thank you guys for stopping by! there's a lot of content out there, and I'm super honored you picked this video! much love!! y'all kick ass!
Great reaction! I believe Spiderman Homecoming is next and then Thor Ragnarock is after that. You’ll love them both!
I can't speak for everyone but I love your enthusiasm and your honesty..... :)
Trivia Time:
In the comics, Quill's dad was a king of an alien race, and was a douche, not Ego the Living Planet.
The dancing Groot in the beginning James Gunn dancing in motion capture.
Seth Green voices Howard the Duck.
Stakar and the rest of the guys at the end of the movie were once Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics. In the comics, like all teams, there was a revolving door of who was on the team, which included Yondu.
Mantis was a badass and a warrior in the comics, not like she's portrayed in the movie, but had the same powers.
Kraglin is played by James Gunn's brother, Sean Gunn, and he also does the motion capture for Rocket.
P.S.: Look up Adam Warlock. Trust me.
Hey man thanks for the PS5 and MacBook.
That was you I sent my credit card info correct?
Either way I can't wait to talk to you on WhatsApp
😂😂😂
@@LN-Lifer he told me I won the ps5 and Mac ? Did he say you won ?
I was a CGI artist on this movie! :) i helped with the Ego's planet environment. I'm so glad you enjoyed and showed a lot of the shots i worked on! super cool to see people react so positively over something so many people work so hard on!
Yeah right lol
Lie
@@Micahramsey-xx9hk tf u mean "lie," do u think cgi just magically creates itself
@@Micahramsey-xx9hk a LOT of people work on this movies and they aren’t all famous buddy.
@Micah ramsey bitter and jaded. What wonderful qualities
You’re a liar! 😁
"It broke my heart to put that tumor in her head.."
That line, along with Peter's reaction, still gives me heartbreaking chills
And it fully set up that moment in Infinity War. Everyone was saying that was out of character for him but it totally wasn’t.
100% legit....I saw it coming a mile away.
I watched this with my Dad when my Mom was dying of cancer. He’d missed most of the MCU and was catching up for Infinity War, so we had Guardians 1, where his Mom died, and that was rough. Then this one, with that epiphany as to the source of her cancer and how unfair it was, needless, senseless. It was… a really tough watch. I was able to prepare him a bit, but when I saw it first, I had to walk out for a minute to compose myself; even then we knew we were just buying time and it was a losing battle.
Some things just… hit differently.
@@christinamatzen4214 No, what was out of character was Tony not repulsor beaming Quill out of the way while they finished. Endgame Tony, maybe, but Infinity War Tony did what was necessary regardless.
@@Saje3D YES!!
“He might have been your father boy,but he wasn’t your daddy.”
Kills me every time.😢
The one that gets me. “I’m sorry I didn’t do none of it right”.
I'm gonna copy and paste my comment from further up:
I had a shit father who left my mom for his job when she was pregnant with me. He became pretty wealthy and got a new family, while my mom had to raise me by herself. I saw him maybe 5 times even though he lived 3 hours from me, and it absolutely sucked. I cried about it all the time, more than once a week.
My stepdad came in the picture when I was 8. He immediately joined as a coach on my baseball team, and would train with me nearly everyday on pitching and hitting, but he'd always ask if I was sure I still wanted to do it every couple months. He held me when I cried about my piece of shit father, and busted his ass to provide for my mom and me, but never said no when I would ask him to play ball with me after work. I found out years later that he pretty quickly told my father to stop calling every couple months just to upset me, and to either take a more active role or stay out of my life, because he couldn't stand to see his boy hurting.
I'm now a single dad to an 8 year old son and y'all... I sobbed near the end of this movie with Yondu. He said almost exactly what my stepdad said to me: "He may have been your father, son, but he was never your dad." I'm sobbing now after watching it again. My pipes burst 3 nights ago, and my stepdad got off work that night and spent 7 hours under my house fixing them.
If I'm half the Dad my stepdad is to me, my boy will have a damn good father.
