Another great review Mike. In terms of comparisons, I would be interested in seeing what the "Ultra" differences are between the standard Pro 3 and this new Ultra model. I appreciate that's probably less interesting than the comparison you are suggesting. So far as I can see, the only Ultra extras are the colourful Essential Mode screens, the AF heart rate monitoring, the compass and may be the "dual processing" capability of the Snapdragon 4100 chipset. I say "maybe" because I see that Mobvoi also mentions "dual processing" when speaking about the standard Pro 3 model. It seems to me less clear than it should be what the enhanced capabilities and performance benefits are of the Ultra's "dual processing" Snapdragon 4100. The battery life claims made for the Ultra mirror exactly those made for the standard Pro 3. Add to that concern - what noticeably better performance you are really getting from the Ultra - the downgrade in the strap and the extra $50 price tag, I am wondering what the point of this new model is other than as a pretty limited refresh of the 2020 Pro 3 model? A more limited refresh than the AW series 7 is of the AW series 6?
I do not get why this secondary LCD? I have Huawei GT2e, with the last FW update I can finally max out brightness of AOD display and it can still last for several days. It is perfectly visible in direct sunlight and I'm super happy with that.
Huawei GT2e is not considered as a full fledge smartwatch though... It's more like activity tracker with some basic smartwatch functionality (same with fitbits, amazfits, and co.). In general this category have a better battery life. My fitbit versa 2 could get 4-5 days with one charge. Full fledge smartwatch (samsung, ticwatch, fossil, apple watch), however, have more advanced features and consequently more power hungry...

I think the fact that the rotating crown doesn't do anything is a big disappointment, though. If you're not going to have a rotating bezel (and I assume Samsung patented that), the rotating crown is really essential for navigation. I can't stand swiping on the screen with my finger. That's why I'm still using my Galaxy Gear S3 Classic.
After 1 day of moderate usage I've got 34% left. No 24 hrs monitoring, no sleep monitoring... I'm returning it back to Amazon heading today Costco for $245 plus tax for Samsung 44mm... (currently on sale 279 down to to 249)... G. luck to all. An update: once GPS been turned off; after 1 day of light usage, and turning off 4 the night; got 85%. Way better; way what I was thinking when buying it based my choice because of UA-cam reviews... I believe GPS off mostly bring this positive impact, yet to see to what degree the turned off Mobvoi Launcher.
Yep. I get a day of battery life on mine. Sending this overpriced junk back. Plus it won’t stay connected to my phone. Causing it not to work properly half the time. Samsung is way better.
Great review Mike of an almost perfect watch except for @4:15 Argghhh, why Mobvoi, WHY are you so stubborn about adding a rotating crown??? And once again they even put different knurling around the top button to make it look like it does support rotation, and as you say the buttons even rotate but don’t actually do anything. Is the hardware really that expensive or beyond Mobvoi’s technical capability to add to their hardware design? (Of course its not, which makes me that much angrier that they insist on leaving it out). Mobvoi: the rotating crown IS useful and many of your fans and potential sales WANT this alternative navigation function as the screen is not always the best or even preferred method of navigating the UI. This watch is sooooo close to being perfect but like most Wear OS Vendors you insist on leaving something out! I really thought this time they’d include the rotating crown especially given how many people ask for it every new model that doesnt have it. I really dont get why they refuse to include it. Even the cheapest Fossil includes it, and with the gorgeous rotating bezel on the Galaway Watch 4 Classic and even the touch bezel on the regular GW4 you’d think they’d get the point. It really irks me that they put the knurling lines on the buttons, almost like they do that as a big ol Eff You to everyone begging for it, or so if someone sees it in the clear plastic packaging they’ll assume it does include it (deceptive advertising if they do package it in the see thru packaging!). So we’ll see if they include it in the The TicWatch UltraMegaSuperDuperPro since it literally is the only major feature a significant number of potential sales have been asking for since the TW2020 skipped it (but put lines on the top button giving false hope that it was there!). Come on Mobvoi, its beyond silly to keep leaving it out. Give us the perfect watch and watch your sales skyrocket!!!
