Wow great you made that review, I was interested in the last ticwatch before I bought my Fenix (based also on your review). Maybe I'd get a Wear OS device as a second smartwach.
@@ChaseTheSummit absolutely, would not want to give it away, for sport I would always choose the fenix. But a Wear OS has some more functions for every day use.

That's odd. It's IP68 rated and even has a swimming activity in the exercise app. I've showered with it several times without issues. Not good that they didn't help you out. Thanks for sharing!
@@ChaseTheSummit Apparently they don't consider "showering" part of ip68. They blame it on the "high pressure". It didn't break after showering, i got some issues after 2 weeks of the last shower. Thanks for the review - fantastic, as always. One question: Do those new Wearos devices (Tikwatch, Galaxy) work with Polar Beat app? If so, does the Polar Beat app see the watch internal heart rate sensor?
I don't think Polar Beat would pick up the Wear OS watch as a sensor unless you could find an app that broadcasted the heart rate from the watch over bluetooth.
Hi! Really nice review, made me subscribe to your channel :) I’d love to ask you: i’m on the search of a watch that can fulfill 2 different tasks: 1) GPS and altitude for advanced-yet-not-pro hiking (6-10h) with offline maps 2) Navigation in the city while cycling and while riding a motorbike (google maps i guess) Could this be my best chance or should i get the Suunto 7? Yes, but you'll need to find an app that supports external sensors. The native "TicExcersize" app doesn't support sensors. I use an app called "SportyGo" which is compatible with bluetooth heart rate and power sensors.
Great review, thanks. So by the looks it's really not worth the extra $90 (current valentine sale on Ticwatch). It seems to me the only difference other than the case, is the extra heart monitor function and the mental health functions. Would that be about right? Thanks
Great review. Question: what app did you use to tack / compare the running GPS accuracy? I'm looking to find the best gps running app for my new pro 3. thanks.
It certainly can record a hike. However, natively there's no navigation features on the watch. That said, you could download something like "alltrails" from the Play Store for navigation features.
I have found that when I am connected to the phone TicExcercise gives me stupidly wrong data about distance. What about yours? I could use Google fit but I bought TicWatch to use second LCD screen.

Also, at this price point, I could surely score a more capable sport watch with more accurate HR monitoring.
I feel the hardware's been out for a while with the original pro 3 Gps.. Is it worth getting either of these watches now instead of waiting for a new watch from someone with a newer chipset and other new hardware in 2-3 months with built in wear os3?
The Snapdragon 4100 is actually one of the most powerful chips on the market for Wear OS. I'm hopeful TicWatch will update their watches to OS3 soon. I'm sure we'll see more competition come to the market though.
Damn... I got 400 bucks and I was thinking in buying this watch ,but I don't see the difference between ultra and pro . Any thoughts on what good watch to buy ? Looking for the health apps to be accurate.
They're both really good. There's only a few subtle differences between the two. If you're set on a Wear OS watch I'd say the TicWatch Ultra or the Galaxy Watch 4 are good buys. If you're more interested in a fitness watch I'd check out the Garmin Venu 2.
I'm unable to quantify how accurate the sleep data is unfortunately. These aren't medical grade devices but they're nice for getting a little insight into your current health.

Can we download map data/route (after walking or trekking) from watch and view it on Google maps ? Or is there any option to download saved map data from watch in GPX Or XML format ?
It depends on what app you use to track the activity. If you use the built in native app you can sync the activities with Strava and download the GPX file from there.
The display has a backlight....it can be seen in the brightest of sunlight outside. Furthermore, AMOLED display doesn't take a massive amount of battery power to operate as compared to an LCD display.....the only features that are going to bleed out the battery on the watch are the WiFi and GPS functions....if you limit the use of both and connect via BT to your mobile device....the battery will easily last 3 days!
Hi, I just purchased this watch. I tried using maps but lost cell phone service in the mountains, and maps stopped working correctly. The watch is a gps satellite watch, correct? Shouldn't it continue to work? Thank you for any help
I just bought this watch and even after a couple of charge it don't last even 8 hours of charge. Don't know why. I tried not to touch it and the same only 7 hours of charge.
