Blink 4 - Should You Buy It?

The 4th generation of Blink has hit the market with a bang. It promises improved features like: Wire-free smart security camera, two-year battery life, two-way audio, HD live view, enhanced motion detection, CV (computer vision for persons), Works with Alexa.
But is it worth the extra money? Should you upgrade to the latest or remain with the current model?
We'll talk about this in today's video as we unbox and review the camera.

I just got mine today. I already had about 2 online indoor mini Blink Cameras paying $3 for each separately. So $6 a month total. I had to use 2 separate phone numbers withy Amazon Account to get it to work. Now I have to read more about the outdoor 4 collaborative with these other 2. I think it's $10 a month. Thank you for your demonstration because wanted to make sure I was using the Clamps right. Didn't want to break it on day 1. Thanks again. I have subscribed

Man, I wish they would make it so you could change the notification. Mine don’t even wake me up at night I mean that’s the reason I got it.

Wow I watched all your videos about Blink and they sure were helpful to a blink newbie. I have the doorbell and the mini pan view that have been working great till about 2 weeks ago. Now I get this HTTP error 406 while watching clip playbacks on the sync USB from my Android mobile phone. Its sporadic not constant. Maybe after playback of 3 to 5 clips it starts with the error. I contacted blink support and went through all the fixes they provide on their web page and even more. The technician finally blamed it on my wifi network or mobile firewall which I have no firewall or cleanup apps on my phone. I reset routers and contacted Spectrum. Spectrum blamed it back on the Blink cameras which I believe is the real problem. I'm thinking Blink did some sort of firmware upgrade that is now causing errors. Do you know of this recent error and how to fix it?

That's a great question.
I hadn't heard of this problem. Is your phone connected to the 2ghz part of wifi?

Its a good upgrade but the only downfall for me is that it will only give you early notification. So when it alerts you, and you click it. It goes to live view or if you wait then you can view the clip.

I think the "light" above camera on the blink 3 is actually the IR sensor, that is for the night vision.

Yeah, that is the IR Illuminator lamp, I think.

Sending my blink cameras all back I watched your tips and tricks very grateful for the info but they can only catch something that seems to stay in the view of the camera for a while otherwise it starts recording the video late and misses whatever or whoever was there. So I decided to switch to Eufy instantly caught the kids next door snooping in between the carport looking for their golf ball they hit the house and always heard a bang but never knew what it was. I have been finding dents in both the truck and PT cruiser and had no proof of why. I have a feeling this will change once I get all the evidence I need to give to the police.

Haha my battery’s only lasted 1 week !!
