- This little thing had clearly lived a life before I got to It- maybe several lives. But, she’s all fixed up now looking better than ever and is ready for her new home. Here’s hoping my sister-In-law loves it as much as I do. 🤞🏻

Spectacular, when you were sleeping I think a fairy dropped in and sprinkled some fairy dust on it ✨
I don’t doubt it. Those guys are always flying around my shop after hours 🧚🏻♂️
I watch several different furniture flipping videos. I thought it was neat when the others would use two colors on a piece. I think their vision is incredible and I respect them all. You however are next level. What you do to pieces, simply blows my mind. The way you blend colors and the way you blend images so that edges vanish…I don’t have words for it. Your skill is amazing.
Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. I just really enjoy the process ☺️
@@elegantupgrades it shows! So many questions I’d love to ask, but I won’t bore you. After this. video, I subscribed to your channel.

I’m sitting here nodding my head and saying uh-huh, sure it’s easy peasy…. Girl! I don’t know if you realize just how talented you are! You not only have an eye for beauty, but the ability to create it. 💖 what a wonderful gifting you have, and such a gentle spirit, makes it easy to learn from you. Thanks kiddo, love your work
Haha! You are truly so kind to me, Lorraine! I really hope I make it easy to learn - then (hopefully) you’ll agree and say it’s easy peasy, too!!!

My husband has these scraps of cedar which I plan to prime, put you on slo-mo, and practice, practice, practice on! I am rather determined to learn your process. I have a darkly stained bedroom set that was gifted to me, which desperately needs new life. They are so drab I can hardly stand them. I’d much rather do some blending and decoupage then just slapping a coat of paint on them.
How exciting- you’ll have to keep me posted and let me know how they turn out!!!
Your little "helper" is awfully cute! Reminds me of mine when he was a child! Great job.
Thank you, Sarah! He does enjoy “helping” ☺️
Beautiful work i love it!!! What a lucky sister in law!!!! A great 🎁 Gift...
Thank you so much, Maria! I’m just glad she liked it 🥰
The desk is lovely. It’s delightful that you’ve added these extra touches specifically for your sister-in-law.🌸
Thank you, Deborah!
Funny thing I picked up a piece like this for my daughter and now I'm looking at it....as i watch you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Perfect timing!
I love your furniture art and your comfortable attitude while creating beauty. Sounds like you really enjoy what you do.
Thank you so much! I really do love it, I’m glad it’s coming across that way 😊
You r a wonderful sister. She will love it. It is the best I have seen…and I have watched a lot of videos…your love for her is all over this beautiful dresser.
Thank you, Linda. That makes my heart so happy, thank you for leaving such a wonderful comment.
You seem to have a vision and carry it off so fawlessly. This is just a stunning work of art. I could watch you work al day. I'm so glad you share with us.
Thank you so much! That’s such a lovely compliment 🥰
I had that desk when I was 10 years old. My parents bought a few pieces (it was from Sears, and called French Provincial). I hated it! I didn't like fancy stuff. I painted that thing over and over (and the matching small hutch/bookcase that fitted on top) so many times before I sold it to a second-hand shop. So, what do I do when I get my first apartment many, many years later. Yup. Found the matching small dresser in the Goodwill across the street for $15, dragged it home (literally), then painted it. A year later, I brought it to my new house, to go in the foyer. French Provincial revenge! This looks so pretty!
Ah, you had me rolling! So funny. Thank you for sharing 😂
beautifully soft blending I love the hints of pink everywhere
Thank you, Melanie!

If you flip the drawers over you can put your drawer liners upside down on them and measure that way, heaps easier 🧡

I love the blend. It’s absolutely gorgeous 💖 All the colors came together so elegantly & the finished look is so beautiful & stunning. The special touch of the picture you took of your sister in law just melted my heart .. I’ve never seen anything like that done on drawer sides before. Absolutely brilliantly creative, so special & heartfelt. 🥰 I just love everything about this piece 💝💕💖💞
Oh thank you, Lindsey! These are my favorite pieces to do because they are a bit sentimental. And thank you for always being such an encouragement to me.

Awesome? It's breathtaking! I absolutely love your choice of colors and I love your style. Keep the videos going you're doing great. You have my attention.
Oh thank you! That’s so nice to hear!
Nice work!
Thank you!
This is first time I've ever heard of liquid sandpaper. I gotta check that out
Definitely! It’s a time saver for sure.
This project is giving me Bob Ross vibes. It was rather relaxing watching you blend the colors around the tissue. In real time, and with relaxing music, this could be included in a meditation video.
Ok, no joke, as I’m blending I frequently find myself saying, “two hairs and some air” because I LOVE Bob Ross and I really think he has helped up my furniture game.
So, so pretty 😍
Thank you, Tracy!
Just Gorgeous
Thanks, Debra!
Perfect 😍
Thank you, Tarnya!
Shes going to flip, its so cool. Thanks for talking about your photography as Ive done it for almost two decades and didnt even think to use some of my photos on a piece! Duh?! LOL
Yes! It’s a fun way to make your pieces more unique. If you end up doing it, I’d love to see the end result!
@@elegantupgrades I have many cool looking shots from weddings Ive done over the years as I shoot documentary style and get all the detail/decor stuff. Also some of my glam shots!
One of these days I'll finally have videos up! LOL I just have to get moved, I just bought a house and have the space for workshop there so I have to move my current rented workshop. Its insanity moving out of two places! Haha.
Oh that’s so exciting! I can’t wait until I don’t have to have a separate workshop. Moving is a pain, but I’m sure it will be totally worth it.
@@elegantupgrades Thank you. It will. It will be bitter sweet as I love my workshop and my landlords are so nice. Ive been there almost 4 years. Its been a Great run!
But, so looking forward to combining.
El resultado es realmente fantástico. Ha quedado muy bonito.
Gracias!
Beautiful
Thanks, Carole!
I stuck to the end an it is just Beautiful.
Thank you so much, Pat!
A piece of art
Thank you, Dodd!
Très élégant ❤️
All the details!
I LOVE details!