Thank you for this video. Was hyped when saw the title, after the video - not so much. I can live with plastic body, but at least add a crown or I don't know - wireless charging option.
Like so many, I like the look of the Fossil Gen 6 more, but living on a farm with lots of outdoor "dirty jobs" I am turning more and more towards this one. A bit bulky for my freakishly tiny wrists but I think it will cope with my everyday life better. Why can't someone manufacture a watch with Fossil Gen 6 look, Pro 3 Ultra screen size, and ruggedness combined with Samsung's bezel ring - if it existed for $350 or less it would be perfect... ...and then I woke up 😁
GW4 has a cheap aluminum case prone to scratches and dents. Many Reddit posters are saying to buy a protective case, and a bezel ring to protect the screen.

I was looking at the Fossil Gen 6 devices and Mobvoi's offerings but if they are still running 2, then I'm no longer sure what to do.
@@vakama94 Oh ok. Well Wear OS2 wise i think ticwatch pro 3 ultra is the best, for speed and battery life, but the fossil gen 6 is nice as well. honestly I have a galaxy watch 4 (wear os 3), and i had a ticwatch pro 3 (not ultra, wear os 2). Wear os 3 was supposed to be faster and bring better battery life. It is a tad faster, battery is about the same. If you have to get something now i would go ticwatch pro 3 ultra (or maybe wait 1-6 months for the ticwach pro 5)
Nice improvements. Wake me up when the TicWatch 4 drops. Mobvoi won't be stealing my money..lol
Appreciate the review.
Hope they up the brightness
Still trying to decide between this and the Garmin Venu 2.......I am really torn so would love some help. lol
hi Mike, your review is great..i keep watching all your reviews...it helps a lot on making decisions on what to use..in terms of watches...on this TICWATCH pro 3 ultra, can this be used with an IPHONE??? or partially or not??? please advice, if its good to pair ir with an IPHONE...and will work properly or somehow only...????thank you and stay safe....
I have a pixel 6 pro..Wich one do u recommend me ?
I still use my Galaxy Watch (not the 3) and with a workout every 2 days the battery will last 3,5 - 4 days (AoD of).
So the new Ticwatch will be a great successor to my Galaxy Watch
Yeah the original Galaxy Watch was a battery champ for sure!
Thanks for the review Mike, excellent as always! Indeed, it looks a very interesting choice for Android users. I am really looking forward for the full comparison between the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, Samsung watch 4 and Fossil Gen 6.
What's the difference between the 4100 from Pro 3 and the 4100 from the Ultra?
01:28
What is your wrist size ?
How come you didn't show the lcd backlight?
Does it have Wear OS 3?
Hey man you should really considered doing a video on the new Amazfit GTR 3 Pro
That's not WearOS, so less functionality as companion device, I wouldn't compare
@@OersJ it's ZeppOS but it's still a really good watch with better battery life and it's getting apps like WearOS, still not as advanced as WearOS but man it's really nice hardware
Which 1 is better Ticwatch 3 pro ultra or Huawei Gt 2 pro??
After seeing your review, I take out my ticwatch pro 3 gps from my draw and power it up to see any new software update from mobvoi.
Does the water automatically update to
The new version?
If anyone here has tried the TWP 3 Ultra GPS and Fossil Gen 6 and you had to pick one, which would it be and why? I've had a Gen 6 for a few months and just won a TWP 3 Ultra GPS and am just curious. I will likely end up selling one because I don't need two, but was also thinking of maybe selling both and just getting a Samsung GW4 since it has blood pressure monitoring (there's a hacked version of the app on XDA that enables the Galaxy-only features on non-Galaxy phones) and Wear OS 3.
it depends on what u want in a watch, i think battery is more important than aesthetic or sistem, so i prefer tw3
Will they make a gps-cellular version cause that would be great
I heard LTE version will be available in 1 month time
Its 2024 and its price droped by 3×! I am accualy interesed in buying it from one of people i kinda know. I think its a great watch, perfect battery + Google which i am new. The name also confuses me, but its totaly fine. I would rate it 8.6/10
Doesn't the pro3 have 3 days battery life, back-light for the lcd screen and IP68?
