@@fightsandfinance7570 Hey Fights! Just want to throw my two-cents in here. I personally feel the Sony A6000 series is a great way to get into vlogging and streaming. Along with the Sony Webcam utility, you don't even need a capture card for streaming (though it would be a good idea to get one), you just need a USB cable to connect the camera to your computer. If you want some decent, but not the best, in-body image stabilization, you can pick up either an A6500 or A6600 for around $1200-$1500 depending on lenses and the area you're in. Very nice job, Gerald! One clarification re: audio - you can use your F6 with a -35dB attenuator cable and should be able to feed audio to the a7S III fine - just a note for those who would rather use their F6 rather than the XLR adapter. For MixPre, no attenuator cable needed - the output fader will reduce the levels adequately.

@@bbfoto7248 Thanks, yes, an interesting new set of audio features for a hybrid camera. One clarification: I have not specifically tested the a7S III input, just pointing out that there are other options given the F6's output issue. Would love for more of the manufacturers to implement a line level input setting on their hybrid cameras: A humble approach which concedes they are not the best equipped to provide high quality audio on their own and allow users to add other products to obtain better audio quality. In addition to adding noise via the resistor, it also sends the audio signal through two separate gain stages which isn't necessarily ideal, but probably "good enough" for most hybrid camera shooters.

Yes a follow up video please, on the Picture Profiles and exposure for them, seems like slog-3 if noisy in low light unless using 640 or 12,800, would also appreciate any LUT or grading tips for them as well. Thank you for doing what you do...
I'm blown away by the camera and this video, I've never seen a more comprehensive review of anything.
Killer video Gerald! Couldn't wait for yours! :) Does your DR testing match up with the results at Cinema 5d (for me to cross-compare)? Also, it was interesting to see your A7s3 was slightly more detailed compared the A7iii. I found the opposite but they are still surprisingly close. I may have missed it but what codec did you use for your test shots? (especially that one).
Killer video indeed and yours - ALL the GOOD & BAD in 11 min - did a terrific job as well... to the point and with great energy on the screen. 🔥Looking forward to seeing more about a7s III in action!
Gerald is the hero we deserve, and precisely the one we need right now.
Thank you. Now I have to convince my wife to let me get this, and thanks to my new job I can write it off on my taxes.
I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say: Holy Moly Guacamoly
After hearing your "just set the speed to 75%" advice, I can now re-listen and digest important parts - your videos are jam-packed with well-articulated good stuff - too important to miss. Thanks so much.
I'm no photographer or videographer, just a tech lover interested to learn about the latest and greatest stuff. Your video was EXTREMELY useful and informational, learned so much today and I think you for it.
Gerald Undone is a biological masterpiece. Thank you for sharing your always amazing videos - especially of this technical masterpiece.
LOL, love the Camera Conspiracies Easter egg.
Whelp! Finally ditched my 10-year relationship with Canon and am jumping into the Sony realm. If you make a ton of videos about this while I’m waiting for at least a month or more, I’ll increase your view counts by one. Isn’t that’s special? 😂😂😂
I want to do the same. Any tips
How much of a lens collection are you orphaning?
John Kilpatrick F2.8 24-70 & 35 F1.8
@@stefankoen I'd be orphaning the same 24-70 F2.8L and the 70-200 2.8L IS II. Those are expensive lenses to leave behind. :(
@@Meatwad650 I still have the 5D Mark III so the adapter should do me well. If I get rid of the 5D, it would be around $2000 worth of glass.
WOW! Probably the best review that I've watched to date. Very technical but easy understandable even by noobs in foto/video department like myself! You've got yourself a new subscriber and new personal favorite youtuber in this department!
Holy Moly - when you said the video would be dense, you sure weren't kidding. You are clearly deep into digital photography and you sound like you could go on for hours, knowing everything about most cameras by heart. It was the most insight I've ever gained into a camera in such a short time - VERY impressive! Thank you for sharing your astounding knowledge of even the most minute details about this camera. Now I'm going to dive into your other videos...
Watched this as soon as the first part of the announcement was done
This is more thorough than a medical text book.. Hats off to you my friend, I have found my perfect camera!
Big fan sir. Happy to find you here 💗
Love your detail, Gerald, per usual. I love that new control over manual rack focus.
I've been out on one shoot only and am already convinced that this camera was worth the money. Sony took a look at the GH5 and said "Let's build that but make it full-frame, low-light, and with OUR auto-focus". It's a winner and my GH5 is on eBay
Definitely 😂
Wow. Just Wow. I feel blessed to have experienced this standards-crushing masterpiece of a review.
Watching this, I now can't wait for my A7III to become a secondary camera to the A7SIII, budget permitting haha. Fantastic coverage, Gerald!
Man's out here posting before sony even😉🤣 love you dude! Keep up the great content!!
Embargo was probably lifted as soon as show started. I'm more curious about how Sony feels about BHphotovideo video leaking on UA-cam hours before announcement though
@@Aceofthedynasty yeah I agree, theres is no stress about Gerald's timing, just enjoyed the humour of him being more punctual than sony.
BH is in the dog house for sure!
22:15 I want to watch Josh's video, but it seems he hasn't posted it yet 😩
Wow, what an amazing and worthy camera, and what a beautiful review, rich in feature details and nice comparisons with previous models, and so dense and specific that it really stays interesting.
I'm really blown away by that tracking, battery life, obviously the amazing, amazing video features and thoughtfulness in the design!
The amount of focus you have is incredible, amazing youtuber. 👏
Canon has left the chat.
You know it's comprehensive when there's so many timestamps, it looks like an edit timeline!
What lens would you reccomend for this camera for a vlogger who wants to have one run and run lens, needs something that has more bokeh than an f4 and does has some kind of zoom range and wants to use active stabilization
if you need zoom vlog lens with f2.8 then I think Tamron 17-28 is best choice
I see people are name dropping you so positively on their UA-cam channels all the time. I'm stunned to see your subscriber count is under 200K. Come on people, Gerald is an amazing teacher! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Most people don't want to learn they want to be entertained, which is why the Peter McKinnon model is so successful, they want a charismatic vlogger first, then they don't care too much about technicals
The best indepth camera technical review with practical use cases ive ever seen
Sony: "We did it. We made it perfect."
Gerald: "Its amazingly incredible. . . but . . . a couple things."
Wow, just wow. It's essentially a perfekt Video and it get's my highest recommendation!!
"You can still change the most obscure settings, if that's what you're in to. I am."
I want you to know that you are THE best information outlet for anything camera. Keep up the great work.
the best thing about gerald undone reviews is that they never end!
I can't believe I wasted the majority of my day watching other reviews of this camera (Casey aside), I definitely need to get undone more often. Cheers and thanks.
Does the replacement SD card start with C00001 still? Would be so nice to finally get a true continuous naming scheme..
It's continuous on my a7iii
Alien Drone Services snap maybe I can fix it on my a6600.
When you said "great success" all I could think of was Borat saying it.
Very nice...
@@keystonebrotherb How much?
I don't even shoot sony yet I was glued to this video!! Top notch production quality! Not only is the a7s3 a technical masterpiece, so is this video!!
Gerald, I've watched this video literally 6 times to keep learning and paying attention to all the important/helpful details you make here. Thank you for taking the time to make these types of technical videos! A true Technical Masterpiece, indeed!
