Many times, I found myself at the crossroads with other family members, who strongly claim a strict Ketogenic diet and ketosis are the best options to starve cancer cells. I enjoy tomatoes raw. Or cutting into quarters, drizzle olive oil & salt, into the air fryer to roast. Sautéed mushrooms in olive oil & garlic. Fresh green beans steamed & sautéed with olive oil and lots of garlic. Broccoli, & Sautéed in olive oil & garlic. I like black beans, best to soak overnight. Serve with orange slices and sautéed collard greens in olive oil & garlic. Place one leaves on top of each other, roll the collard greens like a cigar & cut very thin, than sautéed, but don’t over cook. No more then five minutes on medium heat. Cook Lentils, in chicken or vegetable broth & water. Add a little diced carrots, bay leaf, onions, garlic.

Tomatoes, potato, eggplant may aggravate joint inflammation pain. Doctors are not taught how to cook in medical school. They usually do not know or recommend traditional culinary herbs and spices that are added to cooking to reduce inflammatory damage. Many traditional recipes that cooks, not doctors, know contain these cooling herbs and spices such as cumin, coriander, fennel, turmeric, mint, dill, tarragon, oregano and others. Ask your Gramma how she cooks her spaghetti sauce. And serve inflammatory or gout producing foods with greens to help balance the effects.
This is true for some people, but not everyone. Certain kinds of arthritis are made worse by the lectins in tomatoes, but some of us don't have any problem with it.
You have all been lied too. Vegetables, fruit, grains and seed oils will lead to disease. Eggs, fatty beef, heart, kidney, lamb, sardines, mackerel and butter will improve your health substantially.

I probably use two teaspoons of mushroom powder a day and I also eat baby Bella mushroom soup and use them in my cooking should I decrease mushrooms? Why don't you recommend the medicinal mushrooms?

Lectins and soluble oxalates and pesticides are important considerations for veggies. Seed oil must be avoided. Organic food is required but even that is insufficient. Fermented foods and probiotics and prebiotic fiber are also needed.
Question about tomatoes. Is it true that they have lectins that are bad for arthritis? Another doctor has said the skin and seeds are to be avoided along with other nightshade vegetables. 😮
There’s some debate about tomatoes and other nightshades (like peppers, eggplants, and potatoes) in relation to arthritis due to their lectin content. Lectins are proteins that can cause inflammation in sensitive individuals. However, research is mixed. While some people with arthritis find relief by avoiding these foods, others have no issues. If you notice symptoms after eating tomatoes, consider removing the skins and seeds or eliminating them from your diet to see if it helps. Always consult your doctor before making significant dietary changes.
@@sandy239b6 “…consult your doctor…” - sensible self-protection in this context (of providing YT advice). [My prescription to self: only consider medical intervention in case of physical trauma.]
For managing CLL, focus on a diet rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory foods. Include leafy greens, berries, turmeric, garlic, and omega-3-rich foods like salmon or walnuts. Avoid processed foods and added sugars. Regular exercise, such as walking or yoga, can help boost immunity and reduce fatigue. Consult with your doctor before making major dietary or exercise changes.
Tomatoes contain lectins, which some believe may aggravate arthritis. However, they are also rich in anti-inflammatory compounds like lycopene. Cooking reduces lectin content, potentially allowing you to enjoy their benefits safely. If tomatoes worsen your symptoms, consider limiting them, but if tolerated, their nutritional value might outweigh the concerns. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.

Avoiding mushrooms after cancer isn't supported by science. In fact, mushrooms like shiitake and reishi have potential anti-cancer properties due to compounds like beta-glucans that support the immune system. They may even slow tumor growth and enhance treatments. However, consult with a healthcare provider to ensure they're safe for your specific condition and treatment plan.
What about lectins in beans - a nightshade vegetable? According to Dr. Gundry, it should be avoided. Different doctors have different prescriptions for medicines or vegetables. Consumers are confused by these divergent opinions. The best bet is to try and see what is good for YOUR body.
If mushrooms and beans cause inflammation, replace mushrooms with zucchini, eggplant, or tofu, and beans with lentils, quinoa, or sweet potatoes. These alternatives provide similar nutrients and are generally easier to digest. Opt for low-FODMAP foods, cooked vegetables, and smaller, frequent meals to reduce digestive stress and inflammation. Consult a dietitian for personalized guidance.
First - cut out sugars/ high fructose corn syrup,/processed foods which Feed cancer. Second: eat foods which have properties to cause apoptosis in cancer cells, cruciferous veggies. At LEAST 10 different veggies per day!!! Plus everything he says!!!!
For someone with Type 1 diabetes and thyroid issues, focus on a balanced diet rich in non-starchy vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains. Monitor blood sugar and thyroid levels regularly, and consult healthcare professionals for personalized guidance.