I really wish they brought back the tickle strip from the Ticwatch 2, the less you have to touch the screen to navigate the watch the better.
Honestly, their physical design declined substantially since then. Wireless charging, a steel bezel, and the tickle strip should all still be here :(
@@MikeOBrienMedia If only the GW4 or the Fossil Gen 6 had the dual layer display of TicWatch. 3 day battery life should the norm not an exception. We are so close to that one great wear os watch at least on the hardware front, we just need someone to combine all the right features.
Could you review the amazfit gtr 3 series? (If it retails on us market)
More watches need the rotating bezel with the GW
I think Samsung patented it though... So it would be quite expensive for other manufacturers since they have to pay royalty...
can you sync the health information with google fit?
Which one is better amazfit gtr 3 pro vs garmin forerunner 245 vs tickwatch pro 3 ultra
( I need the watch to be compatible with iPhone and I prefer round watch)
@@eliezerjk90 anything WearOs is going to be power hungry. That's why Huawei went on their own
@@jsteelize not really. They didn't had any choice in that matter. They couldn't have Google services even if they wanted to.
Hi!
Could you please make a review of Garmin Vivoactive 4? I'm trying to see what's different between Vivoactive and Vivomove but am having a hard time.
Thanks!
I thought the Pro 3 Ultra case was made out of stainless steel...
I think the back is made from nylon
Is this watch compatible with the (One Plus 7 T pro Phone) ?
can u do a comparison video between the Ticwatch E3 and Amazefit GTR 2/2e?
I hate the secondary display so much. You can't even rearrange items in secondary display. I prefer the watch goes black. I'll stick with gw4 which is fine. Yes battery life on gw4 is junk.
You kept mentioning the back light for the LCD screen but Never showed it.
Can you compare this with the series 7? 🙏🙂
Stay tuned for MANY videos about the Apple Watch 7 and other comparisons!
I'd consider it if the HR & GNSS worked better. Desfit's review convinced me that it's not which is surprising since it supposedly can access all the positioning systems.
HI in addition to comparing it to the Fossil and Samsung watches can you compare it to the older Tic Watch Pro 3? I currently have the Tic watch Pro 3 want to know is it worth upgrading to this newer version?
The samsung experience is totally different. I wonder how wear os 3 will look like on other smart watches
Can anyone tell me about the haptic motor on this thing? I have the Pro 3 GPS now and the haptic motor feels very cheap.
Hello all I own a ticwatch 4g pro lit is there any update on it ?
Compass on ticwatch 3 ultra ?!
ROFL!!! I laughed so hard when you commented on how dumb Google Assistant's story was! (5:32)
My only question is have they fixed the waterproofing problem? They say IP68 but it can't even go in the shower?
I bought the ticwatch pro 3 and returned it. The software was so glitchy it absolutely sucked!! I'd much rather and have the Huawei gt 2 pro . 2 weeks battery and amazing
Can you call and text on it?
@@WeAsOneRise you can make recieve calls
That's because huawei gt range is a glorified fitness band...
Hi Great channel & videos,
I'm looking for a connected watch that would have the Dive Watch design with a real waterproof capabilities (20 ATM)
I found some ref like the Fossils (FTW4059 but only 3 ATM...)
withings horizon (10 ATM and rather hybrid)
and finally the Casio (GSWH1000-1 20ATM, but rather roughed than dive...)
Any piece of advice about the brand that would match the 2 ?
I feel we're not far from having these kind of design/features coming out, but it seems still a bit early still.
thanks :-)
Enjoying my pro 3. No regrets. Have to chill out on changing faces. Can get addictive. I'm always looking for excuses to use it
Yeah I change watch faces like twice a day haha
Starting to think I was too quick to buy the Watch 4, haha.
Same here. Already looking for a replacement. Wish I kept my active too instead of trading it in
Anything special that is annoying with the watch 4? Trying to work out if I should go for that one or Ticwatch......
