I have made butter for 60+ years and never thought of making it out of anything except for heavy cream! I will need to try adding the yogurt and buttermilk. Interesting.

I loved this video because he still shows his sweet and funny personality. My husband has dementia (was not diagnosed young though) and he has not had a sense of humor or personality in many years and I really miss that. He has no motivation to do anything either except every now and then he will sweep or load or unload the dishes. We have been married for 42 years this November and he was a wonderful, sweet, funny, kind husband and now he is a completely different man and I miss my husband so much! You guys are precious and I hate that he is having the myclonic jerks, bless his heart. I don't get to catch your videos often but you guys are a blessing to anyone living through this horrible disease. God Bless!

Apathy is really an issue with our situation. I don't know if it is officially called that in all types of neurodegerative diseases but with Huntington's it is a known problem.
It is really sad at times when all they can do is sit there but they want to do stuff.

@DiscernmentNow It is very exhausting. Just the effort to find new pathways in the brain for everyone takes a lot of physical energy, and to put damaged pathways in the mix makes it even more taxing.

Your playfulness is so sweet and your love for each other is so apparent. I like the updates in this manner. Having Jason talk about it seems to me to let him keep a dignity about himself while still sharing. It seems easier on you too Leslie that you don’t feel that you’re pointing out each decline. As followers of Jesus, I know that you both know that God has a plan and will not forsake you. I’m so thankful for your faith and I believe it to. Sending all the love and prayers for continued strength and blessings, no matter how small they may seem. ❤🙏🏻 You both have a whole bunch of people here who adore you both and are praying for you daily.

The one patient I had in primary care had twitches, but they were subtle and sort of inwards directed, if that makes sense. So he looked down and hand shook towards his torso. I still adore Jason and his culinary knowledge. I am 59, live on my family farm, and have never to this day made butter. Thank you Leslie and Jason for letting us view glimpses of your journey. I know it can’t be easy! You both are to be commended for your honesty about this terrible disease. Glad Jason can still have good moments and he’s so lucky to have a devoted wife through it all.💛🌼

My husband's decline is worsening too, Just today he had a bad fall. His spasms are not quite as bad as Jason's but he falls a lot. I love how you both interact. My husband is not talking much.

So happy to see Jason doing a food video!! Why yogurt and buttermilk and not just the heavy cream alone in making butter? Very sorry to hear about the myoclonic seizures and sad to hear that you both are having a more difficult time, even though it was to be expected. Hang in there and know that you both are in our thoughts and prayers!

Really fun watching Jason make butter. I bet you do really miss the fun of him cooking for you on a regular basis. We appreciate the update. I’m so sorry it wasn’t one filled with happiness. My heart hurts for you both. But you still remain so lovely and gracious and generous to share so the rest of us can learn, benefit and feel less alone. ☮️
