This review was incredible Brandon! Not only was the content very in depth and thorough, but you seemed very comfortable in front of the camera and were able to articulate your points flawlessly. I vote for more Brandon and camera stuff!
I would like to see a review about a few cheaper DSLRs in the price range of around 300-500€. I think that's more afordable than this 2000-3000€ monster.
+Senzelian If you are talking about still photography, get the Nikon D7100 secondhand. It's as close as you can get to the full frame D600, for much less. For lenses, I've discovered that zooms are eternally more useful for amateurs. If possible, I would track down the Sigma 50-150 F2.8 with optical stabilization (OS) second hand. Glass, that is to say lenses, do not age, and you can in theory buy lenses from the 50s. Anyway, lenses are much more important for image quality, than the camera body. If you want a brilliant lens for video, go with the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 ART. It is a bit pricey for budget buyers, but at the same time offers extreme value compared to Nikon / Sony / Canon etc. original lenses. I would personally get this lens, above medium priced lenses like the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8, because honestly, phone cameras work at the same focal lengths, and you want something which is THAT much superior, that nobody will question whether you shot with a phone or not.
+Senzelian but 2000-3000 is cheap for a camera! Ok, it's cheap if you are using it professionally. As a pro shooter myself, I am very unhappy with ALL of the current offerings. I'm even taking into consideration RED cameras and the Arri Alexa.
This review was very pleasant. I rarely go all out in a comment like I'm about to, but here I go. I think the overall quality of this video shows how far the Linus Media Group has come, and how many improvements they've been able to make since moving into their new office. Great f'king job guys. Brandon, you've done a great job as a reviewer. Your background with cameras (of course) makes you the perfect candidate for this review (duh, that's why you did this one...). And I'd say you've improved since other times we've seen you on camera. A+. As others mentioned, the b-roll was magnificent (is that because it WASN'T shot on the a7S? hehehe). Luke....yes, just yes.
Guys... Your visuals are RIDICULOUS good... Like... Holy Crap. They've transcended into the realm of visual inspiration. VERY rarely do you find people willing to put excellent skill and effort into reviews. Never stop improving. The truth is, I don't watch your videos for info, but for inspiration and story behind a small time player that can grow into a well established business. You guys are my inspiration. Thank you LMG.
+Jaike It's a full frame with flagship video features and almost (second to the A7RII) flagship still features. Of course it's going to be expensive. It's not a compact.
skatertwig26 I only do video too, A7RII has more features though. The AF problems on the A7SII are non existent on the A7RII. Also, you can shoot in Super 35 mode and the sensor is now at 5K resolution so you're going to get a much sharper image. I even did a video on it: ua-cam.com/video/ZCBGLZ6DUGo/v-deo.html
***** Well I do both photo and video quite a bit. I am well aware of the pros and cons of each. Super 35 is great but if I get full frame I want use full frame and it is softer on the a7r ii. Plus the low light isn't on par. That being said I would buy the a7r ii since it does photo and video well. As for af it is a big seller, but for video I never use it.Only photo's. I will check out the video.
+skatertwig26 you should watch my video, in terms of softness in FF on the A7RII is irrelevant when being watched on UA-cam with compression. Unless you're pixel peeping it's just as good.
yehpah i use A7Rii for 3 months and its great! It feels like A7Sii is a copy of 7Rii with less functions for same price. In R2 you get better autofocus and best photo quality on a market, same noise level in video in 35mm mode up to 12800 iso. only advantage of 7sii is low light capabilitys from 12800 iso. in all the other points it completely losses to Rii
LETS fucking give it up to Brandon, this was a really great video and I hope people can appreciate all the hard work he's done for LTT since the beginning. TO MORE VIDEOS FROM YOU !!!
I really enjoy it when Brandon reviews products or just puts in his two cents. He's very thorough, yet concise and considers both consumer and professional use case scenarios. I always look forward to his videos. It's always nice to hear from others as well as Linus and Luke, who may have unique perspectives given their areas of expertise and on occasion even have differing options on things as well. Keep up the great work! We all really appreciate it!
More of this please! Brandon is a great presenter. I would have liked to see some rolling shutter tests since that's supposedly one of the big weaknesses of the camera.
Now that is what I'm talking about. Dude you nailed this review and man I gotta say I'm looking forward to more of your camera and what other reviews your going to do.
I Love how sales are the most important thing in any industry . Linus , by far has outdone anyone in this realm of PC hardware reviews , sales + content = mucho content = Infinity .... Keep it up , great small business role model for all of us !
I started watching this on my phone, then after the intro. When the music started playing and the beautiful b-roll came on screeen. I just closed the app and went upstairs. I understood that I needet to watch such a quality video on my pc. Keep up the great work. Absolutely loved this video(and I could not care less about cameras)! What song is used in the b-roll as a quick question?
Benjamin Rickels What are you on about? This isn't FOR them. This is for film, if you're in the film business, $3,400 is NOTHING. And, if you think it is, you're in the wrong business.
You can buy cameras with bigger sensors...they are called DSLR cameras ;)There are some issues (physics) to put bigger sensors in Smartphone... I think the A7s is nearly as small as you can go with that size of a sensor...
Great video, very informative, great examples (that purple pedobear was scary tho), good pace, no unnecessary pauses for not-funny-when-done-million-times awkward silences. Just great, already looking forward for next videos of yours. Go team Brandon!
+Miroshi Mro Hey Hey Hey composed by Joseph Gileadi - part of the album Neon Youth (album code NSPS198; Indie Electronic, Warner Chappell) Wish you good luck finding it somewhere... was really hard to find it...
+HexerPsy It was not that hard actually, found it in less than 5 minutes. Try searching for the album name on Warner/Chappell production music webpage :)
Great review Brandon! Definitely want to see more videos on camera gear. As suggestions, maybe add a small bit at the end like in Linus' videos "who is this product for?", and maybe a bit more on the camera's ergonomics overall.
Damn, Linus tech group sure is lucky to have Brandon. He's someone to be reckoned with in the tech review world. A perfect balance between technical detail (sorely lacking in many, many tech reviewers on UA-cam) and personal experience. People like MKBHD or dare I say, even Linus, can learn a thing or two from him.
nice to see u in front of the camera Brandon :D You did grat in my opinion ;) And btw, the music u guys used after the the intro during the short b-roll is awesome ^^
+FahmiZFX "This is a very welcomed addition since it will give you a bit more wiggle room when re-framing shots in post." just saying I think Brandon is Canadian.

