I upgraded my first or second C class fighter ship, all the way to S-class, and its cargo slots are incredibly high.... and it was insanely powerful, by constantly farming upgrades and swapping out whenever I got something better... but when I recently loaded into the game, my ship couldn't fire, and all its stats were messed. Not going to even bother figuring out what they messed up with the updates, kinda killed my will to get back into the game and/or bother looking at what what I need to do to fix it now. All that time grinding and tinkering with my upgrades, just to have my ship run like crap when I load into the game. Tons of hours of grinding completely nullified by updates, that SPECIFICALLY render hours of grinding as useless, to instead cater to ship hunting, and just getting top tier stuff instantly. What a weird game design philosophy. Punish grinding, but reward people who just go online to get ships instantly, in an almost cheating kind of way. And still no way to do minor ship upgrades to the visuals, like colour palette.
yea it’s insane that it’s been 7 years and there isn’t any way to visually customize your ship.. at all. The only thing it does is get people to go online and look up where ships are that they like because that’s what “ship hunting” really means. It actively and objectively makes the game worse
@@a.g.m8790 I can see your point but I like ship hunting. I’ve never glyph searched because it seems unfun and not in the spirit of the game to have 10,000,000 people all with the same starship.
@@nickthompson1812 Well, my point was - the developers seemed to have rewarded those players, while punishing and crippling the players who used old-school grinding to build out a powerful ship. Ship hunting is initially for the style and colour you want, but I fully upgraded my starter ship to some insane degree, filling up the inventory slots and min-maxing all the upgrade modules, then had it completely nullified in a single update. I changed my review to negative on steam and haven't touched the game since, I think I put in a few more hours trying to force myself back in and trying to get my ship back to normal again, but its not possible. They limited the modules you can have, and crippled the ship grind permanently. They really did kill the game for me. Both of my buddies who play the game with me, also stopped playing. The sloppy inventory screen, with scrolling to view everything was also a downgrade. I wish Hello Games licensed out the engine, or opened it up for free, so other people could take the base game / foundation, and fill it with a more RPG driven space trucker game. Or mod it. Starfield's story and grinding, with No Man's Sky game engine would be awesome.
The echoes update seems to have broken a few things when it come to a few things (mainly crashed and interceptor ship location) which thankfully the devs are working on fixing
I installed a mod that removed the mini quest from sentinel ships, went to a dissonant 3 star economy and used a harmonic camp to scan for new ships and spent 3 real life days of searching a single planet that had a model I liked for an S-class. I found 26 A-class ships and not once did I find an S. I gave up on that for now and I'm using the trade outpost method to try and find exotics instead. I did make around 800 million units from the interceptors which is pretty neat.
Dont forget to keep an eye out on twitch for no mans sky bonuses. I afk watch there alot and i have lots of cosmetics, guns, ships and companions i can redeem on the anomaly. On my latest save i redeemed them all and sold the ships. Got like 200mil units and like 21 upgrade slots.
You should only install the best warp drive you have. So if you have the indium drive, do not install the other 2 because it lets you go to every type of system.
Someone's probably already told you but an Indium Drive allows travel to Cadmium and Emiril systems but you should probably update with video with an info card or something. thanks for the Vid tho, i learned a few things
You forgot to mention that Sentinel ships or interceptor ships as you called them, are only found in Dissonant Systems on planets where Dissonance is detected. It requires some unique resources found on these planets to get but are completely free and when scrapped, can make you a lot of money. I sold a C class for 30 Million.
I wish they would add a ship trader to the space stations where you can buy and sell ships straight away instead of having to wait around for one you like to show up. Better still I wish they had a separate shipyard where you could buy or sell ships, customise your own ones or even build your own from either parts available from that particular shipyard or parts you've scrapped from your own ships. I have still to find my perfect ship and only have about another 100 million systems in the starting galaxy to find it in order to get it!
New player, is there a purpose to the hauler since your freighter just carries more? Is there a purpose to explorers since the freighter travels further?
