    I've never seen so many effectors applied to one thing..,it's BEAUTIFUL hahahah

      haha yeah it broke my brain to realize that was a possible/viable approach!

    Lovely! And this is where a "for each" loop comes in handy :) C4d needs to start adding those stuff!

      Yeah, things like the Smooth Deformer have "iterations". Handful of tools where that could be handy.

    Chris you are the only reason why C4D is still relevant to me....THX man!

    Nice one., it looks they used this technique now for now the opening screen of c4D 2023.1

    Nice! Would love to see Maxon create a capsule to handle this sort of duplication.

    Thanks Chris, I always struggled with this effector. Hopefully Maxon will address this one day so we don't have to keep doing this workaround.

    Wow, I never dreamed it was "permissible" to include that many Effectors all targeting one Cloner instance!

    Maxon should check out this video and greatly improve the push apart effector with some really useful parameters for animation.

  • @marcus_ohreallyus

    It's brilliant that you came up with this....but the push apart effector should just work smoothly instead of needing workarounds.

    Here is a quick tip for anyone having problems with this techneque: Use the Push Apart and Delay ONLY for Position. Then have another Random effector for scale AFTER your many push and Delay effectors.

  • @3dduff

    Chris, again THANK YOU...Your saving my butt with this technique right now. Please do your magic and wisper in the ear of Maxon to build this "recursive" effect into the Push Apart tool. Like you said The effector is almost useless with out this functionality!!! But this DOES create a big opportunity for a 3rd party developer to salve a problem Maxon wont. ;)

    Chris, BIG fan, as you know, but WT??? - I've heard of workarounds to fix glitchy software, but to have to do the equivalent of stand on one foot, during a lunar equinox and THEN add THIRTY-TWO copies of TWO separate effectors into a teetering stack - like, wait, WHAT!?! I mean, love this super-tight, topic-centric bite size tut format you've done here, but sheeeeesh

    • @RocketLasso
      @RocketLasso  2 роки тому

      I don't believe that the Push Apart Effector was ever pitched as an animation tool. It does one mechanical thing. I've tricked it into doing something new.

      @@RocketLasso Fair enough, so, kudos on your literal 'good hack' - respect.

    Great, I think you can make an effector that will be like a FOR LOOP. user will add standard effectors (as you did) but instead of copying and adding them to the cloner it would be done "internaly" by the plugin/effector . Of course the most obvious paramenter would be LOOP iterations.
    Other than that ,awesome trick.

    Great tutorial Chris :-) Being just an "all rounder" in C4D I still think, that it is a bit weird if there is not an easier way to fix this??? Best regards

    How about setting up Matrix-Cloner-Dynamics-Follow position?

  • @bobbarth6936

    Remember Chris, you are a dev, if it annoys you, you can always make a plugin for it 😁
    PushApart sucks and we all know it.

    This is a creative, but pretty messy and hacky solution that barely gets the job done. Although slower I'd do a rigid body sim to avoid the intersections.
    But honestly Maxon should just fix the push apart effector and do a simple physics calculation to avoid intersections - it's not 1998 anymore. Games do such things in real time easily.

    • @berlev
      @berlev Рік тому

      My exact thoughts, i replicated the effect quite fast with physics and follow position to ease the movement. And yes there are flocking algorithms that do this thing quite easy

    Nice tip! Do you try recreate push apart effector with nodes?

    • @RocketLasso
      @RocketLasso  2 роки тому

      Nope. I'm sure the math could be done for it though.

  • @emilienlerochais

    Interesting but my endless search for cleanest and optimized file can't validate this... So messy!

  • @thinkingoutloud3757
    @thinkingoutloud3757 2 роки тому

    So... What if you could group the original 2 effectors, and there was a new "compound" command on the group....

    • @RocketLasso

      Would be great if the settings were just built into the Push Apart. A feature request I suppose!
