Bought this one because the older version ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQ had was really choppy and would disconnect from the wifi ALOT, was not catching everything and every week j had to charge it. So far the picture quality on this one is exceptional. I also bought a solar panel with it so I will see how this all turns out.

I no longer get motion detected without the subscription. Kind of pointless having it now . Unless there is a way to get motion detection without having to pay ?
It would be kind of cool within the app, if you could see the battery percentage in each outdoor camera so you would know when to change or recharge the batteries.

@@Reizermo Yes, but it only shows when they are very low, after the notification. Not good if you are going for vacation. I would prefer to be able to check the percentage when I want to know, so I can plan for it. In my case the brand new batteries, just lasted about a month. I didn’t expected it to be so short. So I guess the batteries can last up to two years if you hardly ever use it. Or don’t use it at all 😂
@@daliacn8848 Simple, just put in new batteries before going on vacation. If you can go on vacation, you can afford new batteries ok.

I have three, they are unreliable and the video detection is delayed when triggered, often the source has traveled out of frame prior to recording. They often lose contact with the sync module even when within 20 feet. Any movement of flowers, trees or animals (cats and dogs included) will trigger them.

As for camera theft since it just clips to the mount, I am no computer expert, but what if you removed the label within the battery compartment showing the MAC address and serial number. How can someone use it then without that data? I may have lost the camera, but it is useless to the thief.
I gotta say the quality is not bad at all but my only issue is the delay time, other than that works great outdoor in extreme weather. I'm pretty happy with it for the $

I have read there is a sensitivity setting in the app that you can adjust delay time.
I send my video clips to my email address and save it on my email server. The only thing I find awkward is the delay in motion notification, by the time the notification arrives, whatever tripped the motion action could be already gone. Blink outdoor is good for the price and for what it is. Good video and presentation.
I find it much easier to just pull the Flash drive out and copy the whole drive to my computer and Remote NAS. It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes. For large drives I pull out the drive from the module and put in a different drive. This way the module ready in 5 minutes. Then I dump everything to my NAS. This will take longer but if I do this a the end of day in the morning it’s all coped and backed up
I had the same problem with mine but you can adjust that future in settings and you will reciprocate the notification within 3 seconds after it happens

They steal your money with this crap. Some days people show up at my place.. and the cameras did absolutely NOTHING!
I go over and check my settings.. a moment later. The camera sends a notification. Lmao 🤦🏻♂️

They will keep you busy with see nothing clips a super expensive battery replacement. Costing you double.
I used this for three months and it started showing problem. I called customer service and asked for help to fix it or replace it but the answer was, i should fix it myself, and for replacement she said their return policy was for 30 days. I trashed it lossing my almost two hundred dollar. I suggest better look for other options.
You should have called directly blink technical support. Your point of sales might have their own return window policy.
I realise the video is old but I've been using blink for just over a year now but i recently bought the Ring spotlight cam plus but after using it for a few weeks now i can honestly say in my opinion blink is better even though they are both 1080p i honestly feel like blink are just better and so was the audio so ill be just sticking with blink as i also have the blink doorbell
I used mine for 6-months and encountered too many problems.... 1) The app only supports the latest versions of iOS or Android and NO web access. So, once my iPhone became 2+ years old, the app was not updated and a large warning message was displayed that you cannot remove. 2). I chose to use the local storage option (via USB in the control module), and it took the app longer and longer to load - up to 1 minute just to get a listing, then another 30-seconds. So it can take upwards of 1-1.5 minutes just to display a video. What's worst is as the list of videos gets longer, so does the time it takes to download the listing. Also, once you are looking at a video, other cameras cannot record. If one camera is recording, you cannot view a video or see "live view" on any other cameras.... The system is single-threaded, that is once a camera is busy, nothing else works. So, if somebody is trying to break into your house or there's a lot of activity, chances are ZERO you will be able to see, let alone interact (2-way speaker) with anything. 3). Sometimes alerts and recordings just stop working for a week or two. During that time, you have performed every possible debugging action possible, then all of a sudden, it starts working again. I believe this is some problem at Amazon. 4) The cameras start recording about 10-seconds (at least on my cameras) after movement is detected, so by the time the recording happens, the car, person is usually long gone. There is a lot of strange "white noise" that drowns out the actual noise you need to hear (people's voices, etc), so sound recording is very below average. 5) the system performs NO caching, so if you just viewed a video and want to look at it (or another one), it has to re-download everything (with the long wait).
This comment is accurate. I have 6 blinks(3 outdoor, 3 indoor) hooked into a large USB drive on the sync module. If you're serious about surveillance around your property, these are junk due to what was listed in this comment. You will probably need hardwired cameras looping thru a HDD to be satisfied. Blinks can be convenient at times but I bought for safety/security concerns and these unfortunately aren't reliable enough to meet my expectations.