You did a great job! It seems that grey is the color of choice for a lot of refinishers these days. Too bad for me because I do Not like grey. It is so depressing to me. Please choose a happy color for your next piece? Thanks so much. Love your style and your finished pieces.
Haha, yes, gray is one of my favorite colors 😂. But my last few pieces were very bright and cheerful. You can also use the same techniques with colors that you love. I think this same piece would have also been beautiful swapping out cream for the gray.
Beautiful! If your sister-in law doesn’t like it, send it to me. 😁
😂 Will do, Kay!
Love!! \o/
I’m speechless ❤️it 🇵🇰
Oh, thank you so much!!!
Que maravilla 👍👏
Thank you so much!
Oh my...it's beautiful..Can you lest your printer and where you get your paper
Oh yes! I’ll throw the links in the description momentarily. Thank you.
So pretty! I love the subtle shimmer, glimmer, bling-bling, etc. Are you in Portland, OR? I saw "Portland" under your video. I'm also in Portland! Very cool. Did you by chance go to the Art Institute or similar art college? You definitely have that trained artist eye. As a graphic designer I love, love the decoupage papers, textures, details, etc. I like what you're doing. Showing people they don't have to buy fancy overpriced papers and that you can create your own is great.
Yes! Portland, OR ☺️ So I guess we are neighbors. No, I didn’t go to any art school- I just like playing around with things and seeing what I can come up with. And I’m so glad you enjoy the textiles. I think it’s important for people to know a lot of these finishes are attainable at any point in the journey. Some may take a little extra effort than others, but totally worth it to me.
@@elegantupgrades 👍
Can you tell me what you used for the gold accents? And what spray paint do you recommend for painting hardware? I'm having a difficult time finding one that sticks well. Do you prime your hardware first?
I believe for this I used Glazing Dusts from Chalk Mountain mixed with poly. And to prep my hardware I always make sure it has been cleaned with a degreaser and lightly sanded to be able to grip to the spray paint- I will occasionally prime them, but not always. And I typically use rustoleum, but I almost always seal with a sealer afterwards to really lock it in.
Your gold color/paint is beautiful and shimmery. You mention you use gold pigment. Please explain what it is, where you buy it and what you mix it with to apply it to the furniture. Thank you!
Hey Maria! Thanks for watching. I’ve linked everything in the description box. I typically use glazing dust. Here I mixed it with Chalk Mountain Satin Poly- but you can do tons of different mediums with it.
@@elegantupgrades thanks for taking the time to answer.
I absolutely love this! I'm doing something similar right now as well.
Do you have an instagram?
Thank you, and yes! It’s @elegantupgrades. I’d love to it when you get it finished!
Oh my gosh it's gorgeous!! I have a desk like that, but it was left in the garage and the squirrels all got to it and the top is disgusting. is there a way to rescue it at all?
Thank you, Ora! I like to think there is always a way to rescue every piece- however it always depends on how much time/money you want to invest. Without seeing exactly what needs to be done it’s hard to say. But wood filler and bondo can work some magic. And sometimes you have to actually replace a piece here and there.
@@elegantupgrades Thank you so much for taking the time out and replying! Can I get rid of the yuck that is all over the top of the desk from the squirrels ? What would I need to strip it all off?
Well, the top I worked on here was a Formica top so I wouldn’t have been able to strip it. The most I could have done would be to replace it or add a type of veneer (which probably would be the route I would have taken). If it’s just paint over wood, you can use a stripper and get to the wood that way. I’m just not sure what has been done to yours and what it’s made of. It varies greatly from piece to piece. If it has been damaged you may need a new top, if it’s just messy- cleaning, stripping, and then sanding is the way to go.
As far as strippers go, I use something like Jasco’s 15 min stripper and then follow up with mineral spirits. If you like something a little less stinky- Citristrip is ok. It just doesn’t work as well.
I have my late moms French provincial desk with matching chair similar to yours , my mom's desk only has more curve and design, my question is why are all the french provincial desk chest all have that discolored yellow?
It’s just the finish they used. They discolor over time and since this style is almost always done in the white/cream color, it’s much easier to see.
Did I understand you correctly… Did you print directly onto tissue paper? If so, what type of printer do you use?
Yes, but it’s a process to do it. I have a large format printer that I use and I attach the paper to another sheet. If you want to just start messing around and trying out printing them on your own, I would recommend starting with newspaper style paper. You can also order off of Zazzle if you don’t mind waiting. If you haven’t seen it already, I did a video on how I print with the newspaper style paper here- ua-cam.com/video/vuadOtSml6E/v-deo.html
What kind of saw is that?
It’s called a pull saw. It’s one of my most favorite tools!
I would hate to see the basement of a woman who carries a handsaw in her purse O.O
Ha! The basement just has more tools. The more the merrier and all that.
Are you ever bothered by carpal tunnel pain in your wrist?
I thankfully haven’t had any issues with that. Fingers crossed it doesn’t start.
Beautiful!
Thank you, Connie!
