I used to use Battery Tender but after exploring Battery Minder I switched. They make selectable models that allow you to change the charging voltage to match your battery whether you have a standard flooded lead-acid, an AGM absorbed glass mat or a lithium one. The one called out above is for the AGM battery which is standard on the Indian.
The charger has 4 modes starting with a soft start for low batteries, then a constant current for the main/absorption charge followed by a constant voltage for a finish charge. The fourth mode is a float charge to hold the battery at full charge.
The charger also has a temperature correction ability as a batteries voltage fluctuates with temperature so it will always be charging at the desired voltage.
The desulfation mode is always on. It is a pulsed charge that helps shock the crystals that form on the battery plates decreasing capacity.
And finally, it tests the battery every 12 hrs giving you an early heads up that trouble may be coming before you get stranded.
There is no downside to this charger sans the price, but you get what you pay for. I use to use all the above charging methods manually when I serviced aircraft batteries for a living. Now in the age of computers, you can buy a smart-charger that does most of the things I had to do manually.
And one final note. Yes, you can get by with an improper charger and you may never notice it. Battery manufacturers develop their batteries using different chemistry's which require different charging schemes in order to develop and maintain full potential. With big V-twins, it is even more important to have a strong battery.

Great video! It should help those who know little or nothing about properly charging or maintaining a battery. But take note, at the 2:09 mark, attaching the cable clamp to the screw, as indicated in your additional tips at 3:08. That screw is loose, thus will not achieve a full contact with the terminal. When possible, attach all clamps or cables to either a battery post or a tightened screw. You'll achieve a better connection. I've had a rep from Deka Batteries (supplier of batteries from heavy equipment 4D batteries, semis group 31, down to motorcycles) confirm this. The best connection yields the best charge, especially when jumping a battery.

Great information, the part about the jumper cables stirred up some childhood trauma.

My battery is at 7.5V, you think I can use the battery minder or do I do the full battery setup described in the video???

I can't see why you can't. The video at 2:09 has already answered your question.

I traded my ninja zx14r that I only started once a week for a 2019 Indian Springfield. My battery is not holding a charge. It went from 14.5 down to 12 in six days. If this is normal please let me know thanks. I didn't use a trickle charger for either bike.

Your Springfield, much like the Roadmaster and Chieftain, have accessories that continually drain the battery, such as the clock, alarm system, etc. so yes, you will see a drain on your battery, especially if parked for an extended length of time.