Yes, it could be used in that capacity. Just keep in mind that it's not water resistant to any depth so it's not meant for anything deeper than simply swimming.
Hi excellent review!! which one do you recommend? Garmin Venu 2, or Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS? I'm basically going to use it for walking, running, cycling and listening to music while doing sports. And to be able to keep track of sports activities, I would wear the watch every day. Greetings from Buenos Aires!!!
I'd personally go for the Venu 2. It has a better Heart Rate sensor, more useful wellness tracking like Body Battery, and better sleep analytics. It's also in the excellent garmin ecosystem. The TicWatch is certainly a cool watch though and it's more affordable.
Had fun watching the review as always. I want to like Apple/wear OS watches, but they're such tough sells tbh. Terrible battery life meets no compatibility with external sensors.. and most of em are pretty fragile. I'm thanking my lucky stars for the Fenix 6X sapphire cause without it, I would still be on my Casio G-Shock GG1000. It's not easy to find something that's both durable and long lasting as well as worth jumping to a connected watch. About the only real Fenix competitor is the Vertix 2 if they make the navigation good enough.
Im the opposite. Binned the fenix 6 after seeing it for what it really was. Went back to Apple Watch (titanium model for durability) and couldn’t be happier! Well… I could be happier with better battery life and the fact the Apple Watch looks like a toy lol. I’m not loyal to any brand, just the best device for my needs. I found the fenix optical hr to be dire, that Sony GPS chip terrible and the rest of the metrics way out. For all it’s failings, the Apple Watch is bang on accurate
I wrote to Ticwatch and this is their reply on the deactivated Compass: APAC Amazon (Mobvoi) Nov 25, 2021, 17:02 GMT+8 Hello Roger Thank you for reaching out to the Mobvoi support team! Thank you for your support and understanding. Please feel free to let us know if you have further questions. Best regards, The Mobvoi support team Any reaction what this will do to Navigation or will that still work in your opinion?
The ultra has a customized version of the 4100 optimized my mobvoi. The body clock didn't work very well and their app is terrible. The battery will easily last 2 days with everything on if you don't use the always on display, in hybrid mode.
No comparison (or even mention) to the Suunto 7?? Probably the best WearOS sports/activity watch on the market right now (and one of the best WearOS devices in general). It may be running the older SD3100 SoC, but you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference. easy two day battery life with all sensors turned on. 12-15hrs of continuous GPS tracking. Excellent GPS and HR accuracy. And the star of the show being the Suunto App, which for sports and activity tracking is one of the best.
The Suunto 7 is a solid option for sure. I've got a few videos about it! The price is a tad high and I could never get more than a day out of the battery but it's certainly got a place in the market.
@@ChaseTheSummit cheers man. I've seen your reviews on the S7, great work as always :-) It is a pricey bit of kit, but now it's a bit older it's come down nicely - £295 for the S7 and £290 for the TWP3UGPS (yes the name is very silly) here in the UK, so very comparable. Thanks, yeah this is more of a smartwatch than a dedicated sports watch!
I just think the whole smartwatch fad is passing me by.
Unless it eliminates the need for my phone, I just can't be bothered. lol
Does spo2 all day option work for you?
Yes, but it doesn't take a lot of readings unless you're very still. Also, tends to drain the battery.
google assistant and reminders doesnt work on this watch
I'm a pixel user and cancer survivor. I wonder how accurate the sensors are for not exercising and for sleep.
I'm unable to quantify how accurate the sleep data is unfortunately. These aren't medical grade devices but they're nice for getting a little insight into your current health.
@@ChaseTheSummit Oh I totally agree with you. I was using an apple watch 6 going through chemo. Spent a lot of time in the hospital. The HR and Spo2 data matched the hospitals everytime mine was checked. Apple is so expensive though. I have a pixel phone and looking for a watch that's reasonably accurate. Your video helped and appreciate you taking the time to make it. Thank you.