I have a Sentinel ship with a lot of slots that acts like a hauler. Having a lot of inventory slots can be useful when doing sale runs in different systems (I use via teleport) or when doing a big salvage/mining run to take back to your freightor. Same thing with Explorers, you can scout out systems in advance. Of course, this is assuming you may not have all your upgrades for your frieghter yet.
They don't particularly have one other than lower launch costs and sentinel technology which gives them a better damage per second value compared to most other ships 😊
Oh right. I thought "Living ship" was going to be like your penthouse for the stars. Just cruise around looking out the windows kinda thing. Not a ship made of actual living stuff. :D
I got an exotic ship but it looks so DUMB its bright orange and all its fins are stubby except for its top one. Despite the derpieness i still love it tho
Awesome! Great info. How do i get the game to stop crashing on load? Ive got an rtx 4070 so idk wtf is going on and none of the steam suggestions work.
Never crashes for me on PC. Rarely if ever crashes on Switch (got lucky I guess) . PS4 however crashes whenever there's a lot going on in multiplayer or sometimes during animation of pulse or getting in the ship.
My guess is that with Starfield out this month, they'll be adding ship customization/ship building at some point relatively soon, maybe in a few updates time. There's really only 2 things that Starfield does better, and that's shipbuilding and from what I've seen, better combat. HG can't really overhaul combat in NMS without drastically changing the game, but ship building would be a realistic feature to add in the near future, and one that could be implemented in several ways. I'm not a BGS fanboy or anything, and I'm not saying Starfield sucks or NMS sucks without this feature, just pointing out that if NMS wanted to remove one of the only things Starfield has that they don't (that they can actually implement in NMS) then shipbuilding is a logical step. 🙂 What I mean by "several ways to implement" is that they could have ship parts be mission/expedition rewards, research-locked, or randomly found or deciphered/reverse-engineered like the glyphs and words. Or some combo of all three. Maximize player choice.
Which part of the video are you on about? I do have some ships with different trails that can be picked up on the anomaly with quicksilver if that's what you mean?
Not really. The stats should be the same. The only thing would be that you might have more slots in a “natural” S-class ship, but you can upgrade the slots anyway. 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah if you want to maximize fighting you want shields and weapon slots. If you want to just explore then most of your slots could be hyperdrive upgrades. And if you want to trade or smuggle then sensors are a great investment. But I would argue that a balanced build is best for your first play through or beginning the game, because you are going to run into combat and then you also want to be able to explore and you want a decent hyperdrive. But personally I love the solar sails or launch thruster recharge kit. Any focused build will be stronger than a balanced approach, but it will have drawbacks as well.
@@ghost-user559 Not sure exactly so a balanced build sounds best. I currently have one of the uniques and still figuring out some of the stuff and unlocking new stuff all the time.
@@snack_happy656 Yeah you probably have more than me lol. I like to go slowly and role play and build bases and explore, so I haven’t gone that far into different quests, just far enough to unlock everything basically. I have all the upgrades unlocked from the Anomaly and the Construction research, and a bunch of S tier upgrades, and a Fleet of Freighters, but I’m still not that far along the main quest. I like to explore and grind some days, and others I go fight pirates and sentinels. So balanced builds are my preferred setup. But remember you can have a different ship for each task. You can get a ship just for combat missions and another to explore inside a system, and another for long distance hyperdrive jumps if you wanted to.
I still have the first one. I like NMS but i can be the classic case of as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. Ive never died once and Im not playing it on easy. My starter ship and a couple of similar in my squadron and no NPC can beat me.
I just made an overkill sized base just for hydroponics trays with the intention of it being for everyone to use. Problem is that I'm now at around 3800 parts and can't upload it. I put save beacon in it and a communication station outside. Are other players going to be able to see and use the base without it being uploaded? If so, I'll state the location. If not, I may try to shrink it just enough to upload.
Get the economy scanner upgrade from The Anomaly and install it on your current ship, outlaw systems will have a small skull on them instead of the normal 1-3 star rating regular systems have, as far as finding the ship you want, all systems have their own ships so anywhere you go in that system you'll be able to see all the ships they have on offer provided you wait around long enough. Best way to see all of a systems ships quickly is to once again use the economy scanner to locate a trading post on a planets surface and go land near it, ships will come and go from the trading post much quicker than they do on a space station, which means you'll be able to see what that system has to offer for ships much quicker, apart from maybe the exotic because they're so rare, but it will show up eventually.
