That little bass lick at the beginning of the song used to be the intro to MTV News back when they were actually music television.
I think it was the outro of MTV news that they is a bit of the peace sells bassline
Damn it was?! I watched MTV in those days and totally forgot that. As an aside I wonder whatever happened to Kurt Loader?
@@nickcolbert9615 last year. I saw a video of Kennedy and Kurt chatting tother at some event. I don't know how old it is but it looks like it a few years ago. Kurt looks like he has aged well. for some reason I was never a fan MTV news other anchors Tabita and John.
@@chrisstory563 yeah I looked him up. Looks like he’s 78 and still kicking and looking good for his age. Yeah he had a gravitas about him that was unmatched. He took the job seriously unlike some of the others. 🍻🤘🏻✌🏼
@@nickcolbert9615 that's why I like him more then the other news anchors on MTV. he had that same quality that you would from the big three news anchors back in the 80's. when I mean big three. I mean Rather Brokaw and Jennings
Norris and Thorn didn't come close Loader's ability to deliver music news the way he did.
heck when MTV first came on. it was only the VJ's that did the MTV news but when they brough in Kurt for the week in rock and MTV news around 1987'. he was the right choice.
Excellent. I needed more Megadeth reactions in my life. The greatest thrash band ever.
Damn right, bro🤘😎
Hell yeah! 🤘
Nah
@@jhamilton1007Name another band? Metallica had three good albums between 1984-1988, but that's it. Megadeth are the Kings of Thrash, no question - not even close.🤘🏻
"I wrote it because I was tired of people mocking metal in general and mocking people who are metal fans".
It was hard for me to watch the way we were stereotyped on TV, just as dumbasses.
For the most part, I think that a lot of musicians are very intelligent and very talented. It's a bummer the way people had been stereotyped."
- Dave Mustaine-
He's not wrong. There's a lot of people that label metal heads in that manner, but yet, it's usually those who themselves are casting their own shortcomings on a certain group of people
He's right but at the same time they were a bunch of drug junkies so obviously people will think they're dmbasses
It's so refreshing to see black people enjoying and understanding metal. We all share the same struggles in life. I'm loving this!
"WHADDYA MEAN I'M KICKED OUT OF METALLICA??" Jk, Megadeth is one of my favorite bands ever! That joke/parody line just makes me laugh every time haha. But in terms of the song "If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line"...makes more sense today than it did in 1986
LOL wow i could totally hear him saying that WHADDYA MEAN I BEEN KICKED OUTTT -------- TAHHHH------ MEHHH --- TAAALLL --- LICK --- AHHHHHHHH ---------------
Hatfield shouldn't have kicked his dog.
Tasha should re-react to this watching the music video. It's a masterpiece that really drives the music home.
Definitely a masterpiece 💯 percent agree
This Megadeth album was my introduction to Megadeth
Killing Is My Business was my first introduction to them. But, like most people who hear Megadeth for the first time, I didn't get it at first. Then this album dropped and I heard Peace Sells for the first time. It was all over with from that point forward. It's funny how this song was so pivotal in me becoming a diehard fan. But, yet! Now, it's not even in my Top 5 from them. Maybe not even in my Top 10. But, it's still nothing short of a classic. Any Metal band, that you could name, would kill to have this song be their only hit. It's a career making song. It made Megadeth.
If you want another song about basically this same subject, do Foreclosure Of A Dream. The lyrics of that one will make you angry, because it's still happening so many decades later. \m/
Such an underrated Megadeth track.
Megadeth’s answer to Metallica’s Black album.
Megadeth is always better.
you should check out the MetalTrump cover of Peace Sells.
First song from them that got me into Megadeth...went out and got the LP shortly after hearing it.🤘
And led to a path of heavenly tunes
Megadeath is the angry, rage filled hate child of Metallica and a witch coven…at HP Lovecrafts estate.😂😂😂
Damn straight, 'they' were F*ing people in the 80s, & they're STILL F*ing US!
There were ALOT of songs about the way of the world back then, & it's all the same now, but even worse.