awesome this was really helpful, my crew recently purchased the A7sii and we've been using it for shooting theater performance promos. Because I've mainly been working contacts and networking, I haven't had too much time to review our new camera. This was good in comparison to our GH4 and canon cameras we have
Thanks Luke! An introduction to prosumer cameras would be a handy video (many probably are happy with their phone and/or action camera, but covet the quality of photos achieved with better gear). Great to also explain all those settings. I could search elsewhere, but I'm happy to wait.
To be honest your voice scared the crap out of me at the beginning. I changed the card in browser and BOOM some different voice! And it was quite loud. Excited? Hehe. Amazing review by the way. Wish i could do such.
Thanks Luke, you nearly made me choke to death when you came in at the end there, I had a mouthful of pepsi and wasn't expecting to laugh during the sponsor spot XD
The b-rolls in this video were absolutely stunning. Great jobs guys.
+DK_7575 What is b roll?
+DK_7575 Exactly, they almost had an "MKBHD vibe", which is a huge compliment
+Bloax The panning cinematic shots I'm pretty sure. like when they show off the camera.
Thank you guys for your help, I'm trying to get an understanding of it. Is it supposed to seem so vague?
+DK_7575 Almost as good as Hardware Canucks... ;)
The bokeh pleases me
A new entry into teamcrispy?
+Jonathan Morrison Although the bokeh looks like onions in most of the shots...
+NeverStop Longboarding Yeah, didn't like the lens.
Now all we need is for Berkel to make a review.
+Ahmed Awadalla Nicky V!
NICKY V!!!
+Ahmed Awadalla DENNIS
That would be a comedy show !
NO! DENINIS MUST DO IT! (They should make a comtent featuring an Asian.)
This review was incredible Brandon! Not only was the content very in depth and thorough, but you seemed very comfortable in front of the camera and were able to articulate your points flawlessly. I vote for more Brandon and camera stuff!

