on!
Rainbow - Stargazer
The lover of life is not a sinner. Just because you like to have fun and life life to the fullest doesnt mean youre a bad person. Thats what i take from it
That's metal. Great experience Preston. Thanks for sharing. Ronnie James Dio was truly a special man.
Black Sabbath - Into The Void (this song basically created an entire subgenre of metal/rock called doom/stoner)
Ozzy Osbourne - Mr Crowley (one of the greatest guitarists ever slaying it and melting your soul in the process)
You missed the idea behind "The lover of life's not a sinner". Those things you say, "the temptations" are actually anti-life. Being drunk, stoned, hating others; all things that take away from true life. Real Joy contains none of those things. Dio was a smart fellow and I am guessing well read.
Thank you for saying that... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✌😎👍
Waking each summer morning to a sunrise, and being able to go do what you love...Like I go fishing river wye in wales, most beautiful scenery on aunday afternoon in a warm summer...is best natural high....most people who need drugs are missing that spark of life...
Don't 4 get wealth
@Pennywise Wadford dude I highly admire your willpower to hold a conversation with a troll and/or an imbecile... Mad respect for replying my dude 👏 (no sarcasm)

Some of Iomi's best guitar work, and Dio was THE man... Love watching these videos.
*CHILDREN OF THE SEA* .. is another *GREAT* song off that album, .. written by the *GREAT Ronnie James Dio.*
Hey King KTF, listen to Liberals are icky. Children of the sea is a fantastic song!!
Sign Of The Southern Cross, Over and Over and Falling Off The Edge Of The World- all top Dio/ Sabbath songs
Mob Rules is a certified banger from start to finish.
Brian Koonts the WHOLE Mob Rules album 👌
I should have been more specific. I was referring to the album. Every single song is incredible.
Brian Koonts true 👍
I've listened to "Over and Over" over and over and over and over and...
Black Sabbath- Over and Over
RAINBOW - Stargazer!!!! you got to try it. PUT MORE DIO IN YOUR LIFE
This is the best review of this song ever man your feel for music is amazing
My favorite artist ever! Glad you had the opportunity to listen.
Dio! One of the very very best
The producer of this song was MARTIN BIRCH the iconic producer of Deep Purple,Black Sabbath,Rainbow,Iron Maiden(the golden era).
One of the GREATESTS
Не знаех това !
Good job. You are definitely on the path now!
That being said, I just found your channel and like your reactions and message. I'm off to check some more of your uploads. Thumbs up.
Glad you enjoyed it! One of my favorite songs from Sabbath. I hope you listen to the entire album, I think you’ll dig it. 👍🏻
Black Sabbath songs w/ Dio similar to Heaven and Hell:
Over and Over
Lonely is the Word
Sign of the Southern Cross
Falling of the Edge of the World
Non-Dio:
Headless Cross
Anno Mundi
Tony Martin-era Sabbath never gets enough love. Both of those, When Death Calls, The Shining, and I Witness are all awesome and underrated.
That whole album is great as is their next album "Mob Rules".
The guy who produced this was the same guy who produced the first 9 Iron Maiden albums (Martin Birch).
Edit: He didn’t produce the very first one. They were too scared to ask him.
xanthos tsafalopoulos exactly!
And all the Rainbow albums with Dio (producer, engineer, mixing) and the Mob rules album with Black sabbath. Brilliant engineer/producer/mixer !
Oh yeah? What a fantastic body of work!. I want to personally thank him for Killers, best metal album of all time imo.
Try TV Crimes from the Dehumaniser album. That got some great lyrics
+xanthos, guess that explains why the production value on Maiden's first album is lacking.
They will tell you black is white and the moon is just the sun at night
Those are the lyrics.
