Ok I’m trans I was In Girl Scouts let’s just say I’m the master your the student. We as little children SLAVED away for hour getting rejected and after a few days I was able to trade that in for a tin can with a small chunk of pink leopard print fabric. I never went back I hated it and I made no connections BUT I can now say as a mostly grown man that I have in fact been a Girl Scout
Man I need an immediate follow-up about school-sponsored fundraisers because the sheer anxiety of hitting enough sales to get the weird prizes was so real I remember one year I sold 100(?) boxes so I could get a 10-minute ride in a limo with four other kids. Wild.
i remember one year my whole troop opted out of the prizes and instead pooled our leftover money and we all got to go to disneyland for a day instead. so much better than the crappola they have as rewards but idk if they have it as an option anymore :((( one of the girls did get lost tho and she sat at the lost & found for half the day

My last cookie season was right before COVID hit. All of the older girls were fundraising to pay for a trip to Japan and most of us were able to pay for basically the whole trip from just the cookie money. We never got to go because COVID hit but those cookies can actually go a long way depending on the troop
When I was a girl scout I got a kindle, a special colour girl scout ipod nano, and a 3ds for selling 1000 boxes (each a different year not all at once)

Samoas are only good fresh too, there was a huge issue last year with the Samoas being held up and late so we got a nice fresh batch in Utah for the girls. I, of course, bought some. They were the best I've ever had. The regular kind that people get are good as well, but I've also had year old frozen Samoas. Completely inedible, not taste wise, but you couldn't eat them because they were rock solid.
I bought 4 boxes and somehow we still have 2 and the only reason why is (a) its been a min since we had weed in the house and (b) i got home and IMMEDIATELY hid two of them from myself in the veg drawer of our freezer lol

Just so you know the animal theme each year (at least in California) tends to be an endangered species and the troop has the option to opt out of receiving prizes for selling, they can receive cash that they can put towards whatever the troop sees fit. Such nostalgia when you explained the way people avoided you or pretended to be busy in order to act like they couldn't buy from you. Smh we see through it.

I have two sisters and they were both Girl Scouts in NY (I guess I was too but I defected from girlhood)- they have like a little camp conference for scouts that sell a certain amount of cookies. It’s like a little business summit complete with training and a look at the year ahead. Extremely adorable.

I’m a former girl scout. For a couple years my mom was in charge of buying all the cookies, and distributing them to the other girl scouts and their parents. One of my core memories is seeing my basement filled to the brim with girl scout cookies. Each flavor came in a case of like 20 packages, the smell of cold cardboard encased cookies is a smell i might not smell again. but i wish i could go back in time and make it a wearable scent 😭

Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana mom here! We're having the worst time even trying to sell cookies this year because our baker didn't make enough in time. So, not only did a bunch of the cookies sell out too fast online but we didn't get our cookie stock in until just this week. So, now we have to rush to sell as much as we can for the season ends next month. My kid will be lucky to meet her goal of 100 boxes this year 😂

I like the commentary videos, but sometimes that kind of content just makes me sad about the world, so I appreciate that you're doing lighthearted videos like this! It's a nice change of pace :)

I was in the Girl Scouts and honestly remember dolphins being a thing then too. Lol and that was when I was like 6-12 😂 I’m 27 now so they’re really just dedicated to the dolphins. 😅
Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana mom here! We're having the worst time even trying to sell cookies this year because our baker didn't make enough in time. So, not only did a bunch of the cookies sell out too fast online but we didn't get our cookie stock in until just this week. So, now we have to rush to sell as much as we can for the season ends next month. My kid will be lucky to meet her goal of 100 boxes this year 😂
