12mp is NOT limiting for printing in magazines. Giant billboards, yes. Everything else, 12mp is perfectly fine. I've got a 150cm wide print from an 8mp camera on my wall and it looks fantastic.

Sorry to bring up an old video, but I was wondering which sony (or canon) would you recommend for hotel videography? A lot of the time, the guest rooms and lobbies will have large, bright windows with poorly lit rooms. I'm guessing something with a high dynamic range would be best. Any recommendations?

Thanks for the review! The title is a bit misleading though (like almost all UHD marketing these days) as the A7SII does not shoot 4K but UHD.

Can it do lengthy videos without overheating? Unless I had tons of money, I'd probably get 2 GH4's before one of these, but I've heard how great the Sony's are.

just bought an A7S ii video is freaking amazing also own a 5D mark ii 5D mark iii and a gh4. i dont really recommend it for pictures but im guessing sony had low light video performance strictly in mind when making this camera and pictures is just a side pluss. Only thing is the GH4 has C4K but falls off in low lighting.
I'm not finding anywhere on the internet about a bitrate of over 100 if you use a 128gb class 10 card. You are the first person to say that. Where did you hear it???

i like this camera, but not global shutter. That is a big problem if you want make a cinema style ( fight, weels, fast mouvements...) the price is realy good to work with 4K full frame and hight ISO. just compromise.

For photography this camera sucks in AF-C, if you plan on using this mode often don't bother buying it its almost broken. I have both A7rii and A7sii and I would say that the A7rii is Overall the best 4K Video and Photo Camera. The A7sii is the best 4k Camera for Low light usage.
Actually the A7rii is very good with autofocus but it really depends also on which lenses you are using. Sony needs to make better lenses like the 55 1.8. the Ziess batis 25 is amazing,

At a pathetic 12MP it is nowhere near worth it's price tag.
+Daniel R. It's clear that you do not have no idea what you are talking about. The camera has 12 mp because it is focussed on video makers. You do not need more than 12 mp for 4K video. Every mp extra would have a negative effect on the image quality and low light ability. How many mp do you think a ARRI Alexa of 60k has?

Actually you don't need more than 8.5MP for the 4K ..
I'm not talking about 4K alone. For that price I would want a camera that takes perfect photos and 4K video. Not just one and not the other. You are missing the main point.
4k + insane low-light abilities + 5-axis stabilization + the S-logs .. it's stealing ..