$100 for unlimited online 60 day storage seems with it to me. I don't have to worry about anything being stolen locally (usb device). Which actually happened with my first security system (they took the whole thing). Battery life is being tested now. But by price comparison, one camera for the other systems was 259 bucks. 5 cameras for blink and a base were 279. No contest there. Replaced the 4 I had (2nd system) with wireless. I like the voice through the camera option.
Ps. Only swore 3 times setting the system up, and didn't need tech support (in the end, it was more switching between non -broadcast Wi-Fi settings that messed me up just a little bc user error: forgot password).
Just ordered the 3 pack outdoor from Amazon. Not sure it comes with the module. I ordered a module anyhow. Any issues or ways to extend battery life like hooking up a power bank or something to each camera? Hate to have power banks in the MI snow outside lol

I'd prefer not drilling holes through my home or walls but ideally no batteries to change outside etc.

I love these for certain locations. But the delay and missed motion as well as not having any smart processing driving nuts sometimes. I get hundreds of activations for wasps being interested in the cameras, but none for a person. It's crazy. But for those locations that are far away I'm glad I have something rather than nothing.
I experience the same triggering problems. By the time the video starts I've missed several seconds of motion.

@@shanew7361 Do yourself a favor and get a real surveillance system. These should not be called cameras. They don't start recording until after the movement has already happened. Then it only records up to 1 minute. I get UPS and FedEx deliveries every day and my camera will pick up the truck backing up. Then record 1 minute. When the driver is carrying the package it doesn't record because it supposedly has to wait 10 seconds between recordings, it's actually closer to 30-45 seconds. The next video I get is the truck leaving. If this were a person pulling up to take my package, I would have no idea what the person looked like or if they actually took the package. This system sucks!!

I want this so that I can get "instant" feedback on my archery shots. Binoculars still don't work well straight on to the fletchings, so this set up at an off angle would be awesome.🏹🤠👍

I live in Cambridgeshire UK. Our Watchdog asked for help to get the best outdoor security camera and any advice and help to set it up. Nobody wanted to help. B and Q Home improvement store, told me that they had a big displace end of December 2021. went there, the employee did not have a clue of how they operated!!!. The service you get in this country is so defunct.
There like a trail cam. I will stick with my wyze v3 which i can live streem cams.
Also the blink can miss recording the target because of its lag after detection. Dont have this problem with wyze v3 .plus v3 is only 35 bucks.
Wyze has a security issue where people can hack in to the system and view your cameras. They knew about this for 2 years and swept it under the rug. I would never trust a company like that.

Does your picture quality seem kinda blurry? We just installed three of these.
How long are the video clips once the camera starts capturing video based on motion? Are the continuous until the motion stops, or are they only for a specific duration?
My blink doorbell (not sure if they have the same settings but I imagine so), allows you to set the duration of the recording and also how long you want it to not trip for after it does trip.

Really like the Blink, until they went to the usb or cloud. Old camera was able to view pictures, videos, and save just straight to app.

