Of course it was to bother him, you can tell. Although seeing it in this after so many years it definitely clicked for the first time that it was making fun of the ride.
Actor Sterling Holloway is a magnificent snake Kaa in The Jungle Book as well as the original voice of Winnie the Pooh. Plus the voice of The Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland and Roquefort in The Aristocats. He definitely deserves to be on the list.
Not really Jim cumminga has had the role of winnie the pooh and tigger for 30+ years and voiced the Cheshire cat, Kaa and way more than sterling plus he was the singing voice for scar in lion King and for Phil in hercules. If anyone should have been mentioned it's Jim Cummings
Thanks for mentioning this. There were no voice actors mentioned from Disney movies made before the 80’s. I like to mention Phill Harris as Baloo from Jungle Book - and Thomas ‘O Mally from The Aristocats- too, and the woman who voiced Cruella de Vil in 101 dalmatians also did an outstanding job.
Jeremy Irons voice is just PERFECT for a villain! Just like James Woods IS Hades! Everyone know who #1 was going to be even before they started the list but yeah they are correct! That movie is what pops into my head when I think of Robin Williams then Mrs. Doubtfire haha
I had no idea Jerry Orbach voiced Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. I knew he was a spectacular actor, but this revelation just put him a totally different category of actor, as I would have never thought he was the actor behind that voice. WOW!!! AMAZING!!!
Two more from "Beauty and the Beast" that really need to be remembered were the late but wonderful David Ogden Stiers as Cogsworth, and my teen heartthrob, Robby Benson as the Beast. Both were absolutely awesome! The entire cast was!!
I really love James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Jeremy Irons as Scar, even though Robin Williams as Genie is like a champion when it comes to Voice Acting. 2 other Voice Actors I think that should also appear on the list is also Jason Marsden as Kovu and Lacey Chabert as Vitani.
@@emanuelleaubin6197 Yes she was. She did Vitani as a Cub in "The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride" while Jennifer Lien did Vitani as an adult. But because Jennifer Lien retired from acting some time after the birth of her son, the role of Vitani both as a cub and an adult has been given over to Lacey Chabert starting from then on starting with The Lion Guard TV Show and so on.
He's also the voice of Haku from Spirited Away, which makes it even more amusing when you realize Zira has the same voice as Yubaba, the witch who controls Haku, very much like Zira controlled Kovu
I thought that when Harry Potter and the Cursed Child comes as a film I imagined Jeremy Irons do Professor Snape if anybody has seen the stage play. I saw it in London.
Why isn’t Tony jay on this list as Claude Frollo. His performance as Frollo was legendary! His deep and haunting voice gave life to Frollo and he also voiced some other characters. Frollo wouldn’t be the same without him.He should have been here. You’ll be missed Tony Jay.
I was looking for a comment like this and glad I found it. The man is a legend. He voices so many characters from my childhood, he has range and a powerful singing voice. Truly underrated. 😩
#10 - I choose to believe that Tony did, in fact, provide Tarzan's iconic yell. In my opinion, Jeremy Irons should be in the #2 spot. And I'm still convinced that he should have been the one to provide the voice of Scar in the remake. His replacement simply couldn't pull it off.
Unfortunately Jeremy was not invited back by disney to reprise his role as scar for whatever reason. I love Earl Jones but in the remake it sounded like he was just reading his script, not putting alot of emotions behind his words. I was a bit disappointed in the remake but Timone and Pumbaa kept me entertained.
Sorry, but Tarzan's yell was in fact provided by Tony's co-star, Brian Blessed, who voiced the villain Clayton. Blessed was leaving the recording studio one afternoon after voicing his own lines, when he overheard poor Tony becoming hoarse with trying and failing to do the Tarzan yell in his own recording session next door. Blessed offered to give it a try himself, and the resulting yell was so good that Disney kept it in the movie. I guess all those decades of projecting his voice right to the back of the theatre in Shakespearean plays paid off.
