The lack of Michelle Pfeiffer on this list is unforgivable. Not only did she do all of her own singing as Susie Diamond in The Fabulous Baker Boys (one of the greatest acting performances of the 1980s/90s), but she was also offered a professional recording contract, which she turned down. Her rendition of "Makin Whoopee" in the film is one of the most famous movie scenes of all time. She's also sung in Grease 2, The Prince of Egypt, and Hairspray, and recorded a song for Murder on the Orient Express at Kenneth Branagh's insistence.

@@sarashaker6147 I loved it when he played as Doc Holiday on Tombstone and Captain Scull on Comanche Moon. Great actor! I will definitely check out his songs.
Probably because Mandy Patinkin was already well-known as a singer on stage before he became famous as a film actor. The fact that he could sing in films wasn't exactly a surprise to audiences, as it was with most of the other actors on here.
The first time I saw Wilson on screen was Phantom. Didn’t know a thing about him and was entranced by his voice…on the other hand my crush Butler was hacking it up over there.
Meryl Streep! When I saw her do Postcards from the Edge, and heard her sing I'm like why isn't she doing more? I was so excited when she showed off her singing chops in Mamma Mia and then Into the Woods etc.
Ooh, really? I thought she sang enthusiastically in Mama Mia, but... Ouch. I couldn't figure out if she was a good singer acting a bad one, or a naturally bad singer doing a surprisingly good job. She wasn't the worst singer on Mama Mia, but I couldn't finish the film.
This isn't top 20 actors who can sing. It's top 20 actors that surprisingly can sing. Meryl Streep isn't a surprise, lol. She has been in several singing movies
Wow I had NO idea Jeremy Renner could sing like that; those two song clips were so good!! Also a fantastic actor- I loved him in The Bourne Legacy with Rachel Weisz. I hope he is healing quickly and safely from his recent accident in Lake Tahoe.
Meryl Streep. Her vocal performance in "Postcards from the Edge" blew my mind. And, quite rightly, "Postcards...." writer and actress the late, great Carrie Fisher.
Kelsey Gramer, Jason Alexander, F. Murray Abraham, Jane Kregowski, all have incredible voices. They all started in musical theater. Another actor with an incredible voice Mel Gibson. He sang as John Smith in Pocahontas.
Hugh Jackman was my favorite he was Wolverine in the X-man series but he really really got a taste of his singing chomps in as Curley in Oklahoma, Jean ValJean in Les Miserable, and P.T Barnum in The Greatest Showman, and he was the boy from oz in The Boy From Oz. Hugh Jackman can basically do everything
After watching Tick, Tick, BOOM!, I would say Mr. Andrew Garfield, who learned to play the piano and had singing lessons to make this film, is amazing! And after listening/watching him, you might think acting could be his second calling after music.
Luke Evans and Jessie Buckley sang beautifully in the 2022 Netflix animated movie Scrooge. I had the song Later Never Comes stuck in my head for weeks! I already knew Luke could sing, from his role as Gaston in Beauty & the Beast, but he really blew me away with this one 🥰
I know it's a very unpopular opinion but I absolutely love Gerard Butler as the Phantom in Phantom of the opera. Trust me I love Ramin Karimloo and Jonathan Roxmouth, but I think for the movie he was practically perfect for the role in my opinion.
You’re not alone! I think he was the best of them all! But that’s probably because I’m not a true fan of the true “opera” singing. The real opera sounds very strangled to me, whereas Gerard’s portrayal sounded very clear and soft and powerful.
I love him too because I've always thought Erik is a bit of a tortured, rock star soul this even after seeing Jonathan Roxmouth twice in Phantom of the Opera.
I'm incredibly happy that you included Jensen Ackles. So many lists and channels often forget about or decide not to include this multi-talented man. #SPNFamily4LIFE
I’m so glad Jensen Ackles made this list. His voice is phenomenal! I really wish Ryan Reynolds had made this list cause he actually has a really nice voice.