This
+Senzelian Well, if you buy a monster like this anyway you might as well make a review video.
+Senzelian If you are talking about still photography, get the Nikon D7100 secondhand. It's as close as you can get to the full frame D600, for much less. for video I love my D5300 by Nikon
+Senzelian but 2000-3000 is cheap for a camera!
Ok, it's cheap if you are using it professionally. As a pro shooter myself, I am very unhappy with ALL of the current offerings. I'm even taking into consideration RED cameras and the Arri Alexa.
Brandon beautiful review :D I'm jealous of your balls... the bokeh balls that is... :p
Big fan :)
+HardwareCanucks you even commented on this =D
I just asked if they hired you x'D
+HardwareCanucks Imagining your voice saying this!
+HardwareCanucks I thought you did the B-roll lol
More camera stuff please, there isn't enough quality camera stuff on UA-cam and I like Brandon's angle.
I LOVE WHEN BRADON DOES THESE VIDEOS!!! Please more brandon! :D
Am I the only person who could care less about cameras, but still watches every video from LTT?
You have to care at least a little if you "could care less".
+FPSGameClips couldn't*
Happy now?
***** Much better. :D
Im here for people, not what they do
+jesse reed nope
Absolutely awesome review, Brandon! Great job, would love to see more when appropriate.
Nice review guys, that B roll is nice!
This review was very pleasant. I rarely go all out in a comment like I'm about to, but here I go.

Expensive af.
Love the review.
Would buy it if I had money, even tho not intended for the general audience.
+Jaike Well, because Sony is the only company right now thats selling mirrorless full-frame cameras.
Oi, give me my waifu back you thief!
Obsy MY WAIFU :O
+Jaike It's a full frame with flagship video features and almost (second to the A7RII) flagship still features. Of course it's going to be expensive. It's not a compact.
ShiroiKage009 I know, I wasn't complaining or anything, I was just saying it was expensive.
A7SII is a beast but I prefer the A7RII.
+Armando Ferreira Same but if I did do video only I would buy the a7s ii.
skatertwig26 I only do video too, A7RII has more features though. The AF problems on the A7SII are non existent on the A7RII. Well done, Brandon.
Brandon should do more camera videos. It's really helpful and he hit all the facts that i need to keep in mind considering for my new buy...
LETS fucking give it up to Brandon, this was a really great video and I hope people can appreciate all the hard work he's done for LTT since the beginning. TO MORE VIDEOS FROM YOU !!!
I rewatched your first video Brandon, and youve improved massively. Good Job.
Hopefully not Brandons last camera review! Amazing shots and very nice review overall.