The first somg that comes to mind is "EMPIRE" by Queensryche. That song get INTO IT! 🤘😎
First concert I went to was Megadeth in 1987. 🤘🏻
My first concert I seen them open for Dio
This song rings just as true now as it did when released in 82.
Maybe even more today than back then
@@batwings388 right on!
86 but yeah
Considering this was made and released in 1986, there was nothing like this record out at the time... Dave Mustaine was way ahead of his time, despite his rampant drug abuse. This was the music he was coming up w/ when the big albums were Bon Jovi's 'Slippery when wet' ... Journey's 'Raised on radio'... Ratt's 'Dancing undercover'... Whitesnake's 'Slide it in'... Megadeth sounded like no one else out there, including Metallica.
The musicianship here is outstanding! Chris Poland is so fkn good!🤘
One of the greatest songs and album by my all time favorite metal band - MEGADETH
Very insightful and considerate of the lyrics and music. These were among some of the greatest musicians and song writers of their era.
I only hope now people begin to see exactly why metal was demonized and marginalized in the mainstream despite the brilliance behind their music and lyrics.
They all have a message we needed to hear. The power that be didn't want you listening.
Glad you guys are seeing it for what it is and resurrecting it for future generations to seee and hear. If you think it was bad then, it's REALLY bad now. Theyve all but stamped this type music from existence.
Most of todays music is music made to sell records and tickle the ear of the simple minded. Bring back real music with a real message that took real talent of multiple musicians to create. Betcha none of these songs were tapped out in 30 minutes on a computer.
Doing Ts favorite metal band. This was my first Megadeth album. I love opening line of the song. This is way before Oliver Anthony. Is T going to turn Tasha into a full fledged metal head?
we will see.
Omg I was 16 when this came out, with my long mullet😂
You are spot on about the tempo and vocals in this song, meaning to sound like frustration.
So many people I know who have been fans of this song haven't picked up on that.
And you are spot on about a "breaking point" how it never goes away. Politicians just pacify the public for a short time when the pressure starts to boil over.
Blessed to be from ground zero
I'm very open to the commentary. Let's hear what Tasha has to say.
Plus I really, really love megadeth!
Another great song!! I was 16 when this came out. I was actually a fan of them before Metallica.
Killing is my business and business is good from that first album been fan since
so long without checking this one. this is like one of the most beautiful megadeth classics for me. i think those solos are using blues scale.. they sound so, so great and also full album has bluesy style on it and i love it. hope this channel keeps going good as well as you, greetings from barcelona and sorry for my english
You have to understand, this was heavy metal in its early days. The songwriters were writing about the climate in America and the world. Drugs and alcohol. World peace and discord. Nuclear holocaust. It was a scary time to try and predict politicians. So our heroes were bands that gave us an outlet.
Love Megadeth and all the bands from the'80's.
Dave was speeking thruth long ago, I like the classics.
Classic Megadeth
Love the reaction and that song gets better everyday! Definitely rings true
This is in my opinion the best megadeth song I remember this video on MTV I could not get enough love megadeth
such a good song, nice to see Tasha enjoying the classics, always fun to see her reactions to metal
Loved this folks! It's always brilliant to see people's reactions to those filthy licks and riffs.
Great reaction 🎉
Your cool as hell! And your girl also! Thank you both for your open minds! First time checking out your show, and will definitely continue! Thanks for letting whole songs play, a lot don't? Points scored with me!
This song is fantastic 🤘
Glad to see Tasha is becoming a MegaFan. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was 13 when thrash started and 16 when this came out and you said a mouthful when you said "voice of a generation" - great analysis and insight. There will always be angst amongst the younger as they grow up and this was my time - it carried into the early 90's for me culminating in Pantera - tell me Phil isn't the pure definition of angst - with iron will!
The big 4 and Maiden are the soundtrack to my youth!
I love that you loved your Megadeth journey so much that you just had to share! I couldn't love this more! Thank you! Looking forward to more!! Should react to Megadeth-Foreclosure of a Dream. You'll see why!
I remember first hearing this while play gta vice city and listening to v rock
Elon Musk is an Oscar Mayer, but for all his eccentric genius, let him go colonize Mars and not come back.