His version of Whipping Post is the best thing that ever happened on this earth. But… Dean CAN’T Sing!!! I love that we got to hear him sing, but it’s canon that he can’t. Lol
@@annieguadarrama3118 Yes, Dean the character can’t sing, but the actor Jensen Ackles CAN sing and he sings amazingly. It’s very easy to act like you sing badly, anybody can do it. Look up Jensen Ackles singing and your ovaries will burst lol
Tom Hiddleston singing in Norwegian was something I didn't know I needed. Also, how tf did Taron Egerton not make this list?? He played Elton John in Rocketman and the gorilla in Sing!
@@coco2.2 I get what you're trying to say here but a few of the people on this list also portrayed singers in movies so that kind of defeats the purpose of what you're trying to say.
Here's a few others: .Jason Segel (for singing in The Muppets (2011)) .Taron Egerton (Sing, Rocketman and the upcoming Little Shop of Horrors) .Andrew Garfield (play Jonathan Larson and sang in Tick Tick Boom) .Tom Hanks (singing in Toy Story 2 and The Polar Express) .Dwayne Johnson (Maui in Moana) .Emily Blunt (Into the Woods, My Little Pony: The Movie (2017), Mary Poppins Returns) .Daniel Radcliffe (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying revival) And boy there's so many others to say.
It's incredible, I feel like most professional actors started voice training really young so they have the upper hand. I just don't know why they hide it, if I could sing well I'd never shut up 😂
You forgot the Honorable mentions like Johnny Depp, Kevin Spacey, Billy Boyd, Jackie Chan, Jason Segal, Ryan Gosling, Nicole Kidman, or Joseph Gordon Levitt!
I mentioned Nicole Kidman too in another comment. Her Moulin Rouge costar Ewan McGregor can also sing and has done so in a few movies. Completely forgot JGL, he has a nice voice and his face lights up when he sings but I feel like it lacks some power. Ludacris was fist a rapper who then started acting though only recently has he become a "good" actor, those first Law & Order episodes with him were painful to watch. There is also Alan Thicke who is good but how on Earth could they forget to mention the talents of Henry Connick Jr, the dude is a classy act and sings like a superstar. It would have been good if they had defined the criteria since in Hollywood and especially in theater, a lot of actors sing and dance. Oh there is also J-Lo though IMO she isn't very good at singing, acting or dancing.
That’s your opinion there’s a lot of good singers that are actors loud actors are singers that I think they cannot her album is top 20 not a big deal zero for the ones you think I should be on there
What about Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones, John C. Reilly and Renee Zellweger? No one knew any of them could sing and dance until Chicago....and Bradley Cooper, Johnny Depp, Imelda Staunton and many others. Time for an additional list.....
How could they not mention that Hugh Laurie played and sang contemporary songs as Bertie Wooster?! Him and Stephen as Jeeves trying a duet is hilarious. Mainly because Stephen is speaking!
Why in the world didn’t Amanda Seyfried make the list. She is one of the genuinely great singers in Hollywood. She played Cosette in Les Miz which is an impressive feat as the role requires singing in soprano constantly. Also her work in Mama Mia was superb. Her renditions of ABBA’s classic songs Lay All Your Love On me and I have a dream we’re exceptional!
I'm hugely disappointed that Brittany Murphy isn't on this list... She had a beautiful voice and a beautiful spirit about her... Hopefully you won't forget her on the next one... 🥺
Jennifer Lawrence! She has a beautiful voice, taking everyone by surprise in "The Hunger Games." Melissa Benoist is remarkable. She sang as Carole King as she played piano in the show memorialising King.
I'm surprised Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Rob Benedict (God - Supernatural), or Michael C Hall (Dexter) are not in this; but then again there are so many excellent singers who act as well.
Even more so since here the main character's pipes were surprise not just for the audience but also for the show creators who significantly revamped the concept after finding that past filming first several episodes.
Emily Deschanel, John Goodman, Brent Spiner, Christian Kane, Elyes Gabel, Stephen Colbert . I remember being wowed by Zachery Levy when I heard him sing the first time. Who knew Chuck had such a great voice?!
