- After we broke the stock bottom end quarter-mile world record, our tired 1.5T finally gave out. No small feat considering the number of dyno runs, drag passes, and copious amounts of nitrous it went through. Of course, having an engine department of our own, we knew this was the perfect time to develop an engine program for the L15. After many months of R&D, the test passes, and a global pandemic we have officially revealed our Stage 1 MAP SPEC L15 engine!
Good to a reliable 400-450whp, our MAP SPEC engines are built to be in stock and ready to ship when you need them. So if you're looking for a replacement engine or making double the stock power we have the engine for you!
Starting with a new OEM Honda block and crankshaft, our engine team gets to work blueprinting the crank and honing the cylinders to our specifications. After honing, the block is resurfaced and hand clearanced for the internal components. Once machining is complete Aric and Alec begin the assembly process using Saenz rods with machining for perfect rod bolt fitment and JE Pistons. At this point a new OEM Honda oil pan, oil pump, and rear main seal are installed to make the engine truly drop in ready. Don't forget to pickup a new head gasket, MAP head stud kit and MAP timing tensioner/cam holder cover to complete the package!

Are you ready for more power in your Civic - Look no further! Maybe you've got some crazy swap in mind? L15 swapped _______ ?
bit.ly/3oOX0sS
Do you guys know if this block will directly bolt on to the new 11th generation Civic Si L15C vtec head?
L15 swapped fiero
Perfect timing just finished the newest 1.5 Civic video 😅
We thought the same! More 1.5T content on the horizon!
This is a great option for reliable power and the stock fuel systems limits, a good sleeper daily
We think so too!
Whats the thickness of a L15 rod vs a d16 if you know. Im just wondering.
Does upgrading the Rods(Saenz) and Pistons(JE) + Headstuds(ARP) gives me the similar upgrade to changing the whole shortblock?
There’s a guy using these for airplane conversions, I’d love if he built a motor with this short block. 200kts+ in the right airframe. That’s about 230mph for you car normies.
Please, do you know where to find the L15B7 engine dimensions and block weights? TIA
Wondering if this is what i need for my 2008 honda fit in future build
That would be an awesome build! Fits are underrated!
I nneeeeeddddd ittt
Besides making more power, Is it more reliable than factory ? 🤯
Do you guys build L15's in higher liters? Like a 1.7L-1.9L? And if so do they perform better than the 1.5L
Will they have the billet oil gear you guys sell as well
Good question
Unfortunately they will not at the benefit of keeping costs for the customer down!
How do you fix the gasoline getting into the oil on the 1.5t ? Is it a part you sell?
I think the cause of this issue is short trips with cold oil. You can go to the Honda dealership and they can update the code to get the car to warm ip faster
Guys, have a nice day! I really need a torque specification for the L15B7 engine. I would appreciate any information on this matter.
Are you looking for the power specs? If so, 162 lb-ft (219 Nm) @ 1700-5500 RPM!
@@maperformance No. Apparently I didn’t put it that way))). I’m looking for tightening torques for bolted connections on the L15B7 engine. I will be glad to any working document! Thanks for the answer!
Why not offer a closed deck version of this or even a deck cap itself for these blocks? The cylinder walls would be able to reliably push well over 400whp.
Eh the sleeves are pretty substantial for what they are. I don’t think I’ve seen one failure related to sleeves, and css warrants blocks up to 600whp on these. I know of
One l15 that has made over 600whp lol
Do yall offer stronger head gaskets rather than the oem gaskets for the 10th gen si?
Honda oem gaskets are phenomenal. No need to fix what isn’t broken
It's the head bolts that are substandard, the gasket itself is top notch.
ARP head studs should do the trick, head gasket big sex in l15, the bolts don’t sex so much
Are you guys working on a block for the 11th gen? Just curious
I don't believe so, there isn't much demand for them quite yet.
So what do you guys think the block that’s within the 10th gen civic can handle from the factory?
We made multiple runs at 550hp with little issue, then it blew up when we put a whole bunch of nitrous through it... 😅
@@maperformance thx ! Honestly I woke atab Honda dealership and this is a sweet deal
So uh, can I pay you guys to do the swap and tune my car or something? Interested in the product, not necessarily interested in learning how to do an engine swap on the daily
Swap would have to be done by you or a local shop!
can i push this block to 500hp and 400 torq
just blow my 10 th gen si engine recently last
week after puting big turbo gt 2860r gen 2
on my si ill be puting fuel support or does this thing has warranty ?
I’m interested in the whole story and what happened? Fellow car guy here that also blew his L15B7 😅
@@kg_1720 normal for these engine to blow if abused it too much i am running e50 with walboro and fuel line updgraded. running on garret turbo gt 2860r gen 2 clutch fx400 i think this is the reason why i blow my engine
Are u working on a block for the 11th gen?
No, this is the 10th gen motor!
You can put this on a 22 civic si ?
Asking the real question
Would these work on the 2022 civic si or y’all’s short block.
2022 Si block has wider rod bearings than the 10th Gen si block. I’m not sure if the L15CA head will bolt up to the L15B7 block.
@@UnrelatedNonsense ah okay, thank you for informing me. So far all I’ve seen is skunk2 camshafts and valve springs on performance site that said it’ll fit my 2022 si but also says it’d work on L15B7 as well.
@@ZeldaTheMk6 The skunk 2 cams will not work on the 22 because the L15CA has VTEC on the exhaust cam and the L15B7 does not.
My question is this. With a fully built motor and trans lets say…….. can you hit the 500+ mark with just fuel and forced induction ? Or do u NEED. E85, meth, and or nitrous ???????
I'm sure it's possible but probably not recommended. Ethanol, meth, and nitrous all help the motor run colder which has many benefits of course. If you were to slap some bolt ons you might end up seeing high 200's low 300's depending on what you go with. With fueling you could definitely get it up there. The reason we hit 500hp on our Si is because we made all sorts of custom parts for it.
Why was this excluded from sales to California? Lol
Many parts are excluded from CA unfortunately! Some of the strictest emission laws prevent us from shipping there.
Whats so special about this little 1.5 ?
Little engine. BIG power!
Impressive results from a 1.5 can't argue that 👏
3500 bucks for rods and pistons 🤣. What a steal 👏
and... you know.. the entire block, oil pump, and rotating assembly brand new
Big power that lasts can come at a cost!
3500 for a BUILT bottom end is reasonable Chief 👌
@@The1st60ft except it's a stock block with pistons and rods
@@thomasmatarazzo198 what kind of block are you expecting? Billet? Lmao dude get a clue. You're paying for a REPUTABLE shop to built you a RELIABLE motor for BIG Power
Sponsor me so I can put this swap into my Nissan Sentra
Will it fit into your Sentra
I have a 2019 Sentra . I very much doubt it’ll fit. BUT ! I’ll make it fit 👀👀