He made it cool for A list celebrities to voice animated characters if it wasn’t for him Mike Myers probably wouldn’t have voiced Shrek and Jack Black probably wouldn’t have voiced Po
James earl jones, Eartha kit, Eddie Murphy, and robin William❤️. Eddie Murphy as mushu is iconic. One of the few reasons the live action came up short. Eartha kit and James earl Jones voices are so iconic. No one has voices like them. Robin Williams will always have a special place in my heart. All four of them are legends in my eyes.
Jeremy Irons strained his vocal cords during "Be Prepared" with the line "You won't get a sniff without me!", so Jim Cummings, voice of Ed the hyena, took over from there. If you listen closely, you can actually tell it's someone else singing the rest of the song. After finding out, all I could hear was Darkwing Duck.
The Emperor’s New Groove & The Lion King both had a lot of great, legend actors with lots of memorable lines, but Robin Williams will always be my #1 fav with lots of impressions and ad libbing. ❤️ I miss him everyday. It’s just way too soon that he’s no longer with us. 😔

I have to say this line-up of voice-over actors were absolutely amazing dynamic and brought each and every character to life. My favorites are and forever will be James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Robin Williams as Genie
I'm going to mention Robby Benson as The Beast. Back in the 70s and 80s he was extremely popular and I'm surprised that he wasnt mentioned, since his natural speaking voice sounds nothing like his character. He did an amazing job portraying the Beast.
My favorite Disney Voice Performances include James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Robby Benson as the Beast, Jeremy Irons as Scar, Robin Williams as Genie, Matthew Broderick as Simba,Vincent Price as Professor Rattigan, Eva Gabor as Miss Bianca, Verna Felton (The Fairy Godmother, Flora, Aunt Sarah, and The Queen of Hearts), Eleanor Audley (Maleficent and Lady Tremaine), and Hans Confried as Captain Hook. Also, Gilbert Gottfried as Iago
Robby Benson was amazing and I'm surprised that he wasnt mentioned. His natural voice sound nothing like The Beast, which goes to show how good he was.
When Jeremy Irons did the line of the song "You won't get a sniff without me" He actually completely destroyed his voice and had to take time off to let it repair. They had to get someone else to finish the song so it would be done on time.
@@fleurdebelle82 Yup, the legendary Jim Cummings. I had always wondered why Scar sounded so much more maniacal towards the end of the song. That was it. And it's in the way he pronounces words - "Be prepared for the murkiest scam." Yeah, that's definitely Jim Cummings.
I’d say Susan Egan as Megara in Hercules is great and my favorite. She adds the right sassiness to the character, and Meg’s deffo not your average Disney princess there. 💁🏼♀️ I’m glad that Hades made it to the list, he’s honestly one of my favorite, if not even favorite Disney villain! ♥️
Also, it’s a downright shame Disney never got (as far as I can remember) to hire Alan Rickman. No matter the role (protagonist, sidekick, villain, etc.), his performance would’ve almost certainly become as iconic as Robin Williams’.
@@grassj6002 That doesn’t count at all as that Alice in Wonderland is not an animated movie (there are some fully cgi/digital characters in it, but it’s not an animated full feature film).