I lived Hiddleston playing Hank Williams.... That's a hard roll and the way that completely nailed everything about it, even every little bit of Hank's body language really got me. I'm a HUGE fan of Johnny Horton and Hank I & II (don't care for the grandson but my husband does).
Surprised to hear about Val Kilmer. I didn’t know he had throat cancer. It seems like a lot of British actor’s love country music and most that I see in movies really nail that southern accent. Really liked Jeremy Renner’s voice and music.
This list blew my mind. How can these people be that good looking, act AND sing that well. Not fair! Chris Pine has such a lovely voice. And Colin Ferrel doing country? Sooo good. And Seth MacFarlane is just “chef kiss”
I wish Brittany Murphy had been on this list. She had one of The Most incredible voices ever! She sang in Happy Feet hitting beautiful high notes as well. Wish we had more of her singing 😪 R.I.P.
I loved how she sang Carly Simon in the suspense movie she did I think it was called "I'll never tell" or that was just the famous line she said in it but loved her simplistic version of the song very soft while show casing and exceptional and unique singing voice. Rip
omg!!! I just commented on him as well!!!! I do like Jeremy Renner’s rustic rocker voice but James marsden…..is surely #1 for me for an actor who can SING SOOOO GOOOOD!!!! 💚💚💚☘️☘️☘️💫💫💫🌿🌿😊
Jarod Leto is an incredible singer. His band is 30 Seconds to Mars. Check out some of his songs. Beautiful lie, The killing (Bury Me), Attack, Was It a Dream are some of their songs. Jarod Leto also writes all their songs.
Was looking for someone to bring him up! Thank you!! He is gorgeous and the band also has his brother too. One of my fave bands and all songs you suggested are on my main playlist. Such a legend ❤
The most surprising voice I ever heard came from John C. Reilly in Chicago. I have enjoyed his appearances in movies before but never knew he could sing so well.
I agree John C Reilly was phenomenal & he literally had me in tears bc I believed him Playing his part & feeling his pain. I play clarinet so maybe I internalize a bit too much. Lol. He was awesome tho.
@@nichellerodriguez1524there are a lot of actors missing here. Steve Martin has few Grammies mostly as a banjo player but singer too and this list never ends

I ❤️ Katey Sagal too. ALWAYS have! Every TV show. I was SOO excited about her TV show Rebel! WTF happened? I loved that show but evidently ALOT of people couldn't grasp the concept of it 🙄 She deserves to be on something else besides a recurring role as Dan's new wife on the Conner's. She's WAY too talented to settle for THAT!!!
This should have a sequel. Keanu Reeves & Johnny Depp had their respective bands. Also, Ewan McGreggor, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zelwegger, Catherine Zeta Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Gwyneth Paltrow & Tom Cruise
I just saw Keanu on tour with Dogstar his band. He doesn't sing. He plays the bass guitar. He doesn't even have a microphone. But he does really enjoy playing playing music.
Honorable mentions to add some color to your list: Tia Mowry-Hardict, Tamera Mowry, Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatiana Ali, Countess Vaugh, Tichina Arnold, Tisha Campbell, Jackee Harry
I think Alfonso Ribeiro started in musical theater. When I was a kid, his dancing was legendary. His first time on TV was in a commercial for Pepsi with Michael Jackson. He said dancing with him was a dream come true.
Jeremy Renner definitely deserved to be #1 on this list. I freaking love his music and listen to it daily. My favorite is Main Attraction but I also like Just My Type, Sippy Cup, Love is a War ... they're all so good!
I was so surprised when one of his songs popped up as a recommendation on spotify. Had to google to double check that was the same Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Absolutely love Main Attraction and Heaven don't have a name
There’s also Johnny Depp when he did Sweeney Todd, which he got an Oscar nomination for his role, and Into the Woods before he later on became a musician and is part of the Hollywood Vampires.
