i cant thank you enough. I am older than most who pick up C4D. Other than a basic interface tutorial everything I have learned has been through your tuts and classes. Im not great but it is incredibly fun. Thanks.
could you please do a tutorial on basic character rigging? I have been trying for a while now, looking at other tuts on youtube, but they aren't very clear or straight to the point. thanks man, great tutorial as always.
@@CRIMELAB357 we've recorded a modeling, rigging and animating course, just need to finish polishing it up. We'll update everyone on this at the end of this month;)
This was great but I wish you could show how to get the multiple textures onto the ropes. I know you use Octane, but even talking thru that might help with those of us using Redshift or the standard renderer
Hi Muhammed! I always use Octane to render these and because not everyone has access to the plugin, I don't always go through the process (as it's often the same steps each time). If you want to see exactly how I've done the lighting and texturing, all the final render ready project files (which include all the lighting, materials and render settings) can be downloaded from our website: cgshortcuts.com/product/spline-attractor-render-ready/ or our Patreon page: www.patreon.com/cgshortcuts . We also hope to do more in-depth courses and tutorials about lighting and rendering soon;) Thanks for watching!
Great question! As it's a bit hard to give you a good answer here in the comments, any chance you could post your question on our Facebook Group and one of our community members can give you a hand;) If you could post some screenshots of your issue too that would be super helpful! I've been looking for a method to simulate a string ball for days. Actually my main purpose is to simulate a cocoon. This tut is the best and only one close to create a cocoon sim I think. 👍 Add: I've tried and my PC was too slow to calculate soft body dynamics. So I've replaced it with rope but it doesn't get affected by field force. I use two collider half spheres to press a long string to get the sahpe but that doesn't go well. :) Yes. Hi, Dave how much would charge me for a tutorial about Soft Body applied on cloth? I'd been trying to make a table cloth with kink and frizz hair details, the kind of hair detail you get on a Wool Jersy or a blanket. I have animated the table cloth and added wind blowing it. Now the problem is, the table cloth is elastic, a real-life cloth material made of cotton is not elastic. I want to go for a realistic look. How to simulate cloth with a soft body and not get elasticity on your cloth?

Yeah this Tute has been around for a while, the software has changed a lot. We have rope dynamics now which can be set up in a very similar way, it sims much faster now too

just put a different material on each clone
Nice one!
Interesting, thanks for sharing this knowledge
Glad you found it useful mate! Thanks for watching ;)
Great tut Mike, remembering those tangled mess of shoelaces back in the day 🤣
Superb....
Nice
Great stuff!! But how did you put on different textures on the sweep-object?
They're just UV mapped and tiled. Grab the project file to see the exact setup;)
can you all so add the part of adding materials to object made in the upcoming tutorials DAVE!

so true
Great tutorial! Thank you. What prevents the ropes from intersecting when the dynamics tag is placed below the Sweep Nurb in the hierarchy?
Dynamics tag > Collision > Size increment, play with it!
@@sicfxmusic Ah, that makes sense. Thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial but wish you'd shown how to texture & shading either

You might be better off using the hair system for a cocoon, depends on how you want to animate it
How is the application of several materials in the same cloner, I have only one color ?