They arent really listed anywhere in game as far as I know, it's just sorta common knowledge at this point. But if you look at the stats of a fighter vs the stats of an explorer you'll see the difference. Just remember fighters are good at fighting, explorers are good at exploring and haulers are good at.. well.. hauling. Ultimately the type of ship really doesnt matter as long as you like the look of it and are willing to invest time and money into it because you can modify them to be good at whatever you want them to be good at, the bonuses are really just a starting point.
@@BunkzGaming I kinda prefer the interceptor; the reason I ask is because while the wiki indicates the Exotic is best, several numbers on the wiki don’t add up (I.e., the interceptor has a _huge_ jump range that’s not reflected on the wiki).
@@Hypercube2017 that's it, you can also upgrade all ships to have great jump range, some more than others. I like my squid ship which is fully upgraded over all but interceptors are a solid choice as well
How do you tell which type is which? I thought i found a hauler the other day but i think it had the same amount of cargo space as my first ship maybe it was an explorer?
Just look at the ship with your scanner (F key on pc) it will show you the ship type, class, value and how many tech and cargo slots it has. Not sure why no one mentioned this lol.
Great video. But a bit of feedback. The BBC reporter style inflections need to go. Have a listen yourself. It becomes very distracting hearing you modulate your tone like that. Bet you don't talk like that at the pub. 😊
First, not recommending a ship based on looks is a useless tip. Looks are opinion. Second, you have a lot of bad info here. The game hasn't changed that much since this video was made, so maybe don't trust the wiki so much?
You don't need The Cadmium or Emeril Drives if you have the Indium Drive. Indium Drives allow you to go to any system, help open up more technology slots
If you have tech space getting the other 2 drives can still be somewhat useful for adjacency bonuses
you can get a higher hyperdrive range with every mod added
S-tier tip, thank you
is that a glitch?

my solar ship has 1313 hyperdrive range. theyre great!! 14,715dps on the photon cannon!! 1378 maneuverability. 311 shield, which yeah is a little low.. but i carry recharging stuff. and the ships i fight, drop pretty quick lol
Old. But sounds like it was the update that restricted the upgrades to 3 per technology. So you don't have 15 upgrades to photon cannon
The echoes update seems to have broken a few things when it come to a few things (mainly crashed and interceptor ship location) which thankfully the devs are working on fixing
I just started 3 days ago with 20+ hours lol is this in regards to a crash shipped sort of duping and respawning where you claimed it originally
Ah okay i was worried they fixed it lol
best video on youtube for this topic right now, thank you!!
Awesome thanks! Glad you found it useful 😁
This was a great video! Enjoyed it a lot. As a car guy, I do the same with the ships as cars. lol
My explorer that i got on my survival save in the same system that i started in can now hit around 2800+ jump distance. 👍
Great, clear well explained video. Should be very useful to new players. Top job.
You make very valid points. Probably why I go around in a squid ship 😂
I don't know if you have done a video on this yet or not but maybe do a video on the use of exocrafts just a suggestion
Ah not a bad idea, thanks for the suggestion I'll make a note of it 😊
An easier way to get solar ships is by going to the outlaw space station and trading a solar ship with your current ship
You csn a actually install the thruster charger on a sentinal ship and it will recharge the anit gravity well
I just got a S class shit today!
This was very helpful thank you
On my second day playing, I ran across one of the exotic squid ships in a space station... Of course, I was nowhere near able to afford it. Damn.
Explorers look worse than Shuttles tbh
I may have missed it. What is the class bonus of the sentinel interceptor?