Chris Pratt lost his dad very close to or during the filming of this movie. In the scene where Yondu died he brought all that grief into his role. RIP Daniel Clifton Pratt.
I didn‘t know that! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing
Whatttt wow, that makes this even more emotional
I totally forgot about that, thanks for reminding me may his dad rest in everlasting peace

"I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!!" may be my favourite line in an MCU movie
DEFINITELY!!
i thought he says "yoooo" not "yall"
Step in time, Yondu
Alex: “Yeah I would care if he dies, he’s a badass”
Me: “oh no”
Me: yep, that’s how they getcha.
Nothing in the MCU hits harder than the end of this movie. That's why it's my favorite.
And then 3 came out 😭😭😭
As a quick note on all the Ravagers that appear on the post credits scene: Those are all members of the original Guardians of the Galaxy line up from 1969, along with Yondu. One of the things I adore from the Guardians movies is how seamlessly they incorporate a lot of characters, moments or references to comics that have gone completely forgotten for decades. Specially excited to see them tackle Adam Warlock and the High Evolutionary on the next one.
Wish we’d get a “Ravagers” movie.
Cosmo will talk in Guardians 3!
This movie is a service to exposition and closure. Finaly an explanation for why Yondu did what he did. Nebula and Gamorra finally coming to a mutual understanding. Rocket having the epiphany of realizing he was with people that accepted him as he is. Rocket had real growth here. I don't think this installment was too concerned with the comedy.
dont forget Drax... finally getting a glimpse of what "a joke" is. Thats character development!
Yet it was still hilarious
Nah. I think they tried a little too hard with the humour in this one.
But when the comedy does show up it's fuckin HILARIOUS
Volume 2 is filled with moments and one-liners that deliver emotion instead of comedy (although "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!" is freaking hilarious). Alex left out the moment when Mantis touches Drax after he talks about his family and immediately starts sobbing... while Drax just sits there holding it in.
I love the Baby Groot dancing scene (Which is James Gunn doing the dancing, you can see the side by side if you look it up) and you are going to LOVE Ragnarok!!
I put this movie in, just to watch the opening credits.
the funeral was a super important moment because originally the ravenger leader shunned him from there group for taking peter as a kid because he thought it was for a job but now that he understood what his sacrifice meant they gave him the most ultimate show of respect they could with a ravenger funeral themed after his life
Nothing beats "I'm Mary Poppins Ya'll", best line in the entire MCU and paired with the visual of Yondu floating down with the arrow, is the ultimate meme!
For being my favorite MCU comedy the emotional moments in this movie hit so damn hard. Yondu's death, "you just wanted to win, I just wanted a sister." "Because you're me!" The Colors of Agord. But my favorite that I never see reactors add in there videos. Mantis and Drax when Drax is remembering his family.
Drax is the guy with the infectious laugh, such a bright outlook on everything going on. He is sitting there with a serene look on his face and a small smile at the memories and the empathy touches his and starts to sob, because Drax is such a hurt and tragic character, so he chooses to focus on the happiness but also accepts his pain as a part of who he is.
That gets me too. You never know what people are experiencing inside. When I was dealing with some hardcore chronic pain, I’d tell my husband, “It’s not that I want you to be in pain… but I would like it if you could know what I’m going through. Even just a peek into what it’s like would help. I may be having a conversation right now, but it does NOT mean that I’m fine. I might be sitting instead of doing the dishes, but it’s not because I’m lazy and want to sit. I CAN’T do the dishes without standing at an angle for three days and needing painkillers. If you could just FEEL it, you would never doubt me again.”
Luckily, he’s caught on quite a lot, and as I’ve improved he’s seen I will do more when I can do more. I LIKE doing more. But he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know, and while I don’t blame him for that, it can be a pretty big and dangerous blind spot if you aren’t aware of it.