RDJ sang in the TV show "Ally McBeal," which is where I learned he could sing, as well as in the film Heart and Souls. He sang "I'll Be Watching You" in "Ally McBeal," and, if I remember correctly, that's how he received the invite to sing with Sting.
Fun list. A fun fact about Catherine O'Hara: her sister Mary-Margaret is a musician. She only has released a few things, but her album "Miss America" is worth seeking out.
@@regstacks How about her SCTV castm8 Dave "Doug McKenzie" Thomas? He & Rick "Bob McKenzie" Moranis collaber8d w/Geddy Lee (Rush) on a song called "Take Off". Another thing; The McKenzie Brothers (Rick "Bob" Moranis & Dave "Doug" Thomas) also did a very hilarious rendition of "The 12 Days Of Christmas" (A BEER; in a tree).

Michelle Pfeiffer, Pierce Bronson, Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Christian Baranski, Stellar Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper, Charmian Carr, Dick Van Dyke, Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, the list goes on and on and on

Really good ones in this list, but so many are missing: Hugh Jackman, Meryl Streep, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor... I think we nee a Part 2
Hugh Jackman isn't a surprise. He started in musicals. Meryl Streep has been singing since she was a child. Also not a surprise. Nicole Kidman is utter crap. Ewan McGregor is mediocre at best. Thus neither belong on this list.
@@carr0760 You have clearly never seen Moulin Rouge. Ewan's rendition of Your Song is widely accepted as the best ever. Even Elton himself said he was glad he did it first.

utterly brilliant! "Sunday in the Park with George", stunning performance.
because he could blow away everyone on this list. collectively.
Probably because Mandy Patinkin was already well-known as a singer on stage before he became famous as a film actor. The fact that he could sing in films wasn't exactly a surprise to audiences, as it was with most of the other actors on here.
@@jasonkeith9317
You keep saying that and I don't think you know what it means 😊
Patrick Wilson- that man's voice is absolutely incredible. Check him out on the Phantom of the Opera movie soundtrack ❤️
That literally shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. He has a Broadway background.
I saw Patrick and I was surprised of his singing talent!
The first time I saw Wilson on screen was Phantom. Didn’t know a thing about him and was entranced by his voice…on the other hand my crush Butler was hacking it up over there.
I loved both he and GB singing on POTO
ONE MILLION TIMES THIS.
I love the end of that movie where she does the whole song on stage with a tambourine in her hand
How they did not mention this Queen is shameful!! She amazing!!
When I heard he got ran over by his own snowplow all I could think was “sounds about right for Hawkeye”
Should play Zelensky in any biopic about him.
He also sang on an episode of House, M.D.
One of my favorite songs by Renner is Live for Now. Always had a crush on him lol
Find love comes to an executioner that's the first movie I ever saw him in and he sings in that he sings American Pie so good ❤
Meryl Streep. Her vocal performance in "Postcards from the Edge" blew my mind. And, quite rightly, "Postcards...." writer and actress the late, great Carrie Fisher.
Yes! The best part in the series is hers
What about her performance in Mamma Mia
I remember being blown away when I she sang Amazing Grace at the end of Silkwood.
I forgot about Meryl. Very talented
Kelsey Gramer, Jason Alexander, F. Murray Abraham, Jane Kregowski, all have incredible voices. They all started in musical theater. Another actor with an incredible voice Mel Gibson. He sang as John Smith in Pocahontas.
Jason Alexander started on Broadway. We miss him there! And Jane Krakowski is a Tony Award winner Broadway Baby!
YES!!! Definitely Kelsey and Mel!!! Music industry needs them now! Though I do wish Patrick Swayze was still alive singing and writing songs.
Oh yes, and Larry the Cable Guy can sing. Watch him on the Masked Singer.
Hello my dear
Jon lovitz
Hugh Jackman was my favorite he was Wolverine in the X-man series but he really really got a taste of his singing chomps in as Curley in Oklahoma, Jean ValJean in Les Miserable, and P.T Barnum in The Greatest Showman, and he was the boy from oz in The Boy From Oz. Hugh Jackman can basically do everything
But Jackman is involved heavily in musical theatre. He is more of a song and dance man than he is an actor.
