Which Metal song should Tasha check out next?
Testament - The Ballad; Metallica - Creeping Death
Testament-souls of black or Metal church Gods of wrath
Power of the night :Savatage
I'm not sure, but you should both react to something by Megadeth that both of you don't know. That would make the reaction more interesting than T knowing the song and Tasha not.
Testament The Ritual
Upon hearing of the death of his friend Cliff Burton, Dave picked up his guitar and wrote this song - tears pouring down from the loss of his friend.
I bought this album when I was 17 and would drive around listening to it over and over. Definitely one of my favorite Megadeth albums of all time. One of those albums where every song was great just like Peace Sells and Rust In Peace.
I skipped "Killing..." cuz I was a Metallica fanboy. I bought "Peace..." cuz I loved the title track and ended up loving the album. I skipped this one cuz of the "Anarchy..." cover and didn't come back till "Countdown...". I've since made up the lost ground though. I missed out on many good albums cuz I was too quick to assume bands had sold out.
I still say Metallica was the better 80s band, but from 1990 on it's been all Megadeth.
This album doesn't touch Peace or Rust. Too much high end in the production, and not enough good songs.
Anarchy in the UK and 502 should have been replaced and it would have been as good as Peace Sells.
I remember being slightly disappointed with this album after being blown away by Peace Sells.
Other than Hook in Mouth the rest of the album was meh.
What? Set the World Afire, Mary Jane, Liar, In My Darkest Hour, Into the Lungs of Hell aren't meh!!@@dimirockeropoulos6104
THE DREAD AND THE FUGITIVE MIND is a must listen…awesome guitar work
I saw them live when they were touring (So far, So good, so Tour) for the album. To this day 'In My Darkest Hour' is my favourite Megadeth song.
Damn. I have not listened to this song in a pretty long while.
But this was one of my first Megadeth loves. This was a huge favorite in my teens. But, I mean, this song has teen angst written all over it.
And Dave was in his late 20's by now, lol.
Epic tune though 🤘
That intro, certain later parts!--Totally influenced (and slays) Cemetery Gates.
This interpretation of yours about the song was really touching.
The situation, when you really are at the rock bottom, with emotional pain, loneliness and then cry out for God , please set me free me from this world.
It feels like it is not just a basic song, Dave must have had some very deep emotions going on when he did this song. And I am sure many of us can definitely understand this feeling and situation, who have been in that very rock bottom.
deadass has been my favorite song for months
Her interpretation was very deep & impressive imho , especially being able to pullout all of his lyrics words that were almost buried within the heavy bass & drum to have been heard properly ( i could only barely hear half of the lyrics ) , then having to visualize & construct on the go !!! the real rationale behind them !!! etc...
this was an album from my HS schools. Used to go cruising in my buddy Jame's 67 blaring this cassette at full volume. This was my favorite track from that album. We were 16.
Still go back to this one as one of my fav Metal albums all time
I have listened to this album over and over again in the dark with a bottle of rum, for 25 years. Whenever my life feels out of control, I take this journey in the middle of the night and come out the other end with more clarity than an old-time southern spiritual revival. You see, Dave is god.
This album was underrated. It blew Peace Sells out of the water and represents an important turning point for the band. Awesome!
The production sucked but it was a really good album. Wouldn't say it blew Peace Sells out of the water though...
Production sucked but better than the remasters though lol.
One of their very best…the beginning once the main riff kicks in, (3:05)sounds like music that should be playing when Godzilla emerges onto the shore
@1:23 all good mah lady!!!!!! No one judges you as you are a real one exploring without negative! Cheers homies!
My favorite Megadeth song. I very much enjoyed both of you being moved nearly to tears: her from the brutality of the lyrics and you from the gloriousness of the riffage. The solo in this song is one of my all time favorites. Great reaction!
This is such a under rated album. One my favs
Favorite megadeth song.
I thought her reaction hit on many levels. Great analysis, Tasha.
Looking Down the Cross is another good one. Many great bangers by Megadeth but this one was from the first album by them so its my first favorite by them. The album had a cool name for my 20 year old brain at the time.Killing is My Business and Business is Good
Down the cross is a top 5 megadeth track . Easily the best song on the first record .
Agreed that it's an underrated album. Standouts are: Mary Jane, Hook In Mouth, In My Darkest Hour. There's also an interesting story about how Jeff Young got the gig. He was actually the guitar teacher of the guy that originally landed the gig. The other guy was in over his head (wanted Jeff to write the solos and teach him). Eventually, they just ended up bringing Jeff in. Supposedly got fired for trying to sleep with Dave's girlfriend.
What an amazing interpretation of this song. I couldn't get much into the lyrics because the guitars always blew me away Very cool! Cheers!
Dude she broke down this song better than i have and iv been listening to this song for idk like 30yrs. Great fn work
Yall are the best. Love the enthusiasm for by beloved metal. Keep up the great work and Megadth
Not only to appreciate the music but the lyrics is top notch. Is this becoming my favorite channel??