The saddest Stan Lee cameo now after his death. Him saying "I have so many more stories to tell". :(
Nebula had/has one of the best storylines. Her emotional growth is fantastic to watch!! Favorite Character
Also, the team the Sylvester Stallone was one were the original version Guardians of the comics. Adam is Adam Warlock
I love Vol. 2 more because of the questions from Vol. 1 that were answered and the relationships. We finally know why Yondu did the things he did because he was trying to protect Peter, even if he didn’t show it all the time. We get the sisterly love between Gamora and Nebula finally fixed after their years of torture from Ronan and Thanos, they finally realized their true intentions. & Baby Groot!!! Baby Groot is the best part about Vol. 2, he’s the cutest lil Guardian there is! It’s crazy how long ago Adam Warlock was teased and next year we’ll finally be seeing him, you should be caught up by then haha Can’t wait for next week to grab my gooch for Spider-Man Homecoming!!! 🤟🏻
YES! I like it more for all those reasons! It also just feels bigger, and more epic somehow. There may be less star hopping but it felt bigger still. And the story progression, one of my favorites in a long time. I think it’s in my top five MCU movies.
That scene where Mantis and Drax are having a sort of heart-to-heart was one of the most powerful scenes in a movie I’ve ever watched. The way she broke down while Drax was just sitting there, stone cold and stoic, felt so relatable for myself and I’m sure many others too. That man carries more grief and pain in his heart than most people could ever imagine, and nobody would ever know it just by looking at him.
As someone who lost their dad as teenager, the end of this movie makes me cry every time.
The most heartbreaking twist ever. It shattered my heart when Ego said he killed peter’s mother and followed by that when Yandu died I cried like a freaking baby!
I love the guardians so much there relationship is so amazing and joyful .
The emotion in this movie hits me harder every time I watch it. Rocket and Yondu and especially Peter and Yondu. The family theme carries so much weight and honestly gets better every time I see it--even in a reaction!
Yeah I'm crying after about 10 seconds of the funeral
And I just found out Chris Pratts real father passed away the time of filming this movie..
I am finding it pleasant that one big point of Guardians was finding family and noticing how in the beginning, Rocket, a normally very selfish dude, pipes up to defend Quil when he is called a hybrid without skipping a beat💚💚💚
Adam Warlock is a great character in the comics. His creators intended to give an evil use to his abilities, so he rebelled against them. Adam has superhuman resistance and cosmic absorption; he can fly and reach the speed of sound. Previously, Warlock had the Soul Stone, that Stone serves as a pocket dimension similiar to a paradise where he can put souls from enemies or allies.
You ABSOLUTELY need to buy the soundtracks to both these movies! You will be swaying and smiling the entire time!
Thanks for the movie reactions, Alex! I look forward to Marvel Movie Monday every week!
Ditto! I told my husband, “Oh, it’s MONDAY!“ and he was very confused. 😂
"I'll blow that whole place up" Y'know... funny you should say that... but yeah, I _said_ we cared if the blue guy dies back in the volume 1 video! This is why! And, seriously, as a stepfather, myself, that scene just _ripped_ my heart out! The whole Yondu/Ego arc just destroyed me!
I have been WAITING for this reaction!! I have a close friend from college who was cast as one of Yondu’s Ravenger group. On impulse I pick him out every time he’s onscreen and I am very proud of his acting adventures!! Also Adam is Adam Warlock. A powerful sometimes friend, sometimes foe to the Guardians.
Hey, you have to show us your friend! Which one is he?
@@E_l_l_i_e unfortunately I believe it may be an uncredited role because he doesn’t have any lines or scripted actions specific to him but here is what I could pick out!
14:52 he slightly peeks out over Yondu’s right arm.
15:01 he is second to the right of Yondu. You can track him for most of the shots facing yondu from here. They didn’t move positions once there.
17:27 he is the furtherest in the back over Kraglin’s left shoulder.
I think there are a couple better full body shots of him being rowdy with the other ravengers during the ship scenes before groot tried to help rocket and yondu out of the cell but those are not in this cut of the reaction.