Also, Brandon's getting real good with presenting
Brandon really is very pleasant to watch and listen to in his rare videos. Thumbs up.
I want this for Christmas UGHHH
DavidParody did you get it?
Why is this Asian dude here
More of this please! Brandon is a great presenter. I would have liked to see some rolling shutter tests since that's supposedly one of the big weaknesses of the camera.
I would love to see the LTT review of the URSA and URSA Mini............
+Z Vaper Z, why did you stop making videos? :( we miss you.
Now that is what I'm talking about. Dude you nailed this review and man I gotta say I'm looking forward to more of your camera and what other reviews your going to do.
I watch before the 1000 view mark. Wow, I need to get some kind of price here.
Fun to see Brandon talking stuff as well :)
+SomeNiceMovies Price???????????? do you mean priZe?
DanielRichards644 Do you have other keys than ?????????????????????
YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII DDDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I Love how sales are the most important thing in any industry . Linus , by far has outdone anyone in this realm of PC hardware reviews , sales + content = mucho content = Infinity .... Keep it up , great small business role model for all of us !
Brandon should make a spin off page called "B-Roll Camera Tips", subsidiary of Linus Tech Tips.
Great jab Brandon! I can't wait to see you hosting more videos. Keep up the great work guys and merry christmas!
Great job Brandon!
There's a reason Brandon's nickname is B-Roll. Those are some beautiful shots. Great job!
"BUILD IT BEAUTIFUL!! YEAH!" totally unexpected and funny
Brandon, you are getting better. Keep it up and I am looking forward to more of your reviews!
It's not just the camera you're watching for, it's that Luke off to the right.
*_BUILD IT BEAUTIFUL!!!_*
The way the music was handled in this video was spot on. Also Taran and Luke made me laugh.
Please do more like this. I'm not a camera guy, but I learned a LOT from this video. Great work!
a wild Luke appears....
You mean Brandon, right? lol.
BUILD IT BEAUTIFUL!
+PandaYT There was actually a wild Luke at the end...
Senzelian
Yeah, i commented before the end of the video :(
+by CDMC was he on coke??
Whoa! A camera review where the actual camera is used to do the review! What a concept! This is what every camera reviewer should be doing.
another ridiculously expensive ($3,400) camera for pro users. perfect timing to lift our holiday spirits -_-
Jimmy Dali This wasn't even slightly intended for the general audience.
+Shivam Kumar Watched the whole video only understood half of it
+Jimmy Dali $3,400 is expensive? You're in the wrong industry, kid.
BrettCWX says Richie Rich.
Benjamin Rickels What are you on about? This isn't FOR them. This is for film, if you're in the film business, $3,400 is NOTHING. And, if you think it is, you're in the wrong business.
3:13. Does a purple Taran come with the camera too?
BUILD IT BEAUTIFUL!
Dear Linus, i hope you make more Camera stuff again with Brandong, is just so good to watch😉
I get it they give video to person best suited to review the product they have experience in....very Smart move
What a great addition to the channel... Pro video and photography reviews...
why are all low light cameras 12MP:
Google pixel
Samsung S7
Samsung Note 7
This thing
the list goes on....
the sensor pixels are larger, so it can capture more light per pixel
Howie Au why dont they just have a bigger sensor then
Michael Flatman they'd have to design new lenses
You can buy cameras with bigger sensors...they are called DSLR cameras ;)There are some issues (physics) to put bigger sensors in Smartphone... I think the A7s is nearly as small as you can go with that size of a sensor...
+Howie Au doesnt the A7S already have a 35 MM sens or is Sony's website wrong?
also Brandon did a very nice job... given his background it makes sense for him to do the camera reviews
*BUILD* *IT* *BEAUTIFUL!!!*
yeah.
*YEAH!!!*
A+ for Brandon and dem camera reviews; bonus points for Luke "Build it Beautiful" Lafreniere
LOL LUKE!! 6:54
Great video, very informative, great examples (that purple pedobear was scary tho), good pace, no unnecessary pauses for not-funny-when-done-million-times awkward silences. Just great, already looking forward for next videos of yours. Go team Brandon!
0:20 name of the song please :) ??
+Miroshi Mro Hey Hey Hey composed by Joseph Gileadi - part of the album Neon Youth (album code NSPS198; Indie Electronic, Warner Chappell)
Wish you good luck finding it somewhere... was really hard to find it...
+HexerPsy It was not that hard actually, found it in less than 5 minutes. Try searching for the album name on Warner/Chappell production music webpage :)
Avalkiz2
Yeah, but can you buy/download from Warner Chappell? It doesnt give you the option, even after registering there.
*****
That sucks though...
+MEZV After further investigation, there is a way to download the song from another website called Miles of Music :) Hint: CTRL+U
Great review Brandon! Definitely want to see more videos on camera gear. As suggestions, maybe add a small bit at the end like in Linus' videos "who is this product for?", and maybe a bit more on the camera's ergonomics overall.
The fucking "build it beautiful". Holy shit, mien sieds.

