I own this amp. Every single review of it sounds harsh and brittle. In person it is balanced and full. For those disliking the tone, try and go play one first. It is a great experience.
@@brandonanderson2066 Well, as with most Orange amps, if you have the gain up high with very little volume they sound very fizzy. The louder the volume, the better the gain you add will sound. They are "interactive".That being said, a little push with a clean boost can get the preamp where you want it at lower volumes. The 32 has not headroom/ bedroom switch(something to consider), but the stereo power section is amazing. Ive been able to comfortably play at home, but the 15 will be better at this. On both,, I think the sweet spot on the dirty channel is about 1:00 o'clock. I remember playing it at the music shop. Once it was dialed in, I literally said, "yup, I'm buying this thing." I play a lot of ambient stuff, sort of Post-Rock and the 32's stereo is insane. Which is the real selling point of this amp for me. Go into just the left return and it functions like any other amp. Go into both and the amp sounds like it's 6 feet wide. Go into just the right return and the amp becomes a wet/dry rig which sounds amazing but your effects in the loop will need to be 100٪ wet. I love this thing. Hope this helps.
I can buy one used right now for half price. So im wondering how does it sound with gain on full. Will it do metal? Hard to tell through my phone speaker. Thanks.
@@shawnmacdonald6955 Hey Shawn. I would say its on the more vintage side of Orange sound. It could probably get there with some pedal and EQ but naturally it's not that heavy modern sound.
This is why this amp is amazing. 12:05 clean. 12:50 soaring lead. I would say this amp is a little loose for rythum but is perfect for a mostly lead guitar player.
Very well. They love Big Muffs and most overdrive and some distortion pedals. MIAB pedals and Bluesbreaker, Boss BD-2, Super Crunch Box- all sound good. Also take Fuzz very well. Friedman BE sounds great.
Question! Im looking at a valve combo amp around 15w. Hughes and ketter tm18 or orange rocker 15. I play mainly shred style guitar and need advice between the two. Ive only been able to play an orange and i thought it sounded pretty boss but im trying to see how it compares to the tubemiester. I know the orange has more preamp tubes in it. Any advice on them??? Thanks
Hi there! Well it totally comes down to personal preference, but I think the Orange Rocker is great for shred, especially if you throw a distortion pedal in front of it too. -Lee
They had a tubemeister 18 head used and the rocker 15 combo used at guitar center. I played them both thru an Orange PPC212 closed cab and I thought they were both great. I like the tube Meister for its options and the ability to not need a cab and the Redbox DI. But I just preferred the tone from the rocker 15 and its simplicity. I think I made the right choice and I stand by what I got.
Just played one at GC and it was sick. Ive owned dr.z amps, a jcm800 from the 80’s and its been hard to find an amp that fits what Ive played. The rocker 32 is killer.

How is it at lower to mid volumes?

@@shawnmacdonald6955 Full gain is kind of crispy but thick. Max gain to the ear is about 3 o'clock

Great little amp...love the 1 or 1/2 watt idea as well
These suck compared to the Rocker 30!
How well do these things take distortion pedals ie. metal pedals
Very well. They love Big Muffs and most overdrive and some distortion pedals. MIAB pedals and Bluesbreaker, Boss BD-2, Super Crunch Box- all sound good. Also take Fuzz very well.
Friedman BE sounds great.
I own Marshall boogie and it can't believe how great this is

Get the TM 18. Jmo
Lowtech14 definitely the rocker 15 or the rocker 32 the tone of this orange is good for the British shred style of Joe Bonamassa or Gary Moore

I’ve got a rocker 30 and believe me there worth it
So... Rocker 32 or OR15 head and dual cab?
I own a petrusia boogie. The orange is right there.
Nice video!
Didn't know ted mosby played guitar
I love Orange Amps, but I find the gain on this one on the harsh, sawtoothy side. Jmo
They sound like a broken fuzz pedal
