I have the a7siii. I may be the only person to own this who doesn’t do video. I mainly shot at night and like the low noise.
Yes and tou can make like thousands on pictures due to 12mp. Its hybrid camera for my style of shooting . 70 video 30 photo

Difficult to trust you when this video is in 1080p
new video are in 4k. I upload in 1080p because its keeps our workflow easier but it was time we made the change

I swear the 12MP dont bother me at all and in comparison to the A7IV that I have, I swear there is something about the A7S3 that no matter what you do... May that be shooting pictures or video, its for some reason better... I dont know what it is but from handling it and how it processes the data and just in general the way it functions, its much better than other cameras and better than my SONY A7IV also! Even though the A7IV has 33MP but this A7S3 is better in many aspects... I cant exactly say how and why besides whats on paper like 12 mp vs 33 mp but thats all just paper spec bs. In reality its a Beast of its own!!! EXTREMELY HARD TO TOP THIS CAMERA!!!
Okay so is this the BEST next option thats cheaper than my dream high speed camera the chronos 2.1? I am obsessed with high speed cameras to shoot slow motion videos. Or are there other cameras that are better bang for my buck? My budget is 3.5K.
I thinkt eh zve10 might be a good options its a cheaper a7sIII. also the fuji xh2s
I bought the Sony A7S III three years ago...never looked back...if you love low light stills and video... buy it
i'm still on 2 a7s3, coming from 2 a7s2. it's still rock solid to me and still pays the bills :)
Who is better for shooting weddings in normally lit restaurants? Sony A7S III or Sony A7 IV?
About the 12MP, once I rented the top dog Canon camera (at the time) and was shocked it was like 11mp sensor. The bigger the pixel the more juice you get in each pixel. I really think this is true, the colors come out way more saturated, the lighting way more pronounced, and thats why people love this camera. I shot mostly on a 6x9cm film negative, and people always asked how I edited my colors. I didn't alter colors, it was the 'sensor' size that was the color magician. The perceived dynamic range is greatly increased. It gives it something that cant be put into words, theres just extra magic to it. A lot extra. Awesome video, thank you!

I’m a comedian and am torn between the A7Siii and FX3. I primarily will stick it on a tripod and film myself in comedy clubs (low light) 4K 24 perhaps as long as 30-45 minutes. Is it possible that it will overheat? The FX3 has an internal fan and that’s the only thing making me second guess myself.
100000% go with the fx3 . If you use a shotgun mic it will also give you better audio. Thouhg chances are you are using a lav

Also the AI based AF isn’t that great if your subjects are objects like products lol. Fucks me up all the time.

You think they’ll update the fx3 soon?
They just updated the software for the recently. But I do not think it will get things like ai autofocus or ai frame tracking
Don't feel bad you have a great camera. If video is paramount to you then yes, the A7SIII would have been the better choice overall. I own the A7SIII, the A7IV, the A9 and a A7RV and they are used for different purposes. I have no regrets of buying the A7RV as it was the last body, and it has been amazing. My business partner does have an FX3, and we also shoot Blackmagic as well. Please don't pay attention so much to the rolling shutter on the A7RV, although it is there (the A7SIII is a whole lot better in this aspect) isn't as bad as other reviewers have mentioned in reviews because no one whips their camera around from side to side that fast in actual use. Side movements are more planned than that.
The A9, while old is an absolute beast for shooting events (especially in electronic shutter mode, 20fps-without the banding issues of my other bodies), especially weddings, where people don't want to hear your shutter, particularly during the ceremony. I have gotten some BMX shots that would have been harder, but not impossible to get on my other bodies. Rumor has it that the FX3 will supposedly get shutter angle sometime in September 2024 or later. Good luck and go out and enjoy your A7RV purchase, I have.

best vlogging camera for pros . because it’s essentially a pro camera in a vlogging body. but if you want a strictly vlogging camera I would say the Sony zve10/ Sony zv1 Mk ii

Really good info - I own this camera and I love it!!! The only thing you missed is in your drive-by of Picture Profiles you didn’t mention S-Cinetone PP 11 which I use a lot. It’s Sony’s ‘baked-in cinema look’ from the high-end Venice line of cameras. The advantage is it gives you that film-like look without having to colour grade saving you tons of time as Sony has already done it for you! Not everybody can spend hours in Slog3 colour grading. I use that time to do a better job of actually editing a better product. Great video though!!!
hey very true. I think I just try to gloss over when we talk about cinema profiles because most people know and the ones that don’t know will soon learn once they get the camera
Hi I shoot canon r5 but when I do conferences I use my sonys ie z280 etc . Will the a7s3 be good for gimbal as part of the multicam setup and will the colours be good ie match as this is live and no room for colour grades etc, thx