A song that doesn't get enough credit from Black Sabbath is "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"! This main riff makes you understand why they are the fathers of heavy metal! You will not be disappointed! In fact this is a riff I want to learn on my 6 string tomorrow at the latest! And Ozzy's vocals are awesome! Please give it a chance to get this song out to more people so they can appreciate it too
Dio - Egypt
Rainbow - Gates of Babylon
Black Sabbath - Die Young
Looking for deep lyrics? Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death
One of the greatest songs ever
Absolutely. With one of the best solos too. Glenn kills it.
It's too bad they don't have a pro audio release from the Ram it Down Metal Mercenaries tour. Halford was FIRE like you've never heard!
Yeah we really really want that one.
Absolutely .....
Mercyful Fate- Melissa
beautiful, haunting music and the most unique vocals in metal
You are the King of Reaction!!! ;) More Metal :) I think you are a metalhead.TOP!
Black Sabbath - After Forever. I think you would really dig that one.
Yes deep lyrics for that one too
Yup. That is the one that left all of those who accused Sabbath of worshipping Satan scratching their heads. Small minds...
Ok Preston....dig it, try these Sabbath songs from the Dio era.
- Sign of the Southern Cross
- Falling off the Edge of the World
- Voodoo
Enjoy 😎
After watching your reactions, I feel blessed to have grown up listening to Sabbath and Dio amongst many others of my generation. Glad you enjoyed it and found meaning in it.
What is so great about songs like this is that they require more thought if the listener really wants to appreciate their full meaning. Dio’s lyrics had a lot of deep poetic meanings.
Symptom of the universe the greatest outro in history
Dio is the Grand Wizard of Rock and Metal, the guy has been around forever. Straight up legend :D Check out his solo band called Dio. Songs like Holy Diver, Rainbow the dark, Last in line and so on :) Maybe even his work with the band Rainbow with ex Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore :)
DiverHoly1 you must hear “too late” by Black Sabbath (dio vocals)
The devil cried - black sabbath .. one of the best dio songs
I heard this song when it was first released, back in the day, and it still blows me away now. Stoked your on board, Dio has a big catalogue, solo, and in various bands, Enjoy!
Probably my favorite hard rock album of all time. They hit gold with this one! Nice review my friend.
Saw Sabbath with Blue Oyster Cult on Black and Blue tour in the fall of 80 (I believe). Great show. Then had the great opportunity to see Dio with Heaven and Hell a few years before he past. RIP Ronnie.
It cool now how we all come together over music good job
Dio is amazing!!!!! Check out the gates of babylon and stargazer!
Hi King KTF.. Thank you my good man, I like your style analyze piece at a time, I just subscribe you. I see you like Dio, God Bless you. Listen to Children of the Sea same Album. ItS awesome !!! Enjoy
So glad to see this song being appreciated, its a metal masterpiece. Thanks for the reaction! It's one of my favorite songs too.
Do Lonely Is The Word and be prepared to have your heartstrings pulled. Hard.
lol, 20 secs in head boppin', you're already hooked
Peace.
P.S. This song is telling us what Life truly is. Love ya brother.
yes!!! all of this
the lover of life means you are not a taker of life, not a killer, you appreciate your life and value others.
I have listened to Dio 4 30+ years and I have loved his music 4 all occasions and moods , as 4 Heaven and Hell it would be one of my favourite,s . God rest you Ronnie James Dio .
The whole album is great, Die Young, Lonely is the World, Wishing Well, all great
You are knocking it out, love this. Tribute to RJD. Massive and Epic.
I'm off to go peek through your videos to see if you happened to do Dio's Sign Of the Southern Cross... if not, I just want to remind you it's MY favorite if you would like to hear it
I love the fact there is passion in your reviews. You understand tempo changes. You also recognize and fully understand the lyrics. Most reviewers don't do that. Hense why I only follow of you anymore. Thanks brah! You make reviews fun and make it seem like it's the first time I'm hearing these songs again
The whole line with "the lover of life's not a sinner" to me it sounds connected to the other lines till he says "the sooner you realize you're a dreamer" (I think that was it word for word) canceling it out like only in your dreams. That's just how I saw it anyway, 1st time hearing this as well, I think. Great reaction as always.
