I agree. Sometimes it must be hard for Jason because he knows he will forget a word or the name of a recipe, but he powers through to let us see what dementia can look like in case we are seeing the same symptoms.
It’s hard on Leslie sometimes too. I’m so glad they have the mutual faith in God. He will carry them through the tough times so they can enjoy the moments Jason has clarity and his wonderful sense of humor.

@@corinneb9790. I feel like them talking about Jason’s sense of humor as what brought them together, having so much fun together throughout the years…..is the gift God gave to Jason, to help both he and Leslie flourish together through these hard times also. Obviously dementia is one of the most difficult diseases, especially for someone as highly intelligent as Jason ( which still shines through ), it is beyond frustrating. I know this because my mom suffered with this for over 8 years, but interestingly enough she gained a sense of humor in dementia while she was always a very serious person most of her life. So personality traits can change with this disease too. I truly enjoyed this video more than some others, Jason seemed more relaxed. For them both to want to share this part of their lives with the world on YT is a gift that cannot be measured. Such wonderful people! Thank you both. 💕🌼💕

You guys have so much fun together too, we no longer have any fun. It's so sad and scary and we are only on moderate so far. My children are also having a rough time seeing their Dad decline so rapidly. My daughter is trained with intellectual disabilities and understands but my son cannot accept it at all. My daughter just became certified to teach about dementia to her co-workers.We are having another assessment done next week and hopefully they can give us some more help with coping skills and medication adjustment. Love this!! I recently suffered 3 strokes in 2 weeks time ended up in the hospital. I remember being very scared and calling my kids daily, begging them to come and be with me. When they left I tried to be strong and smile and say goodbye. This has scared me to realize I have a fear of being alone in a different environment without them. I don't want to be a burden on them, but want to be around them all the time. This is something I went through with my mother after her strokes. I am working on this daily and try to be upbeat when they are with me. Jason's great attitude gives me hope that I will be able to accept my reality with a sense of humor and a smile! Thank you for bringing this video. I now have hope that when it's my time to go, I can do it with an attitude of gratefulness and positivity. I want their last memories of me to be happy ones. Thank you Jason, not only are you tall, handsome and humble, but you are making people in my position learn how to have hope and happiness!❤❤❤❤😊

Every experience is unique and could never have taped my mothers experience as it was mostly volatile until now (10 years later) where she has lost all memory and is calm. I’m very thankful to see the calm part even if she does not recognize me. Her swallowing has recently been affected … one of the many later stages. May God give you all grace to cope.

Thank you for giving Jason a voice and allowing us to see things from his perspective. Even though I never knew him before his dementia diagnosis, I feel like I can see a glimmer of who he truly is.
Also, him talking about rarely mentioning his hallucinations gave me food for thought. My mom has hallucinations too. It must be frustrating and isolating to experience it when the people around you are not.
As always, my prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way. Thank you both for taking this difficult diagnosis and turning it into something positive as you educate so many of us.

First, I'd like to say that your talent at creating a beautiful tea, is really off the charts. I will be trying some of those little sandwiches, because I have an idea that my hubby will love them. Second, just from listening to you and Leslie talk about your adventures through life, I get the feeling that you lived your lives to the fullest. I am envious of all the experiences you have shared over the years. And finally, I really appreciate Jason's perspective on his dementia. My Mom had dementia the last several years of her life--during which time she lived with us. She KNEW she had dementia, but I never thought to ask how she felt when I would have to correct something she said--which was usually at a doctor's appointment. The doctor's and nurses would ask my Mom questions, she couldn't remember the answers so she would create something that sounded right--and then I would have to provide the correct answer. It happened ALL the time. I really, really didn't like doing that, it made me feel disrespectful to my Mom. I wished the medical professionals would have just talked to me to begin with. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. It means a lot to me.