I read once in an interview that Vincent Price made not long before his passing, that of all the characters he portrayed in his long career, his absolute top-favourite of all was Professor Ratigan. The reason being twofold: One, he loved doing voice-over anyway, since he could take it as far as he wanted as an actor, and go into directions that he might not otherwise be able or comfortable to do in a live-action film; he _loved_ being able to just really lay it on as thick as he wanted, that there really was no 'going over the top.' And with Ratigan, he was free to just really pull out all the stops & go as far as he wanted, which was a great freedom for an actor to enjoy. He said he also liked the character's psychological makeup: On the surface, Ratigan put up this facade of being polished & sophisticated & debonair, but underneath it all, he was still basically a slimy sewer-rat (as he ultimately reveals by the end, revealing his inner, bestial nature.) Throughout the film, Ratigan is constantly repressing this inner 'bestial' nature (revealed by him constantly massaging his temples every time he _almost_ loses his temper before repressing it) until finally all that repressed animal rage breaks through to the surface during the climactic fight on Big Ben. Price said he really loved that 'dual' aspect of the character, said he personally felt it had some interesting & noteworthy parallels to the human species as well. And, while not mentioned in this video, but in my opinion Honourable Mention should be made of the late, great George C. Scott as the voice of the evil poacher McLeach in "The Rescuers Down Under." In many ways, his portrayal of the character was the high point of an otherwise mostly mediocre movie (though it did have some brilliant animation in it.) Watching the movie & listening to his performance, it's really obvious that Scott put everything he had into it, really had a ball doing it and in more than one scene, you can tell the animators studied Scott very closely in animating the character (the scene where he's trying to keep some eggs away from his pet goanna Joanna, is priceless! You forget you're watching an animated character & you feel like you're actually watching Scott himself playing the part!)
Cree summers should have been on this list. I loved when Cree played Kida from the Lost City of Atlantis. But for the most part this list was definitely on point.
Scar scared me, and the Genie made me laugh hysterically. Tony Jay was equally scary as Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and as Shere Khan in Tale Spin.
Tony Goldwyn done a brilliant job voicing Tarzan & I was surprised to find out years later, that Tony was the bad guy in Ghost, where I also felt he done a brilliant job
I didn't realize that some of these actors/actresses did these voices! It's cool to have a face to go with my favorite characters. Also, Kronk got his own movie and it is just as much fun!
My top 10 FAVORITES are… 1. Robin Williams as The Genie 2. Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts 3. Jerry Orbach as Lumeire 4, Jodi Benson as Ariel 5. Patrick Warburton as Kronk 6. Pat Carroll as Ursula 7. David Spade as Kuzco 8. Danny Devito as Phil ( he is also good as The Lorax) 9. Idina Menzel as Elsa 10. Mandy Moore as Rapunzel
I knew full well that Robin would be number one, as deserved. He was the first top actor to make an animated movie something special, and his struggle with his role as genie is something I highly recommend people look into! Aladdin will forever be my favourite Disney movie, and that's thanks to him.
Jeremy Irons was perfect as Scar! I love Chiwetel Ejiofor and he probably could have worked in the 2019 version but when he wasn't making Scar sound emo, he got a little yelly in places like the stampede scene where tells Mufasa "Long live the king." Before pushing him (or in 2019 punching) off the cliff. Jeremy Irons made Scar just so charming, delightfully evil and bone-chilling.
Agreed. Not only because she was authentic, but because she actually improvised a lot of Jane's dialogue. Basically, she threw out Disney's original stereotypical damsel-in-distress and made up her own Jane. And we LOVED it!
Well, not always, since Dan Castelleneta and Will Smith (as well as everyone who's played him in the theater versions) have also played the role, but Williams was undoubtedly the best at it.
🔥Mufasa, Scar, Ursula,Hades and Yzma have the most hypnotic voices And they are all iconic. I watch the movies again and again just to see and hear them. Can't wait for The Little Mermaid live remake. ❤️Ms Mojo and Watch Mojo
I guess when making a list like this, 20 isn't enough. I think Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, and Idris Elba as Bogo should have at least gotten honorable mentions!
One of the things I love about MsMojo is I learn something new each time I click on a video to watch. I would never have guessed that Jerry Orbach did the voice of Lumiere. I liked him in Dirty Dancing and Law and Order. He was a fantastic actor!
I loved James Wood as Hades! I can clearly hear his voice in my head if I just see a picture of Hades: "Baboom. Name is Hades, lord of the dead, hi, howya doin'?" I’d add some of my favourites that weren’t mentioned: 1) Sarah Silverman as Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph. 2) Phyllis Smith from the Disney/Pixar film Inside Out. 3) Both Pain and Panic from Hercules were great (voiced by B. Goldthwait and M. Frewer). 4) Whoopi Goldberg in the Lion King.