@@abbyhutcheson9805 thanks! It's kinda hard to see with the small screen and quick cuts. but I'll watch the movie this weekend for sure, it'll be easier to spot him then. 🙂
"I have so many more stories to tell" RIP Stan Lee and thank you for all the stories you gave us.
Lets hear it for Tazer-FACE!!! LOL
🤭
It's metaphorical!
This movie hit me so hard, its not just the family we have; but the family we choose.
to me this one hits on a whole different emotional level than all the other MCU movies.
both GoG movies are among the best of MCU imo no matter what others say. and you really have to give Marvel, James Gunn and everyone working on those 2 movies credit for how enjoyable those are despite the source material being rather unknown to the wide audience
This is by far the most underrated Marvel Movie
Man... when I was watching in theaters and as soon as that epic music went silent, and all the focus was on groot instead of the big fight, I knew this was movie was going to be fun and hilarious like the first, but still be refreshing =-)
Spiderman Homecoming should be next. It came out July 2017. Thor Ragnarok was October. I know it's not on Disney+ yet but it's still really important to the MCU canon.
Spiderman Homecoming is next. Then Thor Ragnarock. The Spiderman movies aren't on Disney plus. But you still need to watch them!
"It's raining men" is actually pretty era-appropriate to the music that was playing. I approve.
One of my favorite mcu films, such an amazing movie
First time i saw this, i liked the first one way better, too. On subsequent viewings, however, this one has really shrunk the lead that the first one had. This holds up really well, and the multiple resolutions at the end are extremely satisfying, even (gasp) emotional.
I know what it's like to loose... To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail nonetheless. It's frightening... Turns the legs to jelly. But I ask you to what end? Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same. And now it's here, or should I say.... I AM! 😉
I know those lines
They cut deep into my soul
My favorite movie of all time
Mantis: gets domed by a random burning chunk of debris
Drax: "MANTIS LOOK OUT" My favorite line of the movie
Bro 35:45 possibly one of the most outta pocket things I’ve heard 😂😂
Love the reactions though, keep it up
I thought i liked the first movie over this one one but upon retrospection i realized how deep and amazing this movie is and its by far one of my favourites...the theme of finding family and trying to keep the famil together is so strong in this movie and the whole Yondu death scene still chokes me up...each of the guardians are struggling to find meaning in their unusual family and by the end they all realise they are a family no matter how hard things are...Rocket's whole arc in this movie is so dear to me...i freaking ove this movie
This one really hits hard. Having a garbage dad but an amazing father figure and seeing him die as a teenager makes it tough to watch but still a great one.
I love these two. The first was about the mother, this was about the father, super stoked for the 3rd :)
since the first time watching this movie, by far think the best opening credit scene ever, just so funny with a great song by ELO to tie it all together
You didn't think this one would be so emotional? Just wait for the next one
I like this more if not just as much as the 1st film. The death and funeral of Yondu makes me cry every time I watch it.
Your commentary is unparalleled with the "Ew, are you gunna touch your Willis" and the "Are you sexually relieving yourself??" comments and it's made my week so much better. Thank you, sir.
“You people have issues.
Well of course I’ve got issues! *THATS MY FREAKIN FATHER!* “
Definitely my favorite back and forth up to that point in the MCU.
The person in the cocoon type thing, the one she called Adam, is Adam Warlock. He is very powerful (assuming they follow the comics). From what I understand he is powerful enough to kill Thanos by himself. That may be why they've waited to introduce him. He will be in Guardians 3
“I ain’t done nothin right my whole damn life, rat” “ra- ha- ha- hat” for some reason made me lose my mind 😂
Peter yelling no as Yondu is flying him up into space get's me everytime. Chris Pratts acting is so good.
Peter Quill watched ALL THREE of his parents die in front of him.
I feel like many don't like this movie as much because of some of the jokes missing. However, I really love the character arcs, the emotion and just really everything else done with it, which makes this probably my overall favorite MCU film.