In terms of the lyrics, there are a lot of similarities with this and Machine Head's song "In Comes the Flood". Totally different, but you'll find yourself in those lyrics the same way.
We all share this pale blue dot in the universe and we need to stop letting politics divide us We ALL know that we all love each other no matter what. ❤️ it's THEM that want us to hate and want us divided.we need to unite!
Provided the bass line to the original Mtv News commercial (jingle)
Great album!
You guys rock! I wish I could take you back to 1986 with me to see them live. Totally agree with you guys in the state of the world.
Yes! 🤘
Awesome video, thanks!
I appreciate the free speech on twitter...at least better than it was.
End world hunger or free speech on Twitter?
@@TheAdventuresofTNTfree speech
Peace Sells!!!!
Best metalhead DAVE
Elon offered to pay to end world hunger, but his request was for there to be complete transparency for every dollar spent in order to guarantee there was no corruption. The UN, or whoever it was, declined.
My favorite band for 30 years until The Warning came along. Apples to oranges but that's just how great The Warning is. EVOLVE official or the live at Teatro CDMX would be great start.
a classic Megadeth masterpiece 👍
What’s cool is Mustaine wrote this to show that metal heads aren’t dumbasses like everyone thought. As you know, metal is not easy to play or write. It takes talent.
Every time Tee starts laughing, I gotta roll it back a bit to see what I missed, cos if it gets Tee laughing, it;'s gotta be good - and it was!
Tasha saying how she stopped going to church cos she "didn't like those people anyway" (brutal honesty!), calling them "little demons themselves", LOL!!
That was awesome, and SO TRUE! It's so often the case, people who virtue signal through endless preaching/pontificating, and church attendance are usually frauds with something to hide.
I liked what she said about NATURE being the TRUE "house of the lord". I am not particularly religious or spiritual, but if I were to ever embark on some spiritual odyssey, NATURE is where I would turn, not any man-made religion or "house of the holy".
Hell yeah great reaction guys❤️☮️TaTa
Thats a winner. Moshing to one of the absolute greatest
Remember seeing this on MTV as a kid when it first came out. Was life changing as a 7 year old.
14yo jamming this is basement!!! 1984 banned on MTV for flashing lights
The reagan years were rough
Funny at 65 to discover metal!
I quite literally happened upon your Channel with this Video. My first thought was:"How did I miss this Channel?"
I kept listening, and I saw what was said about churches and such. You have to follow your heart. Faith is very personal and their is no man alive that can tell you how to have a relationship with God. What they did was wrong. I believe in God and Jesus too, with all my heart. There are alot of people out there who call themselves Christian but are hateful, and that's not what God and Jesus are about. It's not about judgment and condemnation, it's about kindness, love, and something bigger than yourself to help you when you need it. Oh... and I am a huge metal head too. ;) I'm subbing after all of this. You two are so damn awesome!
Love it. I saw these guys with 500 people in the arena opening for Dio, 86/87. If it wasn’t metal I didn’t listen to it. Fortunately I have moved beyond that phase. Besides, outside of Megadeth, almost all metal today takes the safe road. It’s a shame because Peace Sells is the passion I bought into. …….and justice for all shit like that. Or let’s talk some cyanide and hold political fundraisers with the very politicians destroying our country…….LARS! While they try to censor us the very guys I leaned towards in times of trouble refuse to address the suffocating struggles and the outright censorship.

Megadeath does a great cover of Alice Coopers "No more mister nice guy"
Peace Sells is a masterpiece. Mustaine is a Guitar God.
10:35 💯 straight up facts T & T
10:11 Yes! Please! Get on that soapbox. We’d love to hear what’s on your mind. I’m guessing a majority of us out here are feeling the same 👍🏻
Yes symphony of destruction is perfect for what is happening in real time with the government is uncanny
Its still We The People RIGHT?!
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Yall hitting on all cylinders today I bet I've listened to this albumn a 1000 times easy
MEGADETH , huge fan here.
One of my favorite songs by them is Liar ... but love this one as well
Great reaction thanks 🎉❤🎉
One of the best. Love it.