I fking love this song always have last concert I saw was megadeth but saw them on peace sells and rust in peace tours
E tout le monde is a really good one too.
Great reaction/break down of a great song.
I would love to see her break down "Addicted To Chaos" plus I think she would really like the song.
I love your dad was rocking out the whole time. That was awesome.
This song helped me through the roughest time in my life.
My Last Words and Hook in Mouth 👍
Facts
My last words never gets recognized like it should. It still gives me chills after all these years.
Just seen this album live from Kings of Thrash. It was phenomenal
Man this song still slaps. Stood the test of time.
Loved this album when it dropped.
This is one of their best albums
I must say, being part of your community from day 1 it’s been a long time and lots of videos editing, so thanks for the work you two. Now, all these years 1000,s videos watched, I never come across a new to metal individual with a over the shoulder a fly on the wall as we listen to said individual process, learn the background or individuals interpretation of a songs, makes them feel, realizing the demonic or darker always represents bad, evil, man as in traditional relationships his side of the argument, look bottom line 95% of Metal songs are Mens feelings, their thoughts, and yes a place to vent without judgement and mostly society doesn’t really care that men have feelings when their taught to be strong, be brave, being judged being ridiculed for being soft or men don’t cry, so metal music says f that and turn out plenty of emotion! So I love your idea of a metal breakdown opinion/ observation and understanding songs, love it girl! Love from Minneapolis 🤘🏻
great reaction….and discussion
You picked a great megadeth song!!!!
One of the best megadeth songs ever for me.
Wow!!! Guys what a great reaction to an awesome song glad y'all liked this one keep on rocking 🤟
Love this from my teenage years. And still now I guess. This one does hurt, but it's all good
If Tasha wants a song about Jesus being crucified, Megadeth has that covered - Looking Down The Cross (1985).
Damn when you drop songs like Kick the Chair, Washington is Next, Endgame, Dystopia on her its going to blow her mind.. Then you have United Abominations, Dance in the Rain, New World Order to continue the topic again.. Then you can rap it up with The World Needs A Hero.. "Oooooh gotta find a hero".. 😂 got to love a little cheese with your heavy subjects.
I still maintain this is Dave's finest work
Megadeth - Promises. Should be next Tash reaction
I enjoyed to see you commenting this, really done, sending kisses from France for you both. Would love to see you react to any song from Gojira ;)
On the surface, this sounds like a suicide/soured relationship song, which I firmly agree with - but apparently, the song is actually about the fractured relationship between Mustaine and Metallica, and/or Cliff Burton - but I don't really see it. Supposedly there are a few songs by each band that do this ; some cryptic expression of the Metallica/Megadeth saga put into a song about suicide or insanity or war or whatever... I would never make such connections in a million years.
This song is incredible ! The music and the lyrics are awesome 🙏🤗
Two things you're always gonna get with Megadeth. Amazing guitars and melodies. But also very intense and deep lyrics and song structure. Theyrnit for everyone, but once you get the Megadeth vibe, Dave will take you an an amazing journey into his discography. He is an amazing composer. Check out TRUST or ALMOST HONEST off of Cryptic Writings. Those are a bit more commercial, but so well orchestrated. What I love most about Megadeth is Dave's affinity for mixing classical music with thrashing metal. Those two genres are very close in structure. Believe me, Beethoven ROCKS. Another great listen is Beethovens 5th symphony played in heavy metal style. Such a beautiful piece. I'm new to your channel, and I like you two. Thanks for the reaction! Keep up the great work!
My favourite song by Megadeth.
Spot on!!!
Megadeth tunes don't have a chorus a lot of times...that makes it harder for casual metalheads like me...and anyone trying metal on like Tasha. The lyrics will make a big difference for her while I'm more about the instrumental...we need to find one that kicks ass musically with some awesome lyrics!
That's the cool thing about Megadeth not always having choruses but still being catchy. Genius
Hey t&t love your reactions! You need to do Meshuggah and revocation. I know you’ll love them guys. Keep on rocking \m/ \ m/
Amazing song amazing reaction. 🤘🏼
Great album! Great reactions y’all!
Stop thinking is the message! We all need love but don't disrespect yourself to get it!
Yeah, Dave was going through some Shit when he made this album.
Drug use bad relationship. Contemplating suicide😢 So glad he didn't go through with it.😊
The best forever
Lyrics are always important
into the Lungs of Hell says more than most songs.
Oh you guys should check out Evergrey, in flames, arch enemy, Amon amarth, volbeat, or soilwork
Early Megadeth, hell yes 🤘🔥🤘
it was written after cliff death and dave was realy affected by it .
Can you imagine what Metallica would have been like had they not kicked Dave Mustain out of the band
MetallicA doesn't have a bad album Megadeth has many. The last Three MetallicA albums are better then pretty much every Megadeth album still but OK.
@joshuamasserant8215 have you ever noticed the riffs in Metallica's first three albums a lot were Dave's. Both awesome bands but megadeth is way more technical. 🤘
@@joshuamasserant8215Tell me you haven’t listened to Rust in Peace and Peace Sells without telling me
Great reaction thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I prefer the original to the remastered, but it's still my favorite Megadeth song.
