unconsciously wanted to show off speed...need to kick ego out when we learn..lot of people don't want to look ridiculous and keep the same habits and it usually slowsdown the learning process a lot...
Been boxing for a bit now, still love watching videos like this because there's always something to learn. Small adjustments you didn't catch before that make your form and execution that much better.
I just found you. Thank you for the English translation. I watched the other channel in Russian and at times I read the translation and rewind ten sec to watch the action. I send gratitude and peace from the South Pacific
Have to say I have been watching this channel when there was English subtitles which I also liked a lot to hear the natural voice. But have to give credit the person providing the interpretation. Absolutely fantastic job!
Thank you so much for sharing this video!! I was having shoulder pain from lead hooks. I implemented what you taught and it feels 1000x better now! Thaankk you! Spaciba!
I've been watching this video and practising, and my hooks look very clean, and they feel right. I haven't seen anyone in Australia teach this kind of technique, so thank you.
nice video but I've a remarks .. this is only a type of soviet hook .. for a very short distance when you're working body to body and you don't have the chance to rotate your hips .. in fact this hook is landed by should rotation only . GGG is one of the pro boxer able to use it perfectly because due to shoulder rotation is slower than the one landed with hips rotation . The power hook is not the one in this video . That's body mechanic reason .
Everyone has their own way I guess. Seen a couple of people try it and tried myself but just looks and feels awkward to me. Elbow down , thumb facing up is the only way for me.
Shouldnt do it fast until you can do it slow perfectly 50 times in a row. People probably go fast cuz they want to feel like theyre skilled when theyre not.
He's basically saying keep everything tight. The boxer is probably confused by the movement because he feels he can't generate enough power doing it that way. The power will come from core/hip rotation, and the legs.
Meanwhile my coaches never give me advice not even “Tuck the chin”. This is why occasionally I give their favorites a beating at the gym, out of spite. God bless you coach.
I respect this coach definitely knows a lot of body mechanics. But if a certian method although unorthodox works for somebody why change it. But I get in this case the guy's form was bad from a defensive stance
@gunny1O1O1 i think it's a type of hook that's used in the clinch.Tyson was using a different type of hook as he would leap into the opponent so all the muscles would be activated trough legs and he wouldn't rotate his fist so that more of chest muscles were involved for more power
привет, тренер, я очень рад узнать, что ты такой классный, у тебя есть страсть к боксу, я ценю это и уважаю тебя как русского человека. мой вопрос: как я могу тренировать спарринг без партнера, чтобы поднять свой рефлекс?
Well I don't know where you have seen it from. But in all the schools I have seen they teach it that way in the most basic level. Swinging the elbow and rotating the shoulder. This way you avoid that it becomes a "slap" and you print more force to the blow.
@@TENNSUMITSUMA the only difference between this hook and tysons hook is that tyson didnt put his elbow above his wrist when hooking, and he twisted his legs/hips. twisting your legs is taught right after what is taught in the video
@@mobbdeep615 exactly! I don't see any pro boxer putting their elbow above their wrist when they throw a hook! At most, they throw it even, but usually the elbow is some degree below the wrist, which makes a lot more sense!
The hook looks awkward because the guy is beginner who doesn’t know how to move his body properly; Frolov is also not teaching all the body mechanics of how to throw a Russian style hook right now, but simply focusing on the shoulder movement. If you want to see what this style of hook should look like when using all the proper body mechanics watch Bivol.
This is theory. Slow hook arm punching. Little power. Watch Oscar de la Hoya. Slow down the action. Now ask yourself a question: does Oscar, do ANY pro fighters throw a left hook like THIS? Answers on a postcard!
@@SouthpawJoe it's an absolute joke. It's not biomechanically sound. He's not using his body, it's all arm, elbow is too high, shoulder is in a weak position. Its not even a hook.
"Slow it down. You must show the movement to your muscles." Gold
The way this coach explains the correct technique and movement is simply unique. So good to watch!
Coach: “do it slowly”
Boxer: punches faster
Coach: 😐

I don't box in any capacity, but this teacher is fascinating to listen to. Everything is so perfectly articulated.
You should start

Thank you for translating these videos always :)
Your welcom
A teacher of this quality is so rare in any area of life.
We are very lucky to have this man's coaching and methodology here for us all in English. What a great teacher.
"You have to show the movement to your muscles" "This joint is round, it cannot do it differently". Beautifully expressed, great video: thank you.
This coach is one of the best. His functional movement understanding is top-notch. Благодарим вас за щедрость.