They don't particularly have one other than lower launch costs and sentinel technology which gives them a better damage per second value compared to most other ships 😊
I dont think thats true the sentinels I have found have massive hyperdrive (no modules and are up to 700 Light years stats)
Oh right. I thought "Living ship" was going to be like your penthouse for the stars. Just cruise around looking out the windows kinda thing. Not a ship made of actual living stuff. :D
Great video, thanks for sharing :)
I got an exotic ship but it looks so DUMB its bright orange and all its fins are stubby except for its top one. Despite the derpieness i still love it tho
Is this still solid info as of today ? I've only just brought the game and I'm looking at getting my first ship .
For the most part it is yeah. It's just missing the new ship building / customisation feature
Just got my first sentinel ship
Just got mine a c class completely outstrips an a class shuttle. Then 2 hours later on the same planet I got a b class now I'm hunting for an s
Awesome! Great info. How do i get the game to stop crashing on load? Ive got an rtx 4070 so idk wtf is going on and none of the steam suggestions work.
Thanks! Wouldn't know how to fix it on PC, surprised it does crash on PC actually, it's usually PS4 that has the problems
All my ships are exotic ones took awhile but not that hard 10 i got i think max allowed anyways
Thanks....🎉 Good Fortunes To You 🤓✌👍
I can't wait to buy this game on switch. (first timer) 😳
You'll love it!
get it on PC instead ,much more content on PC.steam had it at for 20.00
@@777dragonborn what if you dont have a pc 🤯
Just did cause its on sale. 2 days, 10+ hrs..I’m hooked
I got it on xbox, its free if you have the gamepass
1:19 ooo you got a nice Interceptor
I wish this game didn't crash so much, it's unplayable for me and a lot of others now.
Seems to be mostly people playing on older consoles having issues.
Which platform are you playing on? I'm on the PS5 and it's pretty stable, not really had any issues
I'm on PC and it never crashes
Never crashes for me on PC. Rarely if ever crashes on Switch (got lucky I guess) . PS4 however crashes whenever there's a lot going on in multiplayer or sometimes during animation of pulse or getting in the ship.
Ps4 slim gold edition here i get crashes daily. Sometimes i can go hours playing. Sometimes 10 minutes.
What's the ship he's flying at 2:05 ? And how do I get it please?
It's one of the sentinel ships, think it's part of this video I've done before 🙂 ua-cam.com/video/rna2YMWGM1o/v-deo.htmlsi=9mfQTrWf8HAwvtT3
Are the Interceptors Unique in that they can stop while flying? Or can other ships do that?
For the exotict what if you cant get to redit?
There are a couple of exotic coordinates in this video if you want those ua-cam.com/video/rna2YMWGM1o/v-deo.html 😊
What are the coordinates for that interceptor 10:01
So they fixed the thing with the hyperdrives where if you had the blue one it let you cisit all systems? Damn less slots now in technology:(
My guess is that with Starfield out this month, they'll be adding ship customization/ship building at some point relatively soon, maybe in a few updates time.
What I mean by "several ways to implement" is that they could have ship parts be mission/expedition rewards, research-locked, or randomly found or deciphered/reverse-engineered like the glyphs and words. Or some combo of all three. Maximize player choice.
Maybe its my eyes but those look like nms launch colors. If thats the case, how did you do that? A setting? Or a mod?
Which part of the video are you on about? I do have some ships with different trails that can be picked up on the anomaly with quicksilver if that's what you mean?
What wiki are you using for that data
5:45 how did you get the ship for free?
It's the ship scrapping method. I think it still works this video is old but take a look 😊 ua-cam.com/video/IOL74mSlCf0/v-deo.htmlsi=pzuAX-6fVH_9coEH
I’ve read that a natural S - Class ship will be better than an upgraded lower class ship not sure how or why, but that’s what I have read.
Not really. The stats should be the same. The only thing would be that you might have more slots in a “natural” S-class ship, but you can upgrade the slots anyway. 🤷🏻♂️
I want a flying saucer never mind a salvage ship whers my ufo .what about light ships 😂we need more types
Never even thought about those 😂
Hold up. Are you saying that every single system has one exotic ship in it? Even the starting system, whichever that maybe?
Thank you for not starting your video with 'whats up youtube' or a variant.
What would an ideal ship setup look like with upgrade slots?