Oh yes they forgot Hugh Jackman. I love him!
Hugh Jackman is such a well rounded actor! I do think he is one of those rare authentic persons with a kind heart and generous person!
There’s no surprise with Jackman though, widely known.
Jackman came from Broadway, though
After watching Tick, Tick, BOOM!, I would say Mr. Andrew Garfield, who learned to play the piano and had singing lessons to make this film, is amazing! And after listening/watching him, you might think acting could be his second calling after music.
Patrick Wilson has an incredible voice also! Jeremy Renner stunned me! ❤❤❤
Ewan McGregor should be included. He was great in Moulin Rouge!
Absolutely!
Come What May... *melts*
@@annastrakele1241 I’m happy to see someone has a similar opinion to me
I love him too because I've always thought Erik is a bit of a tortured, rock star soul this even after seeing Jonathan Roxmouth twice in Phantom of the Opera.
They should have shown Gerald in PS I Love You, he singing was awesome.
I love gerard as phantom too!
Steve Martin!
He is a killer Banjo Player too.
And an amazing bluegrass singer songwriter
Long live King Tut!!!
Bernadette Peters has a beautiful voice. Both in The Jerk was awesome, and they were actually dating during the time of filming
I'm incredibly happy that you included Jensen Ackles. So many lists and channels often forget about or decide not to include this multi-talented man. #SPNFamily4LIFE
Was sooo happy to see him on this list. Love his voice.
@@penguinvsminja So do I! I have both of his albums and an entire Spotify playlist dedicated to Jensen. LOL.

Hello my dear
I’m so glad Jensen Ackles made this list. His voice is phenomenal!
I really wish Ryan Reynolds had made this list cause he actually has a really nice voice.
100% agree! !!
Love Jensen
Beverly D’Angelo has an amazing voice. Her performance in Coal Miner’s Daughter is jaw dropping.
YES!!!!❤️❤️❤️
YES!!!! Great voice in Christmas Vacation.
Also Sweet Dreams. She was marvelous singing Patsy Cline.
Sissy Spacek, more than held her own as well. Just saying. I had no idea 🤷♀️ she could 🎤.
@@jenniferwellman5311 The director wanted her to sing for authenticity.
Kevin Costner, man. He has his own band , saw him in concert years ago and it was so good. Just amazing ❤
Tom Hiddleston singing in Norwegian was something I didn't know I needed.
Also, how tf did Taron Egerton not make this list?? He played Elton John in Rocketman and the gorilla in Sing!
exactly, so it’s NOT SURPRISING that he’s a good singer
@@coco2.2 I get what you're trying to say here but a few of the people on this list also portrayed singers in movies so that kind of defeats the purpose of what you're trying to say.
@@adhdhamster yeah well it’s not new that their lists suck lol
Wow, I completely forgot about Taron Egerton. Absolutely he should have been on the list.
Kit Connor from Heartstopper sang in the movie as well.
Here's a few others:
.Jason Segel (for singing in The Muppets (2011))
.Taron Egerton (Sing, Rocketman and the upcoming Little Shop of Horrors)
.Andrew Garfield (play Jonathan Larson and sang in Tick Tick Boom)
.Tom Hanks (singing in Toy Story 2 and The Polar Express)
.Dwayne Johnson (Maui in Moana)
.Emily Blunt (Into the Woods, My Little Pony: The Movie (2017), Mary Poppins Returns)
.Daniel Radcliffe (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying revival)
And boy there's so many others to say.
With Daniel other of the Harry Potter crew is Tom Felton

YES TARON AND ANDREW
Taron was so good in the Sing!
@@andreaximenaramirezcoronel4931 not only that Emma and even Rupert and most of the cast can sing.
You need to do a second part of this. There's so many actors who can sing very Well.