Gold indeed!
Lol gold? This is peak absurdity.
This dude is such a great coach, he really takes his time with his student just to learn him a basic punch!
Bruh I wanna get trained by this guy I like how he focuses so much on learning right
I know i’ve been having trouble with the hook, but him explaining the motion of the arm is really helpful
You are being trained by him because you're watching this
The best boxing coach.greetings from greece
Just imagine if everyone had a teacher like this. Really awesome.
Amazing you literally the GOAT, you say you are not a famous boxer but you are now!
I was doing my hooks wrong and you have helped greatly to change that. Thanks
So glad i found this. Without a doubt one of the best resources and im jealous not having a coach like this

I have a shoulder pain 😣

Absolutely fantastic videos. Really help to perfect everything...so fundamental, yet so important. 🙏
You're a great coach. thanks for all of your videos!!! (Australia)
What a great voice dub. Even the accent is on point.
This is incredible technical coaching!
I like the patient teaching style and detailed techniques 👍🤩
This coach is amazing! Solve my problem for unable to initiate the hook
This student doesn’t listen
Lol all his students seem not to listen well I've seen
Most of his students doesn't listen 😂😂😂😂😂
He wants to do it his way instead of the right way
Best explanation of a hook I’ve seen
Good boxers have great teachers. Treasure every minute of advice and training. Enjoy.
Keep making these videos. Greetings from Germany

Good teaching coach, very informative 👊🏾
Lol This Translator though .... Is he not the real MVP!? 🙌🏽 .... Voice of A Smooth Carmel Latte lol

Building momentum without drawing attention....
Great video. Mabye a video about how to be a good pressure fighter? Like footwork tricks and different combinations
Holy shit, so that's how Gennady does it.
I noticed also GGG technique
This looks very difficult to do without simply performing a wide swing (and still keeping punching power). Respect.
Everyone has their own way I guess. Seen a couple of people try it and tried myself but just looks and feels awkward to me.
Elbow down , thumb facing up is the only way for me.
Me too. Thumb in feels dangerous on the bag.
You it's awkward and looks wrong when taught and used
I'm ex boxer and now still training lads 40 years later
@@deanspencer13 so you must have been boxing around the same time as our coach in basingstoke Trevor Francis. MID/late 70s?
I can do both but depends on what will hit. Just looking at this, I would start with the hips for the hook. It just feels lacking to me.
Shouldnt do it fast until you can do it slow perfectly 50 times in a row. People probably go fast cuz they want to feel like theyre skilled when theyre not.
That blyat in the beginning was hilarious

Would love this
can you talk about the wooden floor used on your boxing gym? is it really beneficial with wooden floor?

would you use american hook? basically with the palm facing you, not the ground,. thanks
great explanation of hook to the head.
can you make an explanation on hook to the body.
technique of hook to the body should be different.
thanks
it looks more like a overhand punch but yeah is a a way to launch a good hook,it is using the feet?
God bless u!❤️🥊
Painful watching this guy not want to slow down for just a moments
When you accelerate your hand your breaking the shoulder circle movement and so you are poking instead of punching.
Thank you for upload
Thanks for this good video. Can you make a video about counter pounching and how to defeat them ?

Great video, thanks. Btw, his student keep doing mistakes seems like he doesn't understand english👍🏻😅.
Thanks appreciated
His feet his not set properly to throw a correct hook
that's true but i think they were just focusing on the shoulder movement
@@duke3250 oo ok

He doesn't use his legs and hips at all. His body is not relaxed at all but too congested. Look Tyson's hook.
even without the translator you can understand his instructions perfectly
