As someone that's been training these techniques and fought in armoured tournaments since '96, you did very well! It's not easy to pick up a weapon and learn the finess and dexterity it requires to if not be effective with it, at least look like you are!

How fun!! I have dozens of swords and other weaponry (axes, daggers, war hammers, halberds, etc) and different armor that I wear to Renaissance Faires. So much fun! Keep up the great content, it is truly inspiring!

I used to do fencing, so I have some experience with swordplay. I really would love to work with some big, heavy swords like these, though. That looked like so much fun.

Hey Beth I've been with your channel for about 3 years. I started with your channel because I started watching focal instructors review and react to singers. One of the reasons is because I can't hold a tune in the basket. And throughout my life one of the things I wish I could do was sing. I've taken a lot of techniques and training recommendations from all of these channels. I've gotten better but I still suck. Anyway, I spent a lot of time on your channel because a lot of things that you do is basic instruction which has helped a lot. Again, I still suck. On to my point. I really enjoyed you just going out and exploring Life. Climbing mountains playing bocce ball. I can list them all but I won't. And now you're wielding swords. You're amazing. Keep posting life. You're an amazing woman. ❤️💚☘️🇺🇦

Phenomenal... if swordplay interests you on an ongoing basis, training in a boxing gym (or in fencing, obviously) will make the footwork more second nature. Always here for you trying new things! Cheers!

Stage combat is definitely fun! If you want a little more danger/realism, look up Paul MacDonald swords on UA-cam. He's an amazing sword maker and Master at Arms of a historical fencing school just outside Edinburgh.

I took a fencing class. This is VERY different!
So cool, great to see you enjoyed a little 'hand craft'.
BITD, I took a year of fencing from our instructor at Portland State U.
It turned out to be a good choice.... his name was Yves Auriol, and he next went on to be the Fencing Coach at Notre Dame, and the 4-time US Olympic Coach.
His 'student aides' at PSU later competed internationally, winning various awards. (Two brothers with the last name of 'Marx')
Needless to say, I was just Saber-Fodder for those folks.

So that’s Olympic fencing and broadsword fighting you’ve learned, the next form of sword fighting you could try out, the classic Samurai style.
Big difference between sword choreography and actual HEMA techniques. This is basically learning how to dance with swords vs learning how to fight with them. But it looked fun none-the-less. Hope you had a good time!
Your musical intuitions are natural. Perhaps, you should apply that to the task at hand? Think of those moves with the sword as "notes"... They come from within.. then they are projected! Energy stored... Energy thrusted! How you sing a single note! Smooth and with conviction!... Confidence!.... You are beautiful!