Totally depends on what you do in the game at whatever stage you are at.
Yeah as ghost user mentions, it'll defer based on your play style
How do you find crashed ships?
Check out one of my earlier videos 😁 ua-cam.com/video/HyAu_dVsu2I/v-deo.htmlsi=kcCAdXgRCmQrNbe2
@@BunkzGaming nice!! Thank you Bunkz Will watch it now! Love the content by the way!
@@AstriaTVTruthExposed awesome! And thanks, glad you find it useful 😁
Is outlaw and lawless the same thing???
I still have the first one. I like NMS but i can be the classic case of as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. Ive never died once and Im not playing it on easy. My starter ship and a couple of similar in my squadron and no NPC can beat me.
wait till the whole ass police and sentinel fleet with the frigates start chasing you around 😭
I don't think anyone would be able to see it without you uploading it so yeah, might need to be shrunk a little bit
@BunkzGaming thanks, gonna work on that.
What ship is that ? 3:53
It's a long nosed fighter of some description, sadly I can't remember it's location as I've had it for a few years now
How many ships can you have? (I'm new to the game lol)
Think it could be 12 now? They keep updating it 😂
If i switch ships will all my upgrades carry over?
Not ship upgrades, you'll have to add them again
how to know where it is or how to find outlaw system?
Where can you see the ship bonuses?
They arent really listed anywhere in game as far as I know, it's just sorta common knowledge at this point. But if you look at the stats of a fighter vs the stats of an explorer you'll see the difference. Just remember fighters are good at fighting, explorers are good at exploring and haulers are good at.. well.. hauling. Ultimately the type of ship really doesnt matter as long as you like the look of it and are willing to invest time and money into it because you can modify them to be good at whatever you want them to be good at, the bonuses are really just a starting point.
@@jackmeriustacktheritrix So all explorer ships are the same, assuming no modules and the same tier?
So which is best; Interceptor, Exotic, Bio, or Solar?
It's all down to personal preference really which you prefer/think is best
@@BunkzGaming I kinda prefer the interceptor; the reason I ask is because while the wiki indicates the Exotic is best, several numbers on the wiki don’t add up (I.e., the interceptor has a _huge_ jump range that’s not reflected on the wiki).
@@Hypercube2017 that's it, you can also upgrade all ships to have great jump range, some more than others. I like my squid ship which is fully upgraded over all but interceptors are a solid choice as well
@@BunkzGaming aren’t those the most rare in the game? How long did it take to get it?
@@Hypercube2017 very rare. But if you use Reddit like I do you can get coordinates to a crashed one pretty quickly 😊
Fr today I got myself I good ass S class ship in outlaw system and I also got myself a small fleet and big ass ship lmao
How do you tell which type is which? I thought i found a hauler the other day but i think it had the same amount of cargo space as my first ship maybe it was an explorer?
Look at the cabin! Haulers have a boxy cabin, much like the shuttle!
@@Silvahhhhhhhhhh do they all have the same cockpits? I know the intercepter is a bit different what about thw others?
@@montgomeryfortenberry Some ships have minor changes to the inside of the cockpit, but outside, all cockpits are pretty much the same

@@jackmeriustacktheritrix i finally figured that out hahah

That would be the expedition I would assume? Starts all of us with one
Are the Exotic Ships, marked as Exotic Ships?
10:09 what did he said?
Great video. But a bit of feedback. The BBC reporter style inflections need to go. Have a listen yourself. It becomes very distracting hearing you modulate your tone like that. Bet you don't talk like that at the pub. 😊
Im currently taking a ship
First, not recommending a ship based on looks is a useless tip. Looks are opinion.
Second, you have a lot of bad info here. The game hasn't changed that much since this video was made, so maybe don't trust the wiki so much?
so u cant fly big ships like in eve
Ships have ridiculous physics space combat is weird once this is fixed the game is still in beta.
good job on everything
but talk more natural, you have a good voice...
I don't know if you've noticed dude, but you start every sentence with "So".
you can max slot any ship haulers are useless
You can but it costs hundreds of millions to do it, hence haulers give you a head start
