I was told by a battery dude, when cleaning the battery , use hot water, the hotter the better and nothing else. probably not a good idea to submerse the battery in a large pot of boiling water tho, what he did is first used a battery terminal cleaner, cleaned it up a bit, then dumped a bit of boiling hot water onto the battery. i asked him if that's a good idea, and he said that since its only a rinse, it doesn't have time to damage anything because its on and off so quick. He explained that a baking soda/ water solution may find its way inside the battery, very unlikely but it could happen, especially with a battery with removable caps., seems logical to me, seems to work really well. been doing it for a few years now with great results. awesome video, cheers
I have a battery tender with the small terminal lead and I haven’t rode the bike in about a month and left it plugged in and charging and I go to start up the bike today and completely dead...?
Its pretty simple really. My atv felt like it was losing power when i hit the throttle, and the definitive sign is that you hear a cranking sound. Kinda like a buzzer.
I was riding on the freeway and the battery suddenly died - absolutely no power. No warning signs for me. I take good care of my batteries. Can't seem to get more than two years out of the lead acid batteries even riding year-round.
Peter Bare I've had my Optimate 3+ for years. I think there is no better charger. It runs tests on the battery and even desulphates. I need to get a second one so I don't have to switch back and forth between motorcycle and tractor batteries.
Good video..strait to the point, answers the correct most asked questions.
That was extremely well presented. Thank you!!
Excellent informative video , thank you very much.

Dumbass
Battery Tender does no desulfation. Use a BatteryMINDer as this will work much better. Lost 3 batteries to Battery Tender because of this.
Will a battery 'suddenly fail" without warning? What would be the warning signs?

What would be the warning signs of a battery failing without warning? Is that really your question?
