Gotta say this amp is easily my favorite gear purchase. I have bought and sold loads of guitars, pedals and s few amps. This is the only purchase where I had absolutely zero regret or felt as though it's good but overpriced. This amp has an amazingly beautiful and complex clean tone similar to sk old fender tweed imo. Plug in some PAF style humbuckers and the clean channel gets into full on neil young/amp on the verge of destruction tones. Add a clean boost and you get into fuzz territory. Got an excellent crunch too thats voiced totally different than the dirt channel. The drive channels made me question why I ever got my drive from pedals. I still use fuzz and clean boosts or light od's (klon and screamer), but that's it. This is my be all end all drive tone. It can do a brighter Marshall thing, but I prefer the bass right at noon, mids and 3, and treble at 1. It has SO MUCH bass and just sounds killer for riff rock or any style of rock that doesn't require tightness. I could go on, but this is long enough job one will read already, lol. Bottom line, for the price its s 10/10. Gig ready and whisper quiet too
@@Nautijan I mostly used fender tube amps in the past and used pedals for distortion sounds, and overdrive/boosts for a little grit. I loved the cleans, but even with the best metal distortion pedals around I never got "that" sound. As far as actual higher gain amps I've played with marshalls (never owned one) a good bit and always found them to be too shrill at reasonable volumes. With the orange I can get the spanky cleans and a great high gain sound, with a boost you can do metal or a convincing fuzz mimicry. It's just a great all arounder
Would This be good for strictly bedroom use ? Or does it sound better cranked up? I was looking at the newer Blackstar htr1 mkii but may bite the bullet and get this one.
I had purchased the OR32, it’s like having 2 OR15’s in 1 box. I love it. I run my stereo Modulation pedals through the stereo FX loop but I was wanting more separation. I was thinking on adding the OR15.
Great amp. I gigged with the Rocker 15 recently and it packed plenty of punch and headroom. Don't be fooled by it's size...this amp is LOUD! Want more bass connect to a cab. Very versatile.
+The Heebie Jeebies This amp is so loud because its speaker's sensitivity is rated as 101dB, which is 5dB more than a Celestion Heritage Greenback. Personally, I would swap in a Jensen 10″ Electric Lightning to subtract 4dB with great tone.
Great demo - just a wee shame that there were no SPL / db meter readings on the screen. You can tell in 0.5w mode, though, that the sound of the pick on the strings is audible as well as the sound of the amp. However, with other settings, the volume on the video is normalized and Tom's "Wow, loud!" is only "metering" ;) we have to go by! There really isn't a discernible difference in volume to the listener. Maybe next time?
Man a chorus effect on the dirty and I’ve got my 80s sound with a clean sound I think I’m in on this amp. I don’t gig much mostly home jams but sometimes we get loud, I think this is what I’m after
I borrowed one of these amps recently, and I haven't had that much fun playing guitar in years. Definitely on my shopping list, I need to own one. Super loud at full power, but meaty even at 0.5W, can't go wrong with an Orange Rocker 15
Every other video I've seen where they take the amp from full to half power, seems to mute that "pop". I think it's great you left it in, as people should know what to expect. Otherwise they're going to think they have a bad one.
How loud is the clean channel when maxed on the .5w setting? Looking for apartment use, and this looks promising. I like the sound of the clean channel cranked better than the dirty channel.
on the .5 watt setting, it is an ideal volume for an apartment without compensating on tone. You can talk over it and be heard without a problem, if that is a helpful reference in any way!
When absolutely maxed out, it does have some volume to it - The half-watt setting is a more than welcome inclusion to ensure you can access those rich harmonic tones without upsetting anyone, and this amp is one of a few amplifiers that could let you achieve those tones at sensible bedroom levels, but of course, it depends on many other factors specific to your environment. quiet tones at this price don't get much better though!
Hey Tom, I've been thinking of getting the new Orange Rocker 15 amp but the downside for me is that the clean channel is very chime-y/glassy and breaks up quite a lot. I want a bassy Fender-y type of clean sound, so would using an EQ pedal on the orange improve its cleans?
Curious if it would make sense for me to trade in my old Rocker 30 for this. My R30 still sounds excellent but it's more power than I need and is missing the FX loop. Love the Headroom/Bedroom flexibility of the 15 and don't imagine needing the additional power (the volume on my R30 never went past 11:00 even when gigging)
Hey! Great vid and awesome amp, however it is waaaaay out of my possibilities (in my country is like 16000 MXN, which are 750-800 euros aprox), i've been looking for a valve amp, however, I only can spend 400 euros, I do not look for a suuuuper loud amp, nor an amp with a 1000 simulations, I really only want two channels, a footswitch and... thats it, your standard mid, treb, bass, volume & gain knobs... what do you recommend??? (I'd also like a reverb or a delay integrated but I really do not believe something like that exists, Lol)
The tiny terror was only a single channel, and did not have the bedroom / headroom switch. I am sure they are similar in there schematic, but no, it isn't just a renamed tiny terror.

Sounds very positive. With which other amps did you compare it with ?

I might pick one up to try. Thanks.

i've been playing for 50 years and just love this guys playing can watch his technique all day - much envy :)

Hey do you still gigging with this amp? Did you gig outdoor or indoor? Mic'd or unmic'd?
Orange got the clean channel right... Excellent both the Rocker 15 and 32.
Tom is the best reviewer on yt :) greetings from Poland ! :)
The search and the buck stop with Tom Quayle. I'm sold!

What a stunning player. Could watch this guy all day. I prefer marshall tone to orange but this does sound really nice

Fantastic demo. Thank you.
I love the sound.

Thanks. Specifically, is it still conversational volume if the clean channel volume is set to maximum (for power tube breakup only)?

Crank it up till the cops show up then back it off a bit.

Get a Supro Blues King 10
The supro is a great amp but so is the orange !
You have a mic on it so how does one know what it sounds like alone?

+Fernando Silva For a tube amp, look at the Laney CUB12R. For a modeling amp, look at the Boss Katana 50W combo.
@@Robstafarian I have the Laney Cub 10, love it
kiiler licks ma man wow wow wow
I own this too
Why Cutlass? Where's fibernare?
Great sounding amp and disgusting player, great review and playing.
Cool, but the price is ridiculous .
Is this just the Tiny Terror with a new name? They seem to have a lot in common.

yep mic on it play it with out the mic
Too much talk not enough Sabbath. Its an orange! That means peg the gain tune low and play slow!
This or vox ac15?
Had the same lingering dilemma after watching the video and I've gone for the Orange. Awaiting delivery in a few weeks. Good luck!
how is it?
every review I watch of this amp it sounds different. Very unimpressed with the clean channel, it sounds thin and trebbly..
They sound like a broken fuzz pedal not my cup of tea good video thow