I agree
It's incredible, I feel like most professional actors started voice training really young so they have the upper hand. I just don't know why they hide it, if I could sing well I'd never shut up 😂
Bruce Willis should be in this list too! What an incredible voice he has, my favourite being" save the last dance for me"
Wish I could click up vote on this twice! Bruce Willis was a great singer.
You forgot the Honorable mentions like Johnny Depp, Kevin Spacey, Billy Boyd, Jackie Chan, Jason Segal, Ryan Gosling, Nicole Kidman, or Joseph Gordon Levitt!
I think Jackie Chan sang the Chinese version of I’ll make a man out of you and I heard Joseph Gordon Levitt sing in that one Todrick Hall song
Also The Rock and Bradley Cooper
And James Marsden
@@cailieisidro5758 And I believe Johnny Knoxville made a point of putting one of his songs in Skiptrace because he's a fan of his music.
Andrew Garfield should be on this list somewhere!!
That’s your opinion there’s a lot of good singers that are actors loud actors are singers that I think they cannot her album is top 20 not a big deal zero for the ones you think I should be on there
i was looking for this comment his performance in tick tick boom was amazing
What about Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones, John C. Reilly and Renee Zellweger? No one knew any of them could sing and dance until Chicago....and Bradley Cooper, Johnny Depp, Imelda Staunton and many others. Time for an additional list.....
How could they not mention that Hugh Laurie played and sang contemporary songs as Bertie Wooster?! Him and Stephen as Jeeves trying a duet is hilarious. Mainly because Stephen is speaking!
...and Fry as Jeeves could NOT do his lines in the song without adding "Sir" at the end of each. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
And another hugh…
Scarlett Johannson , Seth McFarland, Reese Witherspoon--they were all great in Sing. But it was Taron Egerton that blew me away!
YES!
Seth McFarland blew my mind…. He channeled Old Blue Eyes so well… I didn’t believe it was him singing at first lol
Yes ! They showed Anne Hathaway in that production of Les Mis 🤷🏻♀️, she’s good but so is Seyfreid
Even Meryl Streep did a great job.
Surprisingly... Amanda’s talent... not a surprisev
I know and they showed the other two.
And Amanda has a great rack too!
Love Jeremy Renner as an actor - was excited to hear about his musical side!
I think he was a singer 1st but most recognize him as an actor
Anne Hathaway in les miserable- she killed it. I sob every time like clockwork just the emotions she put into that song ❤️😭
Anne Hathaway can sing the phone book... She looks the part for every song... gorgeous
Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) was also in Glee - great voice!
I'm surprised Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Rob Benedict (God - Supernatural), or Michael C Hall (Dexter) are not in this; but then again there are so many excellent singers who act as well.
Yeah, the omission of Ellis kinda shocks me, but I wonder if it's because we all know damn well that devil can sing.
Rob Benedict has his own band called Loud Swain and they play at Supernatural conventions
Hello my dear nice to meet you 🥂
Even more so since here the main character's pipes were surprise not just for the audience but also for the show creators who significantly revamped the concept after finding that past filming first several episodes.
What about Kristen Bell
Jenson Ackles has a great voice, he and Christian Kane sound amazing together, Colin Farrell has a voice I wasn't expecting
Swaze not only sang the lovely song talked about from Dirty Dancing, he also wrote it too!!!
Emily Deschanel, John Goodman, Brent Spiner, Christian Kane, Elyes Gabel, Stephen Colbert . I remember being wowed by Zachery Levy when I heard him sing the first time. Who knew Chuck had such a great voice?!
Jensen Ackles is such gorgeous talented man! Having meet the man in person a few times he is incredibly humble and sweet as well!
.I agree . And he smells great! LoL His version of "Simple Man" is amazing.
I can't believe Bradley Cooper did not make this list. His voice was so magical with Lady Gaga in A Star is Born!!!
If you are a fan of Val Kilmer, you should really watch his bio-documentary Val. It’s a very powerful and moving autobiography on film.
I didn't know this until this countdown, either.