@@b.rocket same here cancer survivor. Done with my treatments and looking for something as I work to get my strength back. Also a pixel user so looking for compatibility
@@GracieBlackDog I purchased a Forerunner 955 although I'm not an athlete there is so much data to help me. Check it out or the 255. Also praying God keeps you in remission. I'm still having some side effects from my chemo even after a year.
@@b.rocket Thank you. Prayers your side effects lessen. I still have some here also. I purchased the Ultra. There is a Black Friday deal on it for $176.40 tax and shipped.
@@ChaseTheSummitThat's very good. Thanks alot
Yes, but it backlight isn't very bright particularly in direct sunlight... Not in my testing at least.
@@ChaseTheSummit So you cup your hand over it...easy pain and money free solution!
Hi, I just purchased this watch. I tried using maps but lost cell phone service in the mountains, and maps stopped working correctly. The watch is a gps satellite watch, correct? Shouldn't it continue to work? Thank you for any help
TicWatch Pro doesn't have offline maps downloaded to the watch by default. You'll need to find an app on the Google Play store for that.
I just bought this watch and even after a couple of charge it don't last even 8 hours of charge. Don't know why. I tried not to touch it and the same only 7 hours of charge.
Tic watch pro 3 ultra gps, can used open water sport, like triatlhon?
Yes, it could be used in that capacity. Just keep in mind that it's not water resistant to any depth so it's not meant for anything deeper than simply swimming.
@@ChaseTheSummit ow ok.. thx so much.. but if Triatlhon, not diving, just swimming in the sea. so, if u see that, no problem?
Can you download games and can you watch UA-cam on it
games? maybe if they're on the Wear OS store. UA-cam, no .
It's all about finding the right tool for the right job! Thanks for watching.
I wrote to Ticwatch and this is their reply on the deactivated Compass: APAC Amazon (Mobvoi)

Hello Roger
Thank you for reaching out to the Mobvoi support team!
Sorry we have confirmed that there is no compass feature on TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra. It is most likely permanent due to some agreement which can't be released with more details.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Please feel free to let us know if you have further questions.
Best regards,
The Mobvoi support team
Any reaction what this will do to Navigation or will that still work in your opinion?
Interesting! I don't really understand why they'd do that.
Does anyone know the dimensions on that watch?
Both case diameter and lug tip to lug tip.
It's around 45mm diameter and around 13mm thick.
I haven't also seen a huge difference in battery life.
It's pretty similar with a small boost.
The ultra has a customized version of the 4100 optimized my mobvoi. The body clock didn't work very well and their app is terrible. The battery will easily last 2 days with everything on if you don't use the always on display, in hybrid mode.
Thanks for sharing.
The ultra is overclocked. That explains why it's faster.
👍👍
👍
ultra is 2.0 hetz and the other is 1.7 hertz. thats why ultra boots up faster
Ultra its faster thanks of aditional CPUs from ticwatch
Interesting. On paper they have the same Snapdragon 4100 CPU. The ultra certainly feels faster though.
I feel wear os watches are far behind in activity tracking to other brands like garmin, polar, coros...
It really depends what your goal is. The same could be said for the apple watch in terms of sports tracking.
Don't go to swim with watch. Mine didn't survive after swimming in the pool. Just turned off and it is.
Oh bummer!
I've seen your reviews on the S7, great work as always :-)
It is a pricey bit of kit, but now it's a bit older it's come down nicely - £295 for the S7 and £290 for the TWP3UGPS (yes the name is very silly) here in the UK, so very comparable.
I get 48-50 hrs of battery out of mine if not using the gps.
I'm hoping there is a second gen version in the new year that runs on WearOS 3 and has upgraded hardware, as it could be a real killer device in the WearOS world.
Garmin 5X copy 😂 but the tick watch is slow but nice screen and great gps
Is it? I'd say it's pretty different. Thanks for watching!
No one seems to have tested the waterproof rating on these watches. Mine died after ONE use in the pool. POS.
Yikes!
So you lost 180kcal in 1.06miles? :o
Impresive result ;) medical mericale.
Check how it's calculate steps - this is good joke!
Yep, it's a bit generous