Fantastic list! And definitely not surprised to see Robin Williams at number one! 😁Though slightly surprised not to see the iconic voice of George Sanders as Shere Khan from "Jungle Book" or Peter Ustinov as Prince John from "Robin Hood" mentioned! Both fabulous on-camera actors who gave very memorable performances as classic Disney villains.
Keith David. Such a massive body of work. He was Dr. Facilier, Goliath in Gargoylrs, Mr. Pig in Timon and Pumba... not to mention all the video games! Surprised he wasn't on this list.
Something really cool about Robyn Williams that I learned is that the first scene in Aladdin where he’s trying to sell you stuff? Yeah that was all improvised on the spot. Also Kronk and Yzma? ICONIC duo right there
It's amazing that you can only pick 20. I find it hard to pick a favorite, though I do love Robin Williams! There is also Tony Jay as Frollo from Hunchback. Kevin Kline as Phoebus, also in Hunchback. David Ogden Stiers as Cogsworth, Gov. Radcliffe, and etc. Michael J. Fox as Milo Thatch in Atlantis. Mel Gibson as John Smith in Pocahontas. The list could go on!

That film is criminally underrated

@@swedishmake-upgeek5650 You're right, it's John Goodman, I just loved this movie so much, it had me and my kids laughing so much when it came out. This entire video is a JOY!!!!! I was smiling and gleeful the entire time. Thanks MsMojo! 🤗🤗🤗
Seriously? The earliest movie you include is "The Great Mouse Detective"? What about all the fantastic performances from before 1986?
- Betty Lou Gerson as Cruella DeVil in "101 Dalmatians" (this character is beyond legendary)
- Cliff Edwards as Jiminy Cricket in "Pinocchio" (he sings "When you wish upon a star", the unofficial Disney theme song for heaven's sake!)
- Geraldine Page as Madame Medusa in "The Rescuers"
- Peter Ustinov as Prince John in "Robin Hood"
- George Sanders as Shere Khan in "The Jungle Book"
- Eleanor Audley as Maleficent in "Sleeping Beauty" and Lady Tremaine in "Cinderella"
- Adriana Caselotti as Snow White in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (the original Disney princess)
- Phil Harris as Baloo in "The Jungle Book"
- John Hurt as The Horned King in "The Black Cauldron" (yes, the movie was a financial flop, but this is a magnetic performance)
- Bing Crosby as the Narrator, Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones in "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad"
- Terry-Thomas as Sir Hiss in "Robin Hood"
Great list!
Agreed
Vincent Price trumps all those clowns
It’s Vincent Price though
Are these guys better than the Ms Mojo list? If not then they just deserve an honorable mention because after all it's only top 20.
I loved The Rescuers with Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor, they were just perfect. Also Sebastián Cabot as Bagheera in The Jungle Book.
I now get the feeling Zazu deliberately chose "It's a Small World" just to piss Scar off. XD
disney making fun of disney. it’s beautiful.
I saw the play in 2015 with the touring production, and when it came to that scene Zazu sang “Let It Go”. Hilarious and super fitting for the scene
@@JulieDelahooke there was a show in Texas where the actor started "The Stars at Night are big and Bright." Crowd quickly agreed with Scar
There's just no way that wasn't on purpose
I’m old enough to remember Sterling Holloway acting in the original, black and white “Superman” TV series... Loved George Reeves as Superman!!

There's a lot of great voice actors who gave so much into their characters. They definitely have to make another part(s) for this countdown.
The Rock as Maui, Eddie Murphy as Mushu, Nathan Lane as Timon, and Robin Williams as Genie will always be the best in my opinion
um...James Earl Jones as Mufasa? (And Darth Vader now that SW is also part of Disney XD)
So we're gonna act like James Earl Jones doesn't exist? His voice just sounds regal.