Honestly this is the only song on the album that the remaster is just as good as the original. Wish the other songs were done with the same treatment
They are remaster kicks original ass.@@foret4a874
That album got me into thrash metal when I was 15 ,good song great album
this is a great song. have seen them do it many times live!! you guys really need to react to a band called LOVEBITES. they are an all female heavy metal band from japan and to me the best heavy metal band in the world. i KNOW you would like them, have a great day!!!
I think Tasha hit it right on the head,
Next Do set the world of fire.#was 🤘🤘
Instant subscribe
Oh heck yeah I got this one early! LOL
i could be wrong but I thought Dave wrote this song when Cliff Burton died in the accident in the Metallica tour bus crash…
….i wrote this comment before seeing your whole reaction…you mentioned it at the end 😊😊
No wasn't about cliff but dedicated to him after written it
@@JawsVader1970 The music of the song was written by band frontman Dave Mustaine in a single sitting after a friend had contacted Mustaine to inform him of Metallica bassist Cliff Burton's passing. Mustaine was frustrated with the members of Metallica for not contacting him personally, stating in an interview: ( wikipedia )
@user-qn6zw8yh5e OK correct on the music part but the lyrics were the revenge on his ex
This must be a remaster. It sounds so much better than the original mix :O
Interesting interpretation and it does stand up. Dave was clearly in a bad state with grief on hearing the news about Cliff, drug addiction, bad relationships and quite possibly the pain that he's always seemed to carry since getting kicked out of Metallica. The lyrics clearly referencing suicide as the music careers into chaos representing his mindstate. For me at least, in the last verse he's resolving to try and put the past behind him and keep on going. The good thing passing away could be Cliff, his relationship or being in Metallica. Most likely, all three. The return of the melody is his mind stabilising again after the crisis.
Hail Megadeth!
She really needs to hear Friday by Life of Agony
Your wife Hit the nail on the head.
Do something called Parademarch der Legion Condor-or for the most "metal" (attitude) version: SS marschiert in Feindesland.
WWII songs, novel.
classic megadeth written about cliff
Dave not giving the females too much love on this song. B*tch, lol
Killer band. Stopped for a 502.
Check out Mary Jane on the same album!
MAAARRRRRYYYYY JAAAAANNNNNNEE!!!!!!!!! Love that song!
Lars is the "bi**h. He realized after they failed to tell him that Burton had died, he felt vindicated after all those years that their problems wasn't all him. He felt out of respect that they should have let him know.
Was this the song he wrote after Cliff Burton's death?
Yes. Many of the fans have stated that Cliffs death inspired him to write this song.
There is a film about Megadeth, which was created like 20 years ago, and I think Dave talked about this there.
Hey do what ya like, most of the songs after my time but you two make a great couple. Just my opinion . So many people liked songs i hated and vice versa. Love ya two.
Tasha you're a genius! When was a teenager I felt this was a breakup song. But Dave was pissed at Jesus. Raise you're head face and eyes... he was talking to fkn Jesus or his statue on the the cross. Like...look at me fkr and give me an answer. Do more🤘🏽😝🤘🏽
You should let her hear promises from Megadeth. I think she would like it.
In this song Dave could be talking to either a girlfriend or God.
My Last Words
Do KING DIAMOND HAUNTED or TESTAMENT APOCALYPTIC CITY.
I don't think you have reacted to perhaps my favorite Lynrd Skynrd tune, "Tuesday's Gone" There is a nice remaster version on youtube
For what it is worth, Dave Mustain is very much so a Christian. I think he might like Tasha's analysis of the lyrics
Video oficial
At 07:54 She let out a fart and felt so relieved..... heheheheh.. Atleast it looked to me like she farted and relieved herself.... heheheheh
I know dave said the music was written right after hearing cliff died and the music is about his ex Diana but theres def some cross over with leaving metallica in there and how he was alone and had nothing to fall back on
Best live show ever. Him and his step dad jamming for 3hrs is epic af......his bio parents one overdosed he rqn away from him at 13 jumping on trains adictedto meth. Not he makes beauty
Hey T, will you be getting to my December request soon?
Lmao
No offence, but Tasha makes me smile whenever i see her.
Going into the lyrics like this it seems like the subject of the lyrics dies at the end, probably by suicide
Megadeth...nuff said.
You should both react to some Death or Fear Factory. Death - Flesh And The Power It Holds.....My favorite Death/Death Metal song.
We’ve done them both.
I thought you have but I didn't know if your girl has or not.
What is name of her channel??
Only negative: this is the remastered version. It sounds SOOO SOOO bad! It's like they took half of the vitality from the original version and throw it in the trash can. Soft drums, bass disappeared in some parts and sedated guitars. I don't really even know what Dave Mustaine was thinking when he did this. Dry as a river in Arizona!
Check your ears and stop listing to cheap sound system