So if I have no cancer and no diseases then I must be eating the right things, Yes.
Yes we all get old and sick some day 😮
@@Midwest..not true. Many people never get very ill. They age, they slow down, and one day they die. Not everyone experiences sickness.
I haven't been sick once in over 40 years. I don't know why. Not even a cold or flu despite working outside in all kinds of weather and having contact with people from all over the world (who could be carrying all the world's germs).
I don't eat meat or takeout food. But I do wonder. I'm 71 now.
@@katella I do eat some meat as we need protein, but not too much as we are carnivores from inception. As long as you exercise plenty then no reason why you won't reach 100.
How about yellow beans- I seem to like them better than the green ones....?
Thank you! Yes! Truly healthy and delicious!🎉❤
I’m allergy to tomatoes in any form. I’m into anything green leafy. No to rubber coated cookware.
Eat lots of green beans but also yellow and purple.
Can you tell what food are good for someone who has Mc. Ardle, or what food to avoid.? Thanks
Be Optimal.
Thank you Dr William Li for the informations 🍒
You are very welcome
This will be also great if all of our food hasn’t been genetically modified for decades and stripped of cancer fighting properties. Need an example? Grape seeds are cancer fighters. What did we do? Genetically modified grapes, so there seedless
There are some that have seeds
Lectins and soluble oxalates and pesticides are important considerations for veggies. Seed oil must be avoided. Organic food is required but even that is insufficient. Fermented foods and probiotics and prebiotic fiber are also needed.
Tomatoes and other night shades are for me and many other people very inflamatoric.
So you have to be attentively..
@@Be.OptimalLike doctors want us healthy?!
@@Be.OptimalI removed the seeds and the inflammations on my toes are gone.

I am diagonised with CLL, lymphocytes is 30 K, no treatmemt started .what food diet and exercise should i eat to slow down the progress of the disease
Consult with your doctor before making major dietary or exercise changes.
omg, this video has me wanting to make some veggie soup
Thank you bless
You are so welcome!
Another great dr. Li vid!!
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the informations ❤️
Thank you ❤️ Dr ❤
I have arthritis and have been told to avoid tomatoes. I love them, but aren't the lectins in them a danger?
Tomatoes contain lectins, which some believe may aggravate arthritis. However, they are also rich in anti-inflammatory compounds like lycopene. Cooking reduces lectin content, potentially allowing you to enjoy their benefits safely. If tomatoes worsen your symptoms, consider limiting them, but if tolerated, their nutritional value might outweigh the concerns. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
But now a days fruits and vegetables are grown using pesticides and chemicals that is major problem
Arthritis is caused by inflammation. Vegetables and some fruits cause inflammation. Change to a KETO diet or better, a CARNIVORE diet,
Thank you👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! I have heard that if you have had cancer then you should avoid mushrooms altogether. Should it be reconsidered?
Avoiding mushrooms after cancer isn't supported by science. In fact, mushrooms like shiitake and reishi have potential anti-cancer properties due to compounds like beta-glucans that support the immune system. They may even slow tumor growth and enhance treatments. However, consult with a healthcare provider to ensure they're safe for your specific condition and treatment plan.
Thank you 😘
What about lectins in beans - a nightshade vegetable? According to Dr. Gundry, it should be avoided. Different doctors have different prescriptions for medicines or vegetables. Consumers are confused by these divergent opinions. The best bet is to try and see what is good for YOUR body.
You are right
FATTY MEAT SUCH AS BEEF, LAMB, MUTTON and MACKEREL are PROPER FOODS
Gundry is a quack. Dr li is a practicing scientist and doctor. Gundry cherry pick and pushes products.
No science back Gundry.
What if your stomach reacts inflammation to certain foods that was shared here like mushrooms, beans, what can I do? Replacement ? Thank you 🙏
If mushrooms and beans cause inflammation, replace mushrooms with zucchini, eggplant, or tofu, and beans with lentils, quinoa, or sweet potatoes. These alternatives provide similar nutrients and are generally easier to digest. Opt for low-FODMAP foods, cooked vegetables, and smaller, frequent meals to reduce digestive stress and inflammation. Consult a dietitian for personalized guidance.
I’m so allergic to tomatoes,so what make tomatoes so allergic?
What about celery, spinach and asparagus???
People all over the world are having atleast one of these regularly. Yet there are cancer patients...
First - cut out sugars/ high fructose corn syrup,/processed foods which Feed cancer.
Second: eat foods which have properties to cause apoptosis in cancer cells, cruciferous veggies. At LEAST 10 different veggies per day!!!
Plus everything he says!!!!
Thoughts on lectins in tomato and beans?
How much per meal to make a difference is what I'm always wondering...
Lectins need to be considered - tomatoes and green beans.
On a garlic-roasted veggie kick. Any kind.
What about someone who is suffering from Diabetes 1 and thyroid what foods do you recommend for them.
For someone with Type 1 diabetes and thyroid issues, focus on a balanced diet rich in non-starchy vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains. Include iodine, selenium, zinc, and vitamin D for thyroid support. Limit refined sugars, processed foods, and excess soy. Monitor blood sugar and thyroid levels regularly, and consult healthcare professionals for personalized guidance.

What about cinnamon??
Doesn't tomatoes contain lectins, and a large portion of them are found in the seeds and skin?
Life is better when you sneeze I think
With all the poisons spread throughout our environment exposure is guaranteed unless you give up eating, drinking, and breathing. I am less concerned about the natural ingredients in my food and more concerned about the man-made ones which are largely carcinogenic and inescapable.
Rick Simpson Oil...
The heat is Already there in the canning process.
The problem is there are “experts”, many are DRs etc…on youtube saying completely conflicting things. One video I saw the other day said you must avoid tomatoes as they are terrible for gut health.
How knows what to beleive
I stopped eating cooked tomatoes as they increase inflammation for me. I can eat them raw with no problems.
First posts of Dr Li's I've seen and wait a sec --another leading doctor says tomatoes cause inflammation in our gut with the lectin in the skin. Love "vegetables are tools."
Not if you cook the tomatoes 🍅
Can you steam the greens?
