Magnesium Glycinate has been an absolute God send for me. I take 300mg before bed and I sleep like a baby all night. I also wake up feeling very calm and don't have the scatter brain I usually wake up with. HIGHLY recommended for ppl with ADHD like myself.
For me the glycinate version was the worst. It gave me insomnia. I switched to the Citrate version and that one works a lot better. 2-300mg before beed and I get a good deep long sleep.
I will soon start taking Magnesium Threonate in the mornings for the braing and focus.
@@andreas956 I was the same with 150mg Glycinate. Taken before bed would give me insomnia. Will try Citrate and see if I fare better
@@Sa7biUK Let me know how it goes! For me it's still working well with Citrate.
I’m having the exact experience! It has changed my life! I sleep so well and wake feeling great! I’m floating all day with no dragging exhausted fatigue weighing me down. For those who have insomnia, I realized that it takes about 7 hours to make me sleepy. So I take it around 3pm. At 10 I can’t keep my eyes open. Which is my exact bedtime. Lol. I took it at 12pm once and was sleepy at 6pm. So for me I just have to take it about 7 hours before when I WANT to get sleepy.
I was initially skeptical about the efficacy of magnesium glycinate. This skepticism led to a two-month hiatus from taking it, believing it wouldn't make a difference. As someone with ADHD, my prescribed medication often induces anxiety and occasional confusion, which ironically, contradicts the primary reason I'm taking the medication.
On a break today, I was playing some Fallout NEw Vegas, and as per usual, I felt reasonably capable to listen, but I would sometimes zone out, forget instructions and context.
Today was particularly challenging. The weather was scorching, causing me to hydrate excessively, inevitably flushing out vital electrolytes from my system. The result was an overwhelming mental fog, characterized by bouts of anxiety and lack of focus. I supplemented my electrolyte balance with salt and incorporated potassium-rich foods into my diet, but a few hours later, my mental state remained unsettled.
Then, a recollection flashed across my mind - the magnesium glycinate tablets that I hadn't touched in months. I decided to take five tablets and astonishingly, the fog in my brain dissipated. I played Fallout New Vegas, and for the first time in a while, I found myself comprehending the instructions clearly, retaining information more effectively, and experiencing a noticeable improvement in my executive functioning.
Based on this experience, I plan to experiment with magnesium threonate, as it's often hailed as a more suitable supplement for those with ADHD.
This is from an article from NCBI
" The investigations comprised 116 children (94 boys and 20 girls), aged 9-12 years, with recognized ADHD."
"Magnesium levels have been determined in blood serum, red blood cells and in hair with the aid of atomic absorption spectroscopy. Magnesium deficiency was found in 95 per cent of those examined, most frequently in hair (77.6 per cent), in red blood cells (58.6 per cent) and in blood serum (33.6 per cent) of children with ADHD."
*Listening and nodding*
"Wait what did he say?"
*Go back and rewatch*
Repeat 3x
Yep. 😂😂😂😂 but I’ve been taking magnesium for about a week and I could actually focus. 😂😂😂 Now I want to add B12. He has a video about this too. Focus and energy! I wish people would push supplements and not medication. I took antidepressants for a few months and while they helped, the day i accidentally skipped one, I thought I was dying. I didn’t want to be a slave to pills that could have harmful long term effects.
Thank you for such a unique contribution, great free helpful info.
You’re so welcome 😁👍
Great great info!!!!! 😊
My 6 year old was recently diagnosed with ADHD and other than helping him out with daily routines and stuff I’ve been looking for a supplement to help him focus in school that wasn’t something super strong like aderall. I ordered some after watching this! Wish me luck!!
This is great thanks I found your video ok to understand when you concentrate on what you are saying you can really understand thanks maybe it was edited to be quicker
Thanks! Glad you liked it and understood it 😁
My fitness pal is useful normally but not helpful for tracking various nutrients. The app cronometer does do this a lot better, they let you track basically everything. I find I often don’t get enough magnesium eating like 2300 calories.
Thank you
Your welcome glad you liked the video. Anything you would like me to cover for ADHD?
THANK YOU! I have all of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency except consolation (I drink a lot of water lol) This has made my ADHD symptoms 10x worse. This is not ideal as I am a tecaher lol. I’m going to get some magnesium tomorrow. Let’s hope we see some improvements!
I just found I had it. I was so physically tired. My calve even began heavily shaking when I stood up. Standing up just hurt. My back and neck hurt a lot. Was right behind the point where I’d be able to stretch and see benefits.
Did it ever help?
I actually started this about 3 days ago and already notice a difference. I am taking 400 mg. I've never taking anything for it until now. I am hoping this actually works for me. My ADHD went astrocat about a year ago.
Have you tried b6 vitamin?
@@noneofyourbuizness I am currently also taking a b complex.
I'm on Exec-B, X50, and ashwagandha while I wait for script. It's gotten quiet enough to hear the future. Lol
Sir please please reply ...i am taking anti depressant ie escitalopram and CLONAZEPAM. Can I try magnesium glycinate with this medicine ???
Can you take magnesium glycinate and inositol together?
