Some things between their pendulum steps are different. Bivol is a professional boxer. Frolov is a coach of amateurs, hes more about fencing. Bivol's pendulum is heavier, he taps the floor and drops weight on the whole foot. To get more power in his punches. Thats important difference.
I appreciate the value you’re bringing here. As an American 🇺🇸 who has been self studying Russian for 5 years and just started boxing 🥊 lessons, this is hitting on all levels! Спасибо большое брат))
Biv defense summed up: Soviet Step, Eastern Long Guard fencing with the lead hand to stuff the opponent’s offense, parrying, pulls and fades. The Soviet Steps and long guard are also offensive tools for setting up shots!
mcleod boxing is a good one too! My grandpa is from Cuba so I learned the Cuban style...picking the soviet style wasnt too hard. Now Im doing kick boxing and Soviet style made the transition so easy.
Bro, between these vids and the ones on the Boxraw channel with Bivol...this is some quality content and it takes real lack of ego to show yourself as a beginner in these environments and trying to learn with earnest. Badass.
This is so good dude, it's amazing seeing the mechanics being broken down again and again and again, and most importantly, the error correction. That's the big issue with lots of teaching, we don't see the WRONG way to do things and how to fix them
Loved this video as im trying to learn this style as a tall lanky boxer. Thank you so much for this the distance probing and weight transfer was super helpful!
Great content this. I’ve been learning soviet style from alexy frolov for a few years now but I always wanted to learn Bivol style so thank you! It’s similar to the way mark melzer teaches in Moscow. Although his videos are all in Russian lol
The vlog on this channel as well as RAWWORK on the BOXRAW YT Channel, show in depth a whole workout from start to finish with Bivol. Might find some stretching in there...
How good was Soviet sport science huh! They invented super effective style of boxing, wrestling, olimpic weightlifting even new martial art SAMBO. Their strength & conditioning methods are now standard in the world. I'm from ex communist country and I despise communism but I must admit some things like education&health system and sports were really good if not superior.
there’s a channel called Russian School Of Boxing. It’s an encyclopedia for the techniques used by Biv
@vsem_boks
Yeah man that channel is fucking awesome!

i love the footwork and lightness on the feet, everything rhythm and sharp. Needs more power but its a decent trade off.