why is Luke drunk, celebrating something?
astonishing color light in the intro. keep working like this!
What is that music? I NEED TO KNOW!!
me too :(
This was one of the better quality videos that has come out lately. Absolutely brilliant
Luke !!!! you!!! seriously !!!! I mean seriously !!!
nice to see u in front of the camera Brandon :D You did grat in my opinion ;) And btw, the music u guys used after the the intro during the short b-roll is awesome ^^
Oh, Luke.
I would like to see more camera gear reviews as well. Thumbs up for Brandon.
5:19 ?
I'm not American, somebody help me pls D:
+FahmiZFX He clearly says that it will give you a bit more wigglerwewlweerewey when reframing shots in post
+FahmiZFX "This is a very welcomed addition since it will give you a bit more wiggle room when re-framing shots in post." just saying I think Brandon is Canadian.
+FahmiZFX He basically says that it will give you a little room for error in post production.
+FahmiZFX Wiggle room? It will give you some more flexibility.

"it will give you a bit more wiggle-room when reframing shots in post"
If wiggle room was what confused you here is a definition

Always is nice to have new sections, and this may help a lot of people. Good Job
You guys should get Dennis to do a review
Brandon is actually one of my favorite reviewers after seeing this. He really deserves more views and more credit.
Top Gear like review? Ok....
Okay seriously, give Brandon and Edzel their own camera gear series. Never thought I would search LTT for a gear video, but damn, they really give alot of insight. Especially since he tells it how it is.
Does anyone here have a nikon d90?
No?
Ok, ok i piss off already
Me bro! But want to upgrade it to D7000 lol
+Pradipta Siagian if possible, get the 7100. I have it (also a d800E and a d810) and it's great.
+Farnomat i got a nikon d60 :) (and a new sony a6000)
+Farnomat i have a nikon d40, gonna upgrade but don't know to what.-
***** the d7100 would be a great choice
We need more Brandon on camera gear.
worst A7s 2 review i ever seen
+akhil mohan I agree

I never would have imagined that you would make a review on this! Awesome! we want mooooore !
I just want to say I'm really liking these camera reviews! I haven't found many chanels that do it how I like and yours hit just the spot!
Thumbs up for an awesome camera/review Brandon and Luke's random input! +1
awesome this was really helpful, my crew recently purchased the A7sii and we've been using it for shooting theater performance promos. Because I've mainly been working contacts and networking, I haven't had too much time to review our new camera. This was good in comparison to our GH4 and canon cameras we have
Great job Brandon! Keep the cinematography videos coming!
Thanks Luke!
An introduction to prosumer cameras would be a handy video (many probably are happy with their phone and/or action camera, but covet the quality of photos achieved with better gear). Great to also explain all those settings. I could search elsewhere, but I'm happy to wait.
GIMME MORE CAMERA VIDS!
seriously good job brandon. it was a really nice video!
Good job Brandon, can't wait to see more videos hosted by you!
Dat like button, great work Brandon, I hope Linus lets you do many many many more camera videos, and anything else too.
Mega thumbs up and we want to see more Brandon videos !!! Congratz Brandon !
Great video, Brandon did great! Would love to see more technical camera reviews!
Love to see more camera reviews!
To be honest your voice scared the crap out of me at the beginning. I changed the card in browser and BOOM some different voice! And it was quite loud. Excited? Hehe. Amazing review by the way. Wish i could do such.
I don't comment often but I really liked this video. Very nice quality and I liked the addition of music. Well done
This is quite good! I would like more videos from brandon about these awesome cameras!
Thanks Luke, you nearly made me choke to death when you came in at the end there, I had a mouthful of pepsi and wasn't expecting to laugh during the sponsor spot XD
I saw the video title and thought, it better be Brandon or Edzel doing the review. I was not disappointed.
Fantastic video. Good writing, fantastic image and sound quality. Oh, and dat B-roll, great job with the lighting for sure.
PLEASE do more camera reviews! This was great!
I would love more video like this!!! Please do more videos on cameras and great work Brandon!

Do more camera reviews Brandon. You're really good. Would really love to see how the shooting part works in LTTs awesome production.
Awesome video guys, well done. Love to see Brandon more often in video's! Also, b-rolls are insanely good!!! Keep on improving guys!
Good review, Brandon. Keep working on your speech enunciation, but I appreciated how natural you sounded on camera.
Good job, man.