Thank you for this. My son is 11 and is really struggling. Not with just adhd symptoms, but recently with depression type symptoms and lots of fear/worry/super deep thinking that makes him emotional. But I'm scared to take him to the psychiatrist and have him start meds. Even though he needs help. I don't think I can afford a naturopath either. So he's just kinda stuck, cuz I'm kinda stuck- worried about what the right thing to do is...
Take lil man to the doctor dude. He'll appreciate it for the rest of his life. Make sure he's getting plenty of sun and exercise too
Call Doctor,My son is 13 years old, he has ADHD I’m just looking for the right dosage for his age could you please tell me what dosage sCan you take, and whatever the dosage can he take it before school in the morning, thank you so much
Can teens take magnesium how much?
How long might it take after supplementing to see some improvement in concentration and behaviour?
Really depends if there is a deficiency in the first place and if their is how deficient you are.
Typically for any supplement it takes three months of consistent usage.
I have Asperger's and c-ptsd and benefit from all the supplements you suggest for adhd, but I was not assessed for it so maybe I have that as well, who knows! Great content! Thank you
Hey buddy :-) Now that is has been a while, how do you assess the efficacy of your supplementation?
you have to know what kind of magnesium you should buy, I bought (magnesium oxide) with b6, I didn't feel what I was expecting
From what I’ve read or heard from nutrition phd’s magnesium oxide is dirt cheap but is also the one to avoid as it’s not absorbed as well and can cause issues. Any other type seems to be good. Just not oxide type
That’s the worse kind get magnesium glysoren or L theorenate
magnesium citrate is very very effective
What type of magnesium suggested for ?
L theorate or magnesium glysorane
Any magnesium will be fine, except magnesium oxide
Hi Dr. LeGrand, I have clicked on your FREE ADHD GUIDE twice and put in email, but have never been able to download that guide. It sends me to a page to sign up for a consultant call with you, which I don't want at this time. The note at the top of that page says that the guide is already in my inbox, but it doesn't show up. Do we have to book a consultant call with you to get the free guide?
Check your spam and promotion tab inbox you should have gotten an email for the guide.
@@doctorlegrand Unfortunately, no, not in Spam or Promotions. I usually get your emails right into my main Primary email box too. I enjoy your work! Thank you.
Take magnesium in the morning? With the multivitamin?
So spread them out
Having heart palpitations and SVT.. Thinking about taking magnesium..??
Might help but there are so many reasons that can be happening
Hi, I had heart palpitations please try a really good electrolight powder b 4 u do anything else.
Should contain...
Mag, zink, Vk2, Vd3, Vb6 Vc potassium, boran. Take small teaspoon in tepid water every morning ur palpitations will dissappear.
Does it really make vyvanse stronger or last longer?
L-tyrosin and magnesium-l-threonat is great with adhs-meds
What would be a recomended amount for adhd for 6sn adult?
Depends how deficient you are. You would need to run those labs
Is it safe to take magnesium and melatonin at the same time
Look up drugs.com for answers. Don't ask the comment section.
@@sailienulatcm7179 thank you
What's the best form of magnesium to take for ADHD?
Glycinate or L-threonate are the best for ADHD.
@@RJ-2skies hey do they have similar effect ? Did you try both?
@Pepita, there is more research on Glycinate, so I chose that one. But I'm going to try L-threonate next. I'll post a review when I know more information.
@@RJ-2skies Hello, I’m interested in whether or not you tried L-threonate and if you found a significant benefit from taking it?
@@DoBetterEachDay Hello. Yes I tried L Threonate. I found my thoughts to be clearer. And I found that I was able to handle stressful situations more calmly. Give it a month or two to see significant results.
We do magnesium and this folate that comes through the blood brain barrier
I plan to adjust my diet after I get better. My daughter has spastic cerebral palsy and has issues with spasms and this seems to help with that too
If this treatment, is a proven treatment for ADHD, why has the Doctors of our communities clicked into this revolutionary treatment for this terrible condition?
"could, could, could..." I moved to Turkey where I am getting more fresh food than I did my whole life state side and my ADHD is still very bad. Been here 7 years. Still hyper, still can't concentrate, still can't learn the language.
You are not alone
Please watch UA-cam vids Dr. Amen, amazin stuff on ADHD
Could you do us a favor? PLEASE breathe normally? Do not edit your video to remove your pauses as if you were a machine talking, it is crazy-making. What is it with this approach you find normal or helpful? You're addressing people with ADHD? I find it triggering. Not informative.
Take time to breathe and be human, don't just pour out a string of words uninterrupted. We start losing track of what you are talking about and can't remember much except the title! Take magnesium. Great.
Thanks for the input I will do better on my edits. I just find people are split. Some people want this style of all pauses cut out and others want pauses. I think it might be because there is the inattention ADHD type and the hyper ADHD type so its hard to please both. But I will try to edit better 😊
Thanks for letting me know I will make sure to allow longer pauses in my edits in my future videos 😁
I actually disagree. Because there are no pauses it’s easier for me to not get distracted. The edits might be jarring for some but it almost feels like it makes me pay more attention
I was doing well to concentrate until I saw this comment. Now I can't stop thinking about it.
Try to understand why he talks a bit fast it's part of our ADHD be kind hes helping a lot of people 😊