Blink Cameras and System are GARBAGE. I just had a bunch of tools stolen directly in front of an activated camera with full battery. Do NOT buy Blink Cameras, you will regret it.

I dont understand why mine Doesn't record the car arriving on the driveway or us getting out of the car, But it Films us walking away from the car..... A really useful feature, Its like a massive delay in motion detection, To when it starts Filming.... Any Idea's
Nothing you can do about it. Because of this delay I'm sending mines back. Pretty useless as a security cameras

There is no comparison between the 2 systems.
I want to be able to open the app. Select the camera and see what has happened that day whether motion was triggered or not…

The delay in notification makes the camera useless. Thieves can break into the home, clean it out, and be long gone before you get a notification on your phone.
These cameras they during the day but when it comes night time they get a little fogy during the day there're very sharp, a few months later there're not to bright. Thanks for the video

I would recommend getting separate sync modules if your cameras are located fairly far apart (eg. opposite sides of the house) because an insufficient signal between camera and modules will lead to communication problems
anything like this out there with very long battery life that stores to internal micro sd? A very large internal micro sd like 256GB? Something that does not require a base station?

Does it zoom? And does it hold a zoom? And does it continuously record?
Is there interference with a brick wall house ? Good video by the way.
There can be, but it worked fine for me with brick walls and the camera was probably 50FT away from the sync module.

Batteries definitely do not last long at all. I find that I am replacing them every two weeks at least! I do have my camera armed all the time but it's crazy how fast the batteries need to be replaced! A lot of times, I get activation notices and I seriously can't see why as I try to look and I see absolutely no movement.
Because it uses a standard USB connection I just plug in a rechargeable low cost power bank.
The one power bank will run my outdoor camera for 6 months or more. With the battery’s I was getting 2 months.
I use them on all my Blink outdoor camera and a few of my Blink minis.

Ah 15 or 20 miles wind. I'm not good at numbers so I'd have to feel that to see how strong that is. But good it seems then the mics aren't too sensitive. Where is the mic on the camera though could you wind screen it perhaps? Not all mics have this wind problem. Omni mics hear wind like your ears do when you have the windows down in your car and wind is blowing into them. I don't know about figure 8 ones. These must be cardioid.
How far is it wifi capable??
Mine is being returned... The camera can only display a live view for a max of 60 seconds and motion detection range is only 20 feet!
He says 30 feet for motion detection but I can tell you at night it won't trigger reliably at 20 feet.
Due to the poor night vision without a flood light this is not recommended for an three story building since it wont record a clear video to the parking lot ?

My problem is the camera take too long to come on when some one pass tru my gate I only see the gate closing but not who actually come in , and yes i try the highest and lowest sensitivity any one know why I can't see them the second they open the gate ?

No fee required, USB thumb drive can be installed to the white modular to record live footage or still shots. Or you can subscribe and pay 30 bucks a month to stored it in the cloud.

Does the constantly records clips throughout the day? Or would we need to set up?
What if a neighbour or someone nearby has a blink camera too, would they be able to link to your sync module and effectively spy on you? Or is there some kind of password system?

I don't know how he's getting 30 foot range. From personal experience these cameras have a motion detection range of 20 feet max on a good day. Can't pick up a human walking left to right past 17-20 feet in daylight. Regret purchasing 5 of these cameras. Also subscription is $3 a month per camera or $10 a month for unlimited devices.
I just purchased the blink outdoor. I don't like how easy it is to pull the camera off the mount. What's stopping someone from walking up and just taking it off the house?
Once you log into the Blink Camera app do you need to enter a password every time you open the app? (would be for an iOS user if that makes a difference)
I use an.Android. And I do not have to log in every time.

8:25 is key.. I wish a lot of these different reviews would start off by explaining this ONE most important aspect to the different cameras available out there of which there are dozens. Good video though.
