I like all music by YES. It was great they made a comeback in the 80's. They introduced a new generation to their music. Fans herd their 80's music and then found their great 70s music. UA-cam is great now as new generations like yours can find this music for the first time.

Hi Shufflers. Dave from Londongrad here. Like you, Jana, I'm a big Beach Boys fan, and you're right, this is a nice blend of those harmonies and 80s rock. If I remember right, the other single from this album Love Will Find A Way was played more on UK radio, and was a minor hit here. Played Big Generator a lot when it came out, but these days Talk is my favourite Trevor Rabin era Yes album.

Trevor Rabin brought YES back to life. Love all his contributions to the band.

I hope you have "I'm Running" from this album on your shuffle list. IMO, that's the most epic on that record.

I first heard this song on a best of Yes CD I bought pretty early in my Yes journey and really found myself drawn to it- I like the almost sci-fi feel to the production, the layered harmonies and that catchy guitar hook.

Happy Sunday. . I grew up musically with all the 70s Yes stuff and was delighted to see the 80s change with Trevor Rabin and shocked to seeTony Kaye back with Yes. Never saw this version live however so grateful for UA-cam. Nathan. Have you done any Asia stuff from this time period

I'm familiar with some of Asia's bigger songs, but definitely haven't heard all of it. Could be fun to put on the channel!

I love classic Yes, but I’m also an 80s born kid and I LOVE 90125. I also love Drama, even though I love Jon Anderson I really think Trevor Horn did amazing as a stand in. Going for the One is actually my favorite and I also hold Close to the Edge and Fragile near and dear to my heart.
Bottom line, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with loving classic Yes and also loving 80s Yes. They are good for different reasons.

I fell the same way as Nathan about 80's Yes. Still good but we were spoiled by 6 masterpiece albums in the early 70's. Like many people I really discovered them in the 80's with 90125. In the last 5 years I realized what I had missed by not listening to the early 70's albums

This is the Yes song for when guys want to get their ladies out on the dance floor. 😉 The songs off this album that fit the 'prog' description would be "I'm Running" or "Final Eyes". Also the title track and "Shoot High Aim Low" perhaps. "Holy Lamb" tries to be an old-school JonSong in the vein of "Wonderous Stories" but doesn't quite deliver. And the less said about "Love Will Find a Way" the better (though Jana may like it). And for the record I don't dislike 80's music. But it still needs to be good music, and on that score Yes was definitely more hit-and-miss during this period.

Yes wanted first to do jazz music in the Beach Boys style !

Yor instincts were right, Jana. "Bass" is the right bass.
I have no issues with the Rabin era Yes. It's just that 90120 was a lot to live up to, and Big Generator fell short.

It looks like my comment got lost somehow. It was about 4 lines long. Hmmm!

A case of bad Yes still being better than 99% of what's out there