@@Andreas_Lindholm it really depends on what you look for in a watch. Health wise and exercise-wise I give it a great d. But as a smartwatch like phone calls and texts and checking your email and calendar I given it a A
@@ahefner33 Ooooh surprise for me that it lacks in health and training! Think Im edging closer to the Tickwatch... not especially for training/health.. but Google assistant.. battery life.. and to be "different" 😄
@@ahefner33 what do you mean by "a great d"...what exactly is bad about it in terms or health and excercise tracking?
7:40 Well there is a big part of your problem, you're using an iPhone with a WearOS device. WearOS devices are far more accurate with Android smartphones and the same thing with the Apple Watch.
Please use timestamps.
This vs the Garmin Venu 2?
I feel like those are very different classes of smartwatches. If you want an everyday smartwatch with good apps and a clean integration with android, choose this. If your main focus is fitness, the Garmin destroys this device 10 times out of 10
Can you send & receive text messages from the watch? Great video by the way!
Yes
Just love the design
Just seems like a bare-minimum refresh, but good value for anyone that doesn't own the Pro 3 already.
Definitely. I think that is why they didn't want to call it the Pro 4. But at the same time, they already used the word Pro last year. Maybe they should have called it the TicWatch Pro 3s
@@MikeOBrienMedia Yeah for sure, that would have been a better name lol. Naming and marketing hype in tech has been getting ridiculous the last few years with the various model lines and more incremental upgrades releasing by companies. It’s like naming a Street Fighter game 😂. Great review btw!,
Great review. :)
It looks like a pretty good watch. With the different sensors, I can't complain much about the price.
Yeah I wish they added a rotating crown or perhaps brought back their touch bar on the side of the watch (I think they called it the tickle strip)
After 1 day of moderate usage I've got 34% left. No 24 hrs monitoring, no sleep monitoring... I think those guys reviewing (not just this channel) are paid by Mobvoi to not saying the truth, or simply Chinese boys have send them with diff batt if they say up to 3 days.. it's my second Tic Watch 3 Ultra, as first one I had to change as from 87% plunged down to 5%... after just 36 hrs... so I know what I'm talking about... to bad, as watch alone is nice piece of 'equipment'.
But does it have LTE
The pro 3 has a backlight
The pro 3 ultra has a coloured backlight
Ip68 is the same
It's practically the same as the pro 3
Is this a stand alone smartwatch??
i dont know why ppl say galaxy watch 4 had bad battery life i got 5 days out of mine
Really? That's good news. Light usage?
Then you are not using it
I barely get through the day with my 46mm
Usage patterns? Settings?
Probably referring to the GW OG. The GW4 needs daily charging when tracking fitness as reported in Reddit.
Great Video Sharing!!! Brian, is there a way to reply WhatsApp?
Can we received phone calls? At the price I don't think it is a LTE.
Like so many, I like the look of the Fossil Gen 6 more, but living on a farm with lots of outdoor "dirty jobs" I am turning more and more towards this one. A bit bulky for my freakishly tiny wrists but I think it will cope with my everyday life better. Why can't someone manufacture a watch with Fossil Gen 6 look, Pro 3 Ultra screen size, and ruggedness combined with Samsung's bezel ring - if it existed for $350 or less it would be perfect...
...and then I woke up 😁
Charging pins...nope. They will get rusty after time. Only wireless charge
I agree. We need to hold all smartwatches to the Qi charging standard.
love this watch
Waiting for Surface Pro 8 vs iPad Pro comparison

It's obvious Samsung will crush the competition with the Galaxy Watch 4 as Google will not release Wear OS 3 to other competitors.
But Google has explicitly announced WearOS 3 will be coming to some Fossil and Ticwatch watches lol... What are you talking about?
GW4 has a cheap aluminum case prone to scratches and dents. Many Reddit posters are saying to buy a protective case, and a bezel ring to protect the screen.
I'm confused, so this isn't the 4100 Plus??
It looks like it isn't. There's no mention of it being so on Mobvoi's product page.
Finally and officially NOT