You are rite about some people in church but when I got away from church I still believe
"Foreclosure Of A Dream" is an little later song by these guys addressing farmers losing land etc... YES The church thing...with you 100% ma'am... (Dave was raised Catholic, but I don't think he practices)
and your take on politics in the world today...💯
It's funny though how peopel were writing songs back in the 80's about how bad things were, songs like Born in the USA (no, that's not a patriotic song), "The Way it Is", etc. But in reality the 80's were the best times in our history, after we finally recovered from the Carter years. The alphabet agencies were still around back then, and that's where most of the problems were, they do their thing no matter who's president, they are rogue organizations.
I love seeing younger people listening to and appreciating great music.. The 80s were AMAZING!! 🤘
I absolutely love metallica, but megadeth was always my favorite
"I didn't like some of the people in the church..."
I can totally relate lmao, my parents took me every sunday and for some reason the other kids were assholes.
Some are faithful and good people, but to me most of them are hypocrites.
TASHA IS A LOVELY ❤❤❤❤❤❤
For so long as there is profit to be made from crisis and mayhem, crisis and mayhem will be manufactured.
James Hetfield peace sells ai is pretty tight, don't judge me
It’s cool that you’re reviewing this song, to me as a 50 year old I realize that this story is as old as time.
Anything that can be used to manipulate the public will be used, weather it’s god, peace, economy, racial, gender…you’re sense of what’s right will be used against you.
You guys rock!!!!!
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Time for some Running Wild. Ballad of William Kidd or The Battle of Waterloo just to name 2.
🤘🤘
Do Symphony of Destruction for Tasha next please.
Or even Hanger 18 or Holy Wars
Love my 🎵T N T🎵
Grew up on Megadeth
This song was written during the end of the Reagan years. I was 23. Iran-Contra was happening. A few years before the Wall came down helping facilitate the fall of the USSR. Reagan ignored HIV and AIDS for YEARS.
The Savings & Loans' massive failure, poverty & homelessness rising bc of voodoo economics & so many horrible things that came from the era. The ultra conservatism that came was horrific.
The very sad thing about President Reagan is he came into the presidency really wanting to change things but if you remember in 1981 they tried to kill him those who really are in charge behind the scenes who tell the president and the politicians what to do or blackmail them if certain bills and laws aren't passed.
Even if the politician or the president wants to pass a bill to help the American people there are lobbyists (being a lobbyist should be illegal) the lobbyists pay off or lobby or blackmail anyone who does not do what they say, so unfortunately....... Reagan capitulated to the true rulers of the government instead of doing what was right for the country before he was shot in 1981 he wanted to do a lot more to help the American people get them out of debt and really helped Americans through passing policies to build the American dream (but his hands were tied and he's absolutely still responsible I would say someone like him as a coward for capitulating to the true powers to be) but we have to understand history's context and unfortunately when he was almost assassinated back 43 years ago he was too scared for his own life and for his family's life so he followed those he used to be against, he passed the vaccine bill of 1986 which made big pharma practically unsueable, the same year he passed amnesty which brought way too many immigrants into the country and some of those became American citizens eventually but some of them are still illegal today they've never had a citizenship in America and to add insult to injury you add all those people to all the people crossing the border illegally every day, people like Reagan and Nixon never wanted to pass these legislations but they were threatened by powers that a lot of people in America pretend don't exist (you can call in the deep State or the shadow government but there are powerful people who off those who don't obey them) they get rid of those or blackmail thoes(congressman president senators lawyers governors and mayors and judges) who originally opposed legislation that gave corporations and big government more power but then lobbyists were able to convince them or blackmail them into passing laws and regulations that were bad for the American people and that are still in place today.
First time reaction? Brother knew the words... LOL
This is Her first time reaction. This is my 20th time hearing this song.
You should have a listen to Post American World, and We'll Be Back, both by Megadeth.
Tee you got to do 502
😎👍
OH! This reminds me of a really cool one you might not have reacted to: Date With Poverty by Metal Church!!!!!! Please please do this one!!!!!
