    as someone who works in a real life escape room, the movie escape room has done so much harm to the business. everyone comes in expecting a life or death game, when in reality it's just a series of logic puzzles. it makes people leave nasty reviews. what did you expect? did you come here wanting to die? that's not what we do here. imagine the lawsuits.

      I also work at an escape room! Honestly i feel like we've had the opposite experience though- its actually been really good for business. A lot of people come to play based on seeing the sensationalized movies and, while its not *that* kind of experience, they still have a really good time! Honestly i dont think ive ever interacted with a player who was upset that it wasnt like the movies (most who ask if they're like the movies are actually relieved to find out theyre not lol). Although i will say its kinda funny that people think its even possible for us to do something like that, "imagine the lawsuits" is right 💀. I say all this not to dismiss your experience, just sharing an opposite perspective!

    Movies that don’t coddle you with happy endings are the best kind of movie. In the most beautiful of films, the protagonist dies, whether it be literal or emotional. That is the best and most respectful way that movie could’ve ended in my opinion. Same goes for truth or dare, they want to stay alive enough to sacrifice hundreds or thousands of other people. This might have been the only way to get out of this situation without just letting the game die with you, and almost anybody would choose the deaths of others over the deaths of themselves. I think this ending is a good representation of what the audience would probably do in this situation, so this is the best way the movie could’ve ended because the only alternative is killing every character.

    Would you rather is such a funny movie to me because I watched it with my cousin. If we watch a movie together a scary movie can not be scary. We say too many dumb jokes. So some context, I had recently got three stepsisters.
    So towards the end of the movie, first of all, I turned to him and said "Wouldn't it be funny if when she went home her brother had killed himself so she did that all for nothing?" And then it happened 😭😭😭
    Also when he's trying to convince the MC to not shoot him he goes "Please I have three sisters" and then she basically immediately shoots him and I went "She was just putting him out of his misery, I would know."

    for some reason, when I was in high school, I used to watch Would you rather like every month. I guess it was a part of my edgy horror enjoyer phase. I rewatched it recently and tbh I still kind of enjoy it. The ending is shocking. I think that was the point. To me, the entire film is an allegory for american capitalism (maybe not the most sophisticated, but the message is still there). We start off the film learning about Iris' inability to pay for treatment for her sick brother. This is already something that I'd say the majority of working class americans can relate to. It's such a common issue that Bernie Sanders put it front and center for his campaign. Iris is then offered the money she needs for the treatment, but only if she is willing to degrade and harm herself and others. I think you can see where the comparison is in capitalism. Making money becomes one's soul purpose when money is necessary to survive. When, at the end, Iris finds that her brother OD'ed, it all becomes pointless. She killed and maimed her way to wealth in the hopes that she would be able to support her family, yet it was all for nothing. It's depressing but it is our reality.

    ??? It’s not a precursor to squid game at all. Squid game comes from a long line of “death game” stories that have been popular in east asia for decades. The most famous example is Battle Royale, which is more like hunger games than horror.

    I'm a bit offended that Would You Rather was put into that category. Yeah it has a game attached to it but the movie isn't some shallow movie about just the game like the whole Truth Or Dare. The movie actually is a good way to explain the sick wealthy people who like to watch the working class in pain. :/

    i know i'm two weeks late to this video, but there is potentially a loophole in ready or not. when the family explodes at the end, her husband is temporarily left alive, and it's only when she rejects him that he explodes as well. what the rules of that loophole are? left ambiguous. it's possible that if she had forgiven him, he would have lived. but it's equally possible that if she had forgiven him and remained married, le bail may have considered her part of the family and killed her too. either way, we'll never know because she did the very understandable thing of rejecting his murderous ass.

    can u also please talk about how disgusting the oversexualization of ads on childrens games is. i play a bunch of salon games and other made for kids games, and the ads that you get are ridiculous. i started screenshooting every time i get one because it’s genuinely disgusting, i have so many screenshots it’s sick. they advertise a few different bdsm versions of the game episode, and regular games but with super sexualized ads. i never seen anyone talking about this but it’s a real problem. it has to be intentional because why when i play an “adult game” like solitaire i get normal ads for like monopoly or cooking fever but as soon as i play a game for kids the ads get sexual. i think they know the curiosity of younger kids so they know it will get clicks but that’s disgusting. and if the ads aren’t sexual, many of them send terrible messages about body image for young girls. i’ve literally tried looking this up several times and no one seems to talk about it. if you would download some apps like nail salon 3d or icing on the cake or flip trickster, or just almost any kids game.

    i rarely leave comments, especially not unless its something positive, but i'll toss this one out. i generally really love nick's videos, this is the first one i've watched since the sneako one (its been a little while since i've watched) so i'm not sure if its just this vid or others but i just really wasn't feeling it? i think its due to having the majority of the writing not done by nick, i don't think there's anything wrong with that and splitting up workload but for a commentary video and overall channel that relies so heavily on personality, it's kind of uncanny to watch. like, it doesn't *feel* like a nickisnotgreen video. i don't think the writing is bad at all, but everyone has different styles and its just a weird juxtaposition. it feels nitpicky to complain as well about the not watching movies part but.. i do kind of agree with what some other people have commented, but moreso on the fact that its weird, again, to have a commentary channel that is based around one person's personality, but then have them speaking someone else's words and opinions in first person. i dunno! it just feels off. unfortunately im not able to finish the video, and i rarely click off of things halfway through. at the end of the day its not like everything has to be tailor made for me lol, mostly people really seemed to like this video, but thats my two cents.

      Yeah I typically don't watch nick anymore, I feel like he is very negative about small things and it ended up being his only personality on both channels. I also feel like he talks a lot about stuff that he genuinely doesn't know much about, like I don't wanna hear someone's opinion about something they know very little about, because then in order to compensate he has to nit pick

    • @keid2090
      @keid2090 Рік тому

      @@sydneyfreland2876 its really a shame! i've noticed that same kind of trend with a bunch of other commentary youtubers, i feel like at a certain point a bunch of them (not necessarily nick, as i said im not familiar with his recent vids) stopped 'punching down' and instead just started punching anywhere, and prioritizing mean spirited jokes instead of actual critique. if they're not doing that, instead it'll be like as you said where they vaguely dunk on a topic that they barely really know anything about. feels lacking in nuance but more importantly lacking in passion. it gets a bit tiring after a while :/