Yes they are very talented actors and prayers for Robin Williams may he rest in peace.🙏🙏

Jeremy Irons voice is just PERFECT for a villain! Just like James Woods IS Hades! Everyone know who #1 was going to be even before they started the list but yeah they are correct! That movie is what pops into my head when I think of Robin Williams then Mrs. Doubtfire haha
Or let's go back to his early days in Mork and Mindy.
Jeremy Irons as Scar and Robin Williams as the Genie will always be my 2 favorite Disney voice actors ever.
10000% agreeing!!!!
I had no idea Jerry Orbach voiced Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. I knew he was a spectacular actor, but this revelation just put him a totally different category of actor, as I would have never thought he was the actor behind that voice. WOW!!! AMAZING!!!
Rowan Atkinson as Zazu was chef's kiss ! An excellent voice casting 👌
Two more from "Beauty and the Beast" that really need to be remembered were the late but wonderful David Ogden Stiers as Cogsworth, and my teen heartthrob, Robby Benson as the Beast. Both were absolutely awesome! The entire cast was!!
How good was David Ogden Steird in Pocahontas. How many voices did he do?
I really love James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Jeremy Irons as Scar, even though Robin Williams as Genie is like a champion when it comes to Voice Acting. 2 other Voice Actors I think that should also appear on the list is also Jason Marsden as Kovu and Lacey Chabert as Vitani.
James Earl Jones has a bombastic yet majestic and elegant voice that is really fit for a King😍😍😍
Lacey was vitani? She’s my favourite character she did such a good job
I know. He, James Iron and Alan Rickman have similar voices too.
Tony Jay should’ve been included. His voice is iconic.
I was looking for a comment like this and glad I found it. The man is a legend. He voices so many characters from my childhood, he has range and a powerful singing voice. Truly underrated. 😩
@@ri-rid4607 right!
Nahh James earl Jones deserves that number 2 spot. Jeremy at number 3 is right.
Brian Blessed provided the yell not Tony
Seth Rogen ruined Pumbaa.
Fun fact: Jim Cummings sang the ending part of "Be Prepared" because Jeremy Irons voice gave out. I think that's earning of an honorable mention :)
No surprise that Robin Williams as ‘Genie’ is #1! And he deserves to be!! Robin Williams will always have a place in my heart!

Eartha Kitt's Ezma is my absolute favorite!!!

Jeremy Irons is tied for 2nd place with JEJ for me. Both were incredible, both deserve it.
Jeremy Irons strained his vocal cords during "Be Prepared" with the line "You won't get a sniff without me!", so Jim Cummings, voice of Ed the hyena, took over from there. My favorites are and forever will be James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Robin Williams as Genie
There was no way Robin Williams wouldn't be number one. His performance is legendary, and so beloved.
I'm going to mention Robby Benson as The Beast. Back in the 70s and 80s he was extremely popular and I'm surprised that he wasnt mentioned, since his natural speaking voice sounds nothing like his character. He did an amazing job portraying the Beast.
Beast should absolutely be on this list! They need to do another one!
He has such a gentle speaking voice in real life; it always surprises me whenever I watch the movie that he voices The Beast.

Also, Gilbert Gottfried as Iago
Robby Benson was amazing and I'm surprised that he wasnt mentioned. His natural voice sound nothing like The Beast, which goes to show how good he was.
John Leguizamo as Sid in Ice Age was also perfect IMO.
@@krisstiebee9688 well, they slightly pitched it down when he was beast but when he's the prince, it's his real and unedited voice
When Jeremy Irons did the line of the song "You won't get a sniff without me" He actually completely destroyed his voice and had to take time off to let it repair. They had to get someone else to finish the song so it would be done on time.
It was Jim Cummings, who, also, provided the voice for Ed.
Rest In Peace Robin Williams.
So pleased to know that Robin Williams will never be forgotten, Genie is his most iconic role. Rest in peace Robin.