Yondu's death and funeral makes me always cry
I cry like a baby every time I see this movie I first saw This about 2 months after my dad had died & to make matters worse I like to go into movies knowing as little as possible so needless to say I was not prepared for the ending thankfully it was a matinee and there was only a few people there to see me completely breakdown 😭
Basically the moment quill says eternity the tone of this entire film changes and becomes one of my favorites in the MCU
Remember Bucky’s white-ass teeth in Civil War? That’s how you know he’s a good guy. 😊
Thanks Alex! You make my Mondays a little bit better by doing this series.
Bro, Spiderman: Homecoming should be next. It came out in July, and Thor was November. These are great reactions, keep it up.
Found you from your John Wick reviews and I’m hooked man 🤙🏻
welcome to the family, my friend!
This is top 5 mcu film for me, I love it!
Idk how people can dislike this movie. I understand that it’s not as great as the first one but it’s still good.
Favorite part will forever be anything w/ little Groot, mostly his dancing at the beginning though.
Allegedly, the Yondu actor, Michael Rooker, is good friends with James Gunn. Mike took him out for ride in a beat up old car in Missouri, where they are both from i think. Mike didn't have a new stereo whatever; he had a bunch of mix tapes on the floor and told James to throw them in. And that's where the sound tracks and vibe came from.
I've only ever come into a movie late twice, and both times there were no previews. I missed the whole scene with Quill's parents.
I cried at three deaths in this series. Yondu was the first. Did not expect that, back then.
FINALLY IN THE UK!!!
Love that part after the rock hits Mantis, then Drax yells "Mantis! Look out!" Cracks me up every time.
“I know who you are boy, because you’re me” has gotta be my favorite line in the entire movie, following that argument. It was heartfelt and was part of Yondu’s redemption ark.
Oh dear....I thought I'd already seen this. Guess I'm going to have to go find someplace to see the whole thing.
Just watched volume 3. It was so good.
Alex: watched Groot go I to tunnel to plant the bomb
Also alex: where’s Groot?
In the end with Stallone this was actually the original GOTG. In the comix they changed members multiple times.
If you are watching the Marvel movies in release order, 'Spider-man: Homecoming" would be next. It was released July 2017. ' Thor: Ragnarok' was released November 2017.
lastly mantis is AWESOME - and the actress who plays her, gamorra and nebula - all 3 of those women are GORGEOUS
now i don't have a favorite movie of all times, but if i had to pick one this would be on the list of candidates...
The best thing about this movie was Baby Groot! Too much adorableness!
15:15 is "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison (from The Beetles) my favorite Beetle.
ADAM WARLOCK is the guy in the pod ! The most bad ass super hero. He will be in the “guardians of the Galaxy 3”. He is a legend in marvel comics.
That diamond faced guy is played by Michael Rosenbaum same actor who played Lex Luthor in Smallville
It cracks me up that you say your kinda sad bc you feel like you getting to the end. GOTG2 is the 15th movie. Black panther 2(the next movie that comes out) is movie number 30 and project 38. 8 of those are series on Disney plus that 6ish hours each. So your 1/3 the way through. Plus they have more titles in development than ever
I’m Mary poppins y’all! That line will forever crack me up
I've actually never seen anyone think mantis isn't the cutest thing ever
Until now I guess lol
I saw it when it came out from the first song Brandy I was hooked to the end.
About the only reason I look forward to Mondays. Get to watch someone see these movies and has fun doing it!
"What is that you are eating?" Perfectly timed commentary. XD
It is impressive how he hears info, and forgets it less than 4 seconds later.
The next MCU film should be Spiderman: Homecoming.
Thank you for being my Tuesday morning cartoon for the last month.
Oh my. I can finally see this
I remember seeing trailers of this in theaters like I can't wait lol
Yondu's death was one of THE saddest moments in the MCU 😢
Yayayayay it’s finally available in the UK!!!!
Please never stop making videos... You are amazing... ❤😊
thank you so f much alex for the spotify playlist idea.... omgg... i found it... lmao
😂😂❣
Ahhhh. Here we are. Gaurdians2. Getting there.
One of my top MCU movie, it's just great
