Key I think was no refined junk foods.

Disappointed with turmeric. Yes, yellow color, but no flavor of its own AND ERASES flavor of whatever food it goes with. Maybe that will help cut calories if food has no flavor. (((
If you steam brocolli just to the point where there is just a touch of crunch left that is perfect. Steaming is THE way to cook veg. Same deal with carrots do NOT cook them to mush. Onions it' OK to reduce them to fully soft. Also beets, sweet potatoes etc.