I’d say Susan Egan as Megara in Hercules is great and my favorite. She adds the right sassiness to the character, and Meg’s deffo not your average Disney princess there. 💁🏼♀️
I’m glad that Hades made it to the list, he’s honestly one of my favorite, if not even favorite Disney villain! ♥️
Jerry Orbach is dearly missed, I admired his performance as Lumiere and Lumiere was among my favorite characters.

Robin Williams no doubt was a perfect genie. I also loved Gilbert Gottfried as Iago. He was perfect that role. Classic.
I agree 👍💯
Also, it’s a downright shame Disney never got (as far as I can remember) to hire Alan Rickman. No matter the role (protagonist, sidekick, villain, etc.), his performance would’ve almost certainly become as iconic as Robin Williams’.
Can you imagine Alan Rickman voicing Scar?
@@heatherduncan5101 Yeah, definitely. Rickman’s actually the only alternative I can imagine to Jeremy Irons for Scar. 💖
He _was_ the caterpillar in the live action Alice In Wonderland, but that barely counts, tbf
@@grassj6002 That doesn’t count at all as that Alice in Wonderland is not an animated movie (there are some fully cgi/digital characters in it, but it’s not an animated full feature film).
Just add an extra watch of Robin Hood... not Disney, but it gives a pretty pure Rickman. "It'll hurt more."
Now THIS list, you all nailed👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾👌🏾💯
Yay! Thank you!
Cree summers should have been on this list. I loved when Cree played Kida from the Lost City of Atlantis. But for the most part this list was definitely on point.
Tom Hanks for Woody in Toy Story and Billy Joel for Dodger in Oliver and Company did amazing in their roles as well.
Billy Joel Was Great As Dodger in His First Ever Acting Role As a Music Singer!
YESSS!
Toy Story is Pixar and this video is only about Disney animated movies
Scar scared me, and the Genie made me laugh hysterically. Tony Jay was equally scary as Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and as Shere Khan in Tale Spin.
Angela Lansbury, Pat Caroll, Gilbert Gotfried, Eartha Kitt, Jerry Orbach; they'll be dearly missed
Danny DeVito's performance as Phil was TWO WORDS! Legen! Dary!
My top 10 FAVORITES are…
1. Robin Williams as The Genie
2. Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts
3. Jerry Orbach as Lumeire
4, Jodi Benson as Ariel
5. Patrick Warburton as Kronk
6. Pat Carroll as Ursula
7. David Spade as Kuzco
8. Danny Devito as Phil ( he is also good as The Lorax)
9. Idina Menzel as Elsa
Angela Lansbury was also the Dowager Empress in Anastasia, which is also now a part of Disney.
I think Minnie Driver as Jane in Tarzan deserves to be mentioned if we’re going on the sense of authenticity. Cause she IS perfect.
Agreed. Not only because she was authentic, but because she actually improvised a lot of Jane's dialogue. Basically, she threw out Disney's original stereotypical damsel-in-distress and made up her own Jane. And we LOVED it!
Robin Williams ad-libbed so many of his lines, Aladdin was denied the award for best adapted screenplay. Who else can boast that? RIP
Robin Williams was n will always be the Genie.
Similarly, James Earl Jones and Jeremy Irons were made for Mufasa n Scar
Well, not always, since Dan Castelleneta and Will Smith (as well as everyone who's played him in the theater versions) have also played the role, but Williams was undoubtedly the best at it.
Ah Jeremy Irons, the man deserves so much more love but of course Scar was in the top three of this list.

Very good! 😊. I agree with all of them. These series are some if my favorites.
Name is Hades, lord of the dead, hi, howya doin'?"
I’d add some of my favourites that weren’t mentioned:
1) Sarah Silverman as Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph.
2) Phyllis Smith from the Disney/Pixar film Inside Out.
3) Both Pain and Panic from Hercules were great (voiced by B. Goldthwait and M. Frewer).
4) Whoopi Goldberg in the Lion King.
5) Cheech Marin in the Lion King
